It’s cute that Jensen and Keegan golf! Well I assume Jared is also there lol
Who knows. Keegan may just know that Jensen likes to Golf and was taking the mickey out of him, lol! I don't even know if Keegan golfs, but I know Jared's not a huge fan.

A comprehensive summary of the chaos that was the Netflix Cup:
- as the drivers/golfers walk onto the course a woman and a man are apprehended (by one of the hosts(?)) as they are waving posters and screaming something. lando was unbothered by this.
- everyone was introduced except alex for some reason
- the “speed” hole
- mark wahlberg is there. his daughter is interviewed and she reveals her favorite driver is lando. lando is once again unbothered by this.
- lando picking up his ball and being disqualified from the hole
- the golfers BOOKING IT and the hosts having shocked reactions to this feat (“who says golfers aren’t athletic!”)
- justin thomas to carlos “what did [host] say?” carlos “he said i’m pretty”
- random cuts to prerecorded nonsense
- the sphere being referred to solely as the egg
- the hosts making fun of the golfers and the golfers making fun back (very interesting i would not expect this level of sass from golf)
- pierre reveals he is a passenger princess “I don’t actually drive on the roads. i don’t like it.”
- shots of lando and carlos playing but pierre and alex are hot-mic’ed ???
- asmr whispering from one of the hosts telling zak brown she has to pee
- no one can hear each other
- zak brown can’t figure out his mic and it’s making so much noise you can’t hear anything else
- “mr. maximus homa this is joel damon, can you hear me?” “unfortunately, i can yes, joel.”
- max homa making fun of joel damon for a solid minute and then saying about alex “yo my partner is dialed, that’s the money” unhinged behavior
- host (same bodyguard from before - burt kreischer(?)) cannot express how excited he is to have steve aoki ask for his #
- not one host can pronounce sainz correctly
- “that’s sniffing my ball speed there” “ok joel”
- marshawn lynch “these golfers boutta get they happy gilmore on”
- squid game CHALLENGE HOLE(???) burt kreischer “are they gonna kill me or break out into dance? who knows but they are creepy as shit”
- burt yet again “i will piss myself on live television for $4.56 million. i’ve done it for less”
- the mystical steve aoki has appeared
- the (infamous) Albon Tumble™
- pierre aiming directly into the crowd and alex and max applauding him (kudos to finau for reassuring pierre afterwards that everyone is fine)
- a conversation: “smooth operator, is that your nickname?” “yes that’s what they call me” “how’d that happen?” “i sang it once after a race”
- marshawn lynch “i met the squid game people. you got triangle face, square cuz and circle head”
- alex announcing that the squid game doll looks like Lily. alex i will hunt you down (endearing)
- patrick mahomes phoned in to tell pierre the exact amount of coors lights’ he must drink to play golf effectively (i am not kidding)
- joel objectifying tony finau by commenting (in detail) about his arms and hands (i know what you are joel)
- “a sexy street circuit here in vegas” ma’am it looks like a pig what are you talking about
- carlos and justin won. burt wants to party like it’s new year’s eve. i would pay to see this
and thus wraps the (somewhat) comprehensive review ! maybe next year netflix will make it less of a shit show but honestly, iconic.

DeChambeau Wins U.S. Open as McIlroy Crumbles
Tumblr media
Bryson DeChambeau secured the U.S. Open Sunday after an exciting final-round duel, defeating Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland by a shot at the Pinehurst resort in North Carolina. DeChambeau kept his nerve and made par at the 18th, playing brilliant up-and-down from the rough. McIlroy made a dogged charge but fell short at the finish. He bogeyed three of his last four holes, including a miss from inside four feet on the 18th. His final round of 69 left him well adrift in solitary second, a shot ahead of Americans Patrick Cantlay and Tony Finau.
DeChambeau, beginning the day three shots clear, found himself trailing McIlroy by two with five holes to play, but a clutch birdie at the 13th kept him in contention. The putting woes of McIlroy paved the way for DeChambeau, who gained his second career major win at six-under 274. DeChambeau confessed relief after a string of second-place finishes, which included last month’s PGA Championship, saying he was so resolute not to waste such an opportunity again. He confessed he was a bit fortunate as he watched McIlroy miss critical putts down the stretch. His final round of one-over 71 proved good enough in a heart-stopping win.

