The First Date - Chan
Tumblr media
Simptober First Dates M-List
Pairing: Chan (skz) x fem!reader
Genre: Fluff ;))))
Warnings: idk lmk
Notes: AHHHH first oneee sorry its a lil late :))
-please read responsibly, and remember that this work is fiction and meant strictly for imaginative fun. the idols used in fics are more accurately faceclaims and personality outlines for imaginary characters, and should not be interpreted as factual representations of existing people
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the bustling city where you both lived, amidst the cacophony of everyday life, something beautiful was beginning to blossom. You had crossed paths with Chan, a charming and familiar face from the cafe you worked at. He had been a regular customer, ordering his coffee with a smile that never failed to brighten your day. Little did you know that this routine interaction would eventually lead to a wonderful first date that you would remember for a long time.
It all began when Chan, mustering up his courage, approached you one day. Your heart raced as he casually asked, "Would you like to go out for a picnic next weekend?" You barely knew him beyond the confines of your workplace, but there was something in the way he looked at you, in the earnestness of his smile, that made it impossible for you to say no. You agreed with a shy smile and exchanged phone numbers, your excitement building as the days passed.
As the day of the picnic drew near, you couldn't help but feel a mixture of nervousness and anticipation. What if the conversation turned awkward? What if you had nothing in common? But there was a sense of adventure in not knowing, and you pushed aside your doubts.
The day finally arrived, and the sun was shining brightly. Chan had chosen a picturesque nature park for your rendezvous. It was a place of serene beauty, with winding paths, tall trees, and colorful wildflowers. The air was filled with the soothing sound of birdsong and the gentle rustling of leaves. It was the perfect setting for a first date, and you couldn't help but feel touched by his thoughtful choice.
He was already waiting when you arrived, a warm smile gracing his face as he waved you over. His eyes twinkled as he greeted you, and you felt your heart skip a beat. The awkwardness that hung in the air at the beginning of the date quickly gave way to the comfort of being in his presence.
You both laid out a blanket beneath a majestic oak tree, and the picnic basket he had brought held a delectable assortment of sandwiches, fruit, and a bottle of chilled sparkling water. The conversation started with some hesitance, but it soon began to flow naturally. You discovered that you shared a love for books and a passion for hiking, which made the day even more enjoyable.
As you ate and talked, Chan's smile became more frequent, and his laughter, oh, his laughter was like music to your ears. You found yourself drawn to the way his dimples deepened when he chuckled. It was in these moments that you realized just how much you liked him. The initial nervousness gave way to a sense of ease, as you both opened up about your dreams, your favorite childhood memories, and your quirkiest habits.
The hours passed by, and you couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness knowing that this beautiful day would come to an end. As you finished the last of your sandwiches, Chan hesitated for a moment, his gaze filled with anticipation. "So... will we meet again?" he asked, his voice laced with hope.
You pondered for a moment, your heart racing with excitement. "Hmmm," you said, playfully, "how about next Saturday, and I'll text you the address?" His face lit up with delight, and you knew you had made the right decision. "It's a date then! Yeah?" he exclaimed, his eyes shining with joy.
"Yup!" you replied with a grin. You gathered your bag and started to walk past him, but before fully leaving, you couldn't resist leaning in and giving him a gentle peck on the cheek. As you turned around, you couldn't see his face, but you could feel his warmth and the way his ears turned red. It was a moment of sweet connection, a silent promise of what the future might hold.
With the memories of that lovely day, you couldn't help but smile to yourself as you looked forward to your next rendezvous. In that serene nature park, amidst the heart-shaped bush and the whispered secrets of the trees, you had discovered something truly beautiful – a connection that had the potential to blossom into something magical. You were going to take it slow, savoring every moment, because you really did like him, and the feeling was undeniably mutual.

Exploring the Diverse World of Call Girls: Jodhpur to Bihar
In the realm of adult services and companionship, the landscape is vast and varied, offering experiences that cater to a wide array of desires and preferences. Among the intriguing facets of this world are the unique personas embodied by call girls from different regions of India, such as Jodhpur and Bihar. These places not only evoke distinct cultural flavors but also boast their own distinct nuances when it comes to the allure of companionship.
