It’s our favorite time of the year!!

For anyone new here: Taka Matsuri is a little event I host around Sasuke’s birthday where we appreciate our favorite team in all sorts of ways.

What we do: Whether it’s creating something (writing, art, mood board, playlist, you name it) or sharing/appreciating someone else’s creations everyone is welcome to participate.

My whole goal with this event is to have a good time talking about characters that mean so much to us and making friends along the way.

Up until this point the event has been prompt based (each day has an assigned prompt) and has only lasted 3 days.

This year we’re trying something different and honestly I’m pretty excited about it (I hope you like it too)

The event is now 4 days long and instead of a list of prompts people need to follow each day will be for a different member of the Team. (for example: July 20 - Suigetsu. July 21 - Karin. etc) with Sasuke’s day being on his birthday and the final day of the event; the 23rd.

To participate all you have to do is make a post (or reblog, comment, or even just send me a message) about whatever member of the team is being highlighted that day. (And also tag it #teamtakamatsuri so everyone can see it)

The reason why: I thought it would be fun to have a whole day to talk about, write about, and just generally appreciate each member of the team. They deserve so much hype.

Also I feel like it makes it easier to participate because now instead of having to stick to a very specific prompt you may not be excited about, you can just make that random post about Suigetsu’s Pajamas that’s been living in the attic of your mind on Suigetsu’s designated day and still be participating in Taka Matsuri.

Some guidelines / notes / etc…

This is pretty much the same as it’s been but…

1) If you want to participate but don’t necessarily want to have Taka content on your blog you are welcome to send whatever unhinged Taka thoughts you have directly to me. I will accept and post them without judgement (I only ask that you tell me it’s for Taka Matsuri, and keep it within the realms of decency. Also hate will be deleted)

2) remember to interact with other people’s Taka Matsuri posts!! The whole goal of this is to talk about Taka and have fun doing it so let’s give extra love to whatever is created as part of this event.

3) please tag your Taka Matsuri posts with “team Taka matsuri” or “Taka matsuri”. I really want to be able to see all the things made for this event.

Jugo hates fireworks.

That’s actually not true. In all honesty Jugo loves the exploding colors that paint the night sky. They sparkle brightly and all Jugo wishes to do is stare at their beauty in awe. What he actually hates is the noise.

Loud noises have always triggered Jugo into a fight or flight response causing him to lose control. It’s scary, especially now that he is no longer alone. Now he’s a part of a team, people he’s grown to care for as friends, friends that all he wants to do is protect. Still, for the first time in his life Jugo feels a sense of control of himself.

So when Karin offhandedly mentions wanting to go to a festival and see the fireworks in town Jugo slightly panic. He declines, making up an excuse of not feeling well enough to going out but Karin can tell he’s lying. Suigetsu tries to get him to come but Karin tells him to just let Jugo be, believing he just didn’t want to be crowded by so many people.

Sasuke however notices that Jugo seemed a lot more panicked than he usually gets. He tells Karin and Suigetsu to go without them. The two leave promising to find food to bring back.

Once the two leave Sasuke and Jugo sit in silence, but this silence is different. Sasuke looks over at Jugo, who is rocking back and forth with his hands over his ears.

“Jugo…”

“I don’t want to hurt you guys. I care about all of you but I’m going to hurt someone.”

“Jugo, remember that I will be your cage.” Sasuke cusps Jugo’s check with his hand. “As long as I’m here I won’t let you hurt anyone, including yourself.”

A tear slides down Jugos check and Sasuke quickly wipes it away with his thumb. “I love fireworks. I love the colors but the noise…”

Sasuke takes in the information but doesn’t know what to say. Eventually, Karin and Suigetsu come back with a whole bunch of different food. Karin pulls out a blanket to lay on the floor and the group has a picnic indoors.

While the three are distracted Sasuke goes out to ‘borrow’ some sparklers. When he brings them back the four do what they do best and be chaotic.

Karin tries to make pretty patterns with the smoke but Suigetsu keeps ruining the designs and attempting to get Sasuke to sword fight him with the sparklers. Sasuke claims he only joined in because he doesn’t need Suigetsu’s ego to get any bigger, it’s totally not because he is enjoying himself. Jugo enjoys staring at the brightness of the sparkler and actually feel himself relaxed.

They all come from different nations, belong to different clans, and barely anything in common, but that’s what made them special. Taka had no reason to stay together, yet they continue to work together side by side.

For the first time in years Jugo feels a chuckle escape his lips.

Jugo hates fireworks, but sparklers are a nice substitution.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, seafoam green eyes slowly opened. Sakura and the others watched in amazement as he slowly sat up, looking around with confusion and wonder. The wind had died down, and the air was still and calm, as if nature knew that something momentous had just occurred.

Naruto rushed to Gaara's side, and Temari was hugging her brother, tears streaming down their faces. Sakura felt a lump form in her throat as she watched the scene unfold.

Someone who should have died or you would not change their death: Gaara’s father. My god, did he have it coming!

Who do you ship Naruto with: Hinata; they’re boring as a married couple, but I imagine they have a secret kinky side.

Who do you ship with Sasuke: Karin, because all the biting is hot. Mmm, hurt me! Also, I like their chemistry.

Which character do you think looks good with everybody: I don’t ship characters because they “look good together.” That’s fucking stupid.

Hottest female character: Though I think Kurenai’s the prettiest, I’ll go with Mei. I will not say Anko, because that just feels like wanking.

Would you eat Ramen: I have. Dango is better.

What would be your ‘ninja way’: To serve a great master.

What is your opinion of the ninja world (like how Jiraiya discusses in his book): It’s cruel and corrupt.

Which character would you have liked to see drunk: Always Lee! More drunk Lee!

What do you think Kakashi’s book Icha Icha really says?: Whatever nasty filth Jiraiya wrote.

Pro-ending or anti-ending: It could’ve been better, but there are some good points.

How would your version of Naruto ending and Boruto play out (don’t be shy, make it VERY LONG, out touch the smallest details):  Orochimaru and Anko reconcile and marry, we get some backstory for Choji and Karui’s love, as well as Lee and Metal’s mom, Log gets more scenes, Mitsuki is the main protagonist, and Boruto gets the shit kicked out of him till he learns to behave. And maybe we could bring Jiraiya back to life…?

Seeking to expand their horizons, Byakuya and Kūkaku get Ichigo and Rukia to show them some “modern” attractions that the Living World has to offer. They get taken to a video game arcade. (Byakuya is horribly overdressed.) 

Things are fairly sedate until they spot the DDR machine. They don’t leave it until much later.

Kūkaku’s favorite song is “Daikenkai” by DES-ROW. Byakuya’s favorite song is “Sakura” by RevenG. (He has a tendency toward dramatic gestures while playing. Ichigo’s favorite song is “DXY!” by TaQ, Rukia’s is “MOONLIGHT SHADOW (New Vocal Version)” by MISSING HEART)

Needless to say, Byakuya and Kūkaku decide to order a machine and take it back with them to the Kuchiki Manor. It is the first of many. Some of the spare ones eventually wind up in the 6th Division’s barracks.

It starts to spread from there. Pretty soon there are competitions. Everyone vaguely involved has their favorite song. (Not comprehensive.)
