Anyway, I'll be taking over for her in case you wanted the real answer.

She had tried to fight Iran once before with Turkey and Crimea back in 1578, but had to retreat for a while to take care of matters at home. Said matters being my brother and I rebelling against her rule on us. She did end up taking large areas of land from Iran, so I guess that's a win?

And then she did it again in 1616. She asked Turkey about a cooperative military offensive against Iran, to which he accepted and attacked Iran again. I kinda feel bad for Iran...that must have been annoying at best.

She used to talk to him and visit him quite often around the 1500s and 1600s. She also asked him for help in the face of Russian expansion around the 1700s and 1800s. However, we all know what happened...

One of his military generals, Enver Pasha, tried helping us in the Basmachi Revolt against the Bolsheviks, but unfortunately died in battle in 1918. His remains stayed in Tajikistan until the late 90s, where he was brought back to Turkey.

Initially Turkey did have good relations with the USSR due to the shared ideas of revolution and the overthrowing of the monarchy, but things got cold after Turkey joined NATO.

They never really talked to each other after that...

Until we all became independent. Turkey was the first nation to recognize all of our independences, and things were going well. Until Turkey took Muhammad Solih, the Uzbek President's opposition candidate, in to stay. Uzbekistan asked for him back, but in Karimov's tenure that meant bad news...and so Turkey refused. This started the deterioration of their relationship(all of us too, if I'm being honest–she was very cold and brash during this time and just did whatever she could to achieve her goals). She had also raided a lot of his office buildings and jailed his employees on accounts of "terrorism" for having prayer mats and religious books in the offices.

After Karimov died in 2016, a new era was ushered in as Vice President Mirziyoyev took office as President in 2017. He began to thaw relationships with the rest of us, including Turkey. My sister also finally joined the Organization of Turkic States as a full member in 2019! They started talking to each other like normal again, and they even worked on a drama together about the last prince of the Khwarazmian Empire, starring a Turkish and Uzbek actor and actress as the main characters who fall in love.

Hmm. I wonder if that reminds me of something...

Turkey's politicians constantly highlight how important Uzbekistan is as a gateway to other Central Asian countries(me totally me), and she's starting to move away from trading with Russia in favor of Turkey. He also gives her a lot of military weapons, like drones, and they've begun training together recently.

So to sum it up, I think they both benefit each other a lot economically, and Turkey's also very similar culturally with the rest of us.

Their story ran from 2013 to 2017, so it's already over. I get what you mean and as far as soaps go their relationship was a definite standout. The best part was waiting for them to get together, the build up, that took about a year and it was actually very well done. Very enjoyable. Then they dated for about another year. Then yea of course, they had to break them up but they do get back together before one of the actresses leaves. They would've gotten married though, and they don't end with anyone else.

Most people just enjoy watching the first half of their story and stop a few months after they officially become a couple, and consider it a happy ending.

Oh, and I wasn't sure how widely known the show is in Germany, so I didn't want to assume. But yea, when I saw you were German I absolutely HAD to ask 😂 I definitely don't regret getting into them, soap nonsense aside.

Anton Newcombe, leader of the psych-rock band The Brian Jonestown Massacre, was one of my more unlikely acquaintances in Berlin. His recording studio was just a few blocks from my apartment, north-west of Nordbahnhof, where affluent Mitte began to meld with the predominantly Turkish, working-class neighbourhood of Wedding. I sometimes cycled there for a late afternoon tea with him.

Anton’s studio was a converted, single-storey coach house at the rear of an altbau, on a quiet street that was once the northern-most of East Berlin’s city centre, a block from the old Chausseestrasse/Reinickendorfer Strasse border checkpoint.

Set at the rear of a courtyard cluttered with bicycles, the studio itself was weird and Tardis-like but welcoming, especially in the middle of a dismal Berlin winter. The walls of the large living and dining area were blood red. Antlered skulls and a gilt-framed painting of a nativity scene framed the sky blue walls and yellow door frames of the adjacent hallway. A large, sculptural collage that suggested an American flag hung on the longest wall, alongside a commemorative plate featuring a head and shoulders profile of Pope John XXIII, and a framed portrait of Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union. There was also a large blue butterfly under glass. On a wooden trunk beneath the collage there was an ornate but tatty faux-mother-of-pearl accordion and an ugly piece of taxidermy — a stuffed weasel baring its fangs on a length of desiccated tree branch. Opposite, the narrow window ledges were like voodoo altars, filled with pot plants, wax skulls, kitschy statues, toys, African and Arabic-like busts, Polaroid instant photos and odd bits of bone, shell, and porcelain.

