T. Zegras - Can He Sing?
Tumblr media
✄————————————
Trevor Zegras x Fem!reader
Requested✨
Word Count: 2.1k
Warning(s): None?
—————————————
“We’re ready when you are.”
“I’m good. Trev?”
“Uh yeah… I think so.”
“You’ll be fine.”
“Filming.”
“Hello! I’m Macy Grey and today we’re here with the singer-songwriter who brought you the famous album Silly Love Songs. And her lover Trevor Zegras from the Anaheim Ducks. On behalf of myself and the studio I want to thank you both for coming out today.”
“Of course! I love getting in touch with interviewers. Especially from locally known studios.”
“When I was informed you were in town for the All Stars, I wasn’t sure if you’d have the time, but I’m so happy you were able to fit us into your schedule.”
“Absolutely. I should be thanking you for letting Trevor come though. I know your forte isn’t exactly hockey players.”
Large studio interviews were a waste of time. It was something I always resented, and something that even morally never agreed with me. Large studios only wanted to get news first to make the most money. Smaller places offered a more personal environment and a more comfortable atmosphere. It was the only reason why I had invited Trevor along. I didn’t want him involved too much in the social half of my career, mostly because the industry and jealous fans could be cruel to artists’ lovers. But I reasoned with myself that one interview wouldn’t hurt. Especially with someone like Macy Grey. She was always so kind and open to friends, family, or significant others of musicians.
“To kick us off, I’d love to talk more on the exact reason why you’re in town. Everyone is aware of your successes, but let’s fill the crowd in on Trevor’s.”
“Where to start?” I glanced at Trevor, who let out that awkward wheezy laugh. He was uncharacteristically quiet, but this was a new thing for him. Usually hockey interviews happened when there were loads of other people around. These interviews were far more private. “He was voted in as one of the players this year to play in the All Stars, and he’s competing in a few skills competitions as well. He won a gold medal with Team USA one year before the NHL, he attended Boston University before being drafted.. what else?” I hoped to get him to join in, but Trevor looked fairly comfortable letting me do all the talking. I could fix that though.
“Trevor was voted most likely to cry in a haunted house this year for team superlatives.” I smirked as soon as I heard him gasp.
“Yeah, that’s enough of that,” Trevor cut in. “I’m not a baby, write that down.” He pointed toward Macy, as if the woman had some sort of notepad in her hands. “I’m just jumpy. It’s normal.” His blue eyes shifted toward me with a playful glare, Macy laughed softly at the exchange.
“Well, Trevor. It seems like you’re a pretty successful person yourself. Would you mind me asking how you two met?”
“Oh I love this story.”
“Me too,” Trevor chimed in, crossing his legs one over the other, and leaning forward like a kid during story time.
“So, I was in New York for a performance in MSG, and the Ducks were in town too for a game” I smiled, leaning back in my chair and trying to get comfortable. “My best friend had joined me for the eastern leg of the tour at the time, so we decided to go out for drinks downtown. My favorite bar in the city is 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar. So my best friend, Shelby and I, we just got two glasses of champagne and settled at a high table to watch the sunset. We’re minding our own business.. for the most part, but there’s this group of guys that are just carrying on. They’re loud and obnoxious and they look like your stereotypical frat guys. At one point Shelby had enough, and she got up to go yell at them.” I peeked at Trevor, his smile growing wider. He knew very well that this was the part where he came in. “So Shelby’s yelling at that group of guys, and I finally got up to go wrangle her. And just as I’m approaching.. I kinda stopped and asked myself if it was a good idea. Shelby doesn’t like to be told to stop much. Then I hear this voice right next to me. Scared the shit out of me. And the voice goes, “She yours?” I laughed softly, as did Macy.
“I apologized profusely for her behavior, and-“
“But I told her I wasn’t the one getting yelled at. So it didn’t bother me.” Trevor cut in with a toothy grin. “Then I bought her another glass of champagne and the rest is history.”
“Don’t forget about the part where you booked your hotel room for an extra night to see me perform.” I teased, “And bribed security into getting backstage to see me and ask for my number.”
