Weight Issues in Kids: A Diabetes Warning
This article is originally published on Freedom from Diabetes website, available here.
Childhood obesity in India has reached epidemic proportions. It is no coincidence that India is also leading in the race to become the next diabetes capital of the world. The connection between obesity and metabolic disorders, like diabetes, Blood Pressure, and heart disease, has already been established. So what will the future be like with a massive young but overweight population coming around the bend.
Tumblr media
The medical implications are enormous and so are the financial considerations. It is imperative that this problem be tackled at the micro-level, i.e. in every family. But before we look at treatments, let us understand what has caused this situation to begin with.
What are the main causes of childhood obesity?
In this huge population, Childhood obesity in India has reached epidemic proportions. Childhood obesity has become a serious problem in recent years. There are many causes of childhood obesity. There is no single cause of childhood obesity. There are several inter-related factors, including biological, developmental, behavioral, genetic, and environmental ones.
Recent studies show that factors like epigenetics (how behavior and environment affect gene function) and the gut microbiome are contributing to the increasing number of obese people.
The environment play a big role, it has a big impact. As people get wealthier, their diets shift from simple, healthy foods to modern ones high in fat, sugar, salt, and preservatives. Urban living also leads to a more inactive lifestyle with little exercise.
Lets understand their reasons one by one.
Nurture or Nature?
If your parent or grandparent is overweight, it's more likely that you might be overweight too. Research shows that children of overweight or obese mothers are more likely to be overweight by age four. This is regardless of their BMI at two. On the other hand, studies show that children born in families where neither parent is overweight are less likely to be overweight. This is of course by no means definitive, as there are many other factors that have a bearing too. For instance: stress.
Stress
Sometime Children living in a stressful environment are more likely to be overweight than those living with less familial stress.
Parental Guidance
Your parents should be educated. They should know, how to take care about your health. They should have understanding of the role nutrition and physical activity play are other factors, as are school and community influences, such as access to fast food restaurants, excessive screen time, whereas proximity to parks is known to reduce the risk of being overweight.
Health Risks of Childhood Obesity
Childhood obesity brings many potential health implications. Obesity during childhood will increase the risk of hypertension, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and even osteoarthritis.
It also significantly raises the danger of contracting diabetes type 2, coronary problems, stroke, respiratory problems, mental health issues, and some cancers. Little wonder then that India is projected to be the world’s diabetes capital.
Prevention & Treatment
The WHO describes childhood obesity as one of the 21st Century’s most serious public health challenges.
How to prevent childhood obesity:
Consuming more fruits and vegetables Greens are high in nutrients and fibre, and they are also low in calories and carbohydrates. Vegetables like cauliflower and cabbage are potent weight loss foods, as are fruits like apples and pears. So try to eat more vegetable and fruits.
Minimizing screen time This generation is using mobiles more. And even parent allowed them. But this not good for them. Watching TV just compounds the problem. Keep busy your kids with other activities, like logical games, or other which is useful for them. Avoid this screen time.
Lowering sugar intake
Sugar is the chief component of the flavoured beverages children love so well. But it’s frighteningly high in sugar, which as we all know is also highly addictive. Water is a far healthier substitute and should be encouraged. A good preventive measure is to avoid stocking your fridge with sugary drinks.
Increasing physical activity Academic pressures/competitions and limited time has resulted in less physical activity. Your kids should spend time on the playground is a must to combat the effects of unhealthy diets and sedentary living. Parents should encourage their children to get at least an hour every day –playtime in the open air for younger children and vigorous physical activity for older ones.
5.Parental Role Parent are role model of their children's. So parents should be more careful about their behavior. Because Children see what parents do and behave accordingly; this includes eating habits. Parents who eat more fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole-grain, and nuts are more likely to have children who have healthy eating habits too. So parent have to follow these rules, so their kids will automatically do!
Milk and milk products should be avoided as far as possible. There are better non-dairy substitutes with a higher and cleaner nutrition palette.
Cut our or at least reduce consumption of fast foods. These are invariably high in sugar, salt, and fats.
Cut out snacking entirely. It leads to grazing, which is just a manner of continuous eating.
Avoid force to your child to eat, as it can lead to poor self-control and obesity. Teach them to eat at regular times, and don't use food as a way to pass time or as a reward. Understanding Pilonidal Sinus: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment Options
Tumblr media
Pilonidal sinus, often referred to as pilonidal disease or cyst, is a condition that affects the skin at the top of the buttocks crease. While it may not be a common household term, those who have experienced its symptoms understand the discomfort and frustration it can cause. In this blog post, we will explore the causes, symptoms, and treatment options for pilonidal sinus to provide a comprehensive understanding of this condition.
