Listen along to The Slim Shady LP here! () Studiestræde () bliver sendt hver fredag kl. Endnu en oplevelse, hvor Eminem og "My Name Is" havde en afgørende finger med i spillet. Eminem's Shady Records label released Shady XV, a compilation album which featured a track titled, "Fine Line" by Eminem. In a 2015 interview, Pace Won indicated that the original version of the track was probably permanently erased, and as yet, this would appear to be the case, as it has not yet emerged from the vaults. Dre complained that Eminem had too many guests on the album, so Pace Won and Young Zee's verses were removed from the track. A rift developed between Eminem and Tha Outsidaz when Young Zee and Pace Won each recorded verses alongside Bizarre for the 'Amityville' track on Eminem's major label sophomore, The Marshall Mathers LP. He also acknowledges them in a track titled "Till Hell Freezes Over" which was intended to be on the album. REVISIT: EMINEM UNVEILED THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP THIS DAY IN 2000
Tumblr media
Eminem released his third album, The Marshall Mathers LP, which came out today (May 23) in 2000, released via labels, Aftermath/Interscope. Worldwide, it’s sold over thirty-five million copies to date. Singles for this album were “The Real Slim Shady”, “The Way I Am”, “Stan”, “I’m Back” and “B*tch Please II”. “Kill You” opens with “When I just a little baby boy my momma used to tell me these crazy things; she used to tell me my daddy was an evil man, she used to tell me he hated me, but then I got a little bit older and I realised she was the crazy one; but there was nothin’ I could do or say to try to change it, ‘cos that's just the way she was”.  That’s only the start. “Just bend over and take it like a slut; okay, Ma? Oh, now he’s raping his own mother,” for example.  “Texas Chainsaw, left his brains all danglin’ from his neck, while his head barely hangs on; blood, guts, guns, cuts/Knives, lives, wives, nuns, sluts,” more so.  “Buck with me, I been through hell, shut the hell up; I’m tryin’ to develop these pictures of the Devil to sell ‘em” darker yet, to the depths of the hell, licks of guitar and bobbing bass ominous.
youtube
“Stan”, featuring Dido, opens with pouring rain and the latter singing mournfully.  The descending bassline adding to that effect.  The fan, indeed, descends from infatuation to the incensed.  This evidenced in, “Dear Slim, you still ain’t called or wrote, I hope you have a chance/I ain’t mad, I just think it's f*cked up you don’t answer fans”.  Real invective as he swears at his idol. “Remember when we met in Denver, you said if I’d write you you would write back; see, I’m just like you in a way, I never knew my father, neither/He used to always cheat on my mom and beat her”. “See everything you say is real, and I respect you ‘cos you tell it/My girlfriend’s jealous ‘cos I talk about you 24/7,” coming between Stan and his other half. “It’s been six months and still no word, I don’t deserve it/I know you got my last two letters, I wrote the addresses on ‘em perfect” and “You ruined it, now; I hope you can’t sleep and you dream about it/And when you dream I hope you can’t sleep and you scream about it/I hope your conscience eats at you and you can’t breathe without me” progressively impassioned, voice breaking and all. Eminem finally writes back.  “You got some issues, Stan, I think you need some counselling/To help your ass from bouncing off the walls when you get down some” like idol turned counsellor.   “Who Knew” is harsh hit of programmed drum with sparse guitar and bass. The lyrical bent equally harsh, no blunt instruments.  “I’m like, guidance/Ain’t they got the same moms and dads who got mad when I asked if they liked violence”.  Then, “And told me that my tape taught ‘em to swear/What about the makeup you allow your twelve-year-old daughter to wear” proving universal hypocrisy.  “Wasn’t me; Slim Shady said to do it, again/Damn, how much damage can you do with a pen,” perhaps turning inwards, once again.