Jodhpur, known for its majestic forts and vibrant culture, is a city that encapsulates the spirit of Rajasthan. It's no surprise that the Jodhpur Call Girls embody a similar allure and charm. Picture this—a rendezvous with a Jodhpur call girl, dressed in colorful traditional attire, her eyes reflecting the desert sun, ready to whisk you away into a world of enchantment. These women often carry themselves with grace and elegance, offering companionship that is both engaging and culturally resonant.
The appeal of Jodhpur Call Girls extends beyond mere aesthetics. They are often well-versed in the art of conversation, possessing a deep understanding of local customs and traditions. This enriches the experience for those seeking not just physical intimacy but also intellectual stimulation.
On the other hand, Bihar presents a contrasting yet equally fascinating facet of the call girl industry. Bihar, with its rustic charm and deep-rooted heritage, is home to a different breed of companions. The Bihar Call Girls, with their earthy demeanor and innate warmth, offer a more laid-back and welcoming vibe.
Tumblr media
Engaging with a Bihar Call Girl might evoke a sense of familiarity, akin to spending time with an old friend. Their hospitality and down-to-earth nature can be quite refreshing for those seeking a more relaxed encounter. Imagine strolling along the serene riverbanks of the Ganges with a Bihar Call Girl, engaging in light-hearted banter, and soaking in the simplicity of life.
What's intriguing about these regional nuances is how they reflect the diversity of India itself. Each encounter with a call girl, whether from Jodhpur or Bihar, is an exploration of not just physical intimacy but also a cultural exchange—a journey into the heart of a region through the eyes of a captivating companion.
It's important to note that the world of call girls is as complex as it is fascinating. Beyond the exotic allure often associated with these encounters, there are real people with their own stories and aspirations. Many individuals choose this profession out of necessity rather than choice, often facing societal stigmas and challenges along the way.
The reality of Jodhpur Call Girls and Bihar Call Girls is not solely defined by stereotypes or fantasies but is shaped by the socio-economic landscape of their respective regions. Understanding and respecting this context is crucial when delving into the realm of adult services.
In recent years, there has been an ongoing conversation about the rights and dignity of sex workers, including call girls. Advocacy groups and activists emphasize the importance of decriminalization and ensuring basic rights and protections for individuals in this profession. Respectful engagement and ethical conduct are paramount when seeking companionship services.
As we navigate this intricate terrain, it's essential to approach encounters with Jodhpur Call Girls and Bihar Call Girls with empathy and mindfulness. These experiences offer more than just a fleeting escape—they can be windows into the rich tapestry of Indian culture and human connection.
In conclusion, the allure of call girls from Jodhpur to Bihar lies not just in the physical realm but in the cultural narratives they embody. Each encounter is a unique exploration of human desires, regional identities, and the complex realities of companionship in a diverse society. By embracing this diversity with respect and understanding, we can enrich our experiences and forge meaningful connections that transcend boundaries.

Top 10 best ideas to do in Maldives
Looking for things to do in Maldives? You’ve come to the right place. Visiting the Maldives will transport you to paradise. With luxury bungalows extending over turquoise waters reaching out from the white sand beaches, the Maldives is a dream destination.
Tumblr media
Top Things To Do In Maldives
It’s true, over the water bungalows are a spectacular sight and those images are what drew us to the Maldives in the first place. But are there things to do in Maldives besides relaxing? Definitely!
The Maldives are made for adventure, water sports, and romance. We stayed at two private islands in the Maldives but we managed to do several day trips to explore the surrounding atolls and the capital city of Male. These are the best things to do in the Maldives for everyone!
