Hey! For requestober, would you please draw something cute with Jake and Scriabin (once Scri gets his own body)? Maybe in a Wish Fulfilment kind of AU where Jake sticks around for Edgar/Scri? I just love the idea of a setting where they get to really meet and have it go well, esp after reading Scri's reaction to Jake in Convalescence. <3 If Edgar was involved in the piece too, that would be lovely, but I'd really appreciate it with just the two, as well. Thanks so much!

Requestober sketches 2021

Day 1 wasn’t too different from sketch to final, mostly just in framing (what is it about Vargases needing to be moved around in the foreground or background lol). I like drawing hairties being held in one’s mouth, I think the last time I doodled that was with Mousey a bit back lol. I even got to keep the sparkles around Shmee in the preview!

I like my little arrow’d note of “Edgar’s helping :)” lol

This was the warmup for the day, he’s finally got a knife lol

For Day 2, I made the prelim sketch before I redesigned Marshmallow Fluff’s outfit, but everything else stayed mostly the same other than some pretty serious refining lol I actually digitally sketched everything the day before it was posted to make sure I’d get it done in time since I knew I’d be a little out of whack, and boy was I right lol

I sketched out a different pose for Charm as well, but I ended up liking the original better, so I had to scrap it. Still cute tho!

For Day 8, I did exactly one test sketch of Pneuma and was like “Well it’s obviously gotta be something about those ears, come on now.” Almost no changes from sketch to final! Expressive ears are fun, especially when I can scallop the fluff lol

Day 18, the dip ♥ Scriabin’s was pretty solid from the get-go, Edgar’s hips were re-angled and his back was leveled a bit - drawing from the pose inspiration really helped! Especially on getting the hands to interact, pulling back from the shoulder far enough to have Edgar’s arm at full extension was a little tricky but I think I got it in the end :)

Hm? The kiss pose? Haha weird, could’ve sworn I made some kiss doodles-

Ah right those haha. None of them ended up even close! S’cause I couldn’t figure out how to angle them traditionally, it was so much easier to do digitally. Didn’t stop me from making a bunch of test doodles anyway lol. I’m almost happy with the top center one except their jaw heights are inconsistent and it annoys me. I do like the lower right one tho, their jaws make up one straight line haha ♪

I got the prompt for Day 25 pretty late at night so I scribbled it down fairly quickly before bed. All the important parts are visible, like Scriabin being squished up into a snuggle, they look very cozy ♪

Day 31, my day! I doodled down the idea about a week? before committing to it since there weren’t any prompts for Halloween, I mostly wanted to see just how flashy I could get the scales to look lol. I was trying (unsuccessfully) to draw Edgar and an old art adage of “snake spine” hit me upside the head and then this ✨

Not much changed from pencils to digital! A little cleaning and some toning and a lot of fun with my scale brushes haha ♪ I’m happy I can translate from page to screen without too much fuss! Scriabin’s fang does look particularly pointy here tho lol