What is Pilonidal Sinus?
Pilonidal sinus is a condition characterized by the development of a small tunnel or cyst in the skin, typically at the top of the buttocks, near the tailbone. The exact cause of pilonidal sinus is not fully understood, but it is believed to be associated with hair growth and friction in the affected area. People who sit for prolonged periods or have excess hair in the area are more prone to developing pilonidal sinus.
Causes of Pilonidal Sinus
The primary cause of pilonidal sinus is thought to be hair penetrating the skin and causing an inflammatory reaction. Other factors that may contribute to the development of pilonidal sinus include:
Friction: Friction from clothing or prolonged sitting can irritate the skin and lead to the formation of a pilonidal sinus.
Genetics: Some studies suggest that genetics may play a role in the development of pilonidal sinus, as it tends to run in families.
Poor Hygiene: Poor hygiene, especially in the buttocks area, can increase the risk of developing pilonidal sinus.
Obesity: Being overweight or obese can increase the likelihood of developing pilonidal sinus, as excess weight can put pressure on the buttocks area.
Inactive Lifestyle: People who sit for long periods, such as truck drivers or office workers, may be more prone to developing pilonidal sinus due to the increased pressure and friction in the buttocks area.
Symptoms of Pilonidal Sinus
The symptoms of pilonidal sinus can vary from person to person but often include:
Pain: Pain in the affected area, especially when sitting or standing for long periods.
Swelling: Swelling around the cyst or sinus opening.
Redness: Redness and tenderness in the affected area.
Drainage: Drainage of pus or blood from the sinus opening.
Fever: In some cases, fever may occur if the sinus becomes infected.
Treatment Options for Pilonidal Sinus
The treatment for pilonidal sinus depends on the severity of the condition and may include:
Home Remedies: For mild cases, home remedies such as warm compresses and good hygiene practices may help reduce symptoms.
Antibiotics: If the sinus is infected, your doctor may prescribe antibiotics to help clear the infection.
Incision and Drainage: In more severe cases, a procedure called incision and drainage may be performed to drain the cyst and remove any hair or debris.
Surgery: For recurrent or chronic cases, surgery may be recommended to remove the sinus and prevent future recurrences. Surgical options include excision, where the sinus is removed entirely, or flap surgery, where surrounding tissue is used to cover the wound.
Prevention of Pilonidal Sinus
While pilonidal sinus may not always be preventable, there are steps you can take to reduce your risk:
Good Hygiene: Keep the buttocks area clean and dry, especially after sweating or physical activity.
Hair Removal: If you have excess hair in the buttocks area, consider hair removal methods such as shaving or waxing.
Avoid Prolonged Sitting: If possible, avoid sitting for long periods to reduce pressure and friction in the buttocks area.
Maintain a Healthy Weight: If you are overweight or obese, losing weight can help reduce the risk of developing pilonidal sinus.

Title: The Growing Crisis: Obesity in India
Introduction:
Obesity, once considered a problem of affluence in Western societies, has now become a significant health concern in India. This report delves into the rising prevalence of obesity in India, its contributing factors, and the potential consequences for public health.
The Current Situation:
India is undergoing a nutritional transition, marked by a shift from traditional diets to more westernized, high-calorie foods. This transition, coupled with sedentary lifestyles and urbanization, has led to a surge in obesity rates across all age groups.
Statistics:
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), India is home to the third-highest number of obese individuals globally, following the United States and China. A recent National Family Health Survey (NFHS) reported that over 20% of Indian adults are now overweight or obese, with the prevalence higher in urban areas.
Contributing Factors:
Several factors contribute to the rising obesity epidemic in India:
1. Changing Dietary Patterns: Traditional diets rich in fruits, vegetables, and grains are being replaced by processed foods high in sugar, fat, and salt.
2. Sedentary Lifestyles: Urbanization has led to decreased physical activity levels, with more people relying on cars and technology for daily tasks.
3. Genetic Predisposition: Certain genetic factors make some individuals more susceptible to weight gain, exacerbating the problem.
4. Socioeconomic Factors: Obesity is often associated with higher socioeconomic status, as access to unhealthy foods and sedentary lifestyles increases with income.
Health Implications:
Obesity is a significant risk factor for several chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and certain types of cancer. The economic burden of obesity-related healthcare costs is also substantial, placing additional strain on the healthcare system.
