Like Elliantare and @tavarres, Mal'narae is another one of my OCs clawing and fighting to attain main character status alongside Kyuusei and @longveil...
After a long time and many words written, I left WoW roleplay in mid-2021. While some of my OCs might be re-interpreted in other settings, they aren't continuations. For the foreseeable future, these characters are retired.
Kyuusei Shadowleaf
World of Warcraft, MG-A & WRA-A @kyuusei-shadowleaf
Cenarion Druid, a child of Ashamane, Kyuusei was a Night Elf often at war with her own nature - and who wished, more than anything, to find the embrace of home. Not just the place, but home of the soul. She's semi-retired to a cottage in Val'sharah, shared with a druidess named Alania, a sapling teldorei, and a sleeping emerald dragon in a nearby meadow. Her epilogue is here.
Seraanna Longveil-Morrowsun
World of Warcraft, MG-A & WRA-A @longveil-morrowsun
Seraanna Longveil, Marquess of House Morrowsun, found herself pressed by need and adversary almost to her unmaking, but emerged instead a sibyl of the Void’s myriad truths. The ren'dorei has left her apartment that once overlooked Stormwind Harbor and is now rumored to have taken up residence on the grounds of the Temple of the Jade Serpent, where she practices calligraphy, dances with a fox, and listens. Her coda is here.
Annadia Thorn-Morrowsun
World of Warcraft, MG-A @annadia-thorn
The younger daughter of Morrowsun, Annadia wields blades and sheds blood as easily as her dear sister Seraanna twists Shadow. Apprenticed among the cartels of Murder Row, Annadia flirts with darkness and gives allegiance to none - save for her undying love for the last living remnant of her family. She now flits from place to place, rarely seen long, more shadow and rumor than fact. Her coda is shared with her sister.
Tavarres Stagheart
World of Warcraft, MG-A @tavarres
Old beyond reckoning with calm patience to match, the hermit’s son was driven from his mountain by Cataclysm only to find a Grey Path laid by one even older than himself. Only a few voices among the capricious and short-lived ever truly caught his ear. Perhaps he's returned to Stonetalon, or found interest in ancient lands that make him feel young again.
“So practiced and poised, but beneath it he is ready to snap your neck in an instant. He is hiding something.” – Mozelle Deliond
“Tavarres puts forth such an exquisite image of a man who takes his life slowly and steadily, who indulges in the simple but well-moderated pleasures of pipe and ale, who has all the time in the world and all the gentleness to understand your ills. So practiced and poised, but beneath it he is ready to snap your neck in an instant.
The 2017 season hasn’t been a good one for the 0-5 Giants, but Week 5 was especially rough - 4 receivers were lost to injuries and 3 are now ruled out for the season:
The Giants have already added WRs Travis Rudolph and Tavarres King. And they may opt to activate receivers from the practice squad which includes Ed Eagan, Marquis Bundy and Darius Powe.

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” – William Shakespeare
For minor/supporting characters or places, if something doesn’t come to me I’ll go to a name generator and press refresh until something catches my ear, then tweak that until it’s just right. Just like with my dialogue, I’ll speak the name out loud to see how it feels on the lips and tongue. That’s how, for example, I came up with Delyra Moonsinger, the Apothecary Haverty (William in life), Avelar, and other names.
But for the main characters? I like them to have more meaning and intent. Sometimes it’s a sound: when I was casting around for name for my rebooted shadow priestess, I wanted something without harsh sounds that could be said in a breathy voice - Seraanna (Seraa) was the final result of a lot of trial and effort. Note that you can say “Seraanna” without moving your lips. (You just tried it, didn't you?)
Other times I want the name itself has meaning - and I’ll go to other languages for that. Kyuusei started off as a butchered attempt to say “nine lives” in Japanese, and was further mangled to get the right sound/feel for a name. Tavarres (Tavares) is Spanish in origin, meaning “son of the hermit”. A discipline/holy priest I used to play was named Hayati, which means “my life” (as in “my life, my love”) in Arabic.
Bonus story: I had a Tauren Druid in Wrath named Tuhan - which I’d simply picked because I liked the sound. Until someone whispered me unexpectedly to ask if I was Malaysian? No, why?
It turns out that Tuhan is the Malay word for “God”.
I’ve become much more diligent about searching for alternate meanings to names I choose since then...
These are just a small few that I personally have rped with either recently or in the past and I absolutely adore. Some honorable mentions of people I haven’t wrote with myself but they seem pretty great:
I am so sure I missed a bunch of people and if I did, I am so sorry! YOU TOO ARE AMAZING! YES, YOU SITTING BEHIND THE SCREEN. I...I...
The support in this community is positively insane and it’s bolstered my confidence as a writer. It’s thanks to all of you that I’ve mustered the courage to take these two nebulous characters and shape them into something real. All of your stories inspire me and make me want to be a better writer, storyteller, and even person. KEEP UP THE INCREDIBLE WORK, my dudes. And know that you’ll always have a loyal reader eagerly awaiting your next piece <3
Thanks for the ask, mysterious Anon. I love you, too.

18. Do they have any phobias?
Phobia: noun
1. an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.
Mozelle would rather die than be dependent on anyone or caught unprepared for the worst case scenario — make her own money and split it between bank accounts and keeping it in stashes in case something happens to her bank access, take care of as many of her own needs as possible and know everything necessary for homesteading, keep a residence under her own name and a cheap apartment elsewhere under a fake name ‘just in case.’ Failure to be self-sufficient or prepared for the worst is just asking for someone to hurt you as payment for their assistance.
— But you have to be necessary and useful to other people, too, else you’re just going to be labeled obsolete and thrown away and they won’t care because why would they? If you’re useless then you’re unnecessary to keep around.
But hey, at least the thalassophobia has really died down since she came to the conclusion that N’Zoth Is Cool, Actually and that tentacles aren’t so bad! She still has a very healthy respect for the ability of the oceans and their denizens to absolutely massacre a human, though.

With years of experience in suffering from intrusive thoughts, Mozelle is actually fairly decent at just sort of... disregarding the whispers of the Void which run contrary to her nature or beliefs; mind you, of course, that much of what the Void has to say is perfectly in line with her nature and beliefs...
But instead of snapping her dear friend’s neck for getting on her nerves by making too much noise when she has a headache, let’s have some pasta for lunch instead and not kill anyone today.
Week 9 Recap - You know it was bad for the Giants when after the game, head coach Ben McAdoo floats out the possibility of benching the whole team for younger players. Including veteran QB Eli Manning. Even for a team decimated by injuries on both offense and defense, the loss was still pretty ugly. One play in particular highlighted just how bad the Giants day was: the Rams were faced with 3rd and 33 but were able to torch the Giants defense for a 52-yard touchdown on a screen pass to WR Robert Woods. At 1-7, the Giants are not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but it is hard to envision any reasonable scenario where they make it to the postseason.
Rams QB Jared Goff had a career-high day, throwing for 311 yards on just 14 passes with 4 touchdowns, no turnovers and ended with a passer rating of 146.8.