There were a couple of worn-out replicas of a ’60s Scandinavian-modern sofa but most visitors sit at a pine table that took up half the room.

The last time I was there, on a dull, rainy afternoon last week, the Canadian singer, Tess Parks, was putting the finishing touches on an album. Tess was at the table, sipping tea, and leafing through pages of handwritten lyrics in a notebook. With her was Joe Dilworth, a Berlin-based English photographer and bookshop proprietor, also well-known as a musician, who was waiting for the rain to stop so he could photograph Tess for the album cover. Anton, and his engineer, a large Liverpudlian woman named Andrea, fussed over a detail of a mix in the sound-proofed room next door. When Anton took a break, he chatted with Joe about instrumental effects on obscure mid-’90s recordings and fingered through the clutter on the table — scraps of notepaper, discarded biscuit wrappers (chocolate digestives), Indian bead necklaces, and coiled, unused guitar strings — to find crumpled packs of cigarettes. They were usually empty.

A couple of hours passed, during which, somehow, random strands of a four-way conversation were started, discarded and picked up again as Anton dubbed a new guitar track, Tess laid down her vocals and Joe loaded 6×6 black and white film into a vintage Rollei twin lens reflex before leading Tess out to the courtyard for her portraits.

When the rain eased, Joe and I took our leave. I risked the rush-hour traffic on nearby Chausseestrasse to take a round-about route home. The bike lane was blocked by construction work outside the foreboding 30-acre complex that is the new headquarters of the Bundesnachrichtendienst (Federal Intelligence Service). I was forced out into the road to cycle close, too close, alongside an accelerating tram. At the cobbled turn-off into Tieckstrasse, opposite the Dorotheenstadt cemetery, where Bertolt Brecht lies beside his second wife, the actress Helen Weigel, just a few feet from the philosopher, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, a too-sweet scent of shisha wafted from a gaudy Turkish bar. It hung in the damp air like cheap gauze.

He was discussed to have a dating scandal, i mean he is on the list with many others Bang*tan/Got*7 members as well and , they cant risk B*TS cuz they in the EPITOM of their career, and for Ksoo not now but after his album looong after maybe??? Dunno when exactly But not too soon. He was discussed to have a setup dating back in the years but becuz he was still a rookie in acting and didn't want to ruin Ekso image and schedule S/M didn't want to risk his debuting acting career and damage his reputation and the group projects especially with the damage of having two members dating scandals exposed to the public and one marriage and pregnancy/kid, they couldn't add more damage to the group back then, also HE (KSOO) had to go to military and he wasnt on good terms with SM since 2017 and in military rules, the idol is better to go off to the Army clean and clear without scandals, so it's very preferable that the idol goes with no dating or any other scandal to military in order to maintain his image and insure that in army he will be fully focused on serving his country and not having an affair with a girl or going through court sessions or rehab in case of bad scandals such as drugs or molestation or rape or corruption or bullying etc...

But after military it's okay to have a setup dating, It's necessary to promote his actor image, he must be involved in a relationship to promote his next projects especially if a movie or drama ends up being extremely successful they won't hesitate to promote the couple in order to promote the drama/movie, that's a well known plan all actors go for, they are asked by either their official companies or their current production company and producers to go through dating scandals with their co-actresses wether they were really dating or just set up but in both cases it will promote the drama/movie they starred in. So please expect this sooner or later. IT WILL HAPPEN.

Cuz it happened with many many actors who really dated or fake-dated their co-actresses in order to promote their dramas, some even went to the extent of marriage and they eventually get divorced, i think u may know some couples wether in the korean film industry or the western industry, this is a very common thing, that actors fake date their co-stars to promote their projects especially if it's a ROMANCE 💒 DRAMA PROJECT, ppl start shipping and the shipbase gets bigger and the Romance project gets highest views and box office tickets and highest rates etc.... So the project is successful=Cash Cash CASH 🤑💰💰💰

I can list many many set-up couples from the kdrama industry to the turkish industry and the american industry and the Cdrama/taiwanese and Thai drama industry but im so lazy probably won't do it eventually but i got names but uk me I'm always lazy. Maybe the other admin would do it for me? I dunno I'd have to beg her hahahha.

But i guess u can guess urself some kdrama setup couples and as ksoo is getting his place and rank pretty high in the kdrama industry and is in the climax of his career, he might have one to promote his "straight manly actor who gets all the co-actresses all down for him" image. They may set him up with some famous rising actresses to promote the actress and him and their project as well if they had one.