1 Book a Luxury Hotel
Tumblr media
Maldives has become the main luxury play ground in the world for newlyweds, surfers, divers, spa enthusiasts, sunbathers and even occasional celebrities. Synonyms for unsurpassed luxury, the
Maldives have the most expensive hotels on the planet, with rooms that match the archipelago's reputation. Those who have the opportunity to shell out - often more than $ 5,000 a night - for some of the most decadent luxury resort entertainment in the world will be spoiled for choice. Each resort is built on a private tropical island, providing exclusivity, tranquility and full privacy. Guests can choose between villas built on dazzling white sand on the beach or in bungalows located on stilts over the shimmering blue lagoons. The ultra-luxury spa, restaurants with Michelin stars, unsurpassed butler service and impressive wine cellars. To help you choose the right resort for your upcoming Maldivian rendezvous, we published a list of the 10 most preferred hotels in the Maldives, each with its own choice of luxury that made the Maldives so famous.
2 Seaplane Jorney
Tumblr media
For most travelers, the iconic image of the Maldives is a deep blue ocean dotted with tiny palm islands surrounded by crystal clear lagoons and sugar-white beaches. The only way to see this
spectacular view of 50 shades of blue is from the air and although you catch some shots while landing at Male airport, you will be offered the best viewpoint for spectacular panoramic views - on seaplane board. Indeed, while all hotels in the North and South Male Atolls use speedboats to / from the airport for guest transfers, more distant (and often more luxurious) resorts require a seaplane transfer with a flight duration from 20 minutes to one hour. Most of seaplane services in the Maldives are provided by Trans Maldivian Airways. A seaplane trip in the Maldives and admiration of a paradise archipelago from a bird's eye view is one of the most impressive experience that this destination can offer.
3 Stay at Water Villa
Tumblr media
Almost all water villas in the world are located in French Polynesia (the South Pacific) and in the Maldives, although there are some alternatives that can be found outside these unrivaled Bounty islands. Currently, there are about 8,000 overwater bungalows /
villas in the world, and about two thirds of them are in the Maldives. Staying in a luxury villa, standing on stilts over a beautiful stretch of turquoise lagoon, is highly appreciated by the most discerning travelers and for a certain reason. Indeed, it is difficult to overcome the desire to stay on a paradise island in a bungalow-style room, perched above the untouched waters, where immersion in the warm sea waters of the Indian Ocean is literally beyond your doorstep. The most exclusive Maldives' resorts offer a luxurious accommodation that will surpass your wildest dreams, with stunning amenities and views: from outdoor terraces and infinity pools to glass floor panels and retractable roofs, allowing guests to admire the fish schools below or look higher into the tropical starry sky.
4 Relaxation on the Magnificent Beaches
Tumblr media
Maldives is a paradise and one of the best beach destinations in the world, and it is very difficult to argue with this fact. More than 1000 islands are decorated with white sandy beaches and are surrounded by the most turquoise water. The only thing you hear on the beach is the whisper of palm trees swaying in the wind, and the hiss of Indian
ocean's warm waters licking powdery soft sands. If you like spending your lazy days on your own stretch of white beach, while the golden rays of the sun caress your body, then you should book a beach villa where there is nothing but sand and the blue sea. While most of the beaches in the Maldives are amazing, the quality of sand differs from island to island, since, unfortunately, some resorts use sandbags, sea walls and breakwaters to preserve the condition of their idyllic beaches. The following luxury resorts include the cleanest, white, talcum sand, widely embracing their idyllic islands: Top 10 best beaches in the Maldives.
5 Scuba Diving
Tumblr media
Statistically, almost half of the guests in the Maldives come with the intention to go with snorkeling or diving or, once they see the crystal clear waters and colorful fish and corals, cannot resist trying. Indeed,
the hypnotic beauty of the majestic underwater world surrounding the paradise islands is beyond imagination. Deep channels divide 26 atolls, starting from Haa Alifu atoll in the north more than 800 kilometers to Addu Atoll in the south and concentrating nutrient-rich ocean currents. The latter supports the abundance of marine life, turning the Maldives into one of the world's best places for scuba diving, as well as the best place on the globe for diving or snorkeling with giant whale sharks, harmless reef sharks and impressive manta rays. Most resorts have their own certified diving center PADI and offer easy access to world-class dive sites suitable for divers of all levels of experience; Diving schools also host courses to teach a new comer how to dive themselves in the colorful underwater world.
