15 January 2023: King Abdullah II highlighted the importance of further developing the city of Petra, and diversifying its tourism product, as well as capitalising on it being one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
During a visit to Petra that included a meeting with representatives of the local community and touring the Petra Museum and a productive kitchen project, King Abdullah said developing tourism services in the “Golden Triangle” of Petra, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba, will have a positive impact on Petra and Jordan at large. His Majesty, who was accompanied by Crown Prince Hussein, called for maintaining coordination and bolstering cooperation with Arab countries in the tourism sector, in light of strong regional competition in the field. (Source: Petra)
The King noted the continuous rise in the number of visitors to Petra, which calls for expanding investments in the tourism sector, as well as improving the infrastructure, and advancing services to keep up with the evolving needs of the tourism sector. Representatives from the local community presented a number of suggestions for developing the city and enhancing services to visitors and tourists, in addition to promoting Petra as a tourism destination. During a visit to the Petra Museum, His Majesty listened to a briefing by Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Chief Commissioner Suleiman Farajat on the artefacts on display, excavated in Petra and the surrounding areas. Farajat said the museum seeks to diversify the tourism product for Petra visitors, preserve the archaeological site, and extend visitors’ stay, which would increase tourism receipts. Also during the visit, His Majesty stopped at the Petra Kitchen, founded in 2004 by Eid Nawafleh to introduce tourists to Jordanian and Arabic cuisine through evening classes. The Petra Kitchen offers tourists the opportunity to cook and try traditional Jordanian and Levantine dishes, supervised by skilled chefs from the local community. Nawafleh said the project aims to encourage the residents of Wadi Musa and Petra to start businesses that enrich tourists’ experience. According to the PDTRA, the Petra region’s revenues in 2022 rose to JD18.1 million, increasing by nearly 117 per cent compared to 2021. The number of visitors also rose to 905,000 in 2022, increasing by 283 per cent compared to 2021, while the number of hotel rooms increased to 3,100 in 2022, up by 55 per cent compared to 2018, with the PDTRA aiming to reach 4,000 hotel rooms by 2024. The PDTRA has completed 12 projects over the past four years at an estimated cost of JD 31 million, while providing some 1,500 jobs in the hospitality sector in 2022, an increase of 49 per cent compared to 2018.

The Ultimate Guide to When to Visit
Jordan, a captivating nation in the Middle East, boasts ancient cities carved into rock, breathtaking coastlines, and historical treasures waiting to be explored. But to experience Jordan at its finest, timing your trip is crucial. This guide delves into the unique charm of each season, helping you pick the perfect time for your Jordanian adventure.
Tumblr media
Climate Considerations
Jordan's climate varies significantly throughout the year. Here's a breakdown of the key seasons:
* Spring (March-May): Widely considered the ideal time to visit. Enjoy comfortable daytime temperatures (20-30°C) ideal for exploring Petra and other historical sites. Spring also boasts vibrant wildflower blooms, painting the landscape in a kaleidoscope of colors.
* Summer (June-August): Brace yourself for scorching temperatures, often exceeding 40°C, especially in desert regions. While Aqaba Jordan time on the Red Sea offers a reprieve with cooler breezes, intense heat can make extended outdoor activities challenging.
* Autumn (September-November): A welcome respite from summer's heat, autumn offers pleasant temperatures (25-30°C) perfect for outdoor activities. The Red Sea remains warm for swimming and diving, while tourist crowds begin to thin.
* Winter (December-February): Winters can be chilly, with temperatures dropping below freezing at night in some areas. While it's a good time for exploring cities and indoor attractions, some outdoor adventures might be less enjoyable due to the cold.
Aqaba: Your Oasis Awaits
Aqaba, Jordan's coastal gem, offers a distinct climate compared to the rest of the country. As of today, Aqaba experiences comfortable daytime temperatures, making it an attractive year-round destination. However, for the most enjoyable time for water activities like snorkeling or diving, autumn (September-November) is ideal, with warm sea temperatures and comfortable air.
Picking the Perfect Month
Finding the ideal balance between weather, crowds, and costs can be tricky. Here's a suggestion:
* April: Often considered the sweet spot, April boasts sunny skies and comfortable temperatures (in the 70s-80s°F) perfect for exploration. You might even catch the tail end of the spring wildflowers! Expect slightly more crowds compared to winter, but still manageable before the peak summer rush.
