5 Easy Ways To Improve Salesforce Data Backup Recovery Strategy
In today's data-driven world, businesses rely heavily on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems like Salesforce to manage their customer information, track sales, and drive growth. However, even the most robust platforms are not immune to data loss or system failures. That's why having a solid Salesforce data backup and recovery strategy is crucial for ensuring business continuity. In this blog post, we'll explore five easy ways to enhance your Salesforce data backup and recovery strategy.
Regularly Scheduled Backups:
The foundation of any effective data recovery strategy is regular data backups. Salesforce provides a built-in data export tool that allows you to export data in a structured format, such as CSV or Excel. Set up a routine schedule for these exports to ensure that your data is backed up consistently. Depending on your organization's needs, you may choose to perform daily, weekly, or monthly backups.
Automate Your Backups:
Manually exporting data can be time-consuming and prone to errors. To streamline the process, consider automating your Salesforce data backups using third-party backup solutions. These tools can schedule and execute backups automatically, ensuring that your data is consistently and reliably backed up without manual intervention.
Store Backups Securely:
Backing up your Salesforce data is only half the battle. Equally important is where you store those backups. Utilize secure and redundant storage solutions, such as cloud storage platforms like Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage. Implement encryption and access controls to safeguard your backups from unauthorized access.
Test Your Recovery Process:
Having backups is essential, but they're only as good as your ability to recover data from them. Regularly test your data recovery process to ensure that it works as expected. Document the steps, and make sure that your team is familiar with the recovery procedures. Conducting mock recovery drills can help identify and address any potential issues before they become critical.
Monitor and Alerting:
Proactive monitoring is key to identifying data backup and recovery issues early. Implement monitoring and alerting systems that notify you of any backup failures or anomalies. This way, you can take immediate action to rectify issues and minimize data loss in case of a failure.
Consider Salesforce Data Archiving:
As your Salesforce database grows, it can become challenging to manage large volumes of data efficiently. Salesforce offers data archiving solutions that allow you to move older or less frequently accessed data to a separate storage location. This can help reduce storage costs and improve system performance, making your data recovery strategy more manageable.
In conclusion, enhancing your Salesforce data backup and recovery strategy doesn't have to be complicated. By implementing these five easy steps, you can significantly improve your organization's ability to recover critical data in the event of data loss or system failures. Remember that data is the lifeblood of your business, and a robust backup and recovery strategy is your insurance policy against unforeseen disasters.

Why Business Owners Should Use Accounting Software for Their Small Businesses?

Introduction
Business expansion is characterized by commercial, industrial, professional, and services expansion. The growth of one induces the growth of the other three.
When either of these increases, it calls for more and more data and numbers, information to be precise. Information about product whereabouts, customer details, staff details, maintenance, and many more tertiary sector activities.
Business, be it small or big, should be handled carefully and precisely so as to avoid unnecessary losses. Big companies making far bigger profits can afford human resources as well as AI which is not so in the case of small budding businesses.
Human resources can be considered one of the most expensive of all the resources in the long run if we talk about small businesses. So, for them, the best solution lies in seeking low-cost affordable AI accounting software which can be easily manhandled with as few people involved as possible.
Availability of a variety of accounting software is no new thing in this modern-technology-driven world. Hundreds of IT companies provide such services in the market. But are they low cost? The answer is “No”.
Just a few companies in this field are known for their quality low-cost services which are user-friendly and convenient to learn.
Let’s learn the advantages of using accounting software in some more detail.
Why Do Small Businesses Need Accounting Software?
We’ll talk about some technical terms here, terms which hold universal importance in businesses
Management:
Managing all the tasks accurately and effectively is itself a big deal and more often a problem. One is unable to keep track of stock management, expiry management, and rack management alone.
Accounting software with inventory management comes into force here. They keep track of stock whereabouts, closing, opening, sales, purchase, shortage, expiry, distributor's detail, rack no., section name, etc.
Accounting software can do much more than just calculation.
Alerts:
Alert notifications are the best reminder tools to let you know when a product is due or expired, supply awaited or late, payment expected or outstanding, data and system backup, etc.
This alert system not only works for you but can also be made to send alerts to customers and suppliers thus pushing sales.
Customer Behaviour Forecasting:
While billing, the software suggests related products based on customer purchases which can contribute to better sales of the store or business.
Invoicing & Billing:
The main and most important function of any business is invoicing and billing which can not and should not afford to have any errors. Moreover, tracking and managing physical invoices is difficult. Accounting software uproots unnecessary data redundancy and data duplication whilst giving much-needed systematic accessibility and storage of transactions to the handler.
