Important message for people who want to watch DaiRugger XV but can't find it on YouTube anymore. Which to a lot of people looks like the result of Toei being dicks again.
As it turns out, Bandai Spirits did not remove them from their channel. Episodes themselves have been unlisted since 2020 or so. But they used to have a public playlist for it so that people could still watch it. That playlist is now gone, which is why people couldn't find the episodes.
But with the power of the Wayback Machine I managed to grab links for each of the uploads and saved them to my playlist that I made. Unlisted, for now, just in case.
So, yeah, here's the playlist:
The only issue is that they still did not add subs for the last upload. Problematic. Not for me, though, because I have no issue with piracy.
Holy crow! A third chibi in one day?! What sorcery is this!?
Anyway, I wanted to draw another chibi and was debating between Krik and Cinda. I decided on Cinda because A, she's beautiful, and B, I felt I should change pace and colour the land team uniform.
It's a win-win situation.
Anyway! I hope y'all enjoy this one!
Commissions are available on my Ko-fi.
Until next time!
Hey, I just want to let you know that a kind uploader ripped all of Dairugger XV (including those elusive last 3 DVDs) and put the isos on Internet Archive! Couldn't help but think of you when I found them. I have played them through VLC, they don't ~appear~ to have anything bad on them, and the quality is great! Hopefully the link is still good. https://archive.org/details/dairugger-disc-1/DAIRUGGER_DISC_1.ISO
Hi there, thank you!
I already have my own, but this is helpful for anyone who wanted to download it.
There are also torrents on nyaa dot si with the episodes in MKV and MP4 formats.
For anyone just now tuning in, Armored Fleet Dairugger XV (aka the source anime for Vehicle Voltron) had an English subbed DVD release in 3 volumes. Vol 2 and 3 of the DVD set are very rare and difficult to find (let alone at a price that's appropriate for old DVDs).
Perhaps one day Dairugger will be licensed for streaming or for release as a Blu-ray set, but until then, hoist the flags mateys.
Starting over with a new cast of characters based on Vehicle Voltron/Armored Fleet Dairugger XV would benefit Dreamworks if they ever thought of continuing the Voltron brand. There’d still be the backstory established by “Legendary Defender” but a big enough time skip that could sidestep the... baggage certain fans had with Season Eight (which was good actually).
Basically, it’d focus on the Galaxy Alliance’s extensive efforts in loosening the Galra’s grip on the universe and colonizing potential new worlds as human settlements. The S.S. Explorer is the first of many colony ship, deriving heavy inspiration from the I.G.F. Atlas minus the robot form.
A faction known as the Drule rises up as radicals trying to cling to the old ways. The Vehicle Force’s Voltron would be named in honor of the original defender of the universe. Maybe end on a “Fleet of Doom” type of finale with the old guard returning (Shiro piloting Blue Lion in a real full circle moment).
It could also bring in a different showrunner and creative team since, well, I wouldn’t wish what happened before even on my worst enemies unless a few were feeling ballsy. It would still keep Studio Mir since, well, if there’s one thing Voltron fans and former fans agree on, it’s that the studio does damn good work.
Look, we can’t change the past but we can look back at the discourse of yore to build a better tomorrow. Make no mistake, many will fall into the same traps again and again but it’d not about making an overnight change. It’s about effort. Every little bit counts.

Summary:
its the anniversary of the moon landing and I remembered Chapter Two of this story collection.
The first colony humanity ever managed to settle on the moon vanished without a trace. Years later, Shiro felt just as lost when an accident ripped his own dreams of going to the moon away from him. Now he can only teach others to dream the way he used to. But you don't love like that and not be noticed. Sometimes - Fate is much quieter than expected when it arrives.
Today is the 41-year anniversary of Armored Fleet DaiRugger XV!
Armored Fleet DaiRugger XV is a mecha anime series aired in Japan from 1982 to 1983. It tells a story about a space exploration team meeting an advanced alien race and struggling to communicate with them as the conflict gradually turns into a full scale war.
This series is mostly known in its Americanized version, which is called Vehicle Voltron. This version made several changes, starting from names to heavy censorship. But if there's one thing it did right, it's that I wouldn't know about DaiRugger if it wasn't for Vehicle Voltron. Credit where it's due.
The series has a large cast of characters, but there are only a few that the anime really focuses on. That being Aki Manabu – Rugger Team leader, Ise Shinji – Rugger Team captain and eventually the Rugger Guard captain and Socrat Teles – enemy commander responsible for space exploration.
Although dense to watch, DaiRugger is an insanely good anime if you're willing to look past the naming conventions and some very dated concepts. But I'm not going to sell it as a masterpiece that you absolutely need to watch. It has its problems (some are made out bigger than they actually are by some people I see online) and you may not like it. But it will forever hold a special place in my heart for its themes and messages.
If you're in for some tragic anti-war mecha anime about the beauty of space and nature as well as the horrors of war, this anime might just be what you need!
Available for free on Bandai Spirit's YouTube channel:
I could be completely wrong but! In the ending cutscenes for each character in Voltron: Legendary Defender we see in Pidge’s that the Holt Family helps to establish a new team (Vehicle Voltron cameo) and we see team members. Aside from Chip being a robot, it appears that Krik who is standing next to Chip, is depicted and drawn as female. Which is actually really neat imo.
Full disclosure I have very little idea as to how this whole tumblr community thing works, but if anyone wants to join just like this post or reblog or comment and I'll send an invite to get you in
