“Come on, just give in,” Tobi sneeres, in this voice that seems so unlike him,”I know you want it just as much, little traitor.”

How Tobi has figured out that Tenzo is someone who had infiltrated Akatsuki for information is a mystery to him, but apparently he has. Tenzo was good at infiltration, learned and stealthed in it during his days in Root. He knows how to put down scrolls that aren’t found and do it discreetly and still, Tobi somehow found out. It seems almost like the guy can disappear and reappear again at will. Incredible and impossible.

Tenzo might have hesitated a little too much for a moment to make it believable that he does not know who the traitor is Tobi is talking about, maybe he should have instantly been offended, yelled or threatened to kill Tobi, something Hidan or Kakuzu would have done, but Tenzo established himself as a calm nature and so any of that would have been out of character.

“Tobi-san,” Tenzo said, holding his voice as steady as he could. “How dare you tell me i'm a traitor.”

Tobi’s hands were wandering over Tenzo’s back, his forehead pressed against Tenzo’s too. Too close for comfort, too close for breathing. But now that Tobi rightfully assumes that Tenzo is the traitor he seems to have decided to start an aggressive campaign of getting him to submit. The worst thing about it was that it was working. 

Tenzo really wanted to submit. Oh, he really wanted to just melt away under these foreign hands, let Tobi take over and help his brain shut off. But his sense of duty kept his need down low. No, now that Tobi at least suspected who he was, Tenzo needed to keep his guard up all the time.

As if he had heard Tenzo’s thoughts, Tobi tipped his mask upward, showing off a big grin below it. “Don’t listen to the voice inside your head.” He moved closer to Tenzo’s ear and now whispered into it directly. “Listen to me instead, little traitor.”

Tobi moved his nose from Tenzo’s ear to his front, lightly touching Tenzo’s nose as he went down. The skin to skin touch melted his last defenses, the fire in his soul burning from his core to his ears, drowning all the doubt with it. 

“Kiss me,” Tobi said.

Tenzo did.

In mine and many other east Asian cultures, the dragon traditionally symbolises things like power, wealth and strength (imperial symbol and all)

I think we often forget that in the story of the Great Race, the dragon came in fifth because it'd stopped to give people rain. Then it'd stopped again to push a rabbit adrift on a log across the wide river so it reached the shore safely (that's why the Rabbit year comes before the Dragon).

Dragons aren't meant to just be powerful - they are meant to do good with such power, and to help those in need.

So in this lunar new year, I hope you gain more power, so that you might be able to help others. I pray you have abundant resources so you may give to yourself and those around you. I wish you courage, endurance, kindness and generosity, for yourself and your people.

I hope you, and I, will be rain givers, life preservers, joy bringers.

I hope we will be dragons.
