I do not particularly believe anyone will find these little pseudo-ocs of mine too interesting, but I am proud of them, so I will post them here!
I say 'pseudo-ocs' because they're actually me and my friends slugcats in co-op! (Except for the slugpup we found.)
This is Tenacious (Green NSH-looking one), Halycon (Blue slug), Parvenu (Dev-Tool god thing), and Ribo (Little pup!)
These little guys do not have a real story yet, only lore and the fact we play them in-game. They are very cute though, so I hope you enjoy them :]
I’ve been trying to figure out what K.P Hob’s full name is and considering the naming conventions for most of the Goblin Court, my current theory is that it’s something along the line of ‘Kill Penis’ or ‘Kidney Pearl’ or ‘Kludge Parvenu’.
watched a ds9 episode last night that clearly should have ended with the reveal that miles o'brien did survival cannibalism in his traumatising 20-year mental prison simulation. anyway i find it so fascinating how o'brien and bashir's male bonding playtime activites are soooo heavily them larping the writers' idea of english masculinity (holosuite sims of the battle of britain, fighter pilots, medieval 'anglo saxon' looking conquerors; singing that english drinking song; the whole ass episode of bashir getting trapped in his james bond sim). my boyfriend said the writers probably weren't even aware they were doing it which is why it passes without comment and that's probably true but it's impossible to read this in any way besides the heavy suggestion that characters who despite timeline are easily identifiable as subjects of british colonialism aspire to a specifically english masculinity as their model of cultural superiority/improvement and their means to self-actualisation. which is just. lmao
tagged by @elavoria for a wip extract... have something from this very evening in fact. in which the protagonist robs a bookshop and i realise that this wip is just a pile of innuendo
Last night, Monsieur, was a step too far, but assuredly it was not out of malice: indeed it was in imitation if your own virtue, perhaps, that I went into your shop, and found a coveted wealth, in the volume which i took. I return it with this letter and my apology, but likewise with the observation, Monsieur, that you also go by night into houses which are not yours, and take wealths which belong to others.
Letizia’s reply to a letter from Caroline after the death of Napoleon:
If you only ask news of me to soothe your own affliction, I can tell you that everything that has been suggested to assuage an inexpressible grief has not allowed me to shed a single tear.
All that remains of such a son is an inanimate corpse at St. Helena! Alas, what can I say to you? Leave me alone to drag out my days in sorrow. Conserve yourself for your children and put an end to your grief.