6 Snorkeling
Tumblr media
If diving for you sounds too difficult, you will be pleased to learn that the Maldives stand head and shoulders above any other destination in the world when it comes to snorkeling. Swimming with a mask and snorkel is open to anyone who knows how to swim and does not
Tumblr media
The mind, body and spirit benefit from a relaxing holiday in the Maldives, especially when it is enhanced by relaxing and rejuvenating treatment sessions at the spa. It is estimated that there are approximately 110 top-class spa in the resorts, as well as several spa in Male and even one in Male Airport + unofficial spas servicing
guests staying on inhabited islands. In Maldives, the spa is much more than the traditional sense of a commercial institution offering health and beauty treatments. Resorts not only meet the luxurious standard of accommodation, but also go beyond its design and layout. In the lagoon there are overwater spas that enjoy panoramic sea views; Spas in the garden surrounded by lush tropical vegetation; Spas on its own islands; Spas on the beach and in temple sanctuaries; Spas is caressed by serenades of bubbling waters and phenomenal underwater spas. Each spa aims to convey an exciting atmosphere of tranquility, where exotic therapy challenges the imagination.
8 Swimming with Whale Sharks & Manta Rays
Tumblr media
Swimming with Whale Sharks & Manta Rays ticks the top list of many visitors in the Maldives. Being one of the biggest fishes in the ocean and one of the most majestic creatures to see underwater, snorkeling or diving with these gentle giants is one of the ultimate experiences. Fortunately, the Maldives is a breathtaking destination for sightings of whale sharks and manta rays all year round. However, good to know where and when to watch them.
9 Dine By Design Experience
Tumblr media
World famed powdery sands, deserted pearl strung islands, and one of the greatest diving destinations on the planet, are charms which naturally catapult the Maldives to the top of most people’s holiday hot list. Dining and romance go hand in hand in the Maldives. Enjoy private dinner for two under a starlit sky while sipping champagne with canapés and floating on a private platform gently bobbing on the ocean, on a palm-studded private island, a secluded spot on the beach with your toes in the sand and with a breathtaking view, or at a candlelit table on the sundeck of your overwater bungalow as you marvel over the incredibly romantic sunset in stylish, surreal surroundings – all paired with impeccable service.
10 Enjoy Food of Maldives
There's so much variety within Maldivian cuisine that it may be impossible to try all Maldivian dishes in your lifetime, let alone at one time. Maldivian cuisine is also one of the most delicious and healthy cuisines in the world that you may have never heard of. Based on rice, fish, coconuts and aromatic spices, local chefs create real masterpieces that explode in your mouth with a rainbow of delicious tastes.
From traditional food on the beach to homely interpretations of Maldivian cuisine, these are our favorite dishes to try in the Maldives.

