After a thorough cleaning out of both my wardrobe and of my fabric stash I found myself with a dearth of shorts with a hot summer coming up and some bits of denim that were just too short to make a proper pair of jeans. Time to make some denim shorts! In addition with all the socks I've been making lately, I found myself missing embroidery, so I took the opportunity to do some sashiko on the back pockets. Short pattern is actually a shortened version of the Morden workpants(threadtheory) with some details lifted from the Azuki workpants ( wafflepatterns). The sashiko pattern is the hishi matsukawabishi motif, which is supposed to represent pine bark and symbolises health and longevity. Hopefully they will improve the durability of my brand new shorts!

新作パターンのお知らせ プルオーバー　アノラック＜アラレ＞

新作プルオーバーアノラック-Arare- を追加しました。カンガルーポケットやジッパーガード、襟・裾のコードなど機能的なディテールがいっぱいの正統派アノラックです。

メンズのワークウェアやアウトドア・スポーツブランドなど機能的な服が好きで、最近よく作ったりスケッチしたりするのですが、このアノラックはその辺のリサーチからできたパターンです。

ベーシックなレギュラーフィットシルエットです。防水・撥水の生地で作れば本格的なアウトドアぽく、お気に入りの色柄のコットンなどで作れば普段着にぴったり、お好きな布を選んで作ってみてください。

<デザインオプション> 

襟デザインはフードかハイネックの２タイプで、コード付きです。コードはつけなくても縫っていただけますが、ハトメやコードの留め具など小さいパーツは機能的なだけでなく、付けるだけでデザインアクセントになって見た目もアップグレードするのでオススメです。 写真のサンプルでは、フェイクレザーのテープをハトメ部分の補強に使っています。

前ポケットはカンガルーポケットと片玉縁タイプの２種類です。 カンガルーポケットは底部分にマチ付き、上部ファスナー開きです。

袖ポケットが左袖についてますが、ありでもなしでも縫っていただけます。

<オススメの布地> 布帛用のパターンです。一般的な薄ー中厚手のシャツ・ジャケット用の生地がオススメです。コットンツイル、薄手デニム、フリース、キャンバス、ギャバジンなどが縫いやすいと思います。

あるパターンテスターさんはウォータープルーフの生地で作ってくれたのですが、ナイスアイデアだと思います。最近は地元の布屋さんでもアウトドア・スポーツ用の生地を扱っているのを見かけるようになったので、ソフトシェルやレインコート用のナイロンなどで挑戦してみようかと思っています。

布帛用デザインですが、ストレッチ生地でも縫ってみました。写真のサーモンピンクのサンプルはストレッチギャバジンです。伸縮率はすごく低くて大体5-7%、サイズ調整は必要ありませんでした。ですので、ストレッチの布帛でも問題はないと思いますが、伸縮率は低いものがオススメです。布地によってはトワルを作ってサイズ調整をしてみてください。

チェック柄のサンプルは薄ー中厚手コットンツイルです。チェックの柄合わせ以外はすごく縫いやすい生地でした。

<その他> 

パターンはレギュラーフィットです。極端な厚手や、ファーで裏打ちしたもの、特別なコートがしてあって固めの生地等をお使いの���は、見返し部分やポケット袋布は別の配色布を検討してみてください。

前開きのファスナー部分はファスナーカバー、ファスナーガードが付いています。こちらもありでもなしでも縫っていただけます。

The Momiji jacket by @wafflepatterns. I made it with waterproof breathable fabric in two colors, wedgewood blue and black, and mesh lining. The pockets are a black reflective fabric.

I like the asymmetrical design and all the pockets. I added elastic cord and toggles to the sleeve cuffs so I could snug them up over my gloves, and a reflective ribbon tab and D-ring to the chest pocket to hold my compass.

I went up two sizes to accommodate wearing sweaters underneath, and increased the circumference of the sleeve by 2 inches.

This was challenging to sew, but well worth it. @wafflepatterns are having a sale right now!

Today I thought I'd share some projects I have on my to sew-list this year!

1. The 'Marie Antoinette' dress, Otome no sewing No. 10

A current w-i-p. I made a mock-up for this some time last year and not much has happened since...

