Okay but on the topic of theatre since this train of thought was cut short the other day when I was watching the stage of the golden witch or well. Not watching I guess I could only think about how much of an absolute Need it is to have my silly little jpeg blorbos played by real people moving around on stage actually it's so fun and everyday I cry about 999 having been so flop because I'm dying to see what little mannerism choices the actors of each character would make the fucking LAYERS that scenes would have like the one with June and Ace on the infirmary god I NEED To See That Shit Live On Stage idc what anyone else says

#im going thru old flipnotes i used to watch years ago and ouggghhg so many good ones #is twenty one pilots still popular.... do people still remember the TRNDSTTER and marble soda meme.........#its like im unlocking some sort of primal part of my brain and everything is coming back to me. one of my biggest inspirations as a kid #i still remember thinking the final transmission lyrics were the coolest thing and watching =TopHat= Bee and Melissa over and over #theres a very specific feeling of longing and nostalgia looking back and watching these again years later #especially when there isnt anything genshin or mcyt and instead its either fnaf undertale eddsworld or another obscure #interest... and not even fnaf sister location its like fnaf 3 and 2. its THAT old. and a lot of oc MVs especially pokemon ocs and furries..#god but they were so creative u know. i still find it amazing ppl took this little lightbox animation on the fucking NINTENDO DS and #cranked it all the way to 11.. like if u look at the transitions and movement its so fucking fluid its insane..!! HOW DO YOU MAKE THE #CHARACTERS SPIN??? AND CHANGING CAMERA ANGLES??? and keep in mind youre doing this all with a shitty stylus #on a THREE BY TWO INCH SCREEN. you only get two layers you can go up to 29FPS and you only have 999 slides to work with #and 24FPS eats up a lot of that. absolutely insane it literally boggles my mind every time i think about it. AND SOME ARE EVEN FULL COLOR #i forgot how popular EDM was back then too...they were really good for timing beats though so you get a lot of MVs with #strobe last and marble soda. porter robinsons goodbye to a world was also popular with undertale and oc MVs. also a lot of vocaloid #someone made a flipnote abt the warner bros fnaf movie being announced EIGHT FUCKING YEARS AGO. it even used the stay calm audio from #the office.... i wonder how theyre doing now... i love you shitty grainy MV audio.. but i have mixed feelings abt the flashing colors #ppl LOVED animating the sans vs frisk fight. aishite and primadonna were also big ones they were SICK AS FUCK #lots of these inspired my old oc designs.. a lot of my characters had side bangs with one eye covered. animal ears and simple eyes too #now i kinda wanna try my hand at the marble soda meme cause i loved it as a kid lol.. i wonder if i should compare my old and new art here #UGHHHH IM SO NORMAL ABOUT NOSTALGIA. theres something abt suzaku and lelouch that makes for really nice atmospheric dreams for me i think it’s a big part of why cg has stuck with me lolll. very fitting actually bc i originally watched it because i kept having dreams about it and got curious…

#it’s interesting to see which things i get into end up being inspiration for memorable or atmospheric dreams…hxh for example i have many #fond dreams of from back when i thought about it more often and deeply and 999 i have a few dreams that stuck with me that are mostly about #the plot or events of the game rather than the characters like usual #as well as being about pretending i don’t know everything about the characters and events to blend in with the cast lolll #but dungeon meshi which i like about a thousand times more than cg hasn’t had that many great dreams so far #i can only think of one that’s really stuck with me although i have definitely had dm ish dreams and i remember them #maybe it’s just because i only read it about 3 months ago now but still it’s interesting to me #pip speaks #dream diary #oh btw the one that stuck with me was basically pov you’re kabru working as a server at a cafe where they arrange desserts in front of you #and having to figure out whos order was whose based on observing the guests. it was very fun like the restaurant video games i used to play #and senshi was the owner of the restaurant giving kabru tips since he was new #i wish i could share the vivid dream/good dream memory ability bc whenever i talk about it ppl are like yeah i don’t dream or #i don’t dream about characters i like. and i really like when it happens so i want more people to be able to do it. sadly i have no idea how

The best feeling in the world is when there’s a piece of media you know you love and you’ve hyped it up as your favorite thing for so long but you haven’t revisited it in a while so you start to worry if it’s really as good as you make it out to be and so you go back and revisit it and it’s like. Oh this is even better than I remembered this shit rules

