𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐘𝐀 𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐀
— Dwarkadhish x Dwarakeshwari

🦚 SYNOPSIS : When Krishna can't see his priya frowning in sadness, so, he comes up with a way to cheer her up.
🦚 KAMAL'S NOTE : This is just a work of fiction and nothing to do with the actual events. I just wanted to write something for Maa Rukmini and Krishna since there is not much. Hopefully I didn't cross the line. This fic made me hate the word 'hand' to be honest 😮💨. The devider is from this post.
Kamalnayan = Lotus like eyes, Sri = Mahalakshmi/Rukmini, Nupur = Anklet, Aradhya = Adored one, Arya = Honorable one.
Sweet wind blew past the raven locks, forcing them to dance on the rhythm with it. Dwarakeshwari, Rukmini Maharani, sat on the edge of the majestic water fountain. Her hand playing with the rippling cold water. The full moon shone brightly in the night's sky. The reflection of the moon in the water made Rukmini appear glowing.
Everything happened so suddenly. One day, she was writing a letter to Kanha to come and save her and the next she is now married to the said Manohari. Few days ago she came to Dwarka with her husband. People here are loving and welcoming to her but Rukmini could not help but miss her father and brothers.
Since day one she was their beloved princess but everything changed when Rukmi decided to prioritise his political friends and hate towards Krishna over her. Going against Rukmini, he rejected Krishna when he asked for her hand in marriage and then he fixed her marriage to that demon, Shishupal. Still, Rukmini loved her brother and wanted the best for them.
"Can't sleep?"
A sweet voice broke the silence of the night. Her hand stopped it's action. Rukmini heard quite footsteps advancing towards her as her heartbeat sped up. Even after loving him for years and being married to hi, Rukmini couldn't help but blush whenever he was around her.
Krishna walked up to Rukmini and sat right behind her. Their eyes met through the waters reflection but Rukmini averted her eyes away as a feeling of shyness took over, making Krishna chuckle. His wife, his Sri, can look into others eyes and put them in their places but she can't even look her Shyam. Oh! How much he yearns to see those beautiful kamalnayan.
"Could not sleep?" Krishna asked again, this time even more softer.
Rukmini nodded her head, giving him a quiet 'hum'. Krishna dipped his hand in water. Taking her hand in his, Krishna swayed them, feeling water pass through their fingers.
"So, what is bothering my beloved?"
Rukmini remained silent for a moment before speaking, "I was thinking about my people back home."
"Is that so?" Krishna wishpered, "Do you regret marrying me and coming he—"
Before he could finish, Rukmini had turned around and slammed her hand over his mouth, "What are you saying Madhav? I can never."
Rukmini felt his lips curling up into a smile against her palm. Krishna held her hand by his both hands and brought them down. But instead of letting go, Krishna clutches it even firmer.
"You are finally looking at me."
Rukmini gasped at the realisation and all the heat raised up her cheeks. As she quickly looked, Krishna took her chin between two fingers and made her face him again. Rukmini kept her head down.
Hay Bhagwan! My shy wife. Madhav thought to himself.
"Would you like to go somewhere......With me?" Krishna asked.
Rukmini nodded her head without any hesitation. Krishna stood up and held out a hand for her, "Sri?"
Rukmini placed her hand in and got up. Then Krishna started leading them out of the golden palace. They walked for at least 60 vighaṭi but neither of them seemed to mind. By day Krishna is mostly busy with work and Rukmini also has to play the mother goddess she is.
They don't get much time to spend together other than the night. They walked through the furnished road, hand in hand, under the starry night. At the end of the city was a forest. Krishna led her into it.
Moonlight failed to enter through the cover of tall tree branches. As the forest went darker, Rukmini, unknowingly, brought herself closer to Krishna. Though Krishna saw that, he didn't say anything because seeing how shy his Sri is, she might pull away.
"How far is the place, Madhav?" Rukmini asked when the road seemed to be endless. They couldn't stay out long. As the king and queen of Dwarka, work was already on their shoulders.
"Just a little more Sri." Krishna whispered, giving her hand a firm squeeze.
They walked a little more when Krishna suddenly stopped. Rukmini looked at him confused. Krishna released her hand and held up the jewelled flute. As Rukmini held the flute with care, Krishna went behind her and palmed over her eyes.
"Ma-Madhav?"
"Just a little more to go." Krishna whispered in her ear.
Rukmini trusted and started forwarding. Losing the ability to see, her other senses became stronger. The forest was silent. The sweet sound of their nupur chiming echoed through the silent woodland accompanied by occasional hooting of owls.
Krishna came to an abrupt stop, "Ready?"
Rukmini nodded impatiently, "Yes, Madhav."
Krishna slowly removed his hands. A bright light blinded Rukmini for a moment. She blinked her eyes to adjust to the light and when she saw scenery before her all she could do was gasp in surprise.
The place was glowing compared to the rest of the dark forest. Fireflies dancing with each other. Beautiful flowers are blooming all over the place. Birds like peacocks, parrots, owls, flying like it's broad daylight. Then there is deers, red panda, horses and many more playing like friends.
"Madhav, what place is this? This looks like it is Vaikuntha."
"This place is Divya aranya. Do you like it?"
"This place is heavenly. Why didn't you bring me here earlier?" Rukmini breathed out, failing to look away.
Krishna sat on the ground with his hack leaning on a big tree. While Rukmini admired the magical forest, Krishna admired his ārādhya. Her eyes sparkled like gold, taking in everything. When she was done she came and sat beside Madhav.
"How did this come here?" Rukmini felt like a child, seeing the world for the first time even though she herself was Devi Mahalakshmi.
"That…….is a story for another time. Just know that there was this man who created this place because he couldn't see his priya frowning in sadness." Mischievousness swimmed in his eyes.
Rukmini smiled with a knowing look. She really had completely forgotten about her previous sadness with her brother. Which gave Krishna relief. The last thing he wanted was for her to be sad. That too in his presence.
Rukmini felt a different sense of boldness as she dropped her head on his shoulder. When the sun goes up they will be pulled into the same work routine. So, Rukmini wanted to savour these moments as much as possible.
"Can we stay here a little longer?" Rukmini asked softly and he replied back, "As long as you want."
Rukmini's eyes fell on the flute in her hand, the divine flute that everyone praises.
"Arya, you have never played your flute for me, have you?"
Krishna laughed, "Every rag, every sur, every dhun that I play, is for you, my Sri. If not you, then I have no reason to even exist."
He sure is a ladies' man. Rukmini thought as her cheeks became red.
Rukmini gave him his flute back, "Play something for me, won't you, Arya?"
"Anything for you, Sri."
Krishna took the flute, placing his lips on it, he started playing the most madhur dhun she had ever heard. The aranya became more joyful, birds danced with the melody, animals became hypnotised with how enchanting it was.
And Darkeswari drifted into the dreamland with her head resting on her beloved's shoulder and hearing the madhur dhun.