youtube
The dark thoughts of “The Way I Am” is cyclical of piano, tolling of bell.  “I’m not Mr. Friendly, I can be a pr*ck” demonstrating this.  “I’m lifting you ten feet in the air/I don’t care/Who was there/And who saw me, just jaw you; go call you a lawyer, file you a lawsuit” getting irate.  “When a dude’s getting bullied and shoots up his school,” to the point.  “I’m racin’/I’m pacin’, I stand and I sit/And I’m thankful for every fan that I get/But I can’t take a sh*t/In the bathroom without someone standing by it” ramping this up. “Remember Me?”, featuring RBX and Sticky Fingaz, takes it back. Deep, dark and sinister.  “I’m tryin’ to clean up my f*ckin’ image/So I promised the f*ckin’ critics I wouldn’t say, f*ckin’, for six minutes” has him willing to compromise.  Then, “F*ck that” has him exploding, going back, seemingly, on his word. Then the biting invective in “I’m Back”, with wayward, conspiratorial guitar with regimented bass and drum forming the basis of the no compromise feel.  “You better get rid of that nine it ain’t gonna help/What good is it gonna do against a man that strangles himself” dark and twisted.  “I used to get punked and bullied on my block, ‘til I cut a kitten’s head off and stuck it in this kid’s mailbox” definitely more so.  “I take seven kids from Columbine/Stand ‘em all in line/Add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine/A MAC-11 and it oughta solve the problem of mine/And that’s a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time” censored even in the explicit version. “Marshall Mathers” is contemplative and what seems fretless bass.  “Yo, you might see me joggin’/You might see me walkin’, you might see me walkin’ a dead Rottweiler dog with its head chopped off in the park with a spiked collar, hollerin’ at him ‘cos the sonofabitch won’t quit barkin’” peaking early, quick to rise to anger.  “Drivin’ up the block in the car that they shot ‘Pac in, looking for Big’s killers, dressin’ ridiculous/Blue and red, like I don’t see what the big deal is” leads to, “...watchin’ all these cheap imitations get rich off ‘em”.  “The New Kids On The Block sucked a lot of d*ck/Boy, girl groups make me sick/And I can’t wait ‘til I catch all you f*ggots in public/I’ma love it” both arresting and vile. “I think I was put here to annoy the world/And destroy your little four-year-old boy or girl” devastating, “Talkin’ about I fabricated my past/He’s just aggravated I won’t ejaculate in his ass” more impossibly so.  The bass breaks out latterly, twice in fact. Dark ode to Detroit, “Amityville”, featuring Bizarre, resounds with the sound of drum, sparse as if to fuel paranoia.  “That’s why we’re crowned the murder capital, still/This ain't Detroit, this is mother*ckin’ Hamburger Hill” like revelling in local reputation.  The infamy of it all.  Rock guitar embellishes the closing moments. “Bitch Please II”, featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit and Nate Dogg, has classic written all over just looking at the cameo list and it doesn’t disappoint.  Melding the white and black audiences, like Dre in, “Throw on “Guilty Conscience” at concerts/And watch mosh pits/’til mother*ckers knock eachother unconscious/Some of these crowds that Slim draws is rowdy as Crenshaw Boulevard/When it’s packed and full of cars”. Track, “Criminal”, has funereal organ.  Criminal?  “You goddamn right,” the response.  “How many records you expecting to sell/After your second LP sends you directly to jail” details his past transgressions.  Has he learned? Nope. Then an intermission with him robbing a bank, the song faded to the background and popping the bank clerk in the face.  “Sh*t, half the sh*t I say, I just make it up to make you mad, so kiss my white naked ass/And if it’s not a rapper that I make it as/I’ma be a fuckin’ rapist in a Jason mask” incendiary and waving his rear in full view of white Middle America. The overall highlights are “Kill You”, “Stan”, “Who Knew”, “The Way I Am”, “The Real Slim Shady”, “Remember Me”, “I’m Back”, “Marshall Mathers”, “Drug Ballad”, “Amityville”, “Bitch Please II”, “Under The Influence” and “Criminal”.

