Tuba's Western Ancestors Banjo McBloom (her Great great great great great grandfather) and Lady Flute Tuba McBloom (her great great great great aunt and possibly Spongebob's great great great great great great great grandmother)
They were once a brother and sister musical duo who would preform at the krusty kantina playing the instruments they were named after. Banjo was known as "The fastest fingers in the west" due to his ability to play the banjo really fast. He also owned a ranch where he raised Sea Cows (manatees), but lost it when Dead Eye Plankton forced him to give him the farm land because he refused Dead Eye to marry his sister Flute (who also refused to marry him) for their family fortune. Thanks to SpongeBuck, Banjo was able to gain ownership of his ranch again and Flute would end up falling for him (history would end up repeating itself with their own decedents but don't tell Tuba that there is a possibility her and Spongebob are very distantly related)

Spongebob and my OC Tuba McBloom.

No one really understands why she’s head over heels for him. Especially squidward.

This is what I think the costume for Tuba (my Spongebob OC) would look like in the Spongebob Musical and the lyrics for her verse in Bikini Bottom Day.

So here’s a SpongeBob OC I made a while back ( or as a kid really) Tuba McBloom. She’s a tube sponge who definitely doesn’t have a crush on a certain square guy who is completely oblivious towards her feelings. She is a sweet girl who tries to make friends with everyone ,surprisingly she gets along well with Squidward who has a soft spot for her (although he doesn’t like to show it) despite finding her crush on SpongeBob a bit… well obnoxious.

If my OC Tuba McBloom was a real character, how do you think she’ll play out in the show. I made her to be a sort of love interest to SpongeBob (although I now know he’s supposed to be asexual since I made Tuba) but I’m just interested to know how someone else would perceive her.
hey don't worry about the asexual thing - it doesn't mean aromantic, it just means obviously the cartoon character created for kids isn't going to pursue sexual relationships on screen. so while they're not interested in exploring spongebob in a committed romantic relationship in the cartoon, it doesn't mean he wouldn't ever want to be in one :) it's fine. tuba is fine! tuba having a crush on spongebob is fine.
so i noticed the way tuba is influenced by the "counterpart love interest" archetype - characters like minnie mouse, who are designed to compliment their love interest visually and emotionally, right? so i'd say look at her traits that would balance out spongebob's by contrasting with him... and exaggerate them for comedic purposes. for example,
so like, on the fanon wiki page it says shes sweet, puts others first, a little naive, and more mature than spongebob... the first three are traits that spongebob shares, which is even mentioned on her page. so maturity or perceived maturity is the one that makes her stand out from spongebob, and the unique angle from which to tackle her interactions. actually while writing this the thought came to me and the thought is "leslie knope spongesona" so now im imagining similar jokes with her :P
i think itd be equally fun to see her try to play voice of reason (whether she would succeed or not) as it would be to see her be, similarly to leslie knope, overzealous in trying to be responsible and mature to the extent that it becomes absurd and arguably a different form of immature and childish - and how that would contrast with everyone and the shenanigans they get up to
ultimately i think its most believable and most entertaining if there are a variety of things she's more rational about than spongebob and the rest of the cast, but there are certain things (aside from spongebob himself) that bring out an irrational, absurd, immature side of her and play with the humor of it all. she's a character i can see myself enjoying a lot in a cartoon :3
