the first two are just CLASSICSSSS you have to dance to themmm and i have in the past and its literally the greatest feeling in the world. literally nothing compares. the last one is more targeted towards my partner:))) she's from tennesse LMAOO and loves country music buuuuttt besides that i also just like. my dad and his wife listen to country music a lot and it's soooo?? it's so lovely idk this style of country music is just pure vibes. but yeah the lyrics r also super lovely and just remind me of my partner so badly grjgkjrgkjrg i need to listen to alllll the country and soul (heh pun unintended) music with them. this song in particular is so comforting i just feel like it'd be nice to dance in the kitchen to <3

goddddd this songgg this song is nostalgia in a nutshell. used to love the movie but also my mom and i used to dogsit for this one person and they had 3 cds. jack johnson, barenaked ladies, and adele. i used to play those and just run around the house acting out the songs. so all of those are very nostalgic but upside down takes the cake bc it just. sounds nostalgic. idk its such happy vibes and its so innocent and wholesome and i justtttt sobsss its so lovely

my half-siblings' dad had a record player before it was cool and the two records he used to play all the time were bob marley and michael jackson. bob marley reminds me more of my childhood though. its just !! its bob marley man. certified classic and good vibes. i love this song so much <3 i love all of his music a lot but this one just ??? makes me feel super intense emotions

Sure! I can recommend a few that you might like! Seems like you enjoy youthful romance, friendships and maybe a little fantasy? I have no idea what else you’ve watched but try these:

Age of Youth / Hello My Twenties: A group of ladies share an apartment. Friendship, strong lady characters, a bit of romance. This is an easy binge.

Fight For My Way: I’ll literally always recommend this one as it’s one of my favorites AND it’s friendship, slice-of-life, and has an amazing romance. Show me someone who didn’t like this drama. No really, is there anyone out there??

Thirty But Seventeen: I’m kinda going out on a limb with this one simply because it’s not really like the three you mentioned - it has a bit more melo elements. I just have a feeling you might like the soft romance, supportive friendships, found family and some of the silly kdrama nonsense.

The Best Hit/ Hit The Top: A romantic comedy featuring an old kpop legend who travels forward in time by accident and finds himself living with his son who is his same age! It’s fun and pretty light, plus the whole kpop angle makes it really interesting.

Ho Goo’s Love / Fool’s Love (you have to watch this on an illegal streaming service though): This is an underrated drama! An adorable naive puppy-like boy falls in love with a strong female athlete who has an unwanted pregnancy. This drama deals with sexual harassment, LGBT stuff (!!!), and rape. BUT it also handles the story in a really light-hearted and sweet way that’ll get you hooked. The scenes with Ho Goo and the baby are everything. Must Watch.

Because This Is My First Life: This is one of my favorite dramas, partly because of it’s well-developed female characters. The girls aren’t roomies but the show follows the lives and loves of all three. Also, shout out to my Feminist Queen Soo Ji. If you’re mad at Lee Min Ki like I am (now - I had no idea when I watched this), you should skip it.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo: Coming of age rom com with great friendships and a lot of heartwarming bits. It’s a fan favorite and if you like strong woman, I’m pretty sure you’ll love this one.

And if you want something really refined (I’m seriously joking this show is hilariously trope-y), watch Shopping King Louis. You won’t regret it, it’s so much fun!

The Zolas - AAAAHHHH I LOVE THEM - Also repping Canadian content... but I love them SOOO much... they are my current favourite band, which is saying a lot considering they took the crown from the Foo Fighters. Just LISTEN to Escape Artist and tell me it doesn’t speak to your SOUL!!!

7. tv show or movie? TV Show - I love getting attached to the characters and following them through long term development.

8. favourite holiday? Christmas - there’s just something about the season... and this little bright light of happiness in the darkest of seasons.

Honestly the song that makes me think MOST of my mental state and where I’m at right now.. is a song from my teen years: The Middle by Jimmy Eat World - whenever I hear that song I think he’s speaking directly to me EVERY TIME... and it wasn’t as meaningful when I was a teen, but it gets me now... every time.

2. What is your favorite book? Or/and a really good book you’ve read recently? The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stievfater has quickly climbed to the top of my extensive list of favourite books. I love the characters soo much, and her writing is just so lyrical and poetic and amazing. Specifically The Dream Thieves is my favourite book in the series... because it’s Ronan’s book... and I feel like that reckless, careless boy has a place in all of us.

3. What is your favorite Ship that will never happen (Or hasn’t happened yet)? DUDE!!! McDanno should have happened. 100% McDanno should be canon... the queerbaiting is OUT OF THIS WORLD insane... and I just.. can’t... Probably number 2 is Sterek... and the reason that one hurts so much is just because the actors fully endorsed it in that stupid TV Guide video... “Sterek all the way.”... and I just... that hurts.