“Those details don’t make me sound as cool though,” Trevor whined.
“That’s a really sweet story.” Macy chimed in.
“Thank you.”
“So he asked for your number, but who asked who out?”
“To simplify a long story, Trevor was beating around the bush too much for a little while, so one night be brought me flowers before an away game and I told him when he got back, we were going to go on our first date as an official couple.” Macy and I laughed in unison.
“And were there any arguments to that demand?”
“Not from me, no.” Trevor giggled. “I was more than happy to put a label on it.”
“And how long have you been together?”
“Two years. Three at the end of All Star Week.”
“How adorable! You guys must be a strong couple then.”
“Oh one hundred percent.” Trevor smiled as he spoke.
“Now, the question on everyone’s minds is.. can he sing?”
“Yes!”
“Absolutely not.” I corrected Trevor ruthlessly. “He thinks he can.. but he can’t.” I chuckled, glancing at the sandy blonde to see his look of pure betrayal.
“Does that mean we won’t be hearing any duets?”
“I wouldn’t say that,” I answered slyly, earning a surprised look from Macy. “Trev is featured on the album.. speaking. His features are mostly just backtracks.”
“I know this may be asking a lot but- is there any chance we could get a sneak peek at that?”
“For you Macy? I would love to.” I watched the girl’s eyes light up. I pulled my phone from my pocket and opened my files, scrolling through for a moment before I stood and dragged my chair closer to the woman’s.
“This song is called Spellbound. It was actually the first song I produced for this new album. I took some of my inspiration from the song Witchy Woman by the Eagles. The reason being, this was written during halloween, and that is just one of my favorite spooky songs. For this piece, I wanted it to feel supernaturally devoted to Trevor. Like.. kind of like.. like a love where one person idolizes the other, but not necessarily in an obsessive or toxic way. I think the lyrics and the tune teetering on the edge of insanity really adds to the supernatural edge and it also makes this song unique to Trevor. I can’t say I’ll ever produce another song like this, nor do I think anyone else will. Classic rock isn’t exactly my genre, nor do I plan for it to be. So this track really sticks out. Which is the main reason why I chose to give this song its own cover art. And I’ll be releasing it as the first single.” It was a lot of information to offer, but I was very passionate about the things I dedicated to Trevor. Especially this song.
Most of my music got old after constantly rerecording lyrics and harmonies, or sorting out instruments. But this song never did. I loved it through and through.
“This sounds amazing and so.. intricate. How long did it take in total from thinking of the idea to finalizing the song?”
“A full month maybe? I hadn’t been exactly itching to make a new album, so I knew if I was going to, my basis for it was going to have to be amazing. And I think I did a fairly good job.” I paused. “I hope so..”
“I’m sure it’s amazing. Let’s hear it!”
I wasted no time in playing the track, a steel guitar and stylized keyboard opening the musical scene. I was a person who loved using clips of recordings in my music, whether it was from everyday life, or a random video in my camera roll, or even if I took the recording of the sound specifically for a song. It was one of my many musical signatures, but the one I was most known for. Atop the smooth music, came the faded clinging of pans, and Trevor’s soft voice. “I can’t wait for you to be home.. Fuck I miss you so much.” It had been a voicemail, but my sound producers managed to give it a more authentic feel, as if someone was in the room with him recording instead of it being spoken into a phone mic. The music itself was fairly calm and collected. Certain instruments helped it sound taboo and old, but the lyrics were the driving factor that made it sound almost insane. A part of me worried my audience wouldn’t take to the song well, but Macy seemed enthralled from the start of the track.
I eyed her expressions carefully through every second, smiling to myself when she seemed particularly intrigued by a section. And I had to admit, it boosted my ego to hear Trevor not too far off in his own chair humming the song to himself. I could live with myself if everyone hated the song, as long as he loved it.
Near the bridge, Trevor’s voice returned, “I’m gonna keep you forever.” This section had been specifically recorded in the studio, and despite my endless attempts to get him to take it seriously, he had giggled at the end of every take. Eventually I settled on knowing I wouldn’t have it the exact way I wanted it, and we used the take with the least amount of amusement in his voice. At the end of the day when we put it all together, his laugh only ended up adding to the crazy feel of the song.
