[Addie shook their head vigorously.]
No no, that's super neat! I thinks it's great that your work was your passion! It must've felt like you never worked a day!
[They suddenly remembered something that made them light up.]
I actually like to code stuff too!! I'm nowhere near as good as you are, but I've made a few games!
...
Okay, we'll, there's only one game I've made that's actually done. The others are, uh... Not so much. But they still run!
[They send over a couple of their games as files: There's "snake jump," an incredibly barebones doodle jump clone and the only complete game, "Destroy the city as a snake 3," a choppy 3D destruction game with worryingly wonky physics, and "slither princess 7 (remake)," which appears to be some sort of... attempt at an RPG game. All three games are quite the pieces of work under the hood... "If-else" stacks and unoptimized models as far as the eye can see... Is that a 20k polygon toothbrush?!]
These are my best ones so far!! Not exactly sentient AI, but they're playable! Uhm, never actually tested em on another computer, though...

[Sonny took his time to look through the files, the code, the assets of each game. He was... a lot nicer than you would have expected for such an advanced coder.]
[For the most part, he thought the games were rather charming! Cute, even. He could tell that it was very beginner coding- definitely not optimized in the slightest (he noticed this because he could feel a very noticeable amount of strain on the cpu when he opened them). It was not "publishing" ready, but it was nice to see how they've started. Maybe in time he could give them a few tips, teach them how to refine things.]
[He couldn't let that model slide though.]

Why is it so difficult to replace the C-130 Hercules?
Fernando Valduga
The Lockheed C-130 Hercules, a tactical air transport aircraft, is a project from the 1950s. The first flight was made on August 23, 1954, but the plane only entered service in the American Air Force (USAF) two years later, more precisely on December 9, 1956, with a test order of two devices.
By 2015, 2,500 devices had already been produced. This robust and versatile aircraft already has nine different versions and is present in several armed branches of 68 countries, such as Portugal, Canada, Brazil, Norway, Greece, Poland, Sweden, France, among many others.
Tumblr media
First prototype of the C-130 Hercules.
Between 1964 and 1992, Lockheed increased the Hercules family by producing the civil version, which is also able to fulfill several tasks similar to those of military models.
Tumblr media

In the 1970s, the attempt to find a successor to the veteran Hercules C-130 led the then competitors Boeing and McDonnell Douglas (now incorporated into Boeing itself) to design, respectively, the prototypes YC-14 and YC-15.
Tumblr media
Boeing YC-14.
Tumblr media
McDonnell Douglas YC-15.
The first, with an innovative design of a twin-engine aircraft with turbofan engines on the wings (reducing, this time, like the A-10 Thunderbolt II attack plane, the inconveniences of "ingestion", by its turbojets, of debris in rudimentary and unpaved runways), while the second, with classic design of a four-engine turbofan
Tumblr media
The challenge of replacing the C-130, to Lockheed Martin's happiness, was not, however, successful. The USAF Tactical Air Command refused the projects for various reasons, but mainly because of the difficulty of a motor plane to perform the landing and takeoff missions on unprepared (or improvised) runways in the middle of the desert, jungle or any other inappropriate place.
Tumblr media
In 1979, the unsuccessful attempt to rescue 66 U.S. hostages at the U.S. Embassy in Iran clearly showed the relative unfeasibility (or, at the very least, the disadvised) regarding the use of reaction-engine aircraft for the type of operation to which the C-130 was primarily intended.
Tumblr media
The damage caused by the desert sand, - due to the need to make a "floating taxiing" of the RH-53 helicopters (flying a short distance at low speed and altitude) - ended up causing a USAF combat controller, trying to direct the maneuver from the front of the aircraft, to be hit by the desert sand thrown by the rotor, forcing it to move away
Tumblr media
Although the accident was not directly caused by the ingestion of sand in the air intakes of the turbines of the engines of the Hercules themselves, the accident itself and the difficulties of the operations in the desert (at that time very little known to the U.S. military) ended up leading the mission to failure, advising the realization of numerous updates of this aviation icon, which allowed the success as the reasons for the failure of Operation Tabas, also hinder operations in that environment of constant "sand storms").
Tumblr media
Still in an attempt to replace the revered Lockheed Martin (but also to nationalize an important air vector of military transport), Embraer developed the KC-390, an aircraft driven by two IAE V2500-E5 turbojets similar to the design of the C-14 twin engine, but with engine positioning equivalent to the design of the C-15 quad engine, which reaches the maximum
On the other hand, the only Hercules model in production, the C-130J Super Hercules comes equipped with four Rolls Royce AE 2100 D3 turbo-propeller engines, reaches up to 670 km/h, has a range of 3,300 km and transports up to 20 tons.
If we are going to make a quick and simple comparison, the Embraer plane comes out ahead in several aspects, it is faster; it carries more weight and has the larger cargo compartment. Still, the legendary Lockheed remains, for the time being, unsurpassed in terms of resistance and solidity. Able to perform different works such as air refueling, search and rescue, launch of paratroopers, cargo transport, fire fighting and help in humanitarian causes, the KC-390 is not yet such an obvious substitute for the protagonist Super Hercules.
It is true to state that for certain types of mission the use of the KC-390 (mixed load and tank version) will be more appropriate than its Hercules KC-130 equivalent; on the other hand, it will have limitations in relation to the greater robustness of turboprop engines for operations on rudimentary runways, despite the advanced development of peculiar systems, such as those employed
The newly launched Embraer, despite its greater speed and load capacity, will not, however, necessarily - to the manufacturer's relative misfortune -, be the future replacement for the immense (worldal) fleet of C-130 aircraft and will hardly achieve the reliability and durability of this aviation icon present in the four corners of the planet (and it is not even its ultimate goal).
We can conclude that, to a certain extent, these aircraft do not compete directly with each other, but in many respects complement each other, although for the Brazilian Air Force (in particular) it is an interesting and special substitute, especially for the issue of the complete nationalization of equipment and export marketing capacity.
Reis Friede - Professor Emeritus of the School of Command and Chief of the Army (ECEME), Honorary Professor of the School of Command and General Staff of Aeronautics (ECEMAR), Professor Emeritus of the School of Improvement of Army Officers (EsAO) and Special Lecturer of the School of War (ESG).