Hi! I was going through the layla x warren tag and stumbled upon your layla x warren essay (amazingly written by the way!) in which you said to check out Our Times. I was curious so I decided to check it out. I just finished it, and I am in tears! I love the movie- thank you so much for recommending it!!!

Oh my gosh! Hii!

I am so obsessed with the concept of Layla and Warren... They should have been endgame is all I’m saying (and will continue to say)! I mean come on, they have that sunshine character steals the heart of raincloud/grumpy character and it's just amazing! (But also, if you think about it, Warren is actually the one to steal her heart!)

(However, I understand that in my post I hate on Will and its unfair because that boy is literally a teenager who’s just trying his best.) I am also very obsessed with the fake dating / the whole we need to team up to do something but end up falling in love with each other plot! It’s just so good and so iconic and I cannot! And Our Times honestly does that plot so well! 

Truly Lin and Tai Yu are literally so cute? Lara Jean and Peter K. who? (jk... unless)

There were so many iconic scenes? Them with their dog? Her crying in the rain? Him risking it all (literally) to get her a gift? Just the movie is iconic shit, and I kid you not, I watch it at least once a month (because I’m apparently someone who feels the need to inflict pain on themselves EVERY month). 

When will I find myself a Tai Yu?

Also if you like Our Times, you should watch this other movie with Vivian Sung (the actress for Truly Lin) called Love The Way You Are that came out last year! It’s not as good as Our Times, but it is hella endearing and I love it! Plus the main couple is freaking cute!)

Screw it here other random tv show/movie suggestions (not that you asked):

1. Better Days (2019) 

I’m going to start with a disclaimer and say It is not a comedy or a rom-com like Sky High or Our Times, but its SO good! It also deals with some pretty heavy subject matter (bullying/suicide)... So I understand if its too heavy for you... 

But if you don’t mind the heavy subject matter, the main characters have crazy chemistry and they are honestly too much for me! I love them so much! They deserve the world... did I mention I love them? They’re dynamic is so beautiful and sad and it will definitly make you cry is all I’m saying!

But its about this teenage girl who’s being bullied and befriends/hires a local small time gangster for “protection” from her bullies.... needless to say there are sparks! ( Aditional notes: When I say this movie is good I’m not joking, its been nominted/won multiple awards... )

2. Sen Çal Kapımı (2020 - )

Okay, if you want to delve into the addicting world of Turkish dramas and are obsessed with the concept of fake dating (like I am), than this is the show for you! 

It’s a Turkish rom-com show that is currently airing on tv (as of today there are only 3 eps out)... It about the main character who’s hopes of going to Uni are shattered when she loses her scholarship because of the mishaps of wealthy business man (who she hates... obvs)! 

So, she goes to confront said man only to find herself relunctantly agreeing to be his fiance in exchange for a job... Needless to say things get out of hand very quickly!

So, you know its going to be good stuff? I mean, they “hate each other” but have to pretend to be fiances... and have crazy chemistry? It’s too good!

(additional notes on the subject of our times, the lead hero in this show has a dog and uses it to see the heroine and if that isn’t a Tai Yu move than I don’t know what is!)

3. That Thing Called Tadhana (2014)

This is one of my favourite Pinoy movies! (Though On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets might be my new fav)  Anyways its about this young woman who’s a hopeless romantic who just broke up with her bf and is doing some travelling to get over him. Cue her at the airport struggling to meet airline baggage requirements when she meets a man who comes to her aid. They decide to travel togather, and form a friendship as they attempt to med each other hearts.

It’s very cute and sweet and sad, and I love it!

4. Aśk 101 / Love 101 ( 2020 - )

So apparently I am a total ho for Turkish tv shows!

This show is so freaking cute I cannot! Its a netflix show and its so endearing and I love it! 

It’s a Turkish Teen Drama set in the 90′s about a group of teenages rebels (?) who would be expelled from their school if not for their teacher who vouches for them.

 When they realise this teacher is about to move to a different town, they know their chances of staying in school and not being expelled are non-existent. So device a plan to have he fall in love so she'll have a reason to stay in town with them.

And let me tell you! The ships in this show are so pure it literally makes me want to scream! I love Sinan and Isik +  Burcu and Kemal

 Dark (2017 - 2020)

Dark is literally like none of the concepts I described above? Purely because it's a mystery/thriller about the disappearance of two children in a small German town. It’s a very explicit and dark (pun intended) and grim show... and has some serious eerie feels!

HOWEVER!

I would actually die for Aleksander and Regina Tiedemann so jot that down!

(LOOK AT THEM!) If anyone looked at me the way Aleksander looks at Regina, I would probably die!