Near the end of the track, Macy finally spoke up.
“This is the weirdest and most mentally satisfying song I have ever heard.”
I breathed a sigh of relief.
“Really?”
“You’re so right, it sounds nothing like what you usually produce, but it still has your essence in it. You can tell it’s your songwriting. I think this song is going to be crazy successful. And I also think having Trevor on it is going to make people go nuts” I would be lying if I said I hadn’t thought of that. I knew my fans would love to see Trevor featured.
“Thank you so much. I’m so excited to release the song.” I admitted with a slight grin.
“I’m just excited that I’ll be able to listen to it without having to say “babe can you sing me that song” every time I wanna hear it.” Trevor teased, causing my cheeks to flush as our eyes met.
“You don’t like her singing to you?” Macy joked.
“God no. I love it when she sings. I just hate how much I get made fun of when I ask her to do it.” The three of us laughed.
“Sounds to me like you have a pretty devoted girlfriend.”
“She did write a weirdly obsessive song about me.” Trevor agreed pridefully. “The first of many, right babe?” His question made my brow rise in surprise.
“We’ll see, Ziggy.”
“That’s a good answer. Can’t give too much away just yet.” My eyes trailed back to Macy. Our time was drawing to a close. “I hate to cut us short but I think we’re reaching our limit. And I know you have your own tight schedule today.” She paused. “I really wanna thank you again for making enough time to come out. It means a lot.”
“Mace, I think I speak for the both of us when I say we had so much fun being here. You always conduct the best interviews.” The woman blushed.
“We can come back anytime.” Trevor added, catching me off guard.
“I’ll have to take you up on that offer the next time you’re in town.” Macy grinned. “I hope you both enjoy the All Stars, and rock the red carpet of course.”
“Thank you so much. We definitely hope to.”
“I’ll be watching on tv.”

As country music’s unapologetic ambassador, Blake Shelton has spent two decades pouring out boot-stomping bangers, heartbreak anthems and endearing odes to love gone wrong and right.  “My history has been constantly evolving from one album to the next,” Shelton explains. “I always try to push it just far enough to keep myself and my fans interested, but not so far that they don’t hear anything on the record that brings them right back home to what they expect from me.”
Shelton takes that same spirit to work on everything he does including NBC’s four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series “The Voice” where he has coached  eight champions. The Voice recently kicked-off its 22nd season.
Shelton has a championship career of his own and is still setting the mark in country music. His new single “No Body” is fast climbing the charts now. Haha I just listened to a pod with people who were in the middle of it as it happened. This episode was about how Sweden's national selection for Eurovision was transformed from 10 songs to 32 songs and the format was revamped. Some hilarious things:
Producers and songwriters who'd gotten used to always be selected for the competition had a harsh wake up call. It wasn't only the format that changed but also the type of music
It'd been impossible to release a collection with Mello songs. The record labels counteracted each other and fought over which label should release the collection. The people who produced Mello got tired of the bickering and simply added in the Mello rules and regulations, that if a song participated in the competition it were to be on a song collection record
When the Mello format later was transferred to Eurovision, the big 5 didn't give a damn about broadcasting the two qualification rounds. They only cared about the final. Same thing was done there. It was added to the Eurovision rules and regulations all Eurovision competitions had to be broadcasted in all countries. Important for the smaller countries that don't make a final so often
Problems you have to solve can be country A can't sit next to country B at the head of delegations in a final. They have to be placed on different rows. Or just to find someone who can remove a bike rack outside an arena because of fire safety
They also spoke about the dream to arrange World Song Contest. The first step was to get the Americans onboard the train. Don't know if it'd been a done deal with American Song Contest when this pod was recorded. But the guy who'd worked with to make the new Mello format work lived in Usa then
Tbh I don't want a world song contest eurovision is its own chaotic thing

NEW BOOK “WRITING SONGS IN THE STREAMING AGE” REVEALS HOW MUSIC STREAMING IS DRAMATICALLY CHANGING HOW SONGS ARE WRITTEN TODAY
Tumblr media
Music streaming is having a profound impact on songs and songwriting….
