Hey, do the viewers know about "that whole situation"?

Nope!

Unless you mean those who actually know them personally. Some of them do watch at times.

Otherwise no, the Turtle thing is explained as "Turtles are our families lucky animals, though the luck can vary."

It's also an unintended security feature incase something fails, and the camera shows their real selves. Not that Donnie doesn't have multiple ways to prevent that from happening.

There was also a throw away line about getting realistic costumes for potential events in IRL, but really some fans believe they're 'Scalies'.

How much does the average Vturtles viewer know?

Like how much have they revealed?

They only know as much as the Turtles let on. They try to throw people off with the P.O. Box, and a VPN Server in Brooklyn, but there are some who just have tons of conspiracy theories based on a few 'Lore Drops'.

Like there are hints that the veiwers kind of connected,

Like Donnie mentioning a High School Tech Club who would have had some trouble, aka The Purple Dragons. Veiwers would have to track down the legal filing for Kendra and Donnies patent that someone tried to steal, but it's also vauge enough to take only the most dedicated to track down.

Again the P.O. Box, where they send merch orders from, and collect fan mail, but search them for trackers. And even then if someone stalked the place for the Turtles to arrive, they have an in with a Yokai worker there, and Leo just portals into the back.

The info they give about Splinter is also purposefully vauge to make it seem like Splinter might have just worked in the same studio where Lou Jitsu filmed stuff, but at the same point they almost call Lou Jitsu, Dad/Gramps (Shelldon/River).

They mention that Raph is in a Wrestling League, and Mikey works at a Restaurant (Run of the Mill), but don't say the names of the League or Restaurant. But some try to track down Wrestling Leagues with the same names as Raphs coworkers, and places Mikey talks about, like were they discovered a Dinosaur Special meal.

They try to explain away some things, but can't always cover it. Like Donnie Hissing when he goes to attack Leo for scaring them, Raphs growl/bellow, various turtle noises they make. They try to claim a custom voice filter at times, but others are harder to explain. Some veiwers believe they have a pet they don't mention, like a snake, or blame Sunny the Cat who is mentioned by the turtles.

But a rare few veiwers do actually know them, like Leo's patients at his Clinic, who are both regular humans who kinda signed an NDA, and Mutants/Yokai. Leo's Clinic is not an actual stationary place, it's a modified subway train on a semi abandoned train line, so no one can really pin down where it is.

And last but not least (for now), Genius Built, and The Caffeinated Turtle, Donnies start up companies, that he's mentioned that veiwers can look up, but not find much about where they're based, or who works for them. So it's a somewhat dead end for some, but others are persistent.

I'm still working on everything, and not everything is fully planned out, so some interpretation is actually welcome.

Well Donnie just has multiple redundancy saftey features that will cut the feed to the cameras. Like someone trying to hack the stream to switch out which camera is broadcasting.

Think like what happened in that horror game Parasocial where the main character is a Vtuber, and someone stalking her hacks the camera feed to show her instead of the model.

Only the hacker would have to go against Donnies many programs, firewalls, and on a slight last ditch Shelldon and River are also last defense against an attack.

So on the Highly unlikely chance someone gets past everything else, the veiwers would just be seeing the Turtle(s) who's streaming, and be slightly confused on if they did or didn't get the actual live feed of the one playing. Before the stream is cut, and Donnie hunts them down. (And maybe Recruit them if he's feeling very very very forgiving).

That is correct, the chat is under the impression that the brothers really lean into the turtle thing.

Mikey: We must agree to Run of the Mill in it's own teir, I work there, amazing Pizza, but we would all be braised.

Donnie: Very much agree, Señor Hueso would be a bit annoyed to have his fine establishment compared to some of these excuses for Pizzeria.

This was kinda planned to be posted before the Donnie Japan Trip post, but then I accidentally hit post instead of edit.

No one may have asked, but the copies of VTurtles! Shelldon and River who were visiting the TMNT AU Competition space, are currently just floating around in a void space between the different AU Gatherings. With River riding of Shelldons back with her fan and a Mystic Bag of Holding from their Dad. It kinda resembles a bunch of bubbles that show a brief view of what's happening.

A portal can't really be opened to bring them back to their original AU for Mystic BS reasons, but they can still send data back to VTurtles! Donnie, who then looks over the data and asks if they can get close to, or enter any of the other AU Gatherings.

They reply back that they can get close, but not really enter any yet, but relay they will look for openings into other worlds.

They will not question how Donnie was able to send them a Mystic Bag of Holding that has equipment to keep in good shape, and least set up a pop up booth with Holoscreens, speakers, cameras and a photobooth set up with props and costumes, for some reason.

They note when scanning some of the bubbles/AU Gatherings they list [Entrance Closed on Date], or [Event not Started]. Some give them an option to view a [Event Over] bubble like a VOD.

They just decide to drift around and bounce off the bubbles that won't let them enter.