Challenges and Solutions:
Addressing the obesity epidemic in India requires a multi-faceted approach:
1. Promoting Healthy Lifestyles: Public health campaigns promoting balanced diets and regular physical activity are essential to raise awareness and encourage behavior change.
2. Regulating the Food Environment: Implementing policies to reduce the availability and marketing of unhealthy foods, such as sugar-sweetened beverages and processed snacks, can help curb consumption.
3. Improving Access to Healthcare: Ensuring access to affordable healthcare services, including preventive measures and obesity treatment options, is crucial for managing the burden of obesity-related diseases.
Conclusion:
Obesity poses a significant public health challenge in India, with far-reaching consequences for individuals, communities, and the healthcare system. Addressing this issue requires concerted efforts from government, healthcare providers, the food industry, and society as a whole to promote healthier lifestyles and environments. Only through collective action can we effectively combat the obesity epidemic and safeguard the well-being of future generations.

Classification of Heart Failure: Heart failure stages and their treatment
Heart failure occurs when the heart is unable to perform its function. The heart is an important organ of our body which works 24/7. Yes, it's true! It does not stop at all and works even when we sleep. It is one of the precious parts of our body which supplies blood to all parts of the body.
Tumblr media
In this context, GS Hospital, the top heart care hospital in UP has come forward to raise awareness about one such heart problem which is considered serious and fatal- Heart Failure. With heart attacks being on the rise these days, it is important to be aware of heart failure issues and take preventive steps to keep them at bay.
GS Hospital is the best heart care center in Meerut which has special expertise in treating heart problems under the guidance of the top cardiologists in India. Located in the heart of Delhi NCR, the hospital is known to be thetop heart care hospital in Ghaziabad for its supreme health services to patients across the nation.
Through this blog, the hospital aims to provide awareness by educating people about classification, stages with the best solution, and treatment for heart failure.
What is heart failure?
In medical terms, heart failure is also known as congestive cardiac failure. This simply means failure of the heart to function effectively. As we all know, the main function of the heart is to pump blood to all parts of the body. Heart failure is a chronic condition that can cause major complications if ignored. It can affect the quality of life and interfere with daily activities.
It is important to diagnose a particular heart problem at an initial stage to prevent complications. Early detection is the key to recovery. Awareness is a must for early detection of heart problems. It is important to reach out to your doctor at the earliest, in case of any discomfort experienced about your health.
With this, let us give you some insights into the classification and stages of heart disease along with treatment and the best holistic solutions for a healthy heart.
What happens in heart failure?
In heart failure, the heart muscles become weak and are unable to carry out the function of pumping blood, oxygen, and nutrients to other organs and systems of the body. All the body organs and systems are dependent on the heart to work harmoniously for effective overall well-being. Here are some reasons why heart failure may occur.
Coronary artery disease due to fatty deposits in the heart
Heart attack
Cardiomyopathy- A condition which causes hypertrophy or thickening of heart muscles
Myocarditis- Inflammation of heart issues
Bacterial Endocarditis due to viral infections affecting heart tissues
Congenital heart disease since birth
Genetic heart problems
Irregular heart rate or rhythm causing arrhythmia
Pulmonary hypertension due to increased pressure in the lungs
Obesity or being overweight
Diabetes
Malignant hypertension due to chronic stress
High cholesterol levels due to lack of exercise and intake of unhealthy food
Underactive thyroid
Addictions like smoking and alcohol
Types of heart failure
There are two types of heart failure which are as follows:
Left-sided heart failure- This mainly occurs when the left chamber of the heart cannot pump and supply blood to other parts of the body. It causes depletion in supplying oxygen-rich blood to the body parts. It is mainly due to the following reasons
Weakened heart muscles lose the ability to contract and relax
Impairment in the functioning of the heart causes blood to flow back into the lungs.
Right-sided heart failure- This mainly occurs when the right chamber of the heart is unable to pump blood to the lungs causing a lack of oxygen-rich blood.
Both left and right-sided heart failure are interrelated to each other and can cause major stress on the heart resulting in heart failure.
Diagnostic test for heart failure
Your cardiologist will run a detailed case analysis through symptoms and past medical history before finalizing diagnostic tests. In cases of emergency heart issues, the cardiologist may prescribe the diagnostic test post-check-up on an immediate basis. Here are some of the diagnostic tests for heart failure which are mainly considered.