Songwriters who want to get more plays on Spotify and other streaming platforms need to rethink their approach to songwriting and song structure to meet the needs of streaming audiences. Spoiled-for-choice streaming listeners are increasingly likely to ‘click and skip’ to the next track if a song doesn’t grab them in the first 20 seconds.
That’s the key message of a new book titled: Writing Songs in the Streaming Age – 40 Mistakes to Avoid If You Want to Get More Streams. The book aims to help new songwriters to create more streaming-friendly songs.
“Streaming has not only revolutionised the way people consume music, it is also transforming the way songs are being written and recorded,” says the book’s author Brian Oliver, an experienced music publisher. “Streaming is changing the whole methodology of songwriting. Successful streaming now requires a different type of song.”
Writing Songs in the Streaming Age takes a close look at how the global dominance of music streaming is having a far-reaching impact on songwriting and the structure of songs. It reveals how songs that connect in the streaming world are no longer the same as songs that work on traditional media, such as radio.
“Songwriters are facing a period of great change,” Oliver warns. “To succeed in the highly competitive streaming marketplace, creators need to adapt to the new songwriting conventions that are emerging in this algorithm-driven musical environment.”
Oliver says song structures that have been at the heart of hit songs for over 60 years are now being replaced by a song form that has one overriding objective: Keep streaming audiences listening for at least the first 30 seconds—otherwise a play won’t count as a stream…. the song may be downgraded on the streaming service’s database….and nobody gets paid.
With more songs now being designed to please the streaming companies’ algorithms, Writing Songs in the Streaming Age aims to help provide a better understanding of the changing building blocks of song structure in the streaming age. It’s an era in which the verse has gained a new importance because ‘click and skip’ streaming listeners don’t always stick around for the chorus.
The book examines the essential elements that are consistently found in the construction, melodies and lyrics of the biggest streaming hits. Crucially, it highlights the most common errors made when these key components are built into a song. In doing so, it aims to help new and aspiring songwriters avoid such mistakes in their own songs.
The book provides 40 insightful tips, such as: treating a verse more like a chorus, not making a song too long for streaming, choosing the right tempo for streaming listeners, and genre-blending songs to get onto influential streaming playlists. There’s also a comprehensive Checklist designed to help new songwriters overcome the most frequent mistakes that are made when trying to write streaming-friendly songs.
Writing Songs in the Streaming Age – 40 Mistakes to Avoid If You Want to Get More Streams is now available from Amazon as a paperback and eBook in all territories, and also from leading eBook retailers such as Apple Books, Kobo and Barnes & Noble.

Nya 10-spårs albumet “Songs in the Key of Collaboration” från Martin Høybye är ett soundtrack till en lång resa av interkulturellt samskapande och forskning. Albumet släpps 3 maj via Songrise Produktion. “Prompted by a serious water crisis in Cape Town, I set out to explore songwriting as a response to anthropogenic environmental impact, broadly speaking. The aim was to both explore how songwriting might shed light on lived experience, and to develop songwriting as a research practice, by making songwriting accessible to others and collaboratively share stories in this way”, säger Martin Høybye ”Songs in the Key of Collaboration" är en ny Songrise-produktion som släpps 3 maj 2024 genom Songcrafter Music. Albumet producerades av Dennis Ahlgren, och är en del av Martin Høybyes konst- och praktikbaserade doktorsavhandling ”Songs in the Key of Collaboration - Engaging with Anthropocene moments through personal and collaborative songwriting," (Aarhus University, 2023). “These crises will continue to impact the planet for generations to come. Droughts, floods, sea level rise, wild weather events, and resulting changes to sense of place and identity will follow. We may find ourselves grieving the loss of certain animals and plants, the loss of stability and familiarity. We may indeed experience a feeling described by environmental philosopher Glenn Albrecht as solastalgia – when we feel homesick yet are still at home,” säger Martin Høybye Låtskrivandet fungerar som ett svar på den miljöpåverkan som han kallar "antropocenens överväldigande".