Ed. Note: If you’re looking for healthy food in Memphis, contributor Stacey has started a list of places to eat healthy, with a focus on salads that aren’t boring, that are filling, and most importantly, delicious. This isn’t everywhere to get a great salad, of course. If you have favorites, please put them in the comments!  I like to think of salads as nachos made with lettuce instead of chips. Doesn’t that sound nice? But really, I could – and should — eat a salad every day, and I almost always end up wracking my brain trying to remember who has a good one. Now I’ve made this lovely list of my tried-and-true go-to salads, so all of us to can refer to it as needed. Chicken Salad Salad at Edge Alley Edge Alley is one of my favorite places to get a salad. They have several good ones to choose from, they have awesome window seating and best of all, I get to have a second coffee of the day. (Carbonated cold brew FTW.) I really like the Shrimp Cobb (below) but lately the Chicken Salad Salad ($8) has been my go to. It’s a tad heartier and has great flavor. All of the salads are made with arugula so they don’t feel massive. Made with local chicken, mango, peanuts, tomato, onion, and radish, the Chicken Salad Salad is a winner. Also very important to note: You can add bacon, avocado and/or a fried egg to anything for $2 each. Read more about Edge Alley here. Gaspacho Salad at Maciel’s Look, I know it’s hard to bypass the taco menu at Maciel’s, but they have what is probably my very most favorite salad ever – the Gaspacho Salad ($7.75!!!). I really don’t understand the name as it has nothing to do with cold tomato soup, so just put that out of your mind. It’s a heaping portion of grilled steak, diced mango, chopped cilantro, tomatoes, onion, sliced avocado and shredded lettuce. It’s served with chipotle dressing and you can spice it up with one of the other house made sauces if you like. Ok, sure, the shredded lettuce is not providing the highest nutritional content a salad has ever offered, but it’s not a fried tortilla, right? And yes, the other salads at Maciel’s are pretty freaking good too. Read more about Maciel’s here. The Memphis Cobb at Carolina Watershed Pulled pork on a salad? Yes, please. According to the menu, the Memphis Cobb ($12.50) includes a nice serving of pulled pork, Carolina Watershed smoked applewood bacon, blue cheese crumbles, roasted cherry tomatoes, sweet onions and avocado. Our version also featured grilled corn, pickled onions, a hardboiled egg and a nice toast…your mileage may vary. Still a very solid choice. Be the Chef at Cheffie’s For those of you who like your salad the way you like it, then Cheffie’s is for you. (They have several signature salads to choose from if you don’t want to do the hard work of deciding too.) For $9.95 you can create your own masterpiece from a choice of greens (romaine, baby spinach, kale, or mixed greens), proteins (chicken, turkey, ham, roast beef, pimento cheese, tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad), and more cheeses, fruit & veggie toppings, crunchies and dressings than I can list here. A basic bowl comes with one of everything, except toppings—you can choose up to four of those. There’s a small charge for double meat and any extras if you do not want to be constrained by any rules. The key at Cheffie’s, no matter what you get, is to let them CHOP IT ALL UP for you. It’s just somehow better that way. Shawerma Salad at Casablanca The Shawerma Salad ($10) is another one of my very most favorite salads, and I am amazed every time when I order it because it means I had the willpower to forgo the delicious falafel, hummus and pita. I do not pass up the tea though. I’m not completely crazy! Now, I do need to state for the record that there are two ways to get the Shawerma Salad. One is to just order it off the menu. The other way is to order a small Greek Salad ($5) and add lamb ($7). What’s the difference? The latter option gets you feta cheese and banana peppers. Both are key in my opinion and only the Greek has them. Lettuce, tomato, onion, black olives and cucumbers are on both. There’s also more meat options if you go with the Greek. It can be complicated, if you want it to be. Ha! Grille 901 (http://bit.ly/2F5fXSH) also has a fairly good approximation of this for $8.98 ($5.99 Greek Salad plus $1.99 for lamb) if you want a grab and go option, or something a little more casual. Get in the Chopper at City Silo Table + Pantry I want to eat EVERYTHING at City Silo. I love it so much. I wish it was in Midtown or Downtown. The Buffalo Tempeh and Sesame Cauliflower Bowl is my boyfriend, but sometimes I cheat on him with a salad. The Get in the Chopper ($11) is the most popular, and yes, it’s all chopped up and easy to eat. It features arugula, quinoa, sweet corn, cherry tomatoes, roasted pepitas, raisins, balsamic, pink salt, parmesan (if you want) and comes with cashew basil aioli. I add tempeh ($1.50), because where else can you add tempeh? You can also add avocado, egg, and/or chicken. Live it up! Memphis Belle at Tamp & Tap Tamp & Tap has overhauled their menu to give it a fresher, healthier feel. There are several new salads and The Memphis Belle ($9) makes a great lunch. The base is fresh spinach and the toppings are top notch –strawberries, feta, pickled onions, candied pecans, HALF an avocado, and in this case, grilled chicken (add $2). The chicken was served warm and gave the whole salad a really nourishing feel. The balsamic vinaigrette was the perfect final note. This seemingly simple salad will surprise you. This is also another great spot to sneak in a second coffee. Read more about Tamp & Tap.  