Cashless Payment System:
Online transactions are the new trend as they are convenient. In addition, it provides the dealer with a fraud-free way to receive money as there is no one involved between the customer and the bank. The owner can issue some guidelines to verify and confirm payments to avoid losses. Also, it provides a variety of gateways to process the transaction like a credit card, debit card, UPI, etc.
Collaborative E-commerce:
Collaborating and integrating supplier chains with the retailer and increasing transparency online can be proven to be a vital boost to the online business as well. Customer experience & feedback enhances growth and so are ratings and popularity or rather a familiarity.
Compliance Management:
Along with stock management, accounting software also provides compliance or license management. Important licenses regarding the business can be stored safely and securely in the accounting software. It’s one ideal destination for a number of services. It can also be used as an employee management system. Details about employees like date of joining, department, salary, age, contact details, address, etc.
Accounting software also takes care of tax compliances and is proven especially useful when working with multiple tax rates. It prepares tax summary reports for better understanding.
Timesheets:
Keeping a record of the time spent on a project also affects its pricing and logging and ultimately its market value. Overbilling or underbilling of a product can be avoided by timesheets. Timesheets undertake information regarding project duration, no. of parties involved, no. of employees involved, and services involved.
Report Generation:
Accounting software generates daily reports, weekly reports, monthly reports, and annual reports based on the trends of sales and purchases. It includes analyzing, recording, tracking, and organizing purchases made in the specified time period. It provides a systematic way to store financial trends and growth patterns of the company so as to improve the quality of decision-making for the ultimate goal of profit-making.
Updated new-age software also includes the facility to generate data in the form of balance sheets, profit, and loss statements, and cash flow statements, the three key elements of accounting for an organization.
Which Is The Right And Promising Product?
A very legitimate question with an answer that’ll give small businesses what they need to autopilot their businesses. The accounting software that you choose should be capable of cutting down costs, enhancing efficiency, and boosting the sales graph upwards.

6 Best Practices for Salesforce Data Governance
Not all data is created equal. Duplicate records, miscalculated reports, and outdated information are all examples of data that don’t offer benefits to your Salesforce environment. In fact, they can actively make it more difficult to utilize system data in an advantageous way.
Salesforce data governance is aimed at organizing your data in a useful way, while also improving the overall quality of available data.
But like any effort in Salesforce, the degree to which you see benefits will depend on how well you execute the task. Employing a generic Salesforce data governance plan won’t inherently improve your quality of data.
A data governance plan that is tailored to your needs—and put together with some best practices in mind—will provide the most benefits and serve your company moving forward.
But how do you know how to implement such a system? How do you personalize it to your Salesforce environment? And how do you ensure you are seeing the greatest return on your efforts?
Here are 6 best practices to keep in mind for Salesforce data governance:
1. Put Together a Data Governance Team
2. Establish a Salesforce Data Governance Framework
3. Archive Unused Data
4. Frequently Update Data Security Tactics
5. Documentation Must Be Maintained
6. Maintain a Current Data Backup
1. Put Together a Data Governance Team
Salesforce data governance is not a one-time task. It is an ongoing consideration that needs to be tended to by dedicated team members.
The first step toward a successful data governance effort is to put capable and talented members of your team in place to achieve your goals.
A senior executive should be designated as the manager of your data governance team. This role will be tasked with overseeing the various efforts and keeping everyone unified in their approach. Tracking progress through identifiable and measurable goals is an essential aspect of a successful data governance manager.
Areas such as IT, marketing, and finance departments will all need their own data governance leaders. These individuals will be in charge of establishing data governance efforts and then implementing them. They will work with the senior executive to ensure everyone’s on the same page.
Representatives within each of these departments will be in charge of monitoring data quality, producing reports after analyzing available data, and interpreting collected data for adherence to company standards. These advocates perform the functional tasks of the data governance strategy and report to their leaders.
2. Establish a Salesforce Data Governance Framework
The way in which your company collects, stores, and uses data needs to be governed by rules and identified processes. A framework of operations will define who will fill the roles stated above, as well as the exact duties expected of each role.
This will help ensure uniform handling of system data through stipulations of how data is to be gathered and stored.
A clear framework will make it much easier for team members to find and use applicable Salesforce data. This will be performed by utilization of a few key metrics:
· Quality Indicators
· Data Elements
· Policies and Processes
· Data Quality Rules
· Risk and Privacy Metrics
A Salesforce data governance framework should address three major aspects:
1. Discovery of Data: Define the data, its source, and how it relates to your business.
2. Execution of Governance: Essential process components such as managing data quality, addressing issues, protecting privacy, and more.