Planning Your Jordanian Escape
Ready to embark on your Jordanian adventure? Here are some helpful tips:
* Peak Season (Spring/Fall): Book accommodations and tours well in advance, especially for popular destinations like Petra. Consider arriving early at tourist hotspots to avoid crowds.
* Off-Pack Season (Summer/Winter): Pack accordingly for the season's demands. During summer, prioritize loose, breathable clothing, while winter necessitates warm layers. Maintain flexibility in your itinerary in case of unexpected weather events.

Jordan, with its captivating landscapes and historical marvels like Petra, the Dead Sea, and Wadi Rum, is a dream destination for many travellers. The compact size of the country makes it a perfect candidate for exploring by road and renting a car in Jordan provides the flexibility and freedom to create your adventure.
In this blog, we will into essential tips and advice for Car Rental Jordan Airport, ensuring an unforgettable journey through this Middle Eastern gem.
Tumblr media
1.Cost-Effective Exploration
Contrary to expectations, Car Rental Jordan Airport is surprisingly affordable. In fact, it's often cheaper than renting a car in the United States. Budget-conscious travellers will find that this option not only provides economic benefits but also opens up a world of convenience and opportunities to explore hidden gems.
2.Discover Hidden Gems
Jordan, though a tourist hotspot, has its share of less-explored treasures. To escape the crowds and venture off the beaten path, renting a car is indispensable. The freedom it offers allows you to uncover hidden gems that may be inaccessible by public transport, enriching your travel experience with unique discoveries.
3.Swift Travel
While local buses are a budget-friendly option, they can be time-consuming due to frequent stops and adherence to fixed schedules. Renting a car ensures a faster and more efficient journey, especially if you want to explore multiple destinations within a limited timeframe. The JETT bus system is useful, but it may not always align with your personalized itinerary.
4.Easy Driving Experience
Unlike some countries with chaotic traffic and unpredictable driving habits, navigating Jordan’s roads is relatively laid back. Outside of Amman, the driving rules align with those in North America and Europe, making it a comfortable experience. Traffic concerns are minimal, except in bustling areas like Amman.
5.Unmatched Convenience
Amman Car Rental for personal use means saying goodbye to rigid schedules and limited transport options. You can travel at your own pace, stopping whenever you please, whether for a scenic view, a quick snack, or a bathroom break. The convenience of having your transportation enhances the overall enjoyment of your journey.
6.Embrace The Fun Of Road Trips
Road trips are inherently enjoyable, and Jordan’s diverse landscapes make them even more thrilling. Load up on snacks, create a playlist, and relish the freedom of the open road. Whether you are traveling solo or with companions, the road trip experience in Jordan is bound to be a highlight of your adventure.
7.Effortless Parking
Parking hassles can dampen any travel experience, but in Jordan, finding parking is a breeze. Most accommodations, from hotels to Airbnb, offer dedicated parking spaces. Even in urban centers like Amman and Aqaba, street parking is readily available, allowing you to explore with peace of mind.
8.Combat Travel Sickness
For those prone to motion sickness, cramped public transport can be a nightmare. Amman Car Rental provides the luxury of stopping whenever needed, and sitting in the front seat or taking the wheel can significantly alleviate motion sickness—a crucial comfort for a smoother journey.
Bottom Line
Alright, fellow explorer, picture this: you, a rental car, and Jordan’s wonders at your fingertips. It is not just a road trip; it is your adventure – and it won’t break the bank either. From saving bucks to finding hidden gems, your journey through Petra and the Dead Sea becomes a customizable masterpiece.
So, pack your snacks, opt for Car Rental Jordan Airport, cue your favourite tunes, and hit the road. Jordan is waiting, and with your own wheels, it is a journey where you are in control. Here is to easy parking, swift travel, and a whole lot of fun.

