#Velkaria Irashal

It's been forever since I've drawn my gal Velkaria, so I decided to fix that! <3 I'm still incredibly fond of her design, and she was a lot of fun to play as, even if that campaign didn't end up working out in the long term.

Velkaria!!! I love this delightful gal; for all she looks serious, she’s more of a goof who loves living in the moment and wears her heart on her sleeve.

I’ve been more caught up in playing video games than drawing lately, but I have been doodling a bit! Mostly Zeal of course, because she’s the most fun, but also a bit of Velkaria as well to practice some inking.

Also, bonus character sheet drawing of Zeal, since we leveled and now I have to draw a new little picture in that box since I’ve got a new character sheet.

Velkaria made a new friend in the last session of the Tomb of Annihilation game! She found a chicken and immediately began to talk to it. It’s.... Not smart. And might be dead. It fell into a spike pit at the end of the session. But Kari loves it, even if the rest of the gang wants to eat it.

Velkaria got an armor upgrade that’s basically magical moss and leaves, so the first thing I did after that session was redesigning her outfit to include it! I really didn’t want to change her silhouette much at all, so it was a bit of a challenge to incorporate it in a fun way. I’m not sure if I’m 100% satisfied with it, but oh well!

I also wanted to include the fun tidbit of her tattoos glowing when she casts her spells. Depending on the spell, different areas of tattoos will glow (mostly the ones on her arms for general spell attacks, but also her legs for misty step and other movement based spells.)

I redid that one Inktober drawing of Velkaria digitally to make a nice, high quality print of it and I’m plenty pleased with how it came out again. Also, I’ve been doodling Kari being very goofy as of late so it was fun drawing her in a more serious, serene light once more!

Velkaria Irashal - Tiefling Coastal Druid

I’m starting to think I’m in too many campaigns sometimes, considering how many D&D characters I have. >.> But I love tieflings so regrets are for nerds!

Velkaria’s my tiefling druid for the once-a-month campaign where we’re running through Tomb of Annihilation! She’s made a series of questionable choices that include rigging a dinosaur race, injuring a merchant prince’s son in said race, trying to drown an attacking pirate captain with the Control Water cantrip, and turning into a velociraptor and biting said pirate’s face when that didn’t work. We haven’t even left the city yet, either, so who even knows what will happen in the jungle itself!

Inktober Day 8: Velkaria Irashal, tiefling druid and local well-intentioned troublemaker!

She tries very hard to come off as wise, but she’s a bit of a scatterbrain and ends up finding trouble more often than not.

(I’m gonna answer specifically for Wren, Vrinne, Velkaria, and Zealous!

8: Who is the most physically affectionate? 

Probably Vrinne, or Velkaria. Vrinne gives hugs and lets herself be carried to show support, and receiving affection reminds her of being with her family. Kari likes to grab onto people and hug their arms when she’s excited or scared, and just generally lean against her friends to show she cares.

18: What positions does your OC(s) sleep in? 

Vrinne curls up into a ball like a cat, Velkaria sprawls out and takes up like an entire full sized bed by herself, Wren rests on her side and tends to toss about, and Zeal sleeps on her stomach, usually with her arms wrapped around her pillow.

19: Does your OC(s) have any physical ticks/tells?

Vrinne wears all of her emotions on her face, so every expression is her tell. When Zeal’s embarassed, she’ll run her right hand through her hair and avert her eyes. Velkaria’s ears flush when she lies and she’ll start to laugh nervously if she’s worried. And Wren starts rambling if she’s anxious, and will scratch at her scars!

Thank you!! That is my sweet and somewhat chaotic tiefling druid, Velkaria Irashal! I haven’t really posted anything about her yet, but currently her experiences include helping to rig a dinosaur race in Chult, making flower crowns with druidcraft for said dinosaur race, and using the Control Water cantrip to try and drown an attacking pirate captain.
