Applications are invited for the post of ‘Junior Research Fellow’ in the DBT sponsored, a purely time-bound research project entitled (MicroRNA profiling and deciphering their role in HIV-driven inflammatory responses at the female genital mucosa’. This post is temporary for the project period of 2 months. Based on performance, the appointment could be extended further. Eligible candidates may also be considered for pursuing a Ph.D.

Consolidated Salary: Rs 31000/- + HRA

Essential Qualification

Post Graduate degree in Basic Science OR graduate/ post-graduate degree in the professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following:

a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Test (NET) — CSIR UGC Net including lectureship and GATE

b.The selection process through National level examinations conducted by central govt. departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, 11T, 11Sc, USER etc.

Desirable Criteria: Laboratory experience in one or more of the following:

molecular biology techniques (like RNA/DNA extraction, PCR, Bioinformatics

Tissue culture

Job Responsibilities

Cervical sample processing and carrying out laboratory assays including (but not limited to) RNA extraction, Real-time PCR for microRNA analysis, RNA Sequencing & analysis, pathway prediction and validation.

Maintenance of cell lines and setting up of in vitro and ex vivo assays, carrying out assays like Dual [uciferase assay, flow cytometry etc,

Data analysis & interpretation

Keeping appropriate laboratory records of the laboratory assays.

Assist PI in project management

How to apply:

Eligible candidates should apply with their CV along with a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.300/-drawn in favor of Director at National AIDS Research Institute, 73,G Block, MIDC, Bhosari, P.B. No.1895, Pune-411 026 on or before July, 23 2020.

SC/ST/PH and women candidates are exempted from payment of the application fees. Candidates belonging to OBC should enclose the OBC Non—Creamy/ Creamy Layer certificate for appointment under the Government of India (from the competent authority empowered to issue such certificate) at the time of the Interview. Age and experience are relaxable in deserving candidates.

This post is to be filled for the defined project period only. Government Servants should apply through proper channel or enclose ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the present office/employer along with the application.

Director, NARI, reserves the right to shortlist the candidates to be interviewed. Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or bringing political or other influence with regards to the selection shall be considered as a disqualification.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on merit and will be informed via email.

Candidates shortlisted for interview should appear in person with originals of degree certificates (one set of xerox), and date of birth proof along with any other relevant information (like copies of publications, awards, recommendations etc.).

No traveling or any other allowances is admissible for attending the interview.

Preference will be given to the candidates whoever having CSIR/UGC/NET, previous desirable laboratory experience similar research field, basic knowledge of polymers chemistry or experience.