4. If you could spend the day with any living celebrity, who would it be? Dave Grohl. I love him. And I think it would be a fucking BLAST to hang out with him.

5. The best worst movie you’ve ever seen. A movie that you know objectively is trash but you can’t help but really enjoy it. Centre Stage... I will watch that movie on repeat until the day I die. The acting in it is atrocious... the writing even worse... and yet... yet...

1. If/when you read, do you prefer an eReader or an actual physical book? Physical book - I find with an ereader that there are too few words per page... and constantly flipping pages at the speed I read it.. distracting to me. That might sound like a weird reason... but it pulls me out of the story and I can’t stand for that.

2. Favorite movie? A River Runs Through It. I love it so much. We just rewatched it the other day and when... *gets choked up* Robert Redford delivered the last line at the end... I just... *gets more choked up* I cried my face off... tears streaming down my face... It is. SOOOO GOOOD.

3. What does a normal day look for you? Get up, walk dogs, go to work, daydream while doing my mundane job (that I actually really enjoy because I’m good at it and it makes me proud), come home and write, sleep and then wake up to do it all over again.

The best films and directors of the decade, according to the Letterboxd community. As the 2010s stumble to a close, we release a collection of lists celebrating the best films and directors of the decade, and reveal your most underrated and overlooked gems.

When Parasite overtook The Godfather this past November to become the highest-rated film of all time on Letterboxd, it was also confirmation of what we’ve been noticing since we launched the service in 2011: that the 2010s have ushered in a new golden era of filmmaking. Alongside the rise in blockbuster franchises, the film world has seen new innovations in genre films, financing models and talent pathways, helping a new generation of indie filmmakers to get traction in the competitive and unpredictable feature film scene.

And while the industry continues to reckon with upheavals in the studio system and theatrical landscape, the upside is that cinephiles have more and more platforms through which we can find and share new discoveries, back-catalog classics and obscure treasures. Indeed, our own recently launched partnership with JustWatch is helping many of you more easily track down and watch old favorites and recent releases. (JustWatch keeps track of streaming data for 38 countries and rising, and in the US alone, it monitors well over 100 services.)

In the spirit of discovery, and ahead of our 2019 Year in Review (coming in early January) we’ve run the numbers on the past decade of movies. The Top 20 Uncut Gems of the 2010s

Each fortnight, we run a Showdown where you get to pick your favorite films for a given theme. For the final Showdown of 2019—and the decade—we asked you to list your favorite ‘uncut gems’ of the 2010s—the overlooked, under-seen, not-loved-enough movies that you think more people need to know about.

It’s been the most popular Showdown ever, with pages and pages and pages of lists worth exploring in their entirety. We added up the most-mentioned films, removed those that had been watched by more than 15,000 members (per the specific rules of this challenge) and arrived at a final top 20, with Alex Ross Perry’s messy rock drama Her Smell taking the top spot (read our write-up about the Elisabeth Moss-starring film here). It’s quite an international list, with six women directors (Josephine Decker, Agnieszka Smoczyńska, Kelly Reichhardt, Hélène Cattet, Cristina Gallego and Mélanie Laurent), two Ciro Guerra films from Colombia, and a film from the Safdie brothers, the directors behind Uncut Gems, which has an impressive 4.3 average on Letterboxd right now.

The Top 250 Narrative Feature Films of the 2010s

Parasite, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Portrait of a Lady on Fire topped the highest-rated 250 narrative feature films of the 2010s. The busiest directors on this list were Denis Villeneuve and Taika Waititi, with five films each. Hirokazu Kore-eda, Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson, Quentin Tarantino and Lee Chang-dong all feature with three films each.

The Top 100 Directors of the 2010s

We set out to find the narrative feature film directors whose work in the 2010s, as ranked by the Letterboxd community, combined with their overall placing on our Top 250 of the 2010s list, signified their excellence in the directing field. After some data-heavy research, backed by a solid methodology, one name emerged at the top: Denis Villeneuve. Taika Waititi and Lee Chang-dong round out the top three.

Interestingly, only two Best Director Oscar winners from the 2010s made the list: Damien Chazelle and Alejandro González Iñárritu. The most prolific directors on the list are Hong Sang-soo (14 films) and Sion Sono (11 films).

The 100 Most Popular Films of the 2010s

This list is determined by the films that have the most activity across our community, including watches, reviews, comments, list additions and more. Get Out topped this list, with Avengers: Infinity War and La La Land close behind.

This is a heavily US-based list, with very few films made outside the US and only two made primarily in non-English languages: Parasite and Roma. Christopher Nolan is tied for first place with the Russo brothers in terms of having the highest number of films on the list, at four each.

