Jay couldn’t help himself when he saw some of your stuff lying around the apartment.

from your chapstick to polaroids of yourself, he couldn’t resist just taking them for himself. he has no regrets about it, except for the fact he didn’t hide them better.

he knew johnny had a bad habit of barging in suddenly, without cause and without warning if the door was unlocked. Jay has a bad habit of leaving the door unlocked.

you can probably see where this is going.

the one time Jay decided to look at his little collection hidden in his night stand was the one day Johnny decided to come barging in, He was asking for an item long forgotten the moment he saw the polaroid of you in a bikini laying on Jay’s nightstand.

“where the fuck did ya get this?” Johnny asks angrily as he watches his nerdy roommate stutter and stumble over his words.

“i-it’s, um, that’s, that’s not mine” he manages to squeak out pushing up his glasses “i don’t know how it, um, got there”

“ya don’t know? is that right?” he asks the man, pulling him by his shirt, “well then why don’t ya go return it like a good samaritan” johnny says pushing him as jay feels his heart leap up into his throat.

what would you think of him? would you ask for a dorm change? snitch on him to a ra? ruin the little reputation he did have?

countless scenarios run through his head as johnny gets him closer and closer to the door

“Fine! i stole ‘em!” jay blurts, his face turning a bright red “i saw it lyin’ around and took it” he admits shamefully

“see it wasn’t too hard bein’ honest, now was it jay?” johnny asks him in a voice similar to how an adult would talk to a child in trouble “what else of hers did ya take?”

jay shamefully takes the man to his nightstand and empties it out, the man watches in awe as he sees multiple items that you had been looking for around the house.

it’s everything from a few chapsticks to old notes you wrote, but the thing that catches his eye is something a little sweeter.

“i’ll make a deal with ya, if you snag a few a these” he holds up a lacy pair of your panties “for me”

jay nods in response

“n they gotta be freshly worn, no givin’ me old pairs”

“what’s in it for me?” jay asks as johnny slaps him on the back, causing him to flinch

“you’ll find out soon enough buddy”

“Don’t worry we’re all mad here”.

To be quite honest with you, I don’t have a bloody clue what I'm doing or why I’m doing this; I just thought it might help? I don’t know. 

I’m 25, I reside in a tiny village in the North of England with my parents (don’t even start), I graduated two years ago from a course that I loved with a degree that I have a real ‘love hate’ relationship with and I feel like I’ve got no where since.

While on the over crowded and surprise, surprise, delayed, 5:42pm Manchester Victoria train home from work today, I thought I could possibly benefit from an outlet for my overthinking and nonsensical thoughts. Relieve my poor, fried brain from the stress. Not that I have a particularly stressful job or life, It’s more the wider picture which usually ends up in my panicking about how little I’ve achieved since graduating from my BA Hons in Textile Design two years ago. All I seem to spend my scarce spare time doing is apply for jobs; re writing my CV trying to make the same block of information sound more interesting every time,  or reordering pieces of work in my portfolio to make it look more impressive.

About 3 weeks ago it hit me that maybe I’m just not that great. I always assumed I’d end up a fabulously successful designer, working in a couture embroidery house, surrounded with a fantastical array of beads and sequins. Oh how gullible I was. I graduated with a 2:1 and my tutor had high hopes for me, but maybe, I just wasn’t destined to get that far. The only people I know from my course that have got anywhere are gals from privileged families, who’s fathers pay the rent for their little flat in Brixton, residing just a hop, skip and a jump from the incredibly Instagramable design studio they’ve been interning in for the last year, unpaid, something I’ll probably never be able to afford to do which seems incredibly unfair. But anyway, thats a rant for another day.

I’d always seen myself in a bright, bubbly, optimistic light. I’d always been the one that was there for everyone, to offer a glowing smile or a warm hug when their mood was low. However it wasn’t until I turned 25 that I’d realised no-one had ever quite been there for me in the same way and this hit me hard. Who were my true friends? Did I even have any close friends? I’d always had a few groups of friends, from school, college, uni etc but never really a close knit group of friends I could confide in with my deepest darkest problems. Maybe that is what this blog is to me. Somewhere to vent about my day and somewhere to moan about how unfair life is. We’ll see where it goes.

It’s been years since I dropped out of med and got a degree in biology and geology. Luckily, my boy John Henslow secured me a spot on the British Navy Mapping expedition. ✌🏻 Dad despised the idea at first but I not only convinced him to let me go, but I even convinced him to pay for my passage! Millennials are slaves to job market

The spring semester will start in a couple of weeks and the summer will be right around the corner in March, all I can think about is how I need to get on with applying for those internships in my field before its too late. By too late I mean (I graduate in less than a year and have not done anything as MA candidate in my field). 

My reasoning for not applying to these "jobs" yet is pretty rational: they are unpaid 95% of time, require you to be in the office 5 days a week 9-5pm, during the summer months, again unpaid with no travel stipend, and in the end, your left not having much work experience because you were doing busy work (stuffing envelopes or checking the guest list for some event being thrown at the Non-profit). 

I did many of these sorts of internships with big time NGOs when I was in undergrad and I know the drill, my bank account is empty by the the time the summer is over, wasted buying three train tickets everyday to work for a "prestigious non-profit.” Thus, I'm sick of grad professors telling me that the only way for me to have a paid job out of grad school is to work unpaid for 2 years of my life. I think our professors have very much forgotten that living standards are some of the highest here in NYC and that some of us are just getting by and do not receive any financial help from our parents. 

Why is it that today's millennial's, arguably the most efficient, technology adept, college educated, and young/healthy workforce need to figuratively and literally be a slave to the job market?

I love them all really, but i think Flareon is my favorite! so fluffy and good.

24. Opinion on mega evolution?

I kinda like it but idk, a lot of the designs to me just aren’t good XD And all my faves are ignored. give me mega arcanine, mega farfetchd, mega dunsparce, something ;o; and i dont like how its mostly done for stronger pokemon. like mega absol and mawile are great for helping pokemon that actually needed it. we didnt need two stronger charizards xDD

28. Stupidest nickname ever given to a pokemon?

I’ll never forget my Golett, UnpaidIntern. (ive probably had much worse but my memory sucks xD)

29. What was the first shiny you ever caught?

I’m a young artist fully supporting myself financially since I’m 18, without government help or rich parents. I don’t come from a family that goes to museums or galleries, I have no uncle working in the creative field. I graduated from @glasgowschoolart this June, together with my fiancé @p_anczok. We dreamed big of opportunities waiting for us after graduation. All we got was offers for unpaid internships, even though we both have experience. I wanted to work in the art industry, in a gallery or for an artist I appreciate but I can’t afford it, so I’m working for myself. @p_anczok applied to many amazing interior and architecture studios around the world. Some of the studios in Copenhagen “hire” 80 interns. Unpaid. And they still have to make a selection of all the applications coming every day. @p_anczok is now happy and working in a great place in Warsaw ☀️ And me? After so many years in photography I’m not angry anymore that someone can make an exhibition because their parents will pay, I’m really happy inside that I can make it from the money I earned myself, working hard but working with the camera. (Yes I never had an exhibition that the gallery paid for but that’s another issue in the creative world). I just wish everyone would have the same chances to get an experience.