Blood test to check cholesterol and blood sugar levels
ECG to check the electrical activity of the heart
ECHO to check the functional capacity of the heart
Respiratory tests such as spirometry in case of breathless
MRI, CT scan, or chest X-ray to check for structural changes in the heart and lungs
Coronary angiogram to check the blood supply to the heart
Stress test to determine oxygen and blood supply to the heart
BNP test to check the levels of BNP hormone (B-type natriuretic peptide)
Symptoms of heart failure
The symptoms of heart failure are as follows:
Shortness of breath at rest or exertional dyspnea during activities
Fatigue and tiredness
Feeling lightheadedness, weak with fainting attacks due to lack of oxygen supply to all the tissues
Oedema and swelling of the lower legs
A sudden weight gains
Bloating and gastric disturbances
Abdominal swelling
Heart palpitations with heart attacks
Loss of appetite
Constant coughing and gagging
Memory loss, and confusion
Awareness about symptoms of heart failure is a must to ensure proper adequate timely measures are taken to avoid complications.
Stages of heart failure
Heart failure is a chronic problem and has long-lasting effects on overall well-being. Detection of heart failure at an early stage is the key to prevention. There are four stages of heart failure:
Stage A: This is the first stage of heart failure when the patient is diagnosed with diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, metabolic syndrome, and obesity. These are considered high-risk factors for heart failure. The heart failure issue at this stage can be prevented by making lifestyle changes and medications. Stage A heart failure is considered a mildly symptomatic stage and can be diagnosed by your doctor.
Stage B: Stage B heart failure is considered an asymptomatic stage where there are no active symptoms. This suggests some hidden symptoms of heart failure which can be accidentally diagnosed with routine check-ups through ECG or ECHO. That's why, routine heart check-ups are a must with your doctor.
Stage C: Stage C is the third stage of cardiac failure characterized by visible symptoms such as shortness of breath, palpitations, and coughing. It is important to receive immediate medical attention at this stage for the prevention of complications in the future. The symptoms of heart failure can be confirmed with diagnostic tests specific to heart failure as recommended by the doctor.
Stage D: Stage D is the most advanced form of heart failure which needs medical and surgical intervention. The symptoms in this stage of heart failure are also very severe. Symptoms may initially start on activity and result in recurrent flare-ups and exacerbation at times.
Untreated cases of heart failure can cause complications leading to life-threatening problems affecting multiple systems of the body.
Complications of heart failure
The complications of heart failure are as follows-
Stroke
Liver problems
Kidney issues
Sudden onset of heart attack
Thromboembolism
Arrhythmias
Multi-system dysfunction
Treatment for heart failure
Your cardiologist will recommend the best treatment for heart failure to prevent worsening or further deterioration to allow recovery by relieving your symptoms.
Medications can help to improve the functioning of the heart. The medicines must be taken as per your doctor’s prescription. Some medicines for heart failure are beta-blockers, angiotensin receptor blockers, cholesterol-lowering medicines, nitrates, and blood thinners.
Surgery can be considered in extreme or advanced cases of heart failure. This includes bypass surgery, percutaneous coronary intervention, and heart transplant surgery.
Heart devices can help monitor the heart rhythm with the help of a pacemaker, left ventricular assist device, and cardiac synchronization therapy.

Why have regular health check-ups, especially in India?
The importance of routine health check-ups cannot be overstated, particularly in the rapidly changing Indian healthcare environment. Regular health check-ups are crucial for preventive healthcare, supported by robust scientific evidence from across the world. Numerous studies highlight the benefits of routine screenings and examinations in promoting overall well-being. For instance, a study published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine emphasizes that regular check-ups lead to early detection of health issues, improving treatment outcomes. Early intervention has been linked to better survival rates in diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular conditions (JAMA Network Open).
Regular health check-ups are particularly relevant to people in India due to the unique healthcare challenges and conditions prevalent in the country. India faces a dual burden of infectious diseases and a rapidly rising incidence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and respiratory illnesses.
India Disease Caseload – In Brief
The contribution of most major non-communicable disease groups to the total disease burden has increased all over India since 1990, including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases, mental health and neurological disorders, cancers, musculoskeletal disorders, and chronic kidney disease.
According to the study report “India: Health of the Nation’s States”- The India State-Level Disease Burden Initiative in 2017 by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), it is estimated that the proportion of deaths due to Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in India has increased from 37.9% in 1990 to 61.8% in 2016. The four major NCDs are cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), cancers, chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs), and diabetes. Non-communicable diseases led to 66% of deaths in India in 2019, as per the WHO report.