The Top 50 Most Obsessively Rewatched Films of the 2010s

By “obsessive” we mean total watches from all members who logged a film five or more times. The top three are: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Infinity War and La La Land. The Marvel Cinematic Universe accounts for a full 20 percent of the list (including the Guardians of the Galaxy films and Spider-Man: Homecoming, but not including Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse). The Star Wars franchise has six films on the list.

The Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, are the MVPs of this list, with four MCU directing credits. Jon Favreau is represented all over the list as a director (Elf), a writer and a producer. And, of course, the late Stan Lee is credited across the MCU. We made an accompanying list for those who have Paddington obsessions.

The Top 100 Documentary & Non-Fiction Films of the 2010s

O.J.: Made in America is the top non-fiction title of the 2010s, while For Sama is the top feature-length documentary. The MVP of documentary directors is American great Frederick Wiseman, who has three films in the list. Joshua Oppenheimer, Agnès Varda, Steve James, Adam Curtis, Asif Kapadia, Petra Costa and the filmmaking duo Dan Lindsay and T.J. Martin all have two films apiece. 24 women directors feature in the list, across 26 films.

The Top 100 International Films of the 2010s

An incredibly strong list, this was topped—of course—by Parasite, with Portrait of a Lady on Fire and The Handmaiden completing the top three. There were some notable exclusions on this list, due to not having a US release date until 2020. They are: Bacurau, System Crasher, And Then We Danced, Vitalina Varela and Two Blue Stripes. Maybe we’ll see them in our 2020 round-up.

The Top 100 Animated Feature Films of the 2010s

This is a Japan-heavy list, with more than 35 films in the top 100. The US follows with 26 films, including the first-placed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Don Hertzfeldt’s It’s Such a Beautiful Day is at number two and Lee Unkrich’s Coco takes third place.

The Top 100 Women-Directed Feature Films of the 2010s

A truly international cross-section of feature films is represented in this list, which is topped by Céline Sciamma’s Portrait of a Lady on Fire, one of three by the director to appear in the list. Greta Gerwig has an impressive two films in the top ten. Other directors to appear twice are: Kathryn Bigelow, Dee Rees, Lynne Ramsey, Marielle Heller, Andrea Arnold, Maren Ade, Juliana Rojas, Zoya Akhtar, Meghna Gulzar, Nadine Labaki, Kelly Reichhardt and Naoko Ogigami. More recent films feature heavily, with 22 from 2017 versus just one from 2013.

The Top 50 Directorial Debuts of the 2010s

We looked for the highest-rated feature film debuts by directors who had not helmed a film solo prior. We included directing partnerships where part of the collaborative team had not made a feature before; that’s why Peter Ramsey is in the mix alongside feature newcomers Rodney Rothman and Bob Persichetti, taking the top spot for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Rounding out the top three are Don Hertzfeldt and Jordan Peele.

A full quarter of this list is comprised of women directors: Lulu Wang, Deniz Gamze Ergüven, Olivia Wilde, Dee Rees, Nora Twomey, Alma Har'el, Rebecca Sugar, Yoon Ga-Eun, Jennifer Fox, Shouko Nakamura, Dorota Kobiela and Naoko Yamada.

The Top 50 Comedy Specials of the 2010s

John Mulaney topped this list, with four specials included, and a fifth likely to make the list by year’s end. Fun fact: twelve of these were from 2017, which is double the next most represented year (six are from 2018). Un-fun fact: only five comedy women here.

The Top 50 Limited or Miniseries of the 2010s

David Lynch’s Twin Peaks took the top spot, closely followed by Craig Mazin’s Chernobyl, and When They See Us, Ava DuVernay’s dramatic series about the Central Park 5.

The Top 50 Horror Films of the 2010s

We made room for a single genre list, and horror was it—you’ll note we’ve erred on the generous side with what might be considered a horror film (so, yes, there are comedy horrors and psychological thrillers included). Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse swept in late in the decade to take the top spot, while Get Out and What We Do in the Shadows also ranked highly.

These were the 50 most divisive feature films, concert movies, comedy specials and other curiosities of the 2010s. These are the titles from the 2010s that had the widest spread of ratings (note: this list has been updated using a more appropriate methodology and higher minimum viewer count since this post was published).

My Year With EXO

It has officially been a year since I started listening to EXO. It actually was around this time so why not talk about it?!

How It All Started

I was listening to my playlist on shuffle mode and after my playlist was done it played me a random song. It didn’t sound bad so I let it play and by the end of it I was googling who Exo was.

Lotto was the first song from Exo that I listened to and it was on repeat for days. What sucked was that now I had a favorite song but I had no faces to put onto the beautiful voices that I was listening to.