“Working with a team of artists and practitioners, I will work to spread this approach more broadly. To inspire others to share their practice, share their art. A song is a drop in a very big pond, but I believe in ripple effects and taking action by sharing ourselves, our experience, and knowledge. That may sound radical, but I believe inaction and non-sharing is actually more radical,” säger Martin Martin Høybye har släppt sju fullängdsalbum, senast "The Hourglass Sessions" från 2019. Tidigare släppta singlar är  “End of the World”, “Where the Water Was”, “Freedom Is a State of Mind,” och “We Can Change.” Diverse lovord om Martin Høybye:  'Årets låtskrivare' – SongIsland  Hederspris – Danish Songwriters Guild  Danish Music Award-nominerad (Årets låtskrivare)  Danish Music Award-nominerad (Årets album)  Vinnare av Unison Songwriter's Competition  Flera finalistplaceringar och hedersomnämnanden, (USA Songwriting Tävling, Internationell  låtskrivartävling, The Great American Song Contest, We are Listening).  För mer information om Martin Høybye https://xn--martinhybye-mgb.dk/co-write-with-martin/ För frågor kontakta: Anette Ståhl – Enmusa Music tel: 0707 180120 [email protected]

Ships Have Sailed "Find My Way"
Tumblr media
Los Angeles based alt-rock band, Ships Have Sailed released their first single of the new year titled ‘Find My Way’ on January 21st, 2024. Ships Have Sailed is the brainchild of vocalist and guitarist Will Carpenter, generally con”gured as a duo with drummer, Art Andranikyan. The music they create together is uplifting and buoyant. The lyrics reveal a thoughtful and conscientious perspective. Over the years the sound has evolved into sincere indie rock with an unabashed pop structure. Carpenter describes the band’s moniker not as a pessimistic reference to the renowned idiom “that ship has sailed,” but instead a fresh, positive perspective on the unexpected outcomes of unforeseen circumstances. They’ve recorded and released a diverse collection of albums, EPs, and singles that consistently evoke an unrestrained cathartic desire to be heard and enjoyed. Either through crescendoing ballads or indie rock alacrity, their music always captures a uniform sense of sanguine sensibility. By combining an ardent work ethic with an impressive range, the band has maintained a well-earned buzz that has led to international tours, impressive industry showcases, and awards honoring their independence. During the height of the global pandemic, the band released their album ‘Ages’, most of which was co-produced by Dan Sadin (M, Joy Oladokun). A testament to the band’s progressive journey and as a follow up, the duo took maXers into their own hands they decided to host a high-quality live virtual album concert for their close friends and fans which later resulted in a live album being born. The band released a slew of singles this past year, adding to their already copious collection. Among those, was the sought after single ‘Silence’. The band had the immense honor of having the track featured on the Season 19 “nale of Grey’s Anatomy. Later in the year, they released their rock-heavy, foot-stomping anthem ‘Get Loud’. A song that not only captured the attention of fans and followers across the globe, but to their joyous surprise, won the grand prize in the USA Songwriting Competition. Their latest single, ‘Find My Way’ presents as a slightly upbeat, quirky tune, but what’s behind it contains a depth that might surprise their fans. A song uniquely crafted from someone else’s story entirely. One that took Carpenter on an incredible journey of his own. Carpenter chronicles just how the song came to be, “It all started when a friend asked if I would help her write a song based on a very personal story she wanted to tell. I hadn’t done anything like this before, but was intrigued. The story was a decades long love story. She and her husband married fairly young and went through the typical hurdles of marriage and parenthood, working hard to support their family, but realized they needed something big to look forward to that would get them through the tough times.” Carpenter continues, “This dream became a meticulously planned road trip across America (their home was in the U.K.) which they almost decided NOT to make a reality for one reason or another. However, when my friend’s mother passed away, they decided it was time to live their dream, so they quit