Among the leading non-communicable diseases, the largest disease burden or rate increase from 1990 to 2016 was observed for diabetes, at 80%, and ischaemic heart disease, at 34%.
Key Factors that Cause NCDs are:
Tobacco use
Alcohol use
Physical inactivity
Salt Intake
Low fruit and/or vegetable consumption
Raised blood pressure
Raised blood glucose
Overweight and Obesity
Increased saturated fat consumption
Raised cholesterol
What does one do in this very challenging environment for health? Why have periodic health check-ups?
The prevalence of NCDs and their increase in the disease caseload is a warning sign to take preventive action. Economic growth means more disposable and discretionary spending, often on food, drinks, and a sedentary lifestyle, which invites NCDs. How does one take care of health in such a scenario? The answer is periodic health checks. Remember, what you measure is what you improve.
Here are some factors that contribute to the importance of routine health examinations in the Indian context:
Prevalence of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs): India is witnessing a significant increase in NCDs, driven by factors like urbanization, sedentary lifestyles, and dietary changes. Regular health check-ups are crucial for early detection and effective management of conditions like diabetes and hypertension, helping to curb the growing NCD epidemic.
High Population Density: India’s high population density poses challenges to healthcare delivery. Regular health check-ups can serve as a proactive approach to identifying and addressing health issues early, minimizing the strain on healthcare facilities and resources.
Preventive Care in Rural Areas: In rural areas, where healthcare accessibility may be limited, regular health check-ups become even more critical. These check-ups can aid in preventive care, early detection of diseases, and the implementation of basic healthcare measures.
Diverse Socioeconomic Conditions: India exhibits diverse socioeconomic conditions, leading to variations in lifestyle, dietary habits, and access to healthcare. Regular health check-ups help bridge gaps in healthcare disparities by providing a standardized approach to preventive care and early detection, ensuring that individuals across different socioeconomic strata receive essential healthcare services. Regular health check-ups can help tailor interventions based on individual needs, considering the diverse health profiles across different socioeconomic strata.
Prevalence of Infectious Diseases: While non-communicable diseases are on the rise, infectious diseases still pose a significant threat in some regions of India. Routine health check-ups contribute to early detection and containment of infectious diseases through timely vaccinations and screenings.
Environmental Factors: Pollution, inadequate sanitation, and waterborne diseases are prevalent environmental challenges in India. Conditions such as air pollution, water quality, and exposure to various pollutants can have a profound impact on health. Regular health check-ups allow for the monitoring of health indicators affected by these environmental factors, leading to timely interventions.
Genetic Diversity: India boasts genetic diversity, contributing to variations in disease susceptibility and response to treatments. Regular health check-ups facilitate a personalized approach to healthcare, considering genetic factors and tailoring interventions accordingly.
Urbanization Challenges: Rapid urbanization in India brings about lifestyle changes that impact health. Regular check-ups can address the health implications of urbanization, including sedentary lifestyles, dietary shifts, and increased stress levels.
Cultural and Dietary Practices: Cultural practices and dietary habits in India can contribute to unique health challenges. Regular health check-ups provide an avenue for healthcare providers to address lifestyle-related concerns, offer dietary guidance, and promote healthier living practices.
Limited Awareness: There is often limited awareness about preventive healthcare measures in certain segments of the Indian population. Regular health check-ups can serve as an educational tool, raising awareness about the importance of early detection and preventive care.
Conclusion
Regular health check-ups are highly relevant in India due to the unique combination of epidemiological, socioeconomic, and environmental factors. Indians should prioritize periodic health check-ups to proactively manage the country’s evolving health landscape. Regular screenings enable early detection of prevalent conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, prevalent in India. With diverse lifestyles, genetic factors, and environmental influences, tailored health check-ups empower individuals to address specific health risks. Timely interventions through check-ups contribute to better overall health outcomes and the effective management of prevalent health issues, aligning with India’s unique healthcare challenges.

Ayurvedic Medicine for Erectile Dysfunction
Tumblr media
Ayurvedic medicine is an ancient medical system that is still widely used in India.
Ayurvedic treatments typically use plant-based materials such as herbs, along with lifestyle changes, to treat physical and mental health issues.
Some people utilize ayurvedic treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED).
ED is the inability to get or keep a firm erection.
Significant research is lacking on the efficacy of Ayurvedic treatments to treat this condition.
Even so, anecdotal evidence and studies done primarily on rats point to positive effects.
