WATERFALLS
The moment people land in Goa, they are exited about the parties and beaches. It’s justifiable since these are the primary highlights of Goa, but the state has a lot more. We are talking about something that is known to only a select few, those who know the state beyond its usual tourist attraction "The waterfalls". Hidden away in the lush Western Ghats, there are several of these cascades of cool water in the state that would refresh any worn out soul. So go ahead reading list of the must-visit waterfalls in Goa:
Hivre Waterfalls
Tumblr media
Hivre is a village positioned seventy-five km from Panaji in Sattari Taluka. From Hivre you can see the Sahyadris mountains whose peak just blend into the sky, while its feet appear to float on a sea of green fields. And somewhere in between this, a patch of white catches the eye – the distant Hivrem waterfall.
Yes one can go right up into but only after a brisk walk of about 45 minutes, including some tough climbing. After panting and puffing, the Hivrem waterfall finally stands right before your eyes ! Its cooling nature make one gasp with pleasure as the pains of the workout just get washed away in the crystal waters .Hivrem is a picturesque part of Goa that is little known and less explored. Hivrem is a village that plays hard to get – it is situated 15 kms from Valpoi.
The trek is about 7- 8 km through dense tropical vegetation. You may come across the Indian giant squirrel or catch a glimpse of deer or the wild Indian Gaur. Birdwatchers can feast their eyes on a variety of rare species also present here.
Tambdi Surla
Tumblr media
This waterfall is 90 minutes away from the temple. If you are visiting the temple, a trek to the waterfalls should be a must in your to-do list. The falls is located amidst thick forest, so it is recommended to take a local guide along. The trek might take a little more than 90 minutes depending on the steep ascent.
Once you reach the waterfalls, you will find your painful trek a worthy adventure. The breathtaking nature, cascading falls and the drizzle on your face, it is the best thing you will ever experience.
The trail from the temple to the Tambdi Surla waterfalls is quite simple and easy to follow. While on your route, you will also find a few streams flowing down the hills. The fresh air and pristine water will definitely make you fall in love with the place. Initially, the path of trekking is quite wide but gradually the path narrows.
Though you won’t come across animals like leopards on your way yes, be prepared as it is home to a large number of reptiles, small and big. You may find a few snakes or some other small animals. The best thing about the trek is spotting colorful birds which can’t be seen in the crowded cities.

Best Tattoo Parlor in Goa India, Famous Tattoo Artist in Goa Panjim, Calangute, South Goa and North Goa - Guptatattoogoa.com
Best Tattoo Parlor in Goa India, Famous Tattoo Artist in Goa Panjim, Panaji, Calangute, South Goa and North Goa - Guptatattoogoa.com
Best Tattoo Parlor in Goa India – Things To Know About Tattoos – Guptatattoogoa.com GuptaTattooStudio Tattoos are created by injecting ink: Tattoos are created by injecting ink through into the skin. Tattoo artists accomplish this by using an electric powered tattoo gun that almost sounds like the drill a dentist uses. The tattoo gun has a needle that moves up and down, putting the ink into the skin around 2,000 times a minute. The needle in the gun punctures the skin and deposits a small drop of ink with each puncture.
Best Tattoo Parlor in Goa India – Things To Know About Tattoos
The tattoo machines of today have several basic components. The sterilized needle, tube system, electric motor, and foot pedal are all fine examples. The foot pedal is extremely important to the tattoo gun, as it controls the vertical movement that the needle will make. It resembles a pedal used with a sewing machine, except for the fact that it determines how the needle will work.
One of the biggest concerns regarding tattoos has always been safety. Tattoo machines work by puncturing the skin and injecting ink into the tattoo site. Whenever you are dealing with puncture wounds, there is always a risk of infection and disease. Because of these risks, tattoo applications are always focused on safety. Tattoo artists always use sterile equipment, disposable materials, and proper sanitation to ensure protection for themselves and their customers.
Best Tattoo Parlor in Goa India – Things To Know About Tattoos
To help prevent the risk of contamination, almost all tattoo materials such as ink, ink cups, needles, and gloves are for single use only. Needles should never be used a second time, as they can almost always lead to infection. Most of the single use products will arrive at the tattoo studio in sterile packaging where the artist can open it up in front of you before he starts his work.
Before they start the tattoo, tattoo artists will always wash their hands with soap and water and check themselves for abrasions and cuts. After doing so, they will clean and disinfect their work area with the appropriate disinfectants. As they do this, they will normally explain to you what they are doing and how the sterilization process works. Once they have cleaned the area, they will then start to open their equipment from the sterile boxes. After the artist has opened everything, he will shave the area for the tattoo and disinfect it with water and soap.