Stereolizza - Wikipedia
Stereolizza Background information Origin Kiev, Ukraine Genres Urban pop, dance-pop Years active 1998–present Labels StereoZzilla Music, Magic Records, Ego Music, Kontor Records, Ukrainian Records Website www.stereolizza.com Members Lizza and AlecZero Past members Ingvo, Hardtennis, LJ, Denis Fekolin, Yegor Fekolin
Stereolizza (before 2009 – Stereoliza), is an urban pop band, based in Los Angeles, California. The core of the group is Lizza (birth name – Kateryna Shalayeva) – lead singer and songwriter; and AlecZero (birth name - Oleksiy Ginchev) – songwriter, record producer, multi-instrumentalist.
Overview[edit]
“X.Y.Z.” – the first single from “X-amine Your Zippa” album that made the group popular in Europe in 2005-2006 remained on top of the charts of Ukrainian, Russian, Polish radio stations (Europa Plus, Europa FM, Hit FM, Gala Radio, Radio NRJ, Prosto Radio, ESKA Radio, RMF FM and other).[1][2][3]
Stereolizza’s music videos were broadcast and charted on major TV channels of Ukraine, U.S., Russia and Poland (MTV, M1, OTV, TVP1, TVP2, Polsat, International Music Feed, etc.)
The band’s songs became soundtracks for the following movies and TV shows:
Hello, I’m Your Daddo! (Russian – «Здрасьте, я ваше папо!») – MTV Russia, 2006 (“X.Y.Z.”) [4][5]
Dikari (Russian – «Дикари») – feature film, Russia, 2006 (“X.Y.Z.”) [6]
Moonlight (TV series), Episode 10 “Sleeping Beauty” - CBS, USA, 2007-2008 (“X.Y.Z.”)[7][8]
Side Order of Life, Episode 10 “Awakenings” – Lifetime (TV network), USA, 2007 (“X.Y.Z.”) [9]
Forever Strong – feature film, USA, 2008 (“Corporate Logic”) [10]
History[edit]
Formation and early years (1998-2003)[edit]
Lizza and AlecZero met in a 7-piece jazz cover band[11] in Kiev, Ukraine, where Lizza was one of the lead singers and AlecZero played bass guitar. The band performed at various live venues playing jazz standards and evergreen hits for a couple of years, unless Lizza and AlecZero got together on a side to create their own music.[12] The name Stereolizza derived from playing around with the name of Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece Mona Lisa, that the band transformed into Mono Lisa and to the final band name Stereolizza that integrates feminine appearance with musical vocation.[13]
The band’s Russian language album Escape (Russian – Побег, 1999), fully written by AlecZero, was not simply a compilation of songs, but rather a conceptual Rock opera, where all songs were liaised into one piece of work – a story about a virtual girl with a name Stereolizza,[14] who lived in the World Wide Web and ran away from an imaginary Cosmo-jail into a mega-city, looking for better life and adventures. “Escape – is all about breaking stereotypes, about escaping from principles imposed by society that are suppressing many people.” [15]
Although this being the first attempt to create a virtual artist on the music scene, Stereolizza’s new album was dubiously perceived by local mass media and was not commercially successful.
International start (2003-2008)[edit]
Despite the failure of the debut album, the duo continues to write songs. Influenced by Eminem’s The Slim Shady LP and The Marshall Mathers LP, Lizza is trying herself in Hip hop, now contributing to the songwriting process with AlecZero, but this time their songs are in English. Enticed by the international potential of the band’s new material, Ukrainian Records, a licensee of Universal Music Group in Ukraine, signs them to a multi-album deal in 2003.[16]
The group gets into the studio to turn their demos into records with AlecZero supervising the music production.[17] Although, the recording process took much longer than the band expected due to the Orange Revolution that started happening in Ukraine in 2004.