Bryson DeChambeau Claims Second Major with US Open Victory
Bryson DeChambeau, the world’s No. 38 golfer, has won the 124th U.S. Open at Pinehurst No.2 in Pinehurst, North Carolina. This is DeChambeau’s second major title, both at the U.S. Open. DeChambeau held off the No. 3 golfer in the world, Rory McIlroy, in a nerve-racking finale to secure the second major of his career. The LIV star finished the final round even-par 71 and nearly saw a three-shot lead slip away. Bryson DeChambeau of the United States reacts after making a birdie on the fifth hole during the third round of the 124th U.S. Open at Pinehurst Resort on June 15, 2024 in Pinehurst, North… Bryson DeChambeau of the United States reacts after making a birdie on the fifth hole during the third round of the 124th U.S. Open at Pinehurst Resort on June 15, 2024 in Pinehurst, North Carolina. DeChambeau takes home the 124th U.S. Open title. More Gregory Shamus/Getty Images McIlroy could have easily taken home the trophy; however, this shot closed the door for himself and opened it for DeChambeau. Mcllroy leaves Pinehurst with another heartbreaker and will now have to wait to end his 10-year major title drought end. At one point, DeChambeau saw himself in second place, and there was a chance he could’ve stayed there; however, a huge bunker shot at the 18th and a late collapse from McIlroy helped the 30-year-old win it all. The California native was dominant all weekend long, but especially on Saturday when he entered Sunday with a three-shot lead. He was three-under 67 and nearly matched the low round of the day.DeChambeau finished at 6-under for the week, McIlroy finished alone in second at 5-under, and Tony Finau and Patrick Cantlay finished in a tie for third at 4-under. DeChambeau traded strokes throughout the afternoon with Mcllory, as the veteran almost came back to steal the title. DeChambeau was at the top of the leaderboard for most of the week. The now two-time major winner sometimes struggled to find the fairway, which was one of the issues he wanted to fix heading into the final day—nonetheless, his struggles of doing just that weren’t enough to give up the top spot. DeChambeau seems to love playing at the U.S. Open, considering his other major win is from this tournament. This week’s tournament lacked drama and entertainment. DeChambeau was electric all week long, interacting with the crowd, fist-pumping when he hit a big shot, and being animated. The 30-year-old now joins the likes of Walter Hagen, Lee Trevino, and Brooks Koepka with two U.S. Open victories. The former PGA Tour player is changing the narrative surrounding LIV players and is bringing that flare and style to the sport that is so desperately needed. It’s a game of mere inches, and that’s what it came down to on the final day. DeChambeau reigns victorious after a thriller of a week at Pinehurst. Hollis Cavner 3M Open will have a Competitive Tour
Tumblr media
It’s labeled as Minnesota’s golf event of the summer. Tournament officials hosted media day on Monday at the course, and Executive Tournament Director Hollis Cavner quickly addressed the elephant in the room that's challenging PGA Tour fields: The LIV Tour.
The new Saudi-backed golf tour has attracted some of the game’s best players, including Dustin Johnson and Louis Oosthuisen. PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan is suspending any current players headed to the LIV Tour, meaning they can’t play in any tour events, such as the 3M Open.
The LIV Tour is a series of eight events that are 54-hole tournaments without a cut. The winner of the first event, Charl Schwartzel, won more than $4 million. The last place finisher gets $100,000. Players are also put on teams, which are paid for their group’s performance. Some players got paid hundreds of millions of dollars to join.
This year’s field will include 32 players who have won a tournament within the last 12 months, including six winners so far this season. The biggest of those names includes Sungjae Im, Tom Hoge and Tony Finau. Their most recent commitment, Sahith Theegala, took second to Xander Schaufelle on Sunday at the Travelers Insurance Championship.
The 3M Open will also feature 11 players who have finished in the top 10 in the tournament the last three years. They include Adam Hadwin, Lucas Glover, Spring Lake Park native Troy Merritt, Charles Howell III and Finau.
Fans will also see three major champion winners, most recently Danny Willett, the 2016 Master’s champion. Cavner said he’ll release more big names coming to Blaine in the three weeks leading up to the tournament. TPC Twin Cities will play to a 7,441-yard par-71, and the field will be cut from 156 to the low 60 and ties after 36 holes. The winner gets $1.35 million, and 500 points towards the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Edina native and former professional tennis player Mardy Fish, now playing on a celebrity golf tour, ha also been given a sponsor's exemption to play. The event, with its corporate sponsors, will also raise more than $1.5 million for local charities M Health Fairview, The First Tee Minnesota and Greater Twin Cities United Way.
"I feel good about where we’re at. We want this to be the happening of the summer. We’re going to have the best tournament ever this year I think," Cavner said.
