Day 2 of evacuation. Things are still uncertain, the Woolsey Fire is still raging through Malibu. Power and internet have been spotty, it’s hard to get updates right now. So we are all banding together and waiting to hear when we can go back and see what has happened to our house. The outpouring of love and support from my local community, and all of you, my online community is so amazing and beautiful. I can’t express enough how everyone’s concern and thoughts and prayers has made these last 48 hours better. The former Marine accused of gunning down 12 people at a California bar hosting a college student night may have been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, authorities said Thursday.

Long used a .45 caliber Glock he’d purchased legally, though he had modified the weapon with an extended magazine, said Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean.

Richard Berge, a neighbor, told the Los Angeles Times that Long’s outbursts were common knowledge around the neighborhood, and the veteran — who lived with his mother — was known to kick in the walls of his home.