No one can annoy me more than people who hate on Shree Ram but call themselves Krishna Bhakt or vice versa. Or compare these two to prove one lesser than the other.
They're the same person for god's sake.
If you think they would disagree with each other's actions then sorry to break it to you, you're just being stupid and don't understand anything about any of them.
Same goes for the people comparing Maa Laxmi, Sita, Radha and Rukmini.
THEY'RE THE SAME PERSON.

Radha, the sun drips gold across her skin, in her eyes, a deep pool of mystery. as the wind carries whispers of him, Krishna, woven in the rustle of leaves, in the call of the peacocks, in the hush before dusk, in her blissful self. She is the stillness in the storm, the yearning that knows no bounds, Her heart beats in rhythms only she can hear, a melody of love and longing, unanswered yet full, like the monsoon clouds filled with rain, waiting to fall, waiting to kiss the earth with surrender. She is not just a lover, not just a name carried on songs. She is the pause between breaths, the question wrapped in silence, a soul with an untold story. The world sees her devotion, but there is a quiet rebellion in her love— a love that dares to exist, beyond words, beyond promises. In her silence, the world hears her love, in her waiting, the universe finds its balance. she waits, not for return, not for assurance, but for the moment when the river and sky will merge and she will know she was always enough.

As wife of Krishna she is Rukmini and Satyabhama. The incarnations of Lakshmi are many, O lord of birds (Garuda) and there is no difference among them. The forms of Laksmi, O bird, are inferior to Vishnu who possesses enumerable distinctions.
The Garuda Purana extols the Eternal Goddess Lakshmi as the inseparable consort of the Lord, a divine presence entwined with the very essence of creation, sustenance, and dissolution. The sacred text reveals her as an awakened and liberated soul, whose only refuge is the feet of her beloved Lord. She is Prakriti—the primal energy—manifesting the universe through the harmonious interplay of the three gunas: sattva (purity), rajas (activity), and tamas (inertia). Through tamas, she consumes the world, bringing it to its destined rest.
As the consort of the great manifestations of Vishnu, her divine forms shine with unparalleled brilliance. With Vasudeva, she becomes caged Māyā, weaving the illusion of the cosmos. With Sankarshana, she is Jaya, embodying victory and strength. With Aniruddha, she is Śānta, the serene. With Pradyumna, she is Kṛti, the epitome of virtuous deeds. As the consort of Lord Vishnu himself, she embodies the essence of sattva as Lakshmi, the resplendent goddess of fortune and prosperity.
Her manifestations transcend time and space, taking on myriad forms to align with the cosmic dance. As Durga, she commands the tamas guna with fierce power; as Kanyaka, she emerges as Krishna’s sister and as the goddess of the earth under the embrace of rajas guna. She becomes Annapurna, the nourishing deity of the Vedas, and Dakshina, the auspicious one beside Yajna Varaha. With Rama, she is the gentle yet indomitable Sita, the daughter of Videha, and with Narayana, she is Lakshmi, the unborn and eternal.
Rukmini and Satyabhama, the beloved consorts of Lord Krishna, are her radiant incarnations. The Garuda Purana emphasizes that the countless forms of Lakshmi, though innumerable and dazzling, are but reflections of Vishnu’s infinite and unparalleled majesty. In every form and every age, she remains the eternal essence of devotion, the creator and sustainer of the worlds, ever inseparable from her divine Lord.

Garuḍapurāṇa (गरुडपुराण).—One of the eighteen Mahāpurāṇas. This is believed to be a narration to Garuḍa by Mahāviṣṇu. There are eight thousand ślokas in it. There is an opinion that only the Tārkṣyakalpa is of Viṣṇu. The theme of the Purāṇa is the birth of Garuḍa from Brahmāṇḍa. If this Purāṇa is given as a gift it should be given along with the image of a swan in gold. The Padma Purana categorizes the Garuda Purana—along with the Bhagavata Purana, the Vishnu Purana and itself—as a sattva Purana (a Purana that represents goodness and purity).

