Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, also known as National Unity Day, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence at MBS International School School on 31 October 2023 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the ‘Iron Man of India’, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event aimed to instill a sense of national unity and integrity among the students.

The day commenced with students from classes VI to XII taking the National Unity Pledge in the school assembly. This solemn oath emphasised the importance of unity, peace, and harmony, highlighting the principles that Sardar Patel stood for.

A documentary on the life and achievements of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was shown to the students of classes VI & VII in the school auditorium. Following the documentary screening, a quiz competition was also organized for them to test their knowledge about Sardar Patel and his contributions to the nation.

Students of Class VIII participated in an extempore competition on the theme Unity'. Students enthusiastically expressed their thoughts on the importance of unity in the diverse and pluralistic society of India.

On this solemn occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, we gather here to pay homage and express our deepest gratitude to the brave soldiers who fearlessly fought and made the ultimate sacrifice for our Motherland during the Kargil War in 1999.

Today, as we commemorate the victory of 'Operation Vijay', we remember the indomitable spirit and unwavering courage of our soldiers who stood strong in the face of adversity, defending our nation's honor and territorial integrity.

To honor their memory, the students of Shree Satya Sai Vidyalaya have come together with heartfelt performances - a Skit depicting the valor of our soldiers, a PPT that narrates the inspiring tales of heroism, a Quiz that tests our knowledge about this historic chapter, and Song and Dance that convey our emotions of pride and gratitude.

It is heartening to see around 4000 students participating in this program, as it reflects the collective respect and admiration we hold for those who selflessly served our country.

Okay, I think I understand the cards better

Interpretation:

I think Card 1 tells me traits that enticed the couple to the relationship/each other. You most likely saw Gojo as this really charming, funny and fearless guy (or any other characteristics stated above). Or he may see you that way. Since the two of you liked the vibe the other was giving off, attraction formed.

So with Card 2, I think by being in this relationship one of you will go through a self-evaluation period. Personally, I think this self-evaluation is a good thing as it can give you a clearer idea of what needs to be changed. Basically how I see this happening is person 1 will point out person 2's negative trait. I think it's important to note the way person 1 told their s/o could have come off a little bit too harsh, but I think that's bound to happen when you're telling the truth. But then person 2 will look back and be like oh shoot I didn't think it was that bad. Eventually, they decide to do something about it. And based on Card 1a and Card 2a I think they will succeed at becoming a better person and will be happy with their choices.

With Card 3 and Card 3a it's straightforward. With Card 3, I see marriage, a happy family life, stability and security. Card 3a is honestly one of the best cards to get for love readings. The feelings between this couple extend beyond mere infatuation. There is an intense attraction and passion as well as romance and a deep connection and mutual understanding. Basically, this couple will have a spiritual, emotional, mental and physical connection most couples dream of.

I'm gonna be frank, I'm not 100% about Card 4 and Card 4a, but it's between these two options. First, one of you is a little bit possessive so this causes a dispute between the couple. Second, one of you is petty AF, like they will bring up issues from years ago, however, it will kinda bite them in the ass later. But whether it is pettiness or possessiveness, this couple will have to approach this issue similar to a courtroom. When dealing with disputes you will have to be honest and be able to use your words properly to suede or change your s/o opinion

Regarding Card 5 and Card 5a, I can't help but sense that this couple would like to see more of what the world has to offer. So I think this couple would like to travel around the world or something. In the end, I think the two of you would feel really fulfilled with this relationship as it has provided you with everything you have ever wanted.

Conclusion:

One of you was really attracted to the other's charming, funny and fearless traits. From there infatuation between the two blossomed. As i do for every step, I started with a mind map of all the potential competitor types that would be in competition with my product. From this i was able to go online and search these types of items that are based around the periodic table.

When looking at this app, I screenshot every screen after tapping something. The images below show the step by step of how this game flows during user use. I circles the buttons and main clickable elements on each page as research for positioning and styling for my own app. Overall I liked this app and found it similar to my own but I plan to make mine unique with the rewards cards and a more exciting colour scheme approach.

THE BLOOM'S TAXONOMY PERIODIC TABLE OF ACTIVITIES FOR INSPIRED LEARNING

I found this an interesting website to look at as it was created around the design of the periodic table in a fun and different way. The colours drew in my attention and there was even a downloadable copy at the bottom of the website. It features 6 different groups of "elements" that reveal fun and challenging activities corresponding to some of those Bloom's Taxonomy verbs. From this I was able to gain inspiration on what worked as design features and what didn’t.