Beef Salad at Bhan Thai The Beef Salad ($11.25) at Bhan Thai hits all of the right notes and lights up your mouth. Tender filets of beef are doused in a spicy mixture of lime, onions, and roasted chili pepper sauce; garnished with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers; and served atop a bed of fresh greens. Simple and delicious and you don’t miss having rice. Read more about Bhan Thai.  Portabella Salad at Central Barbecue For some it may seem blasphemous to go to Central and not get barbecue, but the salads at Central are worth a trip of their own, and they also provide an option for any vegetarians visiting Memphis who want to experience this local favorite restaurant. Central’s salads all build off of the basic House Salad ($5.25) which is romaine lettuce, carrots & red cabbage, served in a sun-dried tomato-basil tortilla bowl, topped with shredded colby-jack, tomatoes & pepperoncini peppers. If you want to add meat, it’s called a BBQ Chef Salad ($9.99). And if you want to add a portabella, and trust me, you do, it’s simply called the Portabella Salad ($7.35). Central grills the 7-8″ portabella mushrooms and marinates them in balsamic vinegar, olive oil & spices and makes them taste SO good. Grilled Salmon Nicoise at Majestic Grill If you are looking for a salad to fill you up, then the Grilled Salmon Nicoise ($11) is the ticket. A really nice serving of perfectly cooked salmon rests on a bed of greens and is surrounded by an amazing supporting cast – a hardboiled egg, artichoke hearts, black olives, green beans and tomatoes. Not surprisingly, this is one of many fine salads on the menu. You could spend a work week trying them all – the Majestic Cobb, The Seared Tuna, The Chophouse Salad, and The Old Post Office Waldorf are all just as worthy of their own starring role.  Shrimp Salad at The Cove For a dive bar that specializes in oysters, the Cove has a pretty nice selection of salads. There’s the Classic Caesar, the Mermaid (a wedge), the Port (featuring a portabella mushroom) and my pick, the Shrimp Salad ($12). It’s basic, but the five large seasoned grilled shrimp are flavorful and not too filling. Placed atop romaine lettuce and decorated with grape tomatoes, goat cheese and purple onion, the whole thing is lightly tossed with house made garlic lemon vinaigrette and topped with croutons. Goes great with a nice can of Wiseacre or one of their signature cocktails. And gives you a great excuse (“You had a healthy dinner”) to order Not Wings or Stoner Pie later in the evening! Field Trip Greens at Lunchbox Eats I’m not going to lie. The Field Trip Greens Salad ($10) with avocado ($4) and fried tenders ($4) may be the most expensive salad I’ve ever eaten ($18). And, I’m hoping I went on a day that they accidentally only put the teeniest amount of chicken tenders on my salad (accident?) But, having said that, this salad has good bones. There are homemade pickles, a tasty corn muffin, grilled corn, roasted peppers, and fun crunchies. I say no avocado is worth $4, but advocate for a nice serving of tenders and absolutely get a giant tumbler of lemonade. Made fresh each day, it’ll put a smile on your face no matter what happens to your salad! Holly here. Stacey and I had a few more we wanted to add in… Make Your Own Salad at Pyro’s Pyro’s is a local chain that is all about fast and affordable. Most people know them for their fast pizzas that you build yourself by choosing proteins, veggies, and other toppings. But, I actually love them for their salads, which are similarly constructed to order. It it my number one go-to when I’m in a hurry and need something filling and healthy. I get a large salad topped with shredded Cajun chicken, marinated zucchini and peppers, sliced almonds, feta, broccoli, and poppy seed dressing on the side. (The photo here is a slightly different version, also Pyro’s bread is now served in little rolls rather than like what’s pictured.) Mama’s Real Greek Salad at Rendezvous  Another salad from a barbecue restaurant?! Yep, I’m going to tell you the truth: the Greek salad from the Rendezvous is underrated. It’s colorful and fresh, with cucumbers, green peppers, tomatoes, olives, red onions, pepperoncinis, and feta, all tossed in some kind of magical Greek-seasoned vinaigrette. I’d eat it by itself, or with a side of brisket. Build Your Own Salad at Wild Beet Salad Co.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Wild Beet Salad Company (@wildbeetsaladco) on Dec 8, 2017 at 9:35am PST Wild Beet (originally known as Lettuce Eat) is a make-your-own salad place where you go down the line and have the attendants build you a delicious meal with the ingredients that you choose. They have a huge selection of options for proteins, including shrimp, quinoa, chicken, turkey, and more, plus just about every vegetable or other topping you can think of. Ket’s 300+ One Word Prompt List
Pick a prompt, the character(s, up to 3-4) you want it to focus on, and if you want, a general time period in MIC (Pre-war, Eragon, Eldest, mid-war, post-war), and send the information to me in an ask. I’ll write some sort of fill for it in the answer and link it here!
