You know how the TMNT “don’t even use their weapons” in the 87 run?

You’ve got to acknowledge the control and restraint it takes for Leo and Raph to raise weapons frequently shown to be capable of slicing through metal like butter and manage to avoid making the villains of the week bleed in scuffles.

There’s always an argument to be had over how deadly the 1987 marshmallows actually are. It doesn’t help their case that when it comes up in any cross-dimensional episodes that work their way into a run that they’re played off as a bunch of lazy goofballs.

In the very first episode of 1987 TMNT Raphael attacks a foot soldier (and this stab looks directed under the rib cage, for the heart, that is a death blow) resulting in a metallic sound, to which he responds “Clang? Did you say clang?” and Leo lands a would-be fatal abdominal blow to a foot soldier to confirm they’re fighting robots. That other guy could have had hidden armour, Leo doesn’t know he’s fighting a robot yet, but would have outright killed this guy to gain the information. Mike and Donnie only leap into actual offensive attack mode after they realise there’s no risk of taking a life, which tells me they know they’re absolutely capable of it and were hesitating to engage.

I’m just not convinced they couldn’t hold their own in the 2012 world the way they were depicted, or are as incompetent as they’re so often painted. They’re naive and silly, it’s soft and fun and then Donatello murders an exact sentient clone of himself with his personality and memories (REAL). I just think there’s more to them than their cream-puff legacy.

Rottmnt Mikey is the shortest and I love that so much

also 2003 Donnie and 2012 being the same height caught me off guard lol.

I did so much googling to find all their heights, hell I probably got some wrong but tbh I don't care. and also these are the only versions I could find heights for, I tried to find the Mutant Mayhem babys heights but I couldn't find anything.

I thought about drawing over the dumb silhouette with their canon design but I'm tired so someone else can do it ig.

Alright class, on todays episode of turtle science, we’re talking about multiversal height differences!

In the 2012 and 1987 crossover, people have pointed out before that the 3 dimensional versions of 87 turtles are a decent chunk bigger than they should be. The funny thing is their height does seem accurate back in their world, it’s only when they travel over do we reach our problem.

Comparing the height differences between counterparts in the two dimensions, you can clearly see that there’s an attempt to gaslight us being made by Nickelodeon. I know Michelangelo is not that tall, he’s a lying punk.

We can assume then that the 3D-ificiation process makes these little green bitches bigger than they previously were.

Segue.

In turtles forever the 87 turtles heights remain consistent between universes further confirming this is a 2012 dimension thing, and in that movie the 87 turtles are fucking tiny. Because there’s no height change for them between home and 03 we can just assume 03 is a naturally bigger sized universe. How did I reach that conclusion? Fuck you.

03!Raph is like two foot taller which is an inaccurate measurement I just made the fuck up on the spot but the point still stands that he could step on 87!Donatello and not even notice.

The scientific conclusion you can draw from this hypotenuse is that if there was ever a 2003 crossover with 2012, not only would you have to consider how much bigger the 03 turtles are from the 87 turtles, you’d also have to consider how much bigger they’d then get when hit with the 3D beam.

The point being that this angry 5’5 beanpole would suddenly be hitting his head on every fucking door way because he’s now like 6 feet tall.