3. Monitor the Processes: Examine the success of your efforts and use the metrics to improve processes.
3. Archive Unused Data
Your Salesforce environment is going to grow over time. Data and metadata are going to grow along with it. Salesforce data governance depends on your ability to stay on top of active data and organize it in a useful manner.
Data that has potential to be useful but isn’t currently needed can be moved off-platform to long term storage. This is called “data archiving” and it can further streamline your Salesforce environment.
Removing this data from your system makes it easier to stay on top of currently useful data. Your team will have less data to sort through. And when it comes time to backup your Salesforce environment, the process will be quicker.
4. Frequently Update Data Security Tactics
Salesforce data governance might include moving data sets to new locations. This means data security measures are going to need constant attention to ensure sensitive or otherwise important information doesn’t become compromised.
Data security needs to be a constant concern when arranging and addressing various data governance considerations.
Protecting your system data—as well as that of your employees, vendors, and more—must be maintained as you sort and verify your Salesforce data. Depending on your industry, there may be government regulations in place that stipulate exactly how this must be done. But every business—regardless of industry—needs to maintain adequate levels of data security.
5. Documentation Must Be Maintained
The representatives from each department should work with their teammates to ensure each piece of analyzed and organized data is documented so it can be found when it is needed. There isn’t much of a point to working through a Salesforce data governance strategy if the end result isn’t usable.
Consistent communication is essential to keep your data repositories organized and optimized.
Every member of your team will be better able to complete their tasks when they have all the information they need.
6. Maintain a Current Data Backup
Backing up your data is an essential aspect of a successful Salesforce data governance strategy. Your data needs to be organized and optimized, but what happens when you lose access to your data altogether?
Data loss events are unfortunately common—whether due to cybercriminals, natural disasters, or accidental deletions. A current backup is necessary to quickly returning to service.
Finding a reliable Salesforce data backup and recovery solution like AutoRABIT will ensure that your backup repository will be current.

How to Choose the Right Accounting Software for Your Dubai Business
Choosing the right accounting software is crucial for any business, especially in a dynamic and fast-growing market like Dubai. With its diverse economy and regulatory environment, Dubai offers unique challenges and opportunities for businesses. Whether you’re a startup, SME, or a large corporation, selecting the right accounting software can streamline your financial operations, ensure compliance, and boost productivity. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you make an informed decision.
1. Understand Your Business Needs
Before diving into the options, it's essential to assess your business needs. Consider the following:
Size of Your Business: The needs of a small startup differ significantly from those of a large corporation. Ensure the software you choose can scale with your business.
Industry Requirements: Different industries have specific needs. For example, a construction company may need job costing features, while a retail business may require robust inventory management.
Specific Features: Identify the key features you need, such as invoicing, payroll, tax management, financial reporting, or inventory tracking.
2. Consider Cloud-Based vs. On-Premises Solutions
Dubai’s tech-savvy market is increasingly favoring cloud-based solutions due to their flexibility and cost-effectiveness. Here’s a comparison:
Cloud-Based Accounting Software: Offers accessibility from anywhere with an internet connection, real-time data updates, and automatic backups. Popular options include QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Zoho Books.
On-Premises Software: Installed locally on your company’s hardware, offering more control over data security. Examples include Tally.ERP 9 and Sage 50.
For most businesses in Dubai, cloud-based solutions are preferable due to their ease of use, lower upfront costs, and scalability.
3. Ensure Compliance with Local Regulations
Dubai has specific regulatory requirements, including VAT compliance and financial reporting standards. Make sure the software you choose supports:
VAT Management: The software should handle VAT calculations, filing, and reporting efficiently. Features like VAT return preparation and e-filing are crucial.
Local Accounting Standards: Ensure the software complies with the UAE Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
4. Evaluate Usability and User Experience
A user-friendly interface can significantly enhance your team’s productivity. Consider:
Ease of Use: Look for software with an intuitive interface and minimal learning curve. Many solutions offer free trials, so take advantage of these to test usability.
Training and Support: Check if the software provider offers comprehensive training and customer support. Local support can be particularly beneficial for resolving issues quickly.
5. Check Integration Capabilities
Your accounting software should seamlessly integrate with other business systems to streamline operations. Key integrations to consider include:
ERP Systems: Integration with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle can enhance overall business efficiency.
CRM Software: Integration with customer relationship management (CRM) tools like Salesforce can help streamline sales and financial processes.
Payment Gateways: Ensure compatibility with popular payment gateways for smooth online transactions.