Sortify

Sortify was an online game that could have worked well as an app also. The game itself however I found quite confusing to understand in terms of what it wanted me to do as it offered too many options within the one game time so this is something I can keep in mind when designing my own. I need to keep the concept of my game simple and to the point so that my target audience can enjoy and learn at the same time. I liked the colours for this game and the illustrations made a nice concept against the original periodic table.

I liked the colour code approach to this design. This interactive online periodic table had similar links to what I wanted to include in my own design as clicking an element reveals a page with further facts and information on that element. On variation I need to consider is simpler content for my target audience.

The overall concept of this game again relates to the type of game I plan on designing. However I found although this game was fun and challenging, the design features of the game didn’t look like they’d been given a lot of thought. The type and colours were bland and I lost interest pretty quickly. This is another reason to give great consideration when it comes to styling my product and designing a brand.

Although this app appears to be for mobile phones, I was able to gain inspiration from the style of buttons used and the use of colour to make the content presentable and exciting.

General Research

Rule of thumb

Hardware technologies or even its software development methodology can change. Meanwhile, a human will still have the same five fingers including the thumb. This is a simple yet crucial reason which makes the thumb zone an important factor of mobile UX design. Thus, the principles of so-called “thumb rule” help to prevent both bad usability and users’ joints ‘dislocation’.

The term applies to most of both Mobile UX design methodologies and design for touch theory. There are three main zones for a thumb: natural, stretch and hard.

It’s also worth mentioning that thumb/fingers zones might vary due to the use of both hands:

Fingers vs Touch Screens

Plenty of usability tests and experiments were conducted in order to examine different design element positions, buttons and finger motions. Most surveys have shown that people not only carry out most of the actions on the touchscreen with their thumb but also tend to hold the gadget in the same hand. The trick of an effective mobile UX design is to fit all the relevant details into the thumb natural zone. This is the main way of improving designer solutions quality and providing a favourable user experience. Again, due to these tests, the SMART-task has become the fundamental rule for modern developers.

Navigation difficulties

Today’s variety of mobile UX navigation templates requires a special “thumb zone” guide creation. A crucial thing is to pay attention to the user’s motions naturalness. Long lists of links, mixed menus, and website integration are the decisive points of using the following navigation triggers:

Full-screen overlay mode lets to fit all the links into a “thumb zone” with the rest of the content.

The option to fit a few links’ items is to use a fixed sticky menu. It can be placed at the top or bottom of the main screen.

Sometimes an app has to provide a lot of items in order to be compatible with the web version of the service. This can be solved by combining a sticky menu for most relevant links and a full-screen one for the rest. Facebook mobile app interacts this way.

Touch Controls

Use UI elements that are designed for touch gestures to make interaction with your app feel easy and natural.

Hit Targets

Create controls that measure at least 44 points x 44 points so they can be accurately tapped with a finger.

Text Size

Text should be at least 11 points so it’s legible at a typical viewing distance without zooming.

Contrast

Make sure there is ample contrast between the font colour and the background so text is legible.

Spacing

Don’t let text overlap. Improve legibility by increasing line height or letter spacing.

Organization

Create an easy-to-read layout that puts controls close to the content they modify.

Icons

Icons that are well designed exhibit a methodical and deliberate approach to the three major attributes that make up any icon design: form, aesthetic unity and recognition. When designing a new icon set, consider each of these attributes in an iterative approach, starting with the general (form) and proceeding to the specific (recognisability). Even if you’re creating a single icon, these three attributes are still implied and can be extrapolated from a single design.

No doubt, more than three attributes make up effective icon design, but the three elaborated below are a good place to start. For the sake of relative brevity, we have focused on what we consider to be the three main attributes.

Form is the underlying structure of an icon, or how it is made. If you ignore the details of an icon and draw a line around the major shapes, do they form a square, a circle, a horizontal or vertical rectangle, a triangle or a more organic shape? The primary geometric shapes — circle, square and triangle — create a visually stable foundation for icon design.

Just as one would start a drawing by sketching the largest, simplest shapes and then refining towards greater and greater detail, one would start an icon from the simplest shapes and then add more detail — but only as much detail as is needed to communicate the concept being represented, be it an object, idea or action.