This lead me to go onto YouTube and when I typed EXO into the search bar the first video that popped up was their “Monster” MV. It was too much beauty to handle. There should’ve been a warning sign that popped up before the video to tell me that I was about to see the most handsome men in the world lmao.

It was weird for me to see “older” idols because I had just recently gotten into kpop thanks to BTS. With BTS they are younger than EXO so me getting into Exo which were these “older” idols was weird but eventually I got used to it.

(Especially since I eventually discovered the grandpas of Kpop which are Bigbang, Sechskies and SJ)

I never thought I would end up crushing on D.O. Not because he is ugly or anything cause he is 100000% attractive but to me he was always the cute type. You know the cute small penguin that would never do anything wrong.

- The first Exo MV that I watched was Monster so I knew there was 9 members but I was confused as to why in the KoKoBop MV Lay wasn’t in it. Of course the first thing that popped into my head was “Oh he must’ve left the group.” But then I found out that he was doing his own thing in China so that helped clear up the confusion.

- I didn’t know Exo originally had 12 members but that was cleared up pretty quickly after I figured out that 3 members had left the group.

- Fun Fact: I am 100% sure that if I had known about Exo when they were ot12, I am pretty sure Tao would’ve been my bias. He is underrated and if you haven't listened to his songs you should cause they are amazing.

- I was so lost with this. I knew Exo as Exo. I didn’t know who or what was Exo - K & Exo - M. I really did think they were two separate groups. (They kinda were but w.e) I went to google for help but nothing appeared. When I found out about Exo - L I thought that was another group but no, it was the fandom name lmao. Thankfully slowley everything started to make sense once I started finding out more and more about them.

I waited so long for a comeback. DMUMT was my first comeback with them and it didn’t disappoint. (Aside from the lack of promotions *Cough* SM *Cough*)

Its been amazing seeing them get known more and more around the world. It truly makes me feel happy like an old proud mom. They have been through so much as a group and as individuals that I’m glad that they are finally at the place they deserve to be in which is the top. Of course as Exo-L’s we gotta make sure that they climb even higher. I hope to see them grow more as a group and as artists in the future. We gotta break records and keep streaming their songs.

As for SM, they better treat them right and stop cutting their promotions.

All in all its been an amazing year with Exo.

discipline

That one very underrated thing.

Not everyone’s favourite, but everyone’s need indeed.

I need it the most now, always. Your good habits will continue on saving you from failing.

Discipline is the key, lemme tell you that. You have all the time, the money, the motivation, and the facilitations ready for you to work on yourself.

But if you are not discipline enough to work your ass on it every day, you will never achieve your goal.

This new year, 2021, i will be more discipline, i’ll force myself. For my own good. I will make my bed in the morning, do some workout to gain more muscle so that i can be stronger and healthier, i will eat breakfast and take showers daily and get a good night sleep. And also hydrate my body more.

I want to be successful. As a doctor, as a person in general.

I will be successful. I will get what i work for. I will get what i want. And do what i love and receive love.

My number one priority is ME.

So here are some things i want to be discipline about:

1. Daily routine --> sleep, eat, drink, exercise, hydrate, tidying up

2. Studying medical --> podomoro sections, streaming on youtube live “study with me”

3. Learning Korean Language --> youtube, tiktok, instagram, duolingo, eggbun

4. Readings --> read my books, borrow books from my friend Anggie, listen to audiobook on youtube, download some pdf.

5. Have some fun! --> playing piano, watch some k-drama, read webtoons.

soo.. yes, as simple and as complicated as that.

As far as my relationship. Discipline is needed as well. Discipline about what kind of words im picking to my s.o. Altho im not really in a relationship with anyone but myself atm. I hope one day if i ever meet my soulmate, whether i have known them or just meet them in the future, i’ll be ready. And they’ll be ready too.

Soo…AKB48Group Senbatsu Sousenkyo is over 17 June, which is nearly a week ago (with an expected yet frustating results) and not forget to say, with a lot of drama. The most dreadful was the usual-opening-concert cancellation due to heavy rain in Okinawa, where the event are being held.

Senbatsu Sousenkyo (General Election) is an annual events held by AKB48Group which decided members who will participate in upcoming AKB48 single.

Normally, selected members (from now on it will be called Senbatsu) are chosen by management. But once a year, fans are given a chance to votes for their favorite members so that they can rank among the selected members.

Besides 16 Senbatsu members who will sing Main Track of the next single, there will also units consists of 16 members who will sing Coupling Tracks based on what ranks they got in the Election. Eligible members are members from AKB48, their Japanese Sister Group (SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48, and the newly formed group, STU48), or a Kaigai member (international sister group such as JKT48 in Indonesia and BNK48 in Thailand) whose originally an AKB48 Japanese Group member.

