this is a friendly little post to say: if you find that doing stretches for wrist/shoulders/back/whatever either 1) don't help or 2) seem to make your pain worse, then please stop doing the stretches. the answer here is not to keep doing them becuase if you push through the pain eventually it'll get better, right?
listen to me. listen. stretches never did anything for me and at age 25 i learned i had hEDS, which meant 1) most stretches would never help me 2) depending on the stretch, could hurt me, so please. if they aren't helping. please do not keep doing them hoping that they will "eventually" help.

got it from my great uncle, who said it belonged to His grandpa. so we r looking at like 4 generations up here. he gave it to me in 2010 ish bc im the only person in the family that plays violin lol. & being in middle school, i named it Star :')
it still plays well, too! not my default for when i play bc i use my newer violin for that. but i still value her greatly

One side effect of studying piano pedagogy is that whenever I watch a show or movie or video where someone is sitting at the piano and they're supposed to be a relatively experienced musician, I am obligated to be insufferable about their hand and body position. Girl, how are you going to get the range of motion to play octave chords fortissimo when your elbows are glued to the side of your ribs. It's your knees that are supposed to be just under the edge of the keyboard, not your bench. Those fingers are just too flat for the scale passages that the soundtrack says you're playing. Is that a slouch-

a couple weeks ago i figured out i broke my wrists as a kid and like. to be entirely fair to my parents, i said nothing because i was very sure bodies were supposed to hurt and its not like i was supposed to be messing around when it happened and i didnt want mom to be upset with me. however i did absolutely break my wrists which is why my grip strength is bad, i cant do normal pushups or planks, i cant do palm strikes, and also my wrists hurt constantly
