Solution to the polution caused by the fashion industry

The way we can reduce clothes being wasted comes mostly to the industry, most of the clothes thrown out have nothing to do with the consumer, they have everything to do with the industry, 85% of the clothes that aren’tsold get thrown out, instead of being reused or donated, this is done to keep the prices high, if people could get free clothes every so often, even if only once a year, it would make people buy way less clothes. No store willdonate clothes to people if they can’t get a financial advantage out of it.This is worrying because the volume of clothing American industries throw away each year has doubled in the last 20 years, from 7 million tons to 14 million tons.

But we as individuals can certainly try and make a difference, the fashion industry sells somewhere between 80 billion and 150 billion garments a year globally, meaning that we do have a responsibility to try to avoid polluting as much as possible, we could try “redesigning”our clothes ourselves, this would help make out-of-style clothes more appealing and “cool”again, we can also use clothes that we don’t like as pajamas, instead of buying pajamas, this helps prevent unnecessar ybuying and unnecessary pollution.

The toxic water crisis in Flint, Michigan, has garnered major media attention and public outcry.

Now, a number of people who are outraged about the health toll and the fact that complaints went largely unheard are stepping up to help the city.

Despite the fact that Flint is now back to using Lake Huron as its water source, city pipes have corroded to the point where the water is still unsafe to drink until the entire system is replaced. 

From celebrities to local residents to nonprofits, here are some of the people who are donating and speaking out for Flint.