6. Review Cost and Value for Money
While budget is a crucial factor, the cheapest option may not always be the best. Consider:
Pricing Structure: Look at subscription fees, setup costs, and any hidden charges. Compare the cost of different plans and what they offer.
Return on Investment (ROI): Evaluate the software’s potential to save time and reduce errors, ultimately enhancing your bottom line.
7. Assess Security Features
Data security is paramount, especially with the increasing threats of cyberattacks. Ensure the software has robust security features, such as:
Data Encryption: Encrypt sensitive data to protect against unauthorized access.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Enhance security with MFA to prevent unauthorized logins.
Regular Backups: Check if the software provides automated backups to safeguard your data.
8. Seek Customer Reviews and References
Customer reviews and testimonials can provide valuable insights into the software’s performance and customer service. Look for:
Online Reviews: Check platforms like Capterra, G2, or Trustpilot for user feedback.
Case Studies: Request case studies or speak with current users in Dubai to understand their experiences.
9. Consider Future-Proofing
Choose software that is continuously updated to keep up with technological advancements and regulatory changes. Look for:
Regular Updates: Ensure the software provider offers regular updates to improve functionality and security.
Scalability: Opt for a solution that can grow with your business, accommodating new features and additional users without significant upgrades.
10. Demo and Trial Period
Before making a final decision, take advantage of demo versions or free trials. This hands-on experience will help you:
Test Functionality: Evaluate the software’s features, performance, and ease of use.
Gather Feedback: Involve your team in the trial to gather their feedback on usability and functionality.
Conclusion
Choosing the right Accounting software Dubai business is a strategic decision that can significantly impact your financial management and operational efficiency. By understanding your needs, evaluating different options, and considering local regulations and future growth, you can select a solution that not only meets your current requirements but also supports your long-term business goals. Whether you opt for a cloud-based system or an on-premises solution, ensure it aligns with your vision for growth and innovation in Dubai’s vibrant business landscape.

4 Practical Steps for Vendor Cloud Backup

When you entrust your business data to a cloud-based platform, you expect it to be safe and sound. However, most cloud platforms like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and Salesforce acknowledge their backup shortcomings and recommend having an additional backup and recovery solution for your cloud-based data.
This is because cloud-based platforms often have limited data restoration capabilities, which can lead to data loss in the event of an outage or data corruption.
Unfortunately, many organizations like yours realize a backup is necessary only after their valuable data is lost. Don’t hesitate to deploy a robust backup and recovery solution to safeguard your cloud-based data. Before you get started, knowing best practices can help you get the most bang for your buck.
The four best practices
Here are four practical steps that you can use to ensure your backup journey is smooth:
Set your expectations
When you subscribe to a cloud-based platform, you generally get some level of backup and recovery baked into it. However, will that be sufficient? The best way to find out is to read through the vendor’s terms and conditions (T&Cs) to see what type of backup they have in place.
Even if a vendor says that backup is included, you need to know what they actually mean. For example, some cloud-based service providers may only back up data once per day, while others may back up data in real time.
To reiterate, reading through your vendor’s T&Cs is the first step to ensuring your valuable data doesn’t vanish into thin air.
Fine-tune your backup
You should customize your backup to meet your needs; otherwise, you run the risk of using the solution either insufficiently or excessively.
To successfully fine-tune your backup, you may need to consider several factors. For instance, you must know how quickly data changes to decide how frequently to back up data.
Other factors must also be taken into consideration when deciding the frequency of data backups, such as the amount of data and the data type and importance.
Test your backup regularly
Anyone who has ever lost data understands the importance of backup. However, having a backup isn’t enough unless you test it on a regular basis to ensure it’s working properly and that you’ll be able to access your data when needed.
By testing it regularly, you will be able to catch issues early and fix them before it escalates into something severe.
So, how often should you test your backup? The answer may vary depending on your backup system and how crucial your data is, but as a general rule, it’s a good idea to test your backup at least once a week.
Stay up to date on the security landscape
As the digital world becomes increasingly complex, so does the security risks landscape. With the vast array of devices and applications we use, it’s crucial to be aware of the different ways your data could be compromised and have strategies in place to prevent them.
This is critical for both survival and competition. If you’re ready to deal with any threat that may arise, your organization’s chances of survival increase significantly. This strategy will also give you an advantage over your competitors because you are now far more resilient than you were previously.
An IT service provider can help
If you’re working alone, following the above best practices may be difficult since you have a lot of organizational matters to handle. This is where an IT service provider can help.
We can collaborate with you to create a backup plan that meets your needs and budget and provide support and maintenance to keep your data safe. Feel free to contact us for a no-obligation consultation.