Best Tattoo Parlor in Goa India – Things To Know About Tattoos
Once he starts the tattoo, the pain will all depend on your tolerance. Some people say that it feels like being pinched, while others describe it as a slight poking with needles. Your overall pain tolerance, the location and size of the tattoo and the experience of the tattoo artist will all be contributing factors to how much pain you will feel. The location is extremely important. If you are getting a tattoo in a sensitive area – it will probably hurt a bit more.
Best Tattoo Parlor in Goa India – Things To Know About Tattoos
The tattoo artist will clean the tattoo throughout the process, and again once he has finished. Once he has finished, he will put some ointment on the tattoo and cover it. He will also explain how you should take care of it and what you can and can’t do. Most tattoo artists will give you a sheet to take home that contains detailed instructions on caring for your new tattoo. If you have any questions, you shouldn’t hesitate to ask when he is going over your care instructions.
When you get home, you should always follow those instructions. Taking care of your new tattoo is very important and may very well determine your risk of infection. Tattoos can be a great thing to have, providing you take care of them. Keep in mind that the tattoo may be sore for a while – although it will heal in a few short days.

Top Offbeat Places in Goa
There was a time when Goa had peak season and low season. There was a time when his pockets were quiet. With the influx of tourists to the coastal state, this is no longer the case. Even the formerly quiet by-lane of North Goa now sees its fair share of tourists. But that doesn’t mean you can’t escape the crowds and enjoy some really unique experiences on your holiday in Goa. Here are our 8 favorite offbeat things to do in Goa:
Dudhsagar Falls, South Goa
Tumblr media
Located in the Molem National Park and Lord Mahavir Sanctuary, Dudhsagar or Tambadi Surla, popular among the locals, in the Western Ghats, although almost dry in the summer months, the region has a view during the monsoon.
This four-tiered waterfall is one of the highest waterfalls in India, with a height of 310 meters and a width of about 30 meters, located on the Mandovi River in the state. You can see it while traveling by train on the Guntkal-Vasco da Gama route, about 45 km from Madgaon. It is also accessible by road, 60 km from Panaji.
Tambadi Surla Temple, Valpoi, South Goa
Tumblr media
Mahadev Temple or Tambadi Surla, a locality known locally, is a 12th century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva under the auspices of ASI under the Monuments of National Importance program in the state of Goa. It is also the only temple of the Kadamba era to have survived the violence of religious intolerance during the Mughal occupation of the Portuguese and Goa territories during that period.
Situated at the foot of Anmod Ghat, this ancient temple, according to local legend, is also the home of the giant King Cobra, who is said to have settled in the interior of the temple.
Cola Beach, Canacona, South Goa
Tumblr media
A common off-beat location, Kola or 'Khola' beach, as it is known locally, is divided into two separate zones, North Kola and South Kola, by two small hills separating them. Located in the Canaca area, the two halves are joined by a river that forms the Emerald Lagoon, whose calm waters are ideal for swimming.
Despite its golden sand, scattered over volcanic rocks and rocks, the beach is not visited by many visitors, due to the low number of visitors, inevitably due to the presence of a ridge of hills that need to be crossed to reach this ancient paradise, which, incidentally, makes an ideal place.
Chorla Ghat
Tumblr media
Nestled in the foothills of the Western Ghats, Chorla Ghat is a spectacularly misty tropical forest that attracts its visitors. Explore lush forests and wildlife such as the eucalyptus Tahar, the Indian leopard, which is only endemic to the majestic Western Ghats.
Cabo de Rama Fort and Beach
Tumblr media
An ancient and legendary fort, where it is said that Lord Rama spent time with Sita after his exile from Ayodhya, Kobo de Rama has a rich and violent past. Apart from the Portuguese, the temple has changed over time between Hindus and Mughal kings and has witnessed a number of battles.
Having commandant quarters and military barracks during the Portuguese rule, the fort is now in ruins and one of the major attractions in Goa for tourists from India and abroad. Once at the top of this fort, you come across some enchanting views of Goa’s beaches and its surroundings.
Bamanbudo Waterfalls, Canacona, South Goa
Tumblr media
Located on the main road, comfortably accessible by road from Kanakona or Margo, this wonderful Bamanbudo Falls eliminates the tedious trekking required to reach other waterfalls in the state. It is also one of the oldest waterfalls in old Goa, against the backdrop of picturesque Amba Ghat.
The sound of the water flowing through the dense and rich green vegetation and the freshness of the air, the rich and clean atmosphere, make it one of the places worth visiting while traveling in the state on any one of our Goa travel packages.
So, now that you know about the top hidden wonders of Goa pack your bags and get ready to make the most of this offbeat trip to Goa.