Stereolizza and The Black Eyed Peas
Finally, in 2005 Ukrainian Records launches Stereolizza’s X.Y.Z. – the first single of the X-amine Your Zippa album. X.Y.Z., the abbreviation of the examine your zipper, is a derogatory message, addressed to Lizza’s imaginary partner in a promiscuous relationship.[18] The music video for the single was shot in New York City by Radioactive Films and directed by Victor Priduvalov. The song later became Stereolizza’s breakthrough hit on the European market.[2][3][19]
The follow-up single Corporate Logic derides corporate ethic rules that everybody knows of, but nobody abides by in a regular day-to-day office life. The music video, directed by Jason Argyropoulos and produced by Tree Filmworks in Los Angeles, was influenced by the era of Art Deco and the story of Bonnie and Clyde.[20]
In 2006, during The Black Eyed Peas’ Monkey Business Tour Stereolizza were selected to be the only opening act for the American band in Palace of Sports, Kiev, Ukraine. Stereolizza themselves started touring with the support of the national mobile operators Kyivstar GSM and djuice, lined up with the artists like Apollo 440, Sean Paul, The Chemical Brothers and Planet Funk.[21]
X-amine Your Zippa album, released in Ukraine (2006), Poland (2006), Russia (2007), EU (2006) and UAE (2007), established Stereolizza as one of a kind white female hip-hop performer at that time. Some mass media claimed Lizza was “Eminem dressed in a skirt”.[12]
Album track list:
Title Length 1. "Goodbye, Pimp!" 3:42 2. "X.Y.Z." 3:35 3. "Since We Live Together" 3:12 4. "Favorite Mistress" 4:05 5. "Corporate Logic" 3:39 6. "N.Y. Hairy Tale" 3:20 7. "Rapture" (Blondie's cover) 3:21 8. "Cop My Getup" 3:30 9. "Rough" 3:07 10. "When You Are Here" 3:34 11. "Love Fight Game Loser" 3:36 12. "Trust To Yourself" 3:47
The European version of the album released by Universal Music Group International (London, UK) also included a cover song to Blondie (band)’s Rapture.[22]
In 2007 Stereolizza was being sponsored by the manufacturer of kid’s clothes and uniforms Yunist, taking part in photo shoots, runways and charity events for kids.[23][24] At that same period of time Lizza accepts an offer from Playboy [25] to pose for their November 2007 front cover, thus demonstrating her contradictory behavior that made her even more liked by the band’s fans and hated by the others.
In the end of 2007 M1 Music Channel invites Lizza to be a celebrity co-host of Guten Morgen – a national daily morning show.[26] Writing songs for the next album with AlecZero and playing occasional shows, Lizza was combining her music and hosting career all the way through the middle of 2008.
Move to the U.S.A. (2008-present)[edit]
Stereolizza performing live during DJUICE Festival
When Stereolizza felt they had enough material for the new album, it turned out Ukrainian Records were not able to cover the recording costs and to further invest in the artist’s career, and Stereolizza were dropped from the label thereafter. By coincidence, at this very moment the band received an offer from several U.S. promoters to play shows in the United States. The band packed their instruments and left Ukraine to perform in a couple of American cities, not yet knowing that Los Angeles would then become their final destination.[27]
Having settled in Los Angeles the group continued to play shows at local live venues, colleges and universities.
Later on AlecZero and Lizza become U.S. residents, upgrade their home studio and form their own label, StereoZzilla Music.[28] At this time AlecZero further develops his hands-on music production skills, which made it possible for the band to complete their songs independently and release them on their own label.
In 2012 Stereolizza released a pop-dance single Carousel. It was produced by AlecZero, mixed by Ariel Chobaz, mastered by Brian Gardner (Big Bass) at the Bernie Grundman Mastering. The cover art for Carousel was created by a world-renowned graphic designer from Brazil Adhemas Batista.[29] The track received an award from Malopolskie TV as Best Summer Hit of 2012.[30][31]
Four months later a Swedish house label Clubstream pink released Stereolizza’s Carousel Club EP with remixes from Inossi, DJ S1 and U4Ya.[32]
Go Back To Your Mama – another recent track from the band. Stereolizza continues to work in the style of urban pop, keeping their “hook” from the times of X.Y.Z. – aggressive verses and melodic choruses, but this time adding some elements of house music. The music video was shot in Los Angeles and Lancaster, California and premiered on M1 Music Channel.[33]
Go Back To Your Mama EP was released worldwide by Ego Music on March 15, 2013 and included remixes by Rico Bernasconi & Jordy and Stereo Palma.[34]

Eminem has attained a position of eminence in the American cultural scene. He has broken the preconceived notions and tread new grounds. Love him or hate him, facts about Eminem says a lot about the person committed to accomplishing his dream, defying odds in the process. The American rapper and songwriter is known as the King of Hip-Hop, he has several achievements to his credit, these can be obtained by browsing the net but here we offer you interesting insights about the man who has become an icon.