You can reuse prompts! Prompts already filled will have the characters they focus on linked beside them. I’ll occasionally add more words or phrases as prompts, so keep a lookout!

Coming to Memphis? Only have a few days or a weekend? Here’s your cheat sheet for things to do in Memphis, places to visit, and where to eat. Five Things You Must Do In Memphis I realize that this is technically more than five things, but bear with me. I’m distilling hundreds of options for things to do in Memphis down to five “categories”, if you will. 1. Get A Dose Of Memphis Music History  If you’re an Elvis fan, or you have an afternoon to spend, a pilgrimage to Graceland is the perfect choice. If you don’t have the time or budget for Graceland, I recommend a visit to the hallowed ground of Sun Studio, the Stax Museum of American Soul Music in Soulsville, or the Smithsonian’s Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum for a unique overview of Memphis The Memphis Music Hall of Fame (just steps away from Beale Street) and the Blues Hall of Fame (on South Main near the National Civil Rights Museum) should be on your list if you’re a music buff; both museums opened in 2015. 2. Eat BBQ Barbecue is the official cuisine of Memphis. Ask anyone “where is the best bbq in Memphis?” and you’ll get a dozen different answers. Here are a few to get you started: -The quintessential, visitor-friendly spot is The Rendezvous downtown. Get ribs, sausage and cheese plate, and brisket. – Locals love Central BBQ‘s four locations. Get ribs, a pulled pork sandwich, or BBQ nachos with house chips. – The Bar-B-Q Shop in midtown. Order ribs, sandwiches on Texas toast, and a side of BBQ spaghetti. – Tops BBQ for quick, beloved fast BBQ pork sandwiches or burgers topped with pulled pork. – Payne’s BBQ try the pulled pork sandwich with slaw or ribs. – Cozy Corner BBQ near downtown. Order ribs and Cornish game hens. Plus many more. Some places might involve a wait (especially at the midtown Central BBQ location) during peak times. View of Mud Island, bridge, and Pyramid from the top of Beale Street Landing 3. Photo Ops and History Stop by Beale Street Landing and Tom Lee Park to take in the views of the mighty Mississippi. Don’t forget to get a photo with the iconic bridge. Mighty Lights is a nightly light show on the Hernando de Soto and Big River Crossing bridges. Catch these moving, colorful displays every hour at the top of the hour from sunset until 10 p.m. The Big River Crossing allows you to walk all the way across the river from downtown Memphis to Arkansas on the Harahan Bridge. It’s about a mile long and a pretty easy walk, and offers up some amazing views. You can rent an Explore Bike Share bike (50+ stations around town) if you want to bike across. The historic Peabody Hotel downtown has a beautiful lobby, a rooftop with a great view, and two daily duck marches that the kids will love. Beale Street is the historic music and entertainment district. Take a daytime stroll past the shops and establishments, then stop in A. Schwab general store for sundaes. At night, it’s a big party – so enjoy all the live music, have a few drinks, and watch the Beale Street Flippers do their thing. I may be biased, but checking out the I Love Memphis murals is fun and a great photo op. The two most popular murals are located near 768 Cooper Street and in the parking lot behind 422 N. Cleveland Street. Check out the full list here. FedExForum right before a Grizzlies game tipoff. 