What hindu gods/deities are lgbt (I'm sorry if this is rude or ignorant I just wish to learn as I've heard some are)
Dw it's neither rude nor ignorant. Now before I start I do wanna say that almost all the queerness we see in Hindu mythology is highly subtextual most of the time, which is like pretty obvious cuz these were the ancient times. So this might lead to a varied number of interpretations, and I can only offer the same. But most of them are pretty convincingly queer, so let's get into it cuz why tf not. (This is gonna be a loooooong post so buckle up)
Vishnu
This fella is probably the most pan-coded deity in the entire pantheon. Extremely comfortable with both his masculine and feminine side, Vishnu can sometimes be considered one of the peak genderfluid icons out there. His avatar, Krishna, despite being referred to as the Parampurush (in other words the manliest man in the entire universe), his physical appearance (which is what is considered to be a very feminine body for a man today, i.e., slender and soft) breaks the stereotype of what masculine man should look like. There are paintings of him and Radha where I've stared for like a hot minute trying to figure out which one is Radha (mostly in grayscale cuz otherwise their complexions are a dead giveaway) and yet, he slays it like a badass.
Then we also have Mohini, the goddess of beauty probably the best seductress out there, and the only female avatar of Vishnu. Through her having a union (yk what they mean by that) with Shiva (AHEM subtext amirit), Vishnu gave birth to Ayyappa, and wouldja look at dat he has two dads, which was actually prophesized. Mohini in one of the versions of Mahabharata (not the original one) ALSO slept with Iravan (Arjun's son) the night before he was gonna offer himself as a sacrifice for the Kurukshetra war. Reason was that Iravan had a wish to get married and spend the night with his wife before dying, and wishing his wife would mourn for him after his death. So Krishna felt bad for him, turned himself into Mohini and married him. The next day she held her husband's body and mourned for him like any wife would. We can also go back to the time where he sported (make of that word what you will) with Arjuni (female version of Arjun) as well as the female version of Narad (for a year in the latter's case).
In short, we can see how chill Krishna is with his fluidity with sexuality and gender, so much so that it's hard to put a label on him sometimes, which is fine. But yes interpreting him as queer wouldn't necessarily be a preposterous claim after all.
Shiva
Tbh Shiva is also pretty queer-coded, given his union with Mohini (and yes he specifically ASKED Vishnu to turn into her and hence he KNEW it was his best friend after all), and him turning into a woman to join Krishna's leela that one time, which also denotes that he's pretty confident in his gender fluidity as well, to some extent. He also has a sort of female avatar, who's actually very underrated. I think it's called Shivani. Also no one can deny the tension between Shiva and Vishnu let's be real here. They even have a ship name- Harihar, PLUS that "Vishnu is in the heart of Shiva and Shiva is in the heart of Vishnu" line. Btw this was a joke, but now you know why they're one of the popular ships of Hindu mythology. I personally have very neutral stance to the kind of bond they share, whether you call it platonic or something else.
(Note that I personally do not consider Ardhanarishwar and Vaikunthakamalaja as any genderfluid thingy because I just see them as literal fusions of the two couples, but yes many consider these two fused versions of Parvati-Shiva and Lakshmi-Narayan respectively to be gender-nonconforming, or non-binary of some sort.)
Lakshmi
Why did I add her here? Because I have a feeling she might be bi, given the fact that her husband is also technically her wife, considering we take Mohini into account, who I'm pretty sure she loves just as much as she loves Vishnu. But again, that's just my take on it.
Agni