I feel like to comments about the ranking members so you can google their name and hopefully find out their respective awesomeness. This is also a way to know more about AKB48Group members (whose probably has more name than your neighborhood).

The first unit is Upcoming Girls consists of members who ranks #80 to #65. The formats would be Ranks. Name (Group and Team, Number of Votes) They are:

80. Hana Matsuoka (HKT48 Team TII, 15,396)

This is the newly pushed member from HKT48. She was a center (member standing in up-middle front of the formation) for HKT48 8th Single Saikou ka Yo (a fun song, try it), this is a first time she ranks in Election but despite of her push, this is pretty low imo. Still, good for her. She’s still 17 and has plenty times to grow.

79. Aki Toyonaga (HKT48 Kenkyuusei (Research Student), 15,598)

A research student, or a Trainee from HKT48. This is her first election and she already ranks-in. Amazing.

78. Yuki Takahata (SKE48 Team E, 15,804) A 7th generation member, a good start for her.

77. Yuria Kado (NGT48 Kenkyuusei, 15,990)

She wasn’t included in Team NIII and also NGT48 1st Single which was released just recently. So this is very good.

76. Moe Goto (AKB48 Team B, 16,097)

She’s one of my favorite Draftee members. She’s been a member for 4 years now yet just managed to ranks this year. Great!

75. Miyuu Omori (AKB48 Team 4, 16,162)

She’s also one of my favorite member. Too bad her rank down by two than last year.

74. Shinobu Mogi (AKB48 Team K, 16,393)

This is pretty bad. Her rank get down by 27.

73. Yui Hiwatashi (AKB48 Team A, 16,492)

She’s one of the ‘Next Generation’ member who just managed to rank-in this year.

72. Yuna Obata (SKE48 Team KII, 16,511)

A new face from SKE48 7th Generation. Great, she’s just appointed center in SKE48 newest single, too.

71. Minami Kato (NGT48 Team NIII, 16,641)

Her rank raised by 5 compared to last year. Despite being original ace of NGT48 1st generation, her rank is pretty low, though

70. Aya Miyajima (NGT48 Kenkyuusei, 16,930)

Again, get promoted later doesn’t mean you don’t have loyal fans.

69. Nagisa Sakaguchi (AKB48 Team 8, 17,303)

AKB48 Team 8 is a rather special team in AKB48Group. Being sponsored by Toyota, it consists of 47 members (now 46 with 1 announced graduation) from 47 prefectures in Japan. Nagisa is from Hokkaido and this year get 1 rank up compared to last year, by the way.

68. Sumire Sato (SKE48 Team E, 17,320)

A rather-old member, originally from AKB48 7th Generation whose have been in the group for 9 years now. One of my favorite member because we share the same birthday and some traits. Her ranks was dropped last year (frustating), but raised again this year by 7 rank.

67. Serika Nagano (AKB48 Team 8, 17,662)

From Osaka, she just managed to ranked-in this year, too.

66. Marika Tani (SKE48 Team E, 17,744)

Originally an HKT48 1st Generation member, her ranks dropped by 11 from last year (Oh NOO).

65. Nao Ota (AKB48 Team 8, 17,757)

This girl is from Kyoto and just managed to rank this year. Come to think of it, there are good amount of Team 8 members ranked this year. Nice! This girl will be center for Upcoming Girls track.

Okay, next unit from #64 to #49 will be in Future Girl tracks. Those girls are:

64. Ryoha Kitagawa (SKE48 Team S, 18,299)

One of the heavily-pushed member in SKE48 keep her rank stagnant. IMO, this is not a good situation. She’s beautiful.

63. Haruka Kumazaki (SKE48 Team E, 18,299)

Don’t follow her much. But her rank raised by 4. Congrats.

62. Aoi Motomura (HKT48 Team KIV, 18,363)

HKT48 Team KIV captain. In 2015, her rank fall from 48 to 80. Her fans then raged and made her ranked 36 last year. However, due to a lot of factor, she’s falling 26 position this year.

61. Ichikawa Miori (NMB48 Team N, 18,814)

When her name called. I was like “YATTA!” This originally AKB48 10th Gen member is your daily dose of dorkness and what makes it better. SHE’S A LEGAL LOLI! You wouldn’t believe with her appearance she was just as old as me. It was devastating that her ranks getting lower these past years. She didn’t even managed to rank last year (FRIGGIN 81 can you believe!?). Included in NHK 2017 Kohaku Utagassen Senbatsu where you can’t easily spam votes and AKB48 senbatsu twice in a row was good for her.

60. Nagisa Shibuya (NMB48 Team M, 19,263)

She’s down 4 position from last year. But what I like about this girl is, she kept smiling and grateful for her position.