Hire Travel & Tourism Company For A Trip To Petra
Petra is one of the most popular archeological sites. It is an ancient architecture and famous across the world. It is a half built structure, half carved into the rock and bordering with mountains all over. The UNESCO has declared it as a world heritage center and since then it is has become a famous tourist spot. When people visit Jordan, then never miss out to see this wonderful architecture that was built in the 5th century BC.  In the beginning of first centuries to AD and BD, it was a home of more than thousands of people and also a trading city. Though, everything is a belief. Anyhow, now the place is completely empty but its beauty did not fade with time.
youtube
If you love to visit historical places then visit Petra first. You will collect some never forgetting and precious memories that can be cherished forever. However, planning the trip on your own will be a bit difficult. First of all you haven’t been to the place before so you are not familiar with the city route and language obviously. It will be difficult for you to communicate and there may be a mess that you never expected. The right decision will be to plan a trip with the help of a travel and tourism company there itself. While they arrange your Petra tour from Aqaba, you enjoy other places in Jordan.
Top reasons to hire a tourism company:
1. They are providing service for a long period of time and giving the dream of their clients a reality. Travel agents are experienced and have been arranging Petra tours for various tourists for years. They have sent many travelers every year to their favorite destination like Petra in Jordan. From hotel booking to transportation, they will take care of everything and you can remain stress-free.
2. They are well aware of the culture, rules and regulations of the place. Thus they will plan the entire trip in the right manner and make sure you do not face any legal issues during the trip. Agents will provide you all the necessary information that you should not know regarding the trip.
3. Planning a trip requires a lot of time and you may not have that. Foreign trips cannot be planned at the last moment, which is why you need to contact a reliable traveling company in Jordan.
The above mentioned fact clearly explains why it is essential hiring a tourism company for a trip to Petra.

History Of Petra
Petra stands as a testament to the Ancient Nabataean civilization and is one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the world. It was established sometime around the 6th century BC when it served as an important trading hub for caravans traveling between Arabia and Syria. Petra became an autonomous kingdom around 100 BC and thrived until 106 AD when it was annexed by Rome, becoming part of the Roman Empire. Around 363 AD, Petra was destroyed by an earthquake but quickly recovered due to its wealth from nearby copper mines. During this time Christianity spread throughout Petra with churches, chapels, and monasteries built in the area. The site fell into disrepair after several battles between Muslim armies and Crusaders in 1258 AD however it eventually regained its importance and prosperity before being abandoned by nomadic Bedouins for centuries before being rediscovered in 1812 by Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt.

Jordan - Day 8
Our last full day in Jordan was a fairly uneventful one. We left the Aqaba hotel – called ‘My Hotel’, and probably the comfiest bed of the trip – at 8 and got back in the minibus to begin the drive up the Dead Sea Highway to Amman. The scenery is more industrial in the southern reaches of the Jordan Valley, with huge evaporation lagoons and processing plants dedicated to harvesting potash and other valuable minerals from the Dead Sea, and so close to the border with Israel – the city of Eilat was clearly visible from the hotel roof terrace in Aqaba – the security presence along the road is a lot higher. We were waved through most of the checkpoints without delay, but one guard did have a look at our driver’s ID and glance in the windows. I’m not sure if it was a random check or if he was looking for something in particular, but either way ‘Bus Full of Obvious Tourists’ clearly wasn’t high on his search priority list.
The countryside grew greener and more agricultural as we travelled northwards, until we made our only real stop for the day in the village of Safi. I gathered that it was quite a poor farming community, growing bananas and other crops suited to the hot climate, but the tour company is helping to change that by supporting a local initiative called Safi Kitchen that provides home-cooked meals to visitors and brings much-needed commerce and employment to the village. The jolly manager took the time to introduce us to the two local women who had prepared the food today (Umm Rashid and Umm Ramis, though I’m not certain of the spelling) before we sat down for an early lunch. It was delicious, though I swear I’ve eaten more chicken this week than I did in the preceding two months, and Mum bought a small recipe book for them before we set off again for Amman, back to the same hotel as the first few nights (though not the same room).
Some of the group then took taxis into the city centre to visit the Citadel, but Mum and I had already seen everything we wanted to on our first day here, so instead we took a brief stroll through the neighbourhood around the hotel and spent a quiet afternoon before meeting back up with the group for a farewell dinner in the evening. Reem took us all out to a little cultural centre in the middle of the city, tucked away in a side-alley where you’d really need local knowledge to find it, before we returned to the hotel and said our goodbyes.
