Being an ally to trans people isn’t just respecting their names and pronouns, it’s respecting them if they aren’t out to their parents, respecting the honorifics they like, it’s still seeing them as their preferred gender if they can’t medically transition or choose not to. It’s not calling them their preferred name and pronouns when they’re around and then completely misgendering them when they aren’t around. It’s not mocking them if they don’t physically look like their preferred gender. It’s doing everything you can to make sure they feel loved within their identity.