59. Natsumi Matsuoka (HKT48 Team H, 19,372)

DAMN, this Team H captain (and my HKT48 Oshi) ranked-down by 13 position than last year.

58. Yuki Arai (SKE48 Team KII, 19,467)

Ranked-up 28 position. Congrats!

57. Airi Tanigawa (NMB48 Team N, 19,752)

Two years ago, this NMB48 2nd Gen member was ranked 74. She didn’t participate in 2016 election, and that decision proven good by this year result.

56. Saki Takeuchi (SKE48 Team KII, 19,919)

Ranked-down 25 position. Too bad.

55. Orin Muto (AKB48 Kenkyuusei, 20,356)

Her sister is Tomu Muto (an underrated AKB48 12th gen member whose rank was #10 in 2016 without any push) whose withdraw her participation this year. Her votes obviously came down to her sister as Orin was just debuted.

54. Nao Ueki (HKT48 Team KIV, 20,640)

Ranked-up 4 position. Congrats!

53. Maho Yamaguchi (NGT48 Team NIII, 20,818)

I know her because of her miscommunication scandal (she was suspected having sex in Showroom, some kind of live streaming site due to her heavy breathing(?)). I don’t know the detail but that was later proven not true. It was just make her more famous! Look at her rank now!

52. Haruka Komiyama (AKB48 Team 4, 20,910)

I don’t like her much, but she is a member with worst drop compared to last year (from #21 to #52).

51. Yui Oguri (AKB48 Team 8, 21,296)

Being unranked last yer, this Tokyo girl’s presence is more and more in AKB48 recently. Congrats!

50. Natsumi Tanaka (HKT48 Team H, 21,472)

The tallest member of Japanese AKB48Group. She wasn’t included in the single last year with her rank (#89). Neither was ever ranked despite of her status as HKT48 1st Gen. She has an interesting personality. Congratulations!.

49. Riko Sakaguchi (HKT48 Team H, 21,643)

Didn’t follow her. But she ranked-up 10 position. Congrats, Future Girls center!

Ranked-up 51 position. Amazing! Congratulations for being Next Girls Center! However, come to think of it. The centers of units this year are members I don’t know about lol (Except Senbatsu and Undergirls ofc).

This pairing of Nako is one of my favorite, too. While Nako is the cute one, this girl is the beautiful others. Ranked-up 17 position, she stands in Nako’s exact position last year. WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?!

This girl is called as NMB48’s future. And her 25 position jump is definitely proves that.

Originally AKB48 9th Generation Member, this poor girl ranked-down 4 position this year.

25. Moeka Takakura (NGT48 Team NIII, 28,623)

Last year, only Minami Kato managed to rank. This year is an excellent year for them.

Ranked-down 5 position. NUUUU, I like Mako, and this is bad year for her.

23. Rika Nakai (NGT48 Team NIII, 29,903)

This girl was appointed as center for NGT48 1st Single. Currently my NGT48 Oshi, she managed to jump 73 position from last year.

22. Masana Oya (SKE48 Team S, 30,236)

This one of the oldest and one of two remaining member of SKE48 1st gen wasn’t participating last year election. However, her loyal fans remains on her side, it seems.

21. Rena Kato (AKB48 Team B, 30,282)

She was pushed at almost the same time as now-graduated Haruka Shimazaki. Ranked-up 5 position, she is slowly climbing the ladder.

20. Ririka Sutou (NMB48 Team N, 31,779)

Ranked-up 24 position. This girl surely has bright future in the group. I like her because she said she likes an AKB48 4th Gen member which I like, Amina Sato (a.k.a the first underrated member in AKB48Group History). However, on her speech, she stated that

SHE IS GETTING MARRIED!

The whole fandom is on fire after this announcement. Actually, before this results announced, a paparazzi-ish newspaper in Japan called Shukan Bunshun was announced that they will reveal a member’s scandal after the election. I thought it may be a top member if they decides to drop that bomb right after the election, thus Ririka may be thought it’d be better if she announced it herself. But seriously, this news is more famous even more than the cancellation concert event, nor other big announcement which I will write later. However, there is no further announcement about what will happen to her. EDIT: It seems Ririka and her partner will still going married, but not in the near moment. She decided to leave NMB48 even though management offered her to stay. Man...I hope she will be happy wherever she is. In addition, she will continue to live in showbiz.

19. Minami Minegishi (AKB48 Team K, 34,668)

Ranked-down 2 position. This last HER HIGHNESS ORIGINAL MEMBER OF AKB48 1ST GENERATION makes a bunch of mistakes this year thus she ranked-down. I’d prefer she graduates first before another Original AKB member, Yuki Kashiwagi but it’s likely won’t happen.