We’ll go into detail about the practice of Ayurveda and erectile dysfunction in this article.
Characteristics of ED
People with erectile dysfunction can’t get or maintain an erection firm enough to use during penetrative sex.
ED is usually caused by problems with the blood supply to the penis.
This condition becomes more common as people with penises age.
ED can happen occasionally, because of stress or other issues.
Long-term or consistent ED may signal an underlying health problem, such as:
insomnia
hypertension
type 2 diabetes
alcohol misuse
prostate problems
It may also indicate emotional or psychological issues.
ED can be highly distressing for people who have it.
It can also negatively impact you’re your relationships.
Often, addressing the underlying cause will be effective at eliminating ED.
What is Ayurvedic medicine?
Ayurveda is a natural system of medicine.
It originated in India over 3,000 years ago, where it is still practiced and administered by trained professionals.
Ayurvedic medicine is based on the concept of addressing imbalances in the body caused by stress and other factors.
It has been shown to have some benefits for managing type 2 diabetes symptoms.
People with ED who also have diabetes may see an improvement in both conditions from some Ayurvedic treatments.
Ayurvedic medicine utilizes many strategies that are known to be effective for reducing stress, such as:
yoga
meditation
massage therapy
It also utilizes herbs and dietary supplements which are not regulated in the U.S for medicinal use.
How it can help
Some of the herbs utilized in Ayurvedic medicine have been shown in animal studies to mitigate the effects of type 2 diabetes.
If this condition is a cause of your ED, you may see some benefits from Ayurveda.
Herbs have also been shown in animal studies to increase “sexual vigor” and libido.
They may have a similar effect on humans, although the research is lacking.
Lifestyle modifications that include stress busters such as yoga plus increased physical activity, can have highly beneficial results.
Exercise, meditation, and yoga can benefit some underlying causes of ED.
They can also support enhanced blood flow throughout the body, including to the penis.
Stress reduction and mood elevation is a large, added plus.
How to take/implement Ayurvedic medicine
Ayurvedic treatments vary. You can work with a seasoned practitioner or try to utilize some common treatments at home. Ayurvedic preparations to try include:
Withania somnifera (Indian ginseng)
Withania somnifera is an herb commonly used in ayurvedic medicine.
It’s also called Indian ginseng and ashwagandha.
It has been found to improve sperm count and semen volume.
While this doesn’t specifically address ED, it may be beneficial for some people.
Indian ginseng works by regulating hormone levels and eliminating free radicals.
Indian ginseng has been shown to increase testosterone levels in older men who have overweight.
Due to its regulatory function, it may have some benefit for people with low testosterone.
The herb is also used to improve mental clarity and help reduce stress.
Both factors can have an impact on ED symptoms.
You can purchase this herb from most drug stores and health food stores.
It’s available as a powdered root extract and in capsule form.
In order for it to be most effective, it’s recommended that the daily dosage be tailored to each individual.
Asparagus racemosus
Asparagus racemosus is a particular species of herb that grows in regions of India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
In Ayurveda, it’s known as shatavari, or “curer of one hundred diseases.”
The Asparagus racemosus root is used in many preparations of ayurvedic vajikarana mixtures: It’s meant to improve sexual function and health.
An on hyperglycemic male rats showed benefits for reducing sexual dysfunction.
Some studies have shown its effectiveness on the male reproductive system in its capability to improve circulation and calm nerves.
Both of these benefits should aid men with ED.
In the ayurvedic tradition, it’s also believed to be an aphrodisiac that promotes love and loyalty in those who use it.
Asparagus racemosus extract is available as a tincture and as a powder, but there has been little to no research on what the optimal daily dosage for a person would be.
Safed musli
Safed musli, or Chlorophytum borivilianum, is also a vajikarana herb.
It was shown to boost libido in an animal study on rats.
Another animal study on rats indicated that it boosted sperm count and sexual activity. It can be purchased in capsule or pure powder form.
Yoga
To really embrace the ayurvedic method of treatment for any health condition, physical activity should be part of your treatment.
The practice of yoga is being researched more and more for its health benefits.
Yoga combines stretching, concentration, and meditation, improving circulation and reducing stress levels.
The stress-level benefit alone might be enough to improve symptoms of ED, but yoga has also been shown to promote healthy levels of testosterone.
Provided you’re healthy enough to engage in light aerobic exercise, you can begin a yoga practice at any time by attending a class led by a yogi or even following an exercise DVD or app at home.