both their jobs and headed across the Atlantic. It was epic, everything they had dreamed of and more. Sadly, my friend lost her husband suddenly a very short time after their return. Despite this, the song is not a sad one. Its a note of gratitude that these memories were able to be made before my friend’s profound loss. A love song to her husband and to the music that got her through this tragic transition. As with almost everything I write, there are layers, and above all, a silver lining. For me, it became an important reminder to make the memories while I can and to live my best life to the degree I’m able.” As the song continued to develop, Carpenter realized that, although this wasn’t his story, it somehow felt like it belonged under the Ships Have Sailed moniker. “My friend’s story spoke to me at a time when I feel like I needed a gentle reminder about what is most important in life, and because of that both the story and the song dug their roots deeper and deeper into me. It was unlike anything I’d ever experienced.” Additional Artist/Song Information: Artist Name: Ships Have Sailed Song Title: Find My Way Publishing: Ships Have Sailed Publishing Publishing Affiliation: ASCAP Album Title: Find My Way Record Label: Ships Have Sailed Record Label: Ships Have Sailed Will Carpenter 617-650-0799 [email protected] Radio Promotion: Loggins Promotion Paul Loggins 310-325-2800 Contact LP Publicity/PR: EEK Management Erin Kintzer 515-771-7417 [email protected] Manager: EEK Management Erin Kintzer 515-771-7417 [email protected] Booking Agent: EEK Management Erin Kintzer 515-771-7417 [email protected] Read the full article

Protest Song Wins Top Honors at USA Songwriting Competition
Tumblr media
Will Carpenter and Abby Posner (both pictured) from Los Angeles won the Overall Grand Prize of the 2023 USA Songwriting Competition with their protest song “Get Loud”. Will is part of a Rock group “Ships Have Sailed”. “We truly can’t believe we won. It means the world that the song’s message resonated with you and the judges, and we are truly grateful. This song was written as a protest song for anyone that has had their rights stripped away. We want it to be a universal anthem for those that feel like they have to continue to push for positive changes, for human rights, and for equality. We are so grateful that Get Loud was selected as the Grand Prize winner, we are both going to continue to make art that reflects the times”, said Abby Posner. “What an incredible honor to be recognized by the USA Songwriting Competition in this way. I have personally been entering the competition for years now, and have won honorable mention and even won the second overall prize one year, but to win the overall grand prize is just amazing. This song was born from a place that was real, raw, and frustrated – our only objective as we were creating was to tell our story and voice our frustration in a way that might connect with others and get them thinking about positive change, and to have it recognized in such a profound way is truly above and beyond anything we could have imagined. Thank you!”, Read the full article

MSB Unveils ‘Borrowed Time’ feat. Latest Single“Shout Out Loud”
Tumblr media
From landing early sync placements on hit shows like Sons of Anarchy and Law and Order, to winning the 2022 USA Songwriting Competition (Jazz), to working with heavy hitters like Grammy Award winning Steve Jordan (Stevie Nicks, Bob Dylan) and David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Lana Del Rey), Brooklyn based singer-songwriter MSB (Micheal Sackler-Berner) has lived a life beyond what any artist could hope for – and yet somehow this is still just the beginning.
MSB’s new album, Borrowed Time, was co-written and produced with long-time friend and collaborator Nick Movshon (Amy Winehouse, The Black Keys, Bruno Mars). Deep into the pandemic, the LP was a lifeline for the two creators as they locked themselves up in a classic New York brownstone studio and channeled their fears and uncertainties of the times. The result is a record that reflects on finding meaning and beauty amidst chaos.
“Shout Out Loud” was built when MSB was meant to be practicing piano fundamentals. It’s a reminder that stuff under the rug has a way of building up and then breaking you down from the inside if it isn’t handled honestly, loudly, and regularly.

Dangler by Colleen Charles is available now!