18. Kaori Matsumura (SKE48 Team KII, 34,977)

Two years ago, this girl ranked in Top 16. However, she didn’t participate last year. This result isn’t that bad, it’s just the votes are getting crazy this year.

17. Mion Mukaichi (AKB48 Team K, 35,201)

Another Mio case. She was predicted to be in Kami7 (Top 7) this year. This 4 position drop is marking that this will the be first time there is no Team K representation in Top 16. She’s center, at least.

This girl is pretty famous in Youtube for her Make-Up tutorials and review channel. Moreover, to be able to jump 61 position from last year is amazing.

She’s back in Senbatsu after in Undergirls last year. 5 ranks-up!

14. Nao Furuhata (SKE48 Team KII, 40,202)

She’s been acknowledged by management, finally after managed to ranked-up 15 position than last year.

13. Hinata Honma (NGT48 Team NIII, 41,230)

First time ranked-in, and in Senbatsu! NICE!

12. Miru Shiroma (NMB48 Team M, 41,491)

My NMB48 oshimen. She is the highest NMB48 member ranking in this year election after their biggest name, Sayaka Yamamoto chose to opt out. She ranked-up 12 position.

11. Juri Takahashi (AKB48 Team 4, 42,663)

Ranked-up 4 position, this Team 4 Captain get some amount of critics because of her speech that calling out Ririka’s confession.

10. Rie Kitahara (NGT48 Team NIII, 45,684)

After a lot of NGT48 girls ranked-in, I was afraid their captain (whose initially an AKB48 5th Gen) would not rank at all. Thank God that wasn’t happen. She even jumped 2 position, and the highest result she ever managed this far.

9. Nana Okada (AKB48 Team 4, 48,143)

I predicted this Team 4 co-captain would managed to Kami7. However, her votes raised and her rank too, from #14 last year. Still good.

8. Sarina Souda (SKE48 Team KII, 52,475)

Jumped 22 position, this girl is very amazing.

From #11, this Team A Captain and also ALL48 General Manager proves she is worthy to bear the title Soukantoku (General Manager).

6. Akari Suda (SKE48 Team E, 63,124)

Ranked-up 1 position. I don’t like this girl that much, but okay.

5. Yuka Ogino (NGT48 Team NIII, 73,386)

If I call Akari Yoshida amazing I would call this girl incredible. She was ranked #1 in preliminaries, and #5 in actual results despite this is only her 2nd election and even she was unranked last year. I like this girl ever since she joined Baito AKB (Part-Timer AKB Member, lmao)

4. Sakura Miyawaki (HKT48 Team KIV, 82,803)

Ranked-up 2 position, this girl is a promising member.

3. Jurina Matsui (SKE48 Team S, 113,615)

In addition, she has won 4 elections, now. Congratulation, Sasshi. Even her threepeat winning was still overshadowed by Ririka’s announcement.

Next year, Mayuyu and Sasshi won’t be participating. Mayu because she will graduate from AKB48 *CRYING IN THE CORNER* and Sasshi because she said this will her last election. So, it will be a bloodbath between Jurina and Sakura. They’d better watch out, though. Yuka Ogino, Hinata Honma, and another numerous members whose leap high must not be underestimated.

MB : hahah no, Matt stole it from a literal person named Magdalena Bay // (they called her maggy bay)

Q : whats your biggest influence that sounds nothing like your own music

MB : we love PC Music even though we don't really sound like it

Q : out of everything you’ve made, what song is your all-time fave/which one are you the most proud of?

MB : We think Set Me Off is super underrated, but usually our fave is whatever the newest thing we write is

Q : Did Matt take up that offer at the DMV?

MB : hahaha NO

Q : whats the song you guys most had trouble with?

MB : hmmm probably move slow, we re-did the melody and production a few times before we settled on the disco vibes

Q : What made you guys decide to go for shorter song lengths, or was it somethjng that just happened naturally?

MB : We got tired of waiting so long to release official singles, wanted to do low-pressure quick songs that we could get out to our fans sooner!

Q : So like, where’s Voc pop on Spotify?

MB : hahah does anyone actually like that song?! It was the first pop thing we ever made and it was more of a learning experience for us than an actual song to us

Q : are you planning to tour europe anytime soon?

MB : we'd love to tour just need the right opportunity

Q : what's both of your favourite songs right now? also have you heard any of Caroline Polachek's music

MB : Actually one of our favorite songs right now is Door! Another is Ever Again (Robyn)

Q : one more: do you have any plans for an album in the future? Or are you just going with the flow

MB : yes we have album plans! Maybe next year

Q : Did you have a specific inspiration for Neon's music video, or was it just the whole vaporwave aesthetic in general?