I’ve really enjoyed this holiday, much more than I’d actually expected to. I’ve always wanted to see Petra, but was still concerned about things like the weather, the rest of the tour group, and whether I’d be able to find anything I could eat; as things fell out, it hasn’t been too hot most of the time, everyone has been really friendly, and everywhere we went for meals had at least something I liked. Everyone we met outside the tour group has also been really welcoming; Jordan as a country seems genuinely friendly towards visitors, actually more so than I found Egypt when I went there. So even setting aside the amazing things to see here, if you have to pick an Arabic country to visit, this is the one I’d recommend – though considerably more so if you have an experienced guide to show you around.

19 June 2023: King Abdullah II reiterated Jordan’s keenness on working with Spain, through its upcoming European Union presidency, to help create a political horizon that would preserve the prospects of just and lasting peace, for the Palestinians and the Israelis.
At a meeting with King Felipe VI of Spain in Madrid, attended by Queen Rania and Queen Letizia, King Abdullah said, “Our joint commitment to peace is evident in supporting the two-state solution as the path forward in resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict”.
His Majesty noted in the meeting, attended by Prince Hashem bin Abdullah, that peace on the basis of the two-state solution is key to ensuring peace and prosperity in the entire region, and beyond.
“We will continue working with Spain to resolve the crises facing our wider Euro-Mediterranean region, out of our shared belief that dialogue and cooperation must be the way forward for mutual progress”, the King added. (Source: Petra)
In addition, His Majesty said Jordan and Spain are taking an important step in building partnerships, out of the realisation that “the only way forward is together. We cannot overcome the multitude of challenges facing our world alone”.
The King added that so much has happened in the world over the past eight years since his last visit to Spain, adding that despite crises, conflicts, and the pandemic, the relationship and the warm friendships “between our families, our peoples, and our countries have stayed true, and continued to grow from strength to strength”.
“It is such partnerships that form the foundation of global stability that is much needed for our regions, and our world. And today, this visit is yet another building block in solidifying this relationship, which has continued to grow over the past seven decades,” His Majesty said.
The King highlighted the fruitful talks held with King Felipe VI and President of the Government of Spain Pedro Sánchez, adding that he looks forward to launching a strategic partnership between the two countries.
His Majesty noted that elevating the ties between Jordan and Spain to the strategic level will enable both countries to work more closely on the issues that matter to both peoples and to the world.
In addition, the King said Jordan and Spain are partners in the pursuit of regional and global peace and prosperity, working together to counter the impact of climate change on food and energy security, pointing to a longstanding partnership in the economic, development, and humanitarian spheres.
“We are truly grateful for Spain’s support for our development efforts, and we look to expand our cooperation in education, tourism, cultural exchange, as well as water and energy,” His Majesty said, adding that both countries are equally dedicated to building a more stable world for future generations.
Turning to fighting terrorism, the King underlined that Spain and Jordan have come together to co-organise the latest round of the Aqaba Process meetings, which will take place on Tuesday in Cordoba, noting that he looks forward to fruitful discussions there with friends and partners, on strengthening global coordination in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
His Majesty also congratulated the Spanish Monarch on the anniversary of his coronation.
For his part, King Felipe VI commended the deep-rooted relations between the two countries and peoples, noting that King Abdullah’s visit marks his ninth coronation anniversary.
He underlined the strong ties between Jordan and Spain and their joint aspiration to democratic co-existence, progress and modernity, in addition to their keenness on actively contributing to peace in the region and across the globe.
The Spanish monarch reiterated the centrality of the Palestinian cause in the region, commending Jordan’s continuous efforts to reach just and lasting peace, on the basis of the two-state solution.
King Felipe VI also highlighted the pivotal role of the Hashemite Custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, which has international and Spanish support.
In addition, he expressed his country’s keenness on enhancing its partnership with Jordan within the Union for the Mediterranean, and through Spain’s rotating presidency of the EU.
King Felipe VI commended Jordan’s efforts in hosting Syrian refugees, as well as Palestinian and Iraqi refugees in the past, highlighting the importance of Jordan’s efforts towards reaching a solution to the Syrian crisis.
Describing Jordan as a centrepiece to a regional balance that is of strategic importance to Spain and Europe, the Spanish monarch highlighted Spain’s keenness on enhancing investment cooperation, especially in the water, renewable energy, and tourism sectors.
He also underlined the importance of elevating relations between the two countries to a strategic level to enhance cooperation in various fields.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, Jordan’s Ambassador to Spain Areej Hawamdeh, and a number of senior Spanish officials attended the meeting.
