Overrides, Eyelashes & More

A few months in the making!

Today, we're releasing our highly sought-after overrides - head, body, and hooves overrides for adult & elder horses only!

These are realistic overrides, so if you're more of a maxis-match player, these may not be your style.

To go along with these, we've got new body overlays and a head overlay!

And now that these are all released, we can finally drop our eyes and eyelash styles (plus a feathering option we made out of boredom).

This post contains..

Head Override, Body Override, and Hooves Override Realistic and what our sliders will work best with! A refined head, some major leg improvements, and beautiful hooves (not like those box hooves EA gave us).

Baroque Body Overlay, Draft Body Overlay, Early Pregnancy Overlay, Late Pregnancy Overlay, Underweight Overlay, and Overweight Body Overlay These were all made before we even knew of MorphMaker being updated, but they took some time and could still come in handy! Hair and equipment does not morph with these, so keep this in mind. All of these come in four slot options - horn, feathers, hat, and tail.

Round Croup Body Overlay, Sloped Croup Body Overlay, and Arabian Croup Body Overlay Some temporary croup options whilst we wait for MorphMaker to be fixed! These will not work while using other body overlays, so keep this in mind. These are currently only horn slot options, but feather slot options will be added in the future.

Face Fix For Sliders A quick fix for the extreme deformity caused by the Nose Placement Slider. It's not perfect but it does help! Technically, it is a head overlay. This is a horn option.

Realistic Horse Eyes 2 Pt. 2 New eye styles! Heterochromia included. Non-replacer eyes. 48 swatches.

Eyelashes v1 and v2 Shorter and longer styles of eyelashes made specifically for our body overrides! Both of these come in two slot options - horn and feathers. 20 swatches each.

Spiked Feathers A new feathering option with just a little spike of hair! Perfect for those light Irish Draughts.

Notes:

Please remember to remove any overrides you have in your Mods folder before installing ours! You'll know if you have any laying around if the head and top of the neck and the bottom of the legs and the hooves don't match up well.

Our body overlays are made for our overrides - you can use them with other overrides, but they will not line up correctly.

You cannot use our croup body overlays with our other body overlays.

Our old body overlays will not line up correctly with these overrides.

Our eyelashes are made for our overrides - you can use them with other overrides, but they will not line up correctly. They do morph with our sliders, however.

Enhanced Horse Neck Slider

This is a replacement for EA's neck slider (however, you can still use EA's neck sliders!)

This is an all-in-one slider which includes 7 sliders total.

Crested Neck/Neck Underneath Slider (up and down, left and right, left view) Please see notes.

Breast Angle (up and down, right view)

Breast Depth (left and right, right view)

Wither Height (up and down, quarter left view) Please see notes.

Wither Width (up and down, back view)

Shoulder Width (left and right, back view)

You can still use EA's neck sliders using the front and quarter right views (please see Notes).

I've done very little testing outside of CAS with this, so please feel free to let me know of any issues you run into! Everything seems to work quite nicely with CAS poses, which is a good sign.

Should anyone else create a neck slider, this mod will NOT be compatible - you will have to decide between them.

Once I have finished more of my planned sliders, I will create a cheat sheet to help you easily remember which view and direction is what slider!

Update: 13/05/2024 - increased the breast depth as per request.

The Crested Neck/Neck Underneath slider is a WIP - I believe there is an issue with MorphMaker that meant I couldn't create these sliders in the way I hoped, and instead had to use a Bone Delta. This means that it is a little wonky (as you can probably tell). I will probably continue to work on this, and hopefully the issue is fixed in the future so I can redo this slider entirely. Some poses may also be a little bit distorted. The EA body size slider and neck sliders will increase the size of the crested neck, so keep this in mind. Slide up in the left view (this is the Neck Underneath slider) to fix the awkward bump that the Crested Neck slider can create.

I had the same issue with the Wither Height slider, which is why it affects so much of the body. Bone Deltas give you much less control over what bits move and scale. I may work on this in the future.It can be difficult to access the quarter left and right views - you must keep slightly rotating your horse until you find this angle. This can be annoying, but it's the only way to fully maximise the potential of sliders!

Any distortion you may experience with equipment is likely not fixable.

The GIFs help to demonstrate the angle you need to use these sliders, just like any EA ones.

The Sims 4: Horse Ranch.

Hey, quit horsin' around.

No. Wait. Ignore that. Do keep horsing around. We are asking you quite specifically to horse around. It is vital that you keep things equestrian. You know the drill: large, four-legged, single-toed, a flowing mane, at least 14.2 hands (58 inches, 147 cm) or over, and Mammalia. Got time to kill? Then walk. Going more places a little more promptly? Then trot. Need to get somewhere fast? Well canter, of course. And if it's urgent (think: Run, Shadowfax, show us the meaning of haste!), then gallop. Whatever you do, do not stop horsing around. 

Do excuse us. It appears we have become a little side-tracked. By way of explaining our horse-themed behavior, we have an update about, well, an update. It's almost, so very nearly Horse Ranch time on The Sims 4, and there is a big new patch in preparation.  

It's been a long old wait folks, and your patience will soon be rewarded. The community over at #ts4 is getting excited. Come join.