MB : that video we actually didn't do ourselves, we found that archival footage of the couple and had that intro sequence sone but we sent it to our talented friend Matt Lewis who added the whole vaporwave element, we really weren't too aware of that whole world at the time! But it really worked well with Neon

Q : do you like the band Superorganism?

MB : haven't really listened to Superorganism, we'll check them out!

Q : Only thing I don’t like is the redbone cover to be honest with you and I’ve gone through your YouTube and soundcloud

MB : lol we respect that

Q : I really like your Redbone cover! What other songs would you like to cover?

MB : we always struggle to think of covers, was thinking of sourcing suggestions on Instagram so maybe we'll do that soon

Q : What is thr most difficult song of the creative process for you guys, is it, say, the lyrics, the melody, the mixing?

MB : probably lyrics, it's not that it's HARD but I get very particular about it and sometimes a little slow haha - Mica

Q : i just have to say, i think i've streamed your one song Only If You Want It a million times. it's such a bop and i think it's a great song to introduce people to your work. what was your inspiration for that song and the retro style music video?

MB : yes we think OIYWI really encapsulates what we're aiming to do musically, really glad you like it! Spice Girls, specifically Say You'll Be There, was a huge inspo. We really love that video but didn't have a plan for it AT ALL when we filmed all that footage of me with our vhs cam hahah so it was a mess but then we figured out the word art aesthetic and the bugs and it all came together

Q : How does it feel to be the highlight of my terrible day? Because once I saw the tweet I felt quite a bit better, plus my magbae playlist keeps me calm

MB : Thank you!! We made that cover ourselves so means a lot, and there's a little nod to each mini song in it which is fun

Q : have you ever covered songs that you decided against releasing?

MB : yes lol how did you know?? we did really weird attempts at promiscuous girl and rod stewart's if you think i'm sexy that will never see the light of day

Q : what is the best/worst thing you've guys have encountered so far in the music industry??

MB : best/worst thing we've encountered in the music industry: one of the best things is finding our stuff being posted on r/popheads, we used to have to do it ourselves hahah, worst thing is dealing with shady industry people

Q : Any plans for shows in the Los Angeles area by the end of the year?

MB : re LA shows: we're working on it! probably yes

Q : Did you start making music for the fun of it, or did you actually have asperations to be famous?

MB : we started making music back in high school in a rock band and it just evolved from there. I (mica) never thought I would really do this until i had to graduate college and was like wait!!! I don't want a real job!! // Matt always knew he wanted to work in music

Q : magdalena bay, how would you guys describe your songwriting process?

MB : it's pretty different for each song, only thing that stays the same is that we write lyrics after melody, not all writers do that! but a song can start with a beat or chords or sometimes melody, from either of us!

Q : ooh I actually have one more question! what song of yours has the most meaning to you? whether it’s bc of the inspiration behind it or something else

MB : probably some of the unreleased stuff, but you'll hear it soon! a song called airplane is prob the most personal to me (mica)

Q : what artist(s) would you collab with, if you could pick any?

MB : soo many but Rina Sawayama is near the top of our list

Q : If you could travel back in time and impart one piece of advise to your early teenage selves, what would it be?

MB : START MAKING POP SOONER

Q : So do you sit down for hours and work on thinking of melodies or do they come to you randomly and you're like "whelp, time to record"

MB : both definitely happen, iphone voice memos are key

Q : Actually I do have a question, if y'all had a bigger budget, what would you be doing differently?

MB : blackpink-level music videos

Q : Favorite video games?

MB : We've just started playing video games and love zelda twilight princess but we're dumb and bad at it and are always stuck lol

Q : there are several users here in popheads who are trying to get into the music industry, if you have one tip you can give them, what would it be?

MB : try to do everything you can yourself- from music production to videos to graphics you will learn a lot and be less reliant on other people!! and you'll save money haha

Q : Were you ever worried about a song with hashtag as a title/lyric? Or were you just that damn confident?

MB : yes we were worried lol

MB : don't know anything about it but matt's little sister plays it so sure

Q : we spoke about artists you'd like to work with so...what producers do you get inspiration from / would like to work with?

MB : definitely ag cook, Sophie, grimes, toro, also get a lot of influence from the classics like max martin, quincy jones, pharell

Q : What's one thing people might be surprised to learn about the both of you, respectively?

MB : Maybe that we started music playing in a progressive rock band (the opposite of pop) also matt is an amazing chef and mica is argentinian??

Q : if there is one, favourite Britney Spears album/song?

MB : BLACKOUT we listen to it every day

MB : Yes but we're not gonna link hahah, and we started making pop because we were at school in different cities and pop is easier to make long distance.... didn't know we'd fall in love with making it! Also mica discovered art angels around that time and that was that