#the klock keeps ticking #i always get this feeling when i play 999 but tonight i got it with the letter #cuz ive uh finally decided to bite the bullet and play the evil meanie route where everyone dies 😟#a route ive put off for so long cuz its just too damn sad to think about akjdksk god it hurts #and ive played like for the most part every route of this game EXCEPT this one but i know the ending is really dark and i need to see it #plus i will at least get my beloved torture scene in so thats nice #i didnt kill off isabella though its a coma route which i hope still allows me to get the ending i want cuz i mean shell still be out of #commission in the final scene so hopefully it works out #but yeah no i started off tonight on the marianne chapter and while i did skip around through it cuz ive played it many times and i just #wanna get to the important stuff already alskj i also just replayed some of the best parts #aka the shit where lorraine appears and the gay shit alksks and god like hnnnghh not only does this chapter still ruin me emotionally #i also just remembered why i love this character so much and remembered just how good the character writing in this game is #and i also played into the rebecca chapter and didnt skip as much cuz i actually am not as familiar with the coma route #cuz it makes me sad and i never revisited it lol and i havent gotten to The Scene that makes me sob yet #its so coming though dont worry but idk i guess its just been cuz ive been thinking about p3 so much lately #and in particular shinji both the death route and coma route but in particular the coma cuz thats what im writing #and damn lol the letter just writes the grief and nuanced relationships and death stuff so much better lol god #like marianne loses her childhood best friend whom she has a gay ass relationship with to suicide and like its just better #she blames herself and still isnt even kinda okay with it after 13 years #like it just fucking ruined her and the only thing keeping her from losing it is her repression and drinking problem and unattached sex #and then with coma route well fucking first off isabellas friends actually like. visit her frequently damn #and they just all have such unique ways of coping like Zach is being optimistic so no one gets too upset #rebecca is sorta in charge of making sure everything goes smoothly she has to contact the family and make big decisions #and shes also just taking the most stress and shes got so many complicated feelings around isabella going on but she genuinely cannot stand #that isabella is hurt shes fucking destroyed she loves isabella and then ashton AAAAA god yeah i also just remembered that hes SUCH a good #character hes like being a genuine asshole right like Rebecca calls to tell him that isabella is comatose now and he literally doesnt let #her say anything he literally says ‘i dont have time for other things rn’ like the wellness of his friend is just ‘other things’#but you just know thats not it not at all hes burying himself in work to the point of destruction so he can figure out who did this and make #everything okay and he refuses to show even an ounce of vulnerability cuz THE SECOND HE DOES IT ALL COMES OUT AND HE CANT GET OUT OF BED #ANYMORE CUZ HOW IS HE SUPPOSED TO BE OKAY WHEN THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE IS DYING

||. 2am link thoughts bc there's something in the idea of a hero whose duty goes unfulfilled . the restlessness of that . the way it sits there , hot and heavy as an undeniable burden . it's how link kept himself silent because he didn't want to burden anyone else with the idea of a hero who had troubles of his own . it's how he bottled it all up and dealt with it all alone and kept his chin held high and let things pass through or around him because faltering isn't an option . it's about how that wasn't enough .

it's about how he's never really lost a battle in all of his incarnations ( save a singular branch of OoT anyways and even then //gestures at training TP!link. ) . it's about how the most ancient parts of link simply can't comprehend that . refuses to accept it . WILL NOT . it's about how he has to anyways . it's about losing . it's about the vengeance of it , at a point . the storming the front gates of the castle because SCREW YOU . it's about the ghosts he constantly interacts with in the king , the champions , the gravesites , the malice , the eventual poes and gloom .

it's about how he fell to the guardians anyways by no fault of his own , or really ANYONE'S fault besides calamity ganon himself , but how link won't ever really see it that way . maybe he will logically . but emotionally ? that's a harder sell .

it's about how they were blindsided and he wasn't ready . it's about the 100 years lost . it's about all of the lives lost . it's about the time zelda spends bridling the calamity in the castle by herself when link knows damn well he's been quite literally born to be at her side during this exact battle . it's about how it goes past that , though . it's personal . that's his best friend and confidante . that's his princess too . it's about how he's lost too much and he's most certainly not losing her . not again . not ever . certainly not after losing everybody else too .

it's about fear holding back instinct and stifling courage when that fear is left unreleased and yet , despite that , fear is exactly the fire to light beneath one's feet to be courageous enough to not repeat the past . it's about how courage isn't being fearless it's about what you do to rise about the fear . it's about how link is oh-so human . he's a teenage boy . it's about the terror and grief and guilt . it's about the courage and love and ( eventual ) acceptance .

#(link has been a long time muse of mine - since dec 2017)#(and honestly every time i think about this particular vein of thought for him the more i realize no i love him just as much as always)#(i just love how botw takes the dark themes and psychological trauma of it all and turns it into-)#(-something physical. the malice eyes / the gravesites / the ganonblights)#(link getting stronger by going thru the shrines and collecting the spirit orbs bc he's slowly gathering his courage and strength again)#(that being the entire point of the game : one long righteous revenge quest)#(i love how similar botw link is to the first link. i love the idea of the hero spirit being knocked right back down to the first time)#(i love heroes who get beaten down and rise right back up again however long it takes)#(i love that he becomes something of a wanderer in botw.)#(i love the parallels between him and the phantom. i love that in a lot of ways botw link IS a phantom of the past. a vestige.)#(he's just a remnant of who he was ; he'll never quite be the same and he was already odd in the first place)#(and idk i just think that's so neat. i love having link work through that. it never gets old.)#「 ooc . 」─ 999 koroks my ass .#「 headcanons . 」─ hero of the wild .#「 about . 」— courage need not be remembered .

Dial 999 is such a weird little show. a rare case of ABC coproducing with an American outfit (Ziv Television Programs) makes #it one of the only half hour film serials from this era not to have ITC's sticky hands all over it. it's also copaganda of the most clunky #and unsubtle kind; Robert Beatty's Canadian mountie is in London to learn how policing happens here‚ which he does at length and with #much admiring voice over about the hardworking‚ brave‚ friendly‚ frankly amazing officers he meets and works alongside. the thing is it's #so clumsily done and so damn earnest that it actually succeeds in coming off as quite charming rather than tiresome #network have followed a mysterious order for their dvd set.. it doesn't match any of the (admittedly unreliable) transmission orders #available online but nor is it likely to be a true production order‚ as the four episodes Alvin Rakoff helmed as pilots (of which this is #the first) are not the four which open the first disc (only 1 and 2 do). ho hum it doesn't matter I suppose..... one thing we do know for #certain is that this was episode 1: Beatty arrives in London in the opening scene and explains why he's there #cue cockney mobsters cutting each other up as Bill Hartnell looks over his glasses and says hmm a lot #television heaven i tell you
