OVERTAKE!: IL NUOVO ANIME ORIGINALE DI TROYCA CI PORTA SULLE PISTE DI FORMULA 4

La serie è diretta da Ei Aoki, regista di Id:Invaded, Re:Creators e Aldnoah.Zero.

Dopo l'esperimento non propriamente riuscito di "SHINOBI NO ITTOKI", lo studio TROYCA (Bloom into You, IDOLiSH7, Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note) torna a collaborare con Kadokawa e ci presente a sorpresa una nuova serie originale, dall'impronta automobilistica.

Il regista Ei Aoki (Aldnoah.Zero, Id:Invaded, Re:Creators) abbandona il sci-fi e con "OVERTAKE!" si prepara a portarci direttamente sulle piste di Formula 4.

Di seguito vi lascio il primo teaser trailer; le monoposto in computer grafica non mi fanno impazzire, ma è bello vedere sbarcare in tv anche sport più di nicchia come questo.

La supervisione del progetto è affidata a Katsuhiko Takayama (Aldnoah.Zero, Two Car), mentre alla sceneggiatura troviamo Ayumi Sekine (IDOLiSH7, Technoroid Overmind). Il character design è quello riconoscibile di Takako Shimura's (Aldnoah.Zero), adattato per l'occasione da Masako Matsumoto. 

I due protagonisti della storia sono il giovane pilota Haruka Asahina e il fotografo freelance Koya Madoka, interpretati rispettivamente da Anan Furuya e Katsuyuki Konishi (Marbas in The tale of outcasts).

I loved every bit of Overtake! this season. Easily my favorite this fall. Whereas other sport shows focus on the sport itself, overtake used it as a means of personal growth. The little screen time the cars had gave way for so much more.

When I first saw the description of this anime I wasn't sure where it was going to go, and while we all saw the end coming, it was the journey there I really enjoyed. The focus on the little things that makes us people.

Very glad to see Satoru freak out over tsuchinoko because lately it feels like they’ve only been focusing on his crush on Iroha (Mayu teasing).

I don’t have high hopes for Cure Satoru and I’m okay with that but the scene of him digging trying to save everyone could be something, maybe.

Unrelated but the second ending is so appealing to me. The happy violins just remind me of Paper Mario Origami King (WE GET IT YOU LOVE PMOK) but also the thick outlines and the girl’s long legs are so aesthetically pleasing to me. I really love Lillian doing the “Smiley One” part, it’s so cute 🥰