Now he's one of the more popular queer-coded Hindu gods, specifically known for his implied poly-esque relationship with his wife Svaha and Soma (the wind god). Now many sites on Google have claimed Soma to be his husband, but I am yet to find a scriptural evidence for that claim, so I suggest you to take their words with a grain of salt. But what IS true is that these two guys do share a pretty profound bond. There was also this one instance where Soma went to a mountain and Agni followed him. Then both of them at the top of that mountain, 'became one' (what does that mean? not sure but it sure as hell sounded romantic. anyways). Also Soma is considered the "seed" and Agni the "progenitor" hence releasing the "seed". Now again what does that mean? Idk but that's sus as hell for sure.
Plus, Agni is also very well-known to be the (oral) receptor of Shiva's (and sometimes Soma's but not sure about the second one) semen, which he then flung into Ganga cuz it was too hot to bear for him, and that's how Kartikeya/Murugan/Skanda (Shiva and Parvati's son and a God of war) was born. So yeah.
Mitra-Varuna
These two.... are another pair of popular queer-coded Hindu deities. They're almost always summoned and worshipped together, and you can say they have canonically.... well had a union, and good news is none of them became a woman for the deed. Their union is recorded in the Shatapatha Brahmana 2.4.4.19, where Mitra is said to have "implanted his seed in Varuna" (hmmm nothing homosexual going on here) during the waning moon. Many people consider this a metaphor for the cyclic nature of celestial phenomena so it's upto you to interpret it however you want.
Now they also give off that sunshine x grumpy vibe, with Mitra being the god of friendship, sun, daylight, dawn and stuff while Varuna is the god of the waters, moon, nighttime, dusk etc. Plus, the latter has anger issues but he has a bubbly Mitra (pun intended) to calm him down for dat :D.
They are also known for siring two sages, Agastya and Vasistha after they accidentally released and mixed their semen into a pot as a result of getting enchanted by Urvashi (one of the apsaras or celestial nymphs).
Budh and Ila
Budh is technically an AMAB non-binary (or intersex) deity (and technically the planet Mercury) born to Chandra (who's also synonymous to Soma most of the time) and Tara, to put it simply, and got cursed to be neither male nor female because Chandra had an affair with someone else's wife -_- (Tara was the wife of Brihaspati, or Jupiter, who was also the guru of the gods).
Ila is another genderfluid deity. Some versions of the myth says they were born a woman, some say they were born a man called Sudyumna, while some say they were born a woman, but since their parents wanted a son, Mitra-Varuna (who they preyed to) changed their gender and Sudyumna was born (but then there was some issue with the rituals, which led to the duo to turn him back to a woman, which is when they took the name of Ila. Ik, too much gendershifting going on, bear with me). Anyhoo they got this genderfluidity from Shiva's spell and every month they'd change sex from Sudyumna to Ila and back to Sudyumna and so on. Budh got enchanted by Ila and married her, and bore the Pururavas with her.
Later on, some versions say Ila permanently turned into a man with Parvati's boon. But personally interpreting, Budh was technically still married to Sudyumna so..... idk what happened to them afterwards tho. I hope they were still spouses...

There is a way of blessing a couple in Karnataka in older generation. They say "shiva-parvati haagiri". It means you couple should live together like Shiva and parvati. I always had a curiosity why they don't bless couple like "stay together like lakshmi narayana".
I heard answer from someone. I think it's valid. It is not that love is lesser between Lakshmi and Narayan compared to Shiv and parvati. It's because fate has always seperated Lakshmi and Narayan in their incarnations. Even though Shri Raam had loved Sita maata and Shri Krishna loved Raadha, they had to go through so many hardships. In our scriptures, there are descriptions how much Sita Maata and Raadha had to suffer from seperation. Also Sita Maata was cursed to have such pain in relationship.
Compared to them, Shiva parvati don't have such tragic separation.
That's why people don't bless them "Live together like Lakshmi-Narayan". I find this a very valid reason. So, It is not because their love is less. It is because their fate is adverse.
You can provide your thoughts in comments.