2. The 'cursed' Rococo Jacket, also based on an Otome no sewing pattern, the cinderella jacket from book 6

This has been a w-i-p for many, many years. Everytime I picked it up new problems popped up. I really hope I can finish it this year and never think of it again.

3. Sundress, McCall's M7952 (US number may differ)

Another w-i-p. Mock-up waiting for alterations.

4. 'Leonie' Blouse by tintofmintPATTERNS

I downloaded the pattern but that's it so far.

5. Leather Dress by KianaBonolloDesigns

I downloaded, printed and assembled the pattern. Now onto making a mock-up.

6. Rex Biker Miniskirt by PatternCosPatterns

I 'liked' the pattern on etsy. That's it so far. The skirt looks complicated. Wish me luck.

7. Princess Coat by Charm Patterns

I have fabric I want to use but I haven't downloaded the pattern yet. Since spring is around just the corner I probably won't for a while.

20: What month is their birthday? He’s a Cancer sun sign :)

21: What is your favorite outfit on them? He has this one white wafflepattern shirt that fits him really well- when he wears that with his ‘good’ jeans I absolutely MELT

22: Are they good texters? His gif game is STRONG- but he rarely texts words beyond basic logistical queries. 

23: Your favorite feature about their appearance. His smile. It’s just so cute and sweet- and he has really nice teeth.��24: Your favorite thing about their personality. His deep unwavering goodness. I just can’t imagine him doing anything intentionally harmful to anyone ever. 25: Do they make you laugh? SO HARD. Every day!26: Do you make them laugh? Yeah- but he’s not as easy about laughing, so he more grins at me. He laugh-laughs pretty rarely.27: Are they good huggers/ kissers? Yes he is :) Epic kisser. Could be a better hugger- as he’s not one for LONG hugs very often- and I sometimes just want to be compressed for like a year- but he makes up for that with cuddling.28: What is your favorite “flaw” that they have? His cute butt- people said he doesn’t have one. They’re wrong!

29: Are they nice to strangers? yes. He’s very polite, easygoing and keeps his head down. He’s very introverted so he’s not out your way nice to people, as you normalyl expect southerners to be.30: What is the funniest thing they have ever said? Oh gawd- I’m TERRIBLE at repeating the funny things he says. They’re these whip smart comments or teases that in the moment are amazing- but repeated out of the moment just fall horribly flat.

新作パターンのお知らせ　プリーツTシャツ <Lychee>  

プリーツTシャツ -Lychee- を追加しました。夏にぴったりの簡単に早く縫い上がるアイテムです。

ベースの形はシンプルなので、ベーシックな色でも、大胆なプリントでも合わせやすいと思います。

<デザインオプション> 

半袖丈のキモノスリーブで、リラックスしたルース〜レギュラーフィットシルエットです。ベースはシンプルな形ですが、前身頃のプリーツがデザインアクセントになっています。丈はちょっと短めで軽快な印象です。

ネックラインはVネックとスクープネックのオプションからお選びください。黄色のサンプルはスクープネック、大きい水玉模様とディープレッドのサンプルはVネックです。

<適した布地> 

伸縮率20%以上のニット用にデザインされています。前身頃のドレープが綺麗に出るように、柔らかいジャージーニットがオススメです。シングルジャージー、トリコット、ライクラ、ストレッチレースなどが合いやすいと思います。

黄色のサンプルは、ストレッチレースで伸縮率は20％程度、ディープレッドはライクラで伸縮率はだいたい30％程度でした。両方ともドレープが綺麗に出てお気に入りです。

型紙はニット用なのですが、布帛でも作ってみました。大きい水玉模様のサンプルはクレープデシンです。どうしても布帛を使いたい時は、ストレッチ性のある布帛をお勧めします。その場合、布帛は身頃だけでヘムは必ずニットをご使用ください。襟部分もニットの方が安全です。水玉のサンプルはどうしても合う色のニットが見つからなかったため、襟は共布をバイアスにして使用しています。ヘム部分も共布で中にゴムを入れました。ヘムの幅は15-20%増やしています。

布帛はお勧めはできないのですが、どうしても使いたいという場合はストレッチ性のあるものを選んでいただいて、サイズも1サイズ大きめを使用したり、トワルを作って調整してみてください。