FREE with Kindle Unlimited
My future is planned, and it doesn't include a relationship. The last one destroyed me. I was in love...but she was in love with my money. So, I'm done with that. Instead, I'm throwing my energy into mentoring the younger players on the team and planning for the end of my NHL career. Since I only speak in three word sentences, my next move is going to shock everyone. Once I hang my skates up, I want to be a full-time country singer/songwriter. No one knows that I write music and perform, but I'm cocky enough to know it’ll happen. I’ve got the talent. I’ve got the drive. Nothing is going to stand in my way. Until a freak accident on the ice causes enough damage that I lose my voice. I don't know if I'll be able to talk....let alone sing, again. It's in physical therapy where I meet her. Kingsley. She's the best therapist around and if anyone can get me singing again, it's her. But the more time I spend with her, the more I have to remind myself of my no-relationships rule. And when I enter a songwriting contest, it turns out, Kingsley has entered too. Now crushes don’t matter. She's my competition. And I have a new rule: Don’t get close to Kingsley and my heart won’t get broken.

Janco Dreyer's new single is the perfect song to get any party started
Tumblr media
JANCO DREYER'S NEW SINGLE IS THE PERFECT SONG TO GET ANY PARTY STARTED Janco Dreyer's life revolves around music, and there is nothing that this 23-year-old singer and songwriter from Bloemfontein would rather be doing. His passion for music is evident in his latest single, BOSOPSKOP, written by Hugo Ludik and Nick Jordaan.
Tumblr media
"It's about a group of youngsters who set up camp and have a party," he explains. "One of the young men falls in love with the girl of his dreams, and even though his friends warn him against her, he feels that she is worth the risk of heartbreak." This catchy tune was produced by Brendan Campbell and Hugo Ludik, and the artist believes that it will appeal to audiences of all ages. Janco has been singing since he was eleven and after making the decision to give up rugby for music, singing has become his main focus. Over the years, Janco has participated in various initiatives, including Jacobus Silwer's All the Way from Bloem songwriting project. He has performed at major festivals, competed in various talent competitions, and has even had the opportunity to represent his country in the USA. His first single, Ek Sal Dit Onthou, was released in March 2022. Although it is vastly different from the carefree nature of his latest release, he considers it one of the biggest highlights of his career so far. "Last year, I released my first single. It was a very personal ballad, and it was a privilege to share it with listeners. But I think the public prefers something more upbeat like BOSOPSKOP." He is currently studying music technology at COPA and working hard to expand his arsenal of original music. When he is not on stage, he's an introvert who thinks deeply about life and draws inspiration from the events and people around him when writing songs. "I am usually quite shy and reserved, but on stage, I turn into a performer," he shares. Locally he admires and enjoys Nicholis Louw's pop-rock approach to music, while international stars like Queen, Elvis Presley, and Ed Sheeran have all had a significant influence on his personal music style. Although he is still struggling to come to terms with his father's death, he remains positive and grateful for each opportunity that comes his way and is determined to make a success of his career. This talented musician has poured his heart and soul into BOSOPSKOP, and the result is something truly special. With a fun and infectious melody, and a voice that demands attention, Janco is well ons his way to making a name for himself in the music industry. "Music is my entire life, and my biggest dream is to sing and perform as much as possible," he concludes. The song is now available on digital streaming platforms. Martin Høybye släpper singeln ”Where The Water Was”
”Where The Water Was” uppmanar till uppvaknande kring omsorg och sammanhang:
“We as songwriters feel that if we can retrain ourselves to take care of water, in all its forms, we may simultaneously learn to address the challenges of environmental crises in constructive ways. Therefore “water” is used both as a physical, politcal, and metaphorical reference throughout the lyric,” säger låtskrivarna Casper Ace och Martin Høybye.
Här bjöd de in allmänheten att medverka i en musikvideo för låten ”Where The Water Was".
Hederspris – Danish Songwriters Guild
Danish Music Award-nominerad (Årets låtskrivare)
Danish Music Award-nominerad (Årets album)
Vinnare av Unison Songwriter's Competition
Flera finalistplaceringar och hedersomnämnanden, (USA Songwriting
Tävling, Internationell låtskrivartävling, The Great American
Song Contest, We are Listening). För mer information om Martin Høybye https://xn--martinhybye-mgb.dk/co-write-with-martin/ För frågor kontakta: Anette Ståhl – Enmusa Music tel: 0707 180120 [email protected]