#1 Eminem was so severely bullied in public school that his mother sued the local school board for “failing to sufficiently protect her child” 9-year-old Marshall Mathers aka Eminem did not have a smooth time during his elementary schooling (He studied at Dort Elementary School), he was constantly plagued by bullies who split his lips and knocked the wind out of him. On a snowy day in 1982, one of the bullies, DeAngelo Bailey hit him in the face with a snowball laden with a heavy object while playing “King of the Hill.” The bully followed it with a sound beating resulting in temporary loss of vision and concussion. Enraged mother of Marshall Mathers sued the Detroit school board for not sufficiently protecting her child.(source)
#2 Before he became a rapper, Eminem’s true dream was to become a comic book artist.  Rapping was not on the horizon for the young boy growing up in Detroit, deeply interested in story-telling, Eminem intended to have a career as a comic book artist. Lingering influence of “comic artist”can be seen in various animated threads throughout his career, including his Slim Shady Show series and the “Mosh”video.(source 1,2)
#3 When Eminem was 20, he was arrested for a drive-by shooting with a paintball gun. The case was dropped when the victim did not show up in court. Eminem did not always keep a good company and had numerous close brushes with the law. He was apprehended by the police when he and his friends shot at a police car with their paintball gun. But the rapper was not the one who shot at the car, his friend did. The case was dismissed when the alleged victim did not show up for the hearing.(source)
#4 Eminem used the word “Nigga” only once in his song Criminal, but he decided to censor it.  Over the course of a long, successful career, Eminem has dissed several celebrities such as Moby, limp Bizkit, Micheal Jackson, Christina Aguilera. Sometime’s he dissed them to get even and at other times he took them on because their name’s rhymed with his lyrics, however, he has remained unapologetic about throwing shades on them. But there is an exception to every rule, Eminem voluntarily bleeped the word “Nigga” from his record because he did not want that word in his song.(source)
#5 Eminem was offered the lead role in the 2013 sci-fi movie, Elysium. He was interested but he turned it down due to one major condition not being met: Elysium would have to be shot in his hometown, Detroit. Matt Damon was not the first choice for Elysium, Neill Blomkamp, the director of the movie approached Eminem for the role of Max Da Costa. Eminem was interested, but he wanted the movie to be shot in his hometown, the two studios (Media Rights Capital & Tristar Pictures) refused and the role went to Matt. (source)
#6 In the early days of iTunes, Universal Music Group used to deduct artists’ iTunes royalties, claiming costs for “packaging” and “breakage” on digital downloads, until Eminem sued them. Numerous singers who had not foreseen the boom in digital music sales were cheated of their digital royalties by music companies until Eminem through FBT Productions sued the music giant Universal music for the unpaid digital royalties. The lawsuit happened when FBT Production realized that Universal Music was claiming digital downloads as the “distribution arrangement”, which have lower royalty rates, whereas digital downloads should rightfully come under the “license” arrangement as the music company was not doing any packaging that would cause breakage in the downloads.(source)
#7 Eminem’s song ‘Rap God’ is in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most words in a song (1,560 words in 6:04 minutes at an average of 4.28 words per second). Rap God released in October 2013 holds the record for having most words in a song. A particular verse of the song was sung in supersonic speed featuring a whopping 97 words in 15 seconds- an average of 6.5 words per second! (source)
#8 Eminem was once near the Top 30 in the highest scoring Donkey Kong games in the world. No one knew Eminem was an ardent video game fiend. On December 3rd, 2009, Eminem surprised the gamer community when he proudly tweeted his highest Donkey Kong (a Nintendo game) score. The scores were that of an above average player. Four months later on March 30th, 2010, he shocked everyone with a new score of 465,800 – close to the top 30 on twin galaxies Leaderboard.(source)
