     "This couldn't have waited!?" He growls, trying not to take notice of the pile of now-destroyed eggman robots at their feet beginning to spark far more aggressively than before. "Can you hurry up? I'd like to leave before we get blown to pieces."

"Huh? Oh, this is nothing, I'm okay!" Blaze is at her side, attentive in a way that nobody else ever is, and Amy feels a little — just a little! — flustered. A hand rises to press to her cheeks as if to hide the heat there. What a weird reaction! She supposes she's just not used to anyone focusing on her this much. It's only a few bruises! "Getting a little beat up sorta comes with the territory of fighting with a hammer, y'know!"

Amy can tell by the pain that there's a dark stain blooming across their mouth, against their lip — a little split, not bad. It'll heal in a matter of days, and Amy's strong enough to take it. Hard battles leave bruises sometimes, and that's okay! Blaze knows that, and they can tell there's no condescension or pitying past the concern, the way there is, sometimes, from people who don't understand how it works. Still, there's — something. Blaze breathes out a breath of concern, pretty eyes lingering on the bruise that comes so close to their mouth, and for a moment her eyes look like they're lingering on her mouth, and that has her cheeks heating further for reasons Amy can't articulate, let alone right now.

"Uh — uh! What about you?" Amy steps closer, hands raising and hoving around the other's body, as if she'll be able to sense any wounds. "Are you okay?"

This is what friendship is all about, babie. You either need to be chatty enough to match Mei's insane energy ( MK ) or quiet enough to appreciate somebody who can fill the silence on your behalf ( Blaze, apparently! ) — Mei's got no real preference. She nods at the other's explanation. "Oh, COOL! Mine's hereditary, too." Mei mirrors the other's movement, a hand raising so that green flames can dance in her palm. Her hand falls a moment later. "It felt like a curse to me at first, and I still kinda feel that way on the bad days." YOU NEVER EVEN TOLD ME I HAD THIS THING INSIDE ME! "But it lets me protect the people I care about, so! That's worth something!" Nevermind that she never uses those abilities if she can avoid it. Not worth thinking about.

"Oh, yeah! So, I dunno if you've ever heard the story of the Monkey King, Sun Wukong? He's my bestie's mentor, now! He's really bad at it!" The words are as cheerful as ever — ignore the way flames spark around her knuckles at the mention. "Anyway, in the stories, there's the Dragon of The West, named Ao Lie. Well, he's my great - great - great - times - a - thousand Grandpa! So I'm part dragon, too! That's most of why the fire powers didn't kill me on the spot; dragons handle fire a lot better than humans, y'know?"

       Wow. This girl can talk.

     It's not a negative thing — quite the opposite, really. Blaze has always preferred those who can fill the void of conversation for her; listening is easier, and boy, there is a lot to listen to right now. She's been doing so, attentively, for the past... ten? Fifteen minutes? It's hard to say, but the story is interesting, as is Mei's enthusiasm (reminding her of someone else she knows).

     "That is... certainly a less than ideal way to find out, yes. I can only imagine your stress." Blaze replies. "Though, it's good to have those you can trust. I'm happy to hear your situation has improved." Her use of the word "prommy" makes for a raised brow, because what just happened to her mouth, but the point gets across. "I received my powers at a young age; more time has been spent with them than without." She lifts a hand at eye level, watching a small stroke of fire dance around her fingers. "Before me, they belonged to my mother. They're inherited by each reigning sovereign of my kingdom. It is..." a curse, she thinks, then: "A gift."

     A closed fist extinguishs the flame. "Tell me more about your abilities. There was brief mention of a dragon?"