Risks of Ayurvedic Medicine and How to Reduce Them
There are multiple risks to using ayurvedic herbal preparations.
These risks can be mitigated by working with a seasoned Ayurvedic practitioner, coupled with a licensed medical healthcare professional.
It’s important to know what you’re taking, what it contains, and how it will interact with other medications you’re on.
Only use herbs and supplements purchased from a reputable, transparent manufacturer who readily supplies comprehensive information about their ingredients and testing facilities.
Also, make sure to let your doctor know of any at-home preparations you’re planning to use before you start.
Potential risks include:
ingestion of toxic substances, such as arsenic, lead, or mercury
overdosage of an herb or supplement
negative interaction between a supplement and a prescribed medication
Not much is known about the proper dosages of Ayurvedic herbs and their possible interactions with other herbal and synthetic drugs.
Self-treating your ED with a combination of these herbs might be appealing, but without consulting your doctor first, the results are unpredictable.

Peritoneal Dialysis Procedure at PACE Hospitals Hyderabad,India
PACE Hospitals is a leading provider of peritoneal dialysis (PD) services in Hyderabad, India. We offer both continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) and automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) to our patients.
Tumblr media
PD is a type of dialysis that uses the lining of your abdomen (the peritoneum) to filter waste products and excess fluids from your blood. This is done by infusing a sterile solution called dialysate into your abdomen. The dialysate absorbs waste products and fluids from your blood and then drains out of your abdomen.
Types of Peritoneal Dialysis
There are two main types of PD:
Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD): This is the most common type of PD. With CAPD, you will exchange the dialysate solution manually four to five times a day.
Automated peritoneal dialysis (APD): With APD, a machine will exchange the dialysate solution for you. This can be done at night while you sleep, or during the day while you are at home or work.
Tumblr media
Benefits of Peritoneal Dialysis
PD has several advantages over hemodialysis, another type of dialysis. These advantages include:
·More flexibility: You can do PD at home or work, and you can set your own schedule.
·More independence: You do not need to go to a dialysis center as often as you would with hemodialysis.
·More comfort: PD is a more comfortable treatment than hemodialysis.
Who is a Good Candidate for Peritoneal Dialysis?
PD is a good option for people who:
·Are not able to go to a dialysis center three times a week
·Have a strong support system to help them with their PD treatments
·Are able to follow instructions and are willing to learn how to do PD at home
·Are not too overweight
The Peritoneal Dialysis Procedure
The PD procedure is a simple and safe procedure. It is typically done in an outpatient setting.
During the procedure, a catheter will be inserted into your abdomen. The catheter is a thin, flexible tube that will be used to infuse and drain the dialysate solution.
Once the catheter is in place, you will be taught how to exchange the dialysate solution. This is a simple process that can be done at home.
Risks and Complications of Peritoneal Dialysis
PD is a safe and effective treatment for kidney failure. However, there are some risks and complications associated with PD, including:
·Infection: The catheter is a foreign object in your body, so there is a risk of infection.
·Peritonitis: This is an inflammation of the peritoneum.
·Hernias: These are bulges in the abdominal wall.
PACE Hospitals: Your Partner in Peritoneal Dialysis
PACE Hospitals is committed to providing our patients with the highest quality PD care. We have a team of experienced nephrologists and nurses who will work with you to develop a PD treatment plan that is right for you.
We also offer a variety of support services to help you manage your PD treatment, including:
·PD training: We will teach you how to exchange the dialysate solution and how to care for your catheter.
·Nutritional counseling: We will help you make healthy food choices to support your kidney health.
·Emotional support: We will provide you with resources to help you cope with the emotional challenges of kidney disease.
If you are considering PD, please contact PACE Hospitals today to schedule a consultation. We will be happy to answer your questions and help you determine if PD is right for you.

