Мне кажется, абсолютно все знают легендарную игру #simcity Сегодня посмотрим на версию для #zxspectrum, хотя игра была настолько популярной, что была выпущена практически на всех платформах и стала родоначальником и законодателем жанра градостроительных симуляторов. Игра была разработана #williamwright, причём сама идея возникла как всегда по воле случая. Уильям Райт разрабатывал инди-игрушку Raid on Bungeling Bay для #commodore64. Создав для неё программу-редактор, Райт увлёкся и в и��оге с головой погрузился в разработку нечто совершенно нового. К делу он подошёл серьёзно и проштудировал кучу книг по урбанистике. Огромную роль сыграла и работа моего любимого писателя-фантаста #станиславлем из цикла "Кибериада", а именно седьмое путешествие Трурля. На создание симулятора у Райта ушло почти 2 года, и первая версия игры носила название - #micropolis и была готова в 1985 году для #c64, но ни один из издателей не взялся за неё, считая игру - убыточным проектом. В 1987 году Уильям Райт и #jeffbraun Джефф Браун замутили свою компанию #maxis и смогли найти издателя #broderbundsoftware и на грабительских условиях выпустили таки в 1989 году на рынок уже переименованный в SimCity свой Micropolis. Игра вышла для Macintosh, Amiga, Commodore64 и IBM PC В течение нескольких лет игру портировали на всевозможные платформы, в числе которых и наш горячо любимый #sinclair. Sim City занимает почётное 11 место в списке лучших игр для #синклер по версии Your Sinclair. Правда сколько бы я ни пытался на #спектрум застроить весь остров - ничего не получалось. максимум, чего смог добиться, это относительно стабильный бюджет при минимуме построек. Katherine and I have a had a wonder honeymoon in the Virgin Islands over the last couple weeks! Lots of reading and sunshine and beaches. Here was my reading stack and I’m kinda suprised that I finished all except the William Stafford book. Breece Pancake is always amazing, just as powerful as my first reading. It occurred to me that most of his works occur between two traumas, with the first leading to the second. I highly recommend him. This was my first reading of ‘Deliverance’ by James Dickey. I’m not sure I expected it to be a coming of age type book. The Robert Morgan book didn’t disappoint either, though I think ‘Land Diving’ or ‘Groundwork’ remain my favorites. I think Emma Bell Miles book ‘The Spirit of the Mountains’ was my favorite on this trip. Excellent writing and genuine descriptions of mountain people at the turn of the last century. It doesn’t rely on stereotypes so much as gives honest opinions. This work is something of a treasure. ‘Specter Mountain’ by Graves and Wright only gets better on subsequent readings. Then the seashell book and the climbing guide!