#9 The band D12 planned to find the 12 best rappers of Detroit but found only 6, so they created alter-egos in order to have 12. That’s when Eminem came up with Slim Shady. D12 is a hip-hop group formed by Eminem and his friends in the late 90s.’ They wanted to be named as “Dirty Dozen” but as the name was already taken by a Jazz group, they settled for D12. D12 was initially supposed to be a band of 12 rappers, but they could only find six rapper’s, so they decided to split their personalities and create six alter ego’s taking the full contingent to 12. Slim Shady was one of the characters created as a alter ego to Eminem.(source)
#10 The hip-hop mastermind, Eminem, is three people in one; Slim Shady, Eminem, and Marshall Mathers are three different persona’s reflecting various facets of the same individual. The hip-hop king is three people in one. There is Eminem, a best-selling artist of the last decade and a cultural icon who has 9 number one albums. Marshall Mathers, a shy, introverted individual hidden inside Eminem. He makes an occasional foray to spill out some emotional demons. And then there is Slim Shady the guy with an attitude, outrageous, and always on the offensive spouting the harsh truths or controversial opinion’s and putting people’s backs up.(source: 1,2)
#11 Eminem made an unsigned album before “The Slim Shady LP”, titled “Infinite”. It only sold about 1,000 copies. In 1996, Eminem released his first studio album, Infinite. The album sold only about 1000 copies and in no way created a flutter for Eminem. Later in 1999, Eminem came up with his commercial debut, Slim Shady LP that reached number two spot on the Billboard 200. The album went on to get four platinum certificate in the USA from the RIAA. This was the album that catapulted Eminem from a non-entity to a celebrated rapper.(source)
#12 When “Lose Yourself” won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, not only was Eminem not there to accept the award, he was asleep during the ceremony because he believed he would not win. Eminem won the academy award for the Best Original Song for “Lose Yourself”. He was the first rapper to win an Oscar for a rap song. However, Eminem was convinced that he would not be winning the coveted statue and did not attend the event. He was dozing at his home in Oakland Township, Michigan with the TV tuned to cartoons for his daughter, Hailie.(source)
#13 Eminem refused to sing at the Oscars since they wanted him to sing the clean version of the chartbuster, “Lose Yourself.” Eminem refused to sing at the Oscars as the head honchos wanted him to sing the radio friendly version of the hit number. But Eminem wanted to sing the song as it is and allow the editor to edit the language. Lose Yourself was the first winning song not performed on the Oscars stage since the advent of televised coverage.(source)
#14 Eminem once took so much Methadone, doctors informed him that he had taken the equivalent of four bags of heroin, and was “about two hours from dying.” The mental and emotional stress can wreck havoc on a person’s psyche and Eminem was no exception, he became addicted to prescription drugs sometimes consuming Valium, Vicodin, and Xanax. The increased consumption of the prescription drugs led to stomach aches and he began to compensate for the pain by eating. In 2007, he collapsed from an overdose of methadone. He was rushed to the hospital where the doctors told him that his organs were beginning to shut down due to methadone. The doctors did not expect him to survive but Eminem somehow managed to beat the odds. After a brief relapse, Eminem has managed to get clean on 2008 and has remained clean ever since.(source 1,2)
#15 Eminem was sued by his own mother for $10 million because he made offensive remarks about her in his songs, but she was only awarded $1,600. In 1991, an irate Debbie, mother of Eminem sued him for about 10 million USD for defaming her on the Slim Shady LP (he rapped that his mother smoked more dope than him). She received a paltry 1,600 USD from the lawsuit.(source)
#16 A person who picked on Eminem in school sued him for his 1999 song ‘Brain Damage’. The judge dismissed the case and delivered the verdict as a rap. In the song “Brain Damage” Eminem raps about a bully DeAngelo Bailey who bullied him when he was studying in the elementary school. Incensed, Bailey promptly filed a $1 million lawsuit claiming that the singer intruded on his privacy and slandered him. The judge Deborah Servitto was not amused by the frivolous claim, she dismissed the case by writing a song on it.(source)