Liver disease is a very common reason for demise after stroke, chest infections, heart disease, and cancer. Liver transfer contains replacement of the patient’s unhealthy liver by a new liver is taken either from a living donor or from a brain dead patients having heartbeats. The liver is a distinctive organ in the human body and has a special ability of redevelopment. It is seen that 70 percent of the liver is possible to remove safely without any annoying concerns because of the capacity of redevelopment. Patients of liver transfer must get life- long immune suppressive medicine these are medicines to avoid rejection of liver. An organ donor is generally discharged within 10 days and the patient within two to three week. The organ donors resume their regular activity within three to four weeks and carry on with their jobs within six weeks whereas the patients within four to six months. No special safety measures are necessary for donors after about four to six weeks and are able to lead a normal life subsequently. A liver transplant is an operating process to take away an unhealthy liver and replace it with a healthy liver from a giver. Best Liver Transplantation in India uses livers from dead donors, though a liver is also taken from a living donor. The number of people looking for new livers is much higher than the number of accessible livers, so the liver transfer is held in reserve for people who are unfavorably ill. Some people receive a liver transplant in a short span of time whereas others spend months waiting for a liver transfer. Liver dysfunction has many reasons, counting: Liver cirrhosis Intoxicating or alcoholic liver disease Nonalcoholic fatty liver illness Hemochromatosis Primary biliary cirrhosis Wilson’s disease Biliary duct atresia Cystic fibrosis Early phase liver cancer Read More: Which Type of Mattress is Best for overweight people? Remember important points opting for liver transplantation Before receiving a liver in India, foreign patients have to fulfill the following processes: The patient is not allowed to choose a donor from India. In its place, he or she has to get an allied donor from his or her specific country. If the donor is one of the patient’s close blood relatives, the authorization procedure for transplantation turns out to be faster shunning several medical difficulties accurately. The patient and donor are essential to have a similar blood group. Read More: Top Six Ways to Stay Motivated In Life Cost for the treatment of liver transplantation In India, the liver transplantation starts from USD 28,500 that is nearly 17 lakhs. Even though the average cost of liver transplant in India differs on which hospital and chief transplant doctor you select, it is more or less very reasonably priced when matched to several first-world countries. This cost normally consists of the following major expenditures: Anesthesia for surgery Laboratory assessments An expert fee of the doctor Hospital expenditures counting the fee of the supportive staff Expenditures incurred at the time of recovery. Costs of medicines and medical consumables Rehabilitation expenses and physical therapy expenses In other countries, all these exclusive expenses gather to make the total liver transplant budget much more costly. On the other hand, in India, medical visitors save big on their budgets while receiving world-class treatments from exceedingly skilled and capable doctors and surgeons. Diabetes treatment
If none of your friends, kin and kin have diabetes, then you must be an alien. Sad to say so, but that is the fact now. A staggering 77 million people in India, and above 33 million people in the USA suffer from diabetes as of now. Yes, there are millions of people globally with diabetes. The number of new cases of diabetes is only rising day in and day out. So, what it is all about?
What causes this Diabetes? Is there a way to know if you have diabetes? What are those symptoms, and how not to mess with them? Here we shed more light on those areas.
Why do you get diabetes?
Firstly, diabetes means the body's inability to regulate the blood glucose level. There are two different types of diabetes patients. When the body’s immune system malfunctions and starts to affects the beta cells in the pancreas, that retards the insulin production. This is Type 1 diabetes, while the Type 2 diabetes is due to lifestyle disorders.
Type 1
Type 1 cases are diagnosed earlier in their childhood days or the teenage. In this case, the patient's immune system itself starts to affect the pancreatic cells that are responsible for insulin production. It can be attributed to an autoimmune disorder.
Most of these type 1 diabetes individuals get it through their genetic inheritance.
Type 2
Type 2 diabetes, on the other hand, develops in adulthood.  This is also passed on from the parents to the children through genes. At one point of their lifetime, this gene is triggered to become dominant causing changes in the way the body reacts to insulin.  Improper diet, overweight, and lack of exercise, can all lead to type 2 diabetes.
So what are the symptoms that indicate diabetes?
If you see any of these symptoms then talk to the doctor.
Urinating more frequently:
If the blood sugar level is increasing, then a person can urinate excessively.
Excessive thirst:
As you pass urine more often, you have the thirst to drink more and more water.
Weight loss.
Don’t know why you lose weight? It is because the body lacks the efficiency to utilise glucose smartly, and hence energy conversion is minimal. This leads to fatigue.
Eye-sight problems:

Preventive Measure to Avoid Diabetes
Never, ever ignore your insulin medications. This leads to an unwanted spike in blood sugar levels in the body, worsening the issue.
Stick to the recommended diet. If the carbohydrate levels in the body are not controlled better, then that can lead to a blood sugar spike.
Neglecting to do workouts can result in complications because of a high blood sugar level.
Conclusion:
it is quite customary for many of us to overeat during festival occasions when the dining and wining would be lavish. Managing diabetes during festivals can be tough as we take things lighter in elated moods. This joyous mindset can often trigger people to eat whatever they want to their heart's content. Giving up the craving and sticking to the above advice ensures longevity.