4. Attractions and Tours The Memphis Zoo is consistently rated #1 or #2 in the country and is worth a visit, especially if you have kids with you. The National Civil Rights Museum (located at the Lorraine Motel where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in 1968) is an engaging, comprehensive museum focused on the civil rights movement. NBA team Memphis Grizzlies play their home games at FedExForum, adjacent to Beale Street in downtown Memphis. See the schedule and get tickets here. The Memphis Redbirds are the 2017 and 2018 Triple-A baseball Pacific League Champions and the 2018 Triple-A World Series Champs. They play at the award-winning AutoZone Park; see the schedule and get tickets here. The Crosstown Concourse is a one-million-square-foot vertical urban village in a former Sears distribution center. It houses offices, schools, and apartments, but visitors can enjoy the picture-perfect atriums, a dozen restaurants and bars, the Crosstown Arts gallery (including a cafe and bar), and regular arts, film, and music events. If you have transportation, head out to Shelby Farms Park, one of the largest urban parks in the country. The state-of-the-art renovated park offers countless activities – hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, ropes adventure course, horseback riding, bike rental, the award-winning  Woodland Discovery playground, a buffalo herd, and more. The Dixon Gallery & Gardens and the Memphis Botanic Gardens are in East Memphis, too. You have lots of great options for tours of Memphis: Backbeat Tours offers musical sightseeing bus tours as well as walking “ghost tours”. The Memphis Hop is a hop-on, hop-off shuttle with 10 stops. Historical Haunts guides ghost tours, haunted pub crawls, and a Memphis Brew Bus for local breweries. A Tour Of Possibilities van tour focuses on civil rights and African American history. City Tasting Tours and Tastin’ Around Town offer culinary and cocktail adventures. Call ahead for schedules and to reserve your spot! 5. Wild Card This one depends on your interests. Here are some options for your choose-your-own-adventure Memphis number five must-do. – If you’re curious, go to the Bass Pro Pyramid. It’s the largest single retailer location in the world. Inside you can ride the nation’s tallest freestanding elevator to the top ($10 per person) for an incredible view of the city (and at night, the Mighty Lights). – If you’re looking for the local live music scene, venues like Lafayette’s, the Hi-Tone, Minglewood Hall, and Bar DKDC regularly host local bands. During the spring, summer, and fall, you can catch a free concert at the Levitt Shell. Beale Street has a ton live music as well. All these venues have totally different vibes. – If you’re into craft beer and local spirits, check out Memphis’ five microbreweries: Wiseacre, Memphis Made, High Cotton, Ghost River, Meddlesome, and Crosstown, plus Bosco’s Brewpub. Want a one-stop shop for all the local beer? Hammer & Ale in Cooper Young serves all the local brews, offer flights, and a small food menu. Old Dominick Distillery downtown (across the street from Gus’ Fried Chickens) offers tours and samples of their whiskey, vodka, and gin. – If you have the kids with you, check out the Memphis Zoo, My Big Backyard play area at Memphis Botanic Gardens, Rainbow Lake Playground at Overton Park. The Children’s Museum of Memphis and the Pink Palace Museum are great indoor options (though CMOM has a great splash pad and playground open in warmer weather). A few fun, kid-friendly places to eat include Huey’s (multiple locations, burgers), Aldo’s (pizza, two locations), Soul Fish (fried catfish, etc., two locations), and Belly Acres (burgers, one location) which has a really fun atmosphere. – If you’re into the arts, know that Memphis has a lively visual arts, theatre, film, and performing arts scene. From ballet to theatre to opera and more, there are many chances to see live performances while you’re in town. Check out this guide to performing arts. There’s plenty of public art in Memphis as well, plus museums and galleries like the Brooks, Dixon, David Lusk, Marshall Arts, Crosstown Arts, Metal Museum, and more. Check out ArtsMemphis for more. Places To Eat And Drink In Memphis Make reservations anywhere you can, especially for brunch.
