7. a book you did not finish Baking Cakes in Kigali by Gaile Parkin was one of my book club books this year and I really loved ... the first chapter 😅 I couldn't get through the rest of it though, don't know why

17. a book with a yellow cover Surrender Your Sons by Adam Sass - a brutal but delightful thriller about a group of kids trying to escape a conversion camp

27. a book with a purple cover Trouble Girls by Julia Lynn Rubin - a thrilling story about two girls who accidentally commit a crime and have to make a run for it

47. a book that mentions a place in the title Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas - everyone always shouts the praises of Cemetery Boys but this was a lovely Peter Pan retelling that took things in such an interesting direction

67. your favourite historical fiction novel Nothing Sung and Nothing Spoken by Nita Tyndall - a beautiful story about four teenage girls living in Berlin at the outbreak of World War II and how they clashed against privilege and found ways to resist the regime

77. a book so useless that you could use it as a coaster had to dig back through the depths of my memory for this one but Need by Carrie Jones. it was a carbon copy of Twilight right down to the phrasing in the first chapter. I did not make it very far into that one and I'm still very glad that I only spent $2 on it lol

87. a book with a predictable ending Would You Rather by Alison Ashley was predictable from start to finish but that's what I want in a romance novel so I didn't mind <3

97. a book with a hospital setting The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley by Shaun David Hutchinson - an emotional story about a boy living in a hospital that went in a very unexpected direction

107. your favourite book in a different language Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist - originally written in Swedish, this book is absolutely amazing despite its gritty, gory violence. I'm still unbelievably impressed with how the translation I read managed to maintain the themes and atmosphere of the story

117. your favourite anthology Unbroken: 13 Stories Starring Disabled Teens by Marieke Nijkamp! it should be on everyone's shelf to be honest

127. a book you'd read when you're missing somebody I read Ferdinand by Munro Leaf when I'm missing my dad. it was his favourite story to read to me when I was little. when I read it, I can hear his voice again <3

7. a book you did not finish

The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. It's so good, but I've dnfed it three times at the halfway point, and I don't really know why. I'm actually reading it again right now, and my goal of the month is to finally finish it!

I don't really read heist books. But I'm pretty sure The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch would count, and I enjoyed that.

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen, which I just learned to love last month!

Umm...I don't really know. I'm assuming this means bonking your head with the book in a bad way? Because you're frustrated with the characters or the writing or something? Or maybe just because it's a difficult book? I honestly just don't have one for this.

67. your favourite historical fiction novel

Everything by Sarah Waters, but if I have to just pick one, I'll go with The Little Stranger.

77. a book so useless that you could use it as a coaster

Lying: A Metaphorical Memoir by Lauren Slater. It's a memoir about Slater's life with epilepsy, except she doesn't have epilepsy; she's using it as a metaphor. You never know when she's telling the truth or making stuff up. I had to read it for my memoir course, and I hated it.

87. a book with a predictable ending

I read a lot of fairy tale retellings, and many of those (though definitely not all) have predictable endings because they follow the original stories. I'll go with Beauty by Robin McKinley. Sure, you're aware the whole time of how it will end, but it's still a wonderful read.

97. a book with a hospital setting

I had a hard time with this one, but I've settled on Jill by Amy Dillwyn. It's not fully set at a hospital, but part of it is and what happens is wild. 😆

107. your favourite book in a different language

The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa is a new favorite of mine. It was originally written in Japanese, and I read the English translation by Philip Gabriel.

117. your favourite anthology

I'm generally not a big anthology person, but I really liked The Secret History of Fantasy edited by Peter S. Beagle. There are some big name authors in there, including Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, and tons of others. And I really liked all the stories I've read out of it so far. I had to get it for my Fantasy Writing course in undergrad.

127. a book you'd read when you're missing somebody

Probably just the All for the Game series by Nora Sakavic because it's a comfort read for me. And if I'm missing someone, I generally need comfort. Although for certain people I might pick up a specific book I associate with them. For example, one of these days I'm going to pick up some of my brother's favorite books since I'm missing him a lot. If I want one I've read before, I'll go with either The Last Kingdom or The Winter King, both by Bernard Cornwell.

No but literally c!beeduo being an ambiguous realtionship is so important to me. It's started as platonic, and now it's tentatively cannon that it's romantic, and they have a son and they are husband's and they love each other and they just have such a wonderful relationship. If it's important to someone that's it's platonic, it can be interpreted as that and it fits and they still love eachother and it's awesome. If it's important to someone else that's it's romantic it can also be interpreted as that and they love eachother so much and it's so cool.

I personally lean ambiguous +romantic because I think of them as more kiss averse aces, which I am, because I can interpret tham as that because it fits and I feel like there are characters in media that are like me which is so cool.

It's just so special to me to think of them as this inbetween because their love is this beautiful, wonderful thing that's just a little bit more than friends but they don't really need or want to define it as romantic, and however you look at it, they love eachother so, so much.

c!beeduo are husband's who love eachother to the ends of the earth, in their own beautiful, special, wonderful, fluid way, and they defy expectations by not quite defining it, and giving the room for people to interpret it and feel connected to it whatever way they wish.

I decided to make versions of my oc, Middy, for different carnations of Tmnt!

Let’s start with:

87 Midnight!

Some facts about this middy (disclaimer: I don’t know 87 lore that well so if I get something wrong, feel free to correct me)

•she’s the same height as 87 Casey. Which means she can and has done this to the turtles

•Midnight is actually an Alias in this version. But you never find out her real name. To the point it’s a running gag that if someone says her real name or it’s gonna be shown on screen, it’ll be covered up in comedic ways.

•her age is unclear.

•she’s a former member of the foot clan and was trained under shredder. It was actually her betrayal that convinced shreds to switch to robots.

•her weapon of choice is a tanto blade.

•is an aspiring investigator and tends to get really into mysteries she’s trying to solve. To the point she’s accidentally abandoned the turtles in battle.

•lives with the turtles since she’s an orphan and is practically their sister

•any sass she throws is most likely an accidental roast or the result of her hanging out with raph.

•only person ballsy enough to just bonk Casey on the head when he’s being too extreme. It shockingly works but there’s no way anyone else is gonna try it.

•started out as a vigilante trying to stop shredder but got taken in by april when midnight got injured trying to stop one of shredders schemes. April thought splinter might know this girl. The rest is history.