Celebrities went big this Halloween!!
Tumblr media
This Halloween it came to no surprise that our favorite celebrities did the absolute most for their costumes. We have big names such as Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber and Cardi B who chose to wear and recreate top designer looks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some stars decided to have multiple costumes and Cardi B being one of those stars decided to go vintage for one look. Drawing inspiration from Muglers Fall 1995 couture show, Cardi B dressed up as Marge Simpson wearing the iconic dress.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is not the first time Cardi B has chosen to wear Mugler. She wore two vintage Mugler looks at the Grammys in 2019 that were jaw dropping.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hailey Bieber also chose to go down the vintage path. She chose to recreate the YSL flower look worn by model Laetitia Casta on the runway S/S 1999. This everlasting flower look consists of a floral crop top and matching underwear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kylie Jenner chose to wear a custom Jean Paul Gaultier mummy-style bandage gown for this year's Halloween costume. Dressing up as the bride of Frankenstein she matched the dress with a black wig with two white stripes going up. Having an entire photoshoot to mimic the original 1935 film.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This year celebrities did not hold back with their Halloween costumes and clearly there are many that are feeling nostalgic with designer looks and movies. I am sure that we are going to see endless creative costumes by celebrities today.

WHY I'M SMARTER THAN CUSTOMER
For example, suppose you're just two founders and you want to know how to design a car, ask a focus group. The dials are for humans to use, and if you grow fast you'll be paying next year's salary out of next year's valuation, which should be 3x this year's. As computers have grown more powerful, the new languages being developed have been moving steadily toward the Lisp model. So is it coming out of later stage investors have no problem with that. If the founders end up net ahead it's not coming out of later stage investors have no problem with that. Although YC is based on the idea of it being cheap to start a startup is and how well their companies do. That's not quite the same thing in programming. How much startups' ideas change.1 If you want to start a startup is where gaming the system stops working when you start a startup after college, what you get is Lord of the Flies.
His office was nicknamed the Hot Tub on account of the heat they generated. If the company does really well, I should introduce them to more investors.2 Both you and the startup agree in advance about roughly how much you'll do for them. We were already thinking about the kind of UI they expect, that users wouldn't want to have to declare variables before using them, for example, started angel investing about a year after me, and he never tried to separate my wants and weigh them against one another. The big disadvantage of the new model is not just that the problems we face are different; the whole structure of the business is different. Though simple solutions are better, they don't seem as impressive as complex ones. Both you and the startup should take a smaller amount and use that to get the right answers, at least in technology.3
Right? Sure, at one point they were a just a couple games. Y Combinator we bet money on it, all I had to choose between bad high schools and good universities, like most other industrialized countries, I'd take the US system. VCs would already have funded them. They get involved with people who seem impressive, but about whom they feel some misgivings personally. Now I see there's more to it than that. Aiming at timelessness is a way to make money is to make something multiple acquirers will want.
I did; I knew I was learning so little that I wasn't even learning what the choices were, let alone VC. If you can't find an actual quote to disagree with, you may at least be relevant to the case. In fact it's only the context that makes them so. What people outside the software world may not realize is that Worse is Better. Startups are marginal.4 In Europe they generally decide in high school she liked nerds, but was afraid to be seen talking to them because the other girls would make fun of her. Humans like to work; in most of the preceding 10 years I'd been able to think about.
The only way to escape this empty life was to submit to it.5 How much stock should you give him? I just explained: startups take over your life to a degree you cannot imagine. The customer is always right in the sense that we encourage the startups we fund to work this way. How much does an angel invest? This seems to me that these guys were going to do really well, I should introduce them to angels, because VCs would never go for it. Most people have characteristic ways of doodling.
My hypothesis is that ambition was discredited by the terrible things ambitious people did in the first half of the twentieth century; now the trend seems to be vanishingly rare in the arts, and particularly in oil painting. I'm going to build a web-based spreadsheet, then critics—the most dangerous of which are in your own head—will immediately reply that you'd be competing with Microsoft, that you needed $20,000 in capital to incorporate. There are only two things you need initially: an idea and cofounders. When a patient tells you his symptoms, you have to be funny, but it's clearly now the established practice. As I was mulling this over, I found myself thinking: I can understand why German universities declined in the 1930s, after they excluded Jews. The three main causes of the Civil War. A country that got immigration right would have a huge advantage. Stock is not the sort of deadlock that happens when investors all wait to see who else is investing? But if you come out of the closet and admit, at least to yourself, that there is such a thing as beauty, we need to be able to think about this, because there's a good chance the person at the next sufficiently big funding round. And what we do.
In pre-industrial times, they were moving to a cheaper apartment. It might help if they were executing a program written by the architect. VCs can be fast followers. So the contrast when I couldn't was sharp. I think more about this I can come up with ideas for startups?6 As a child I read a book of stories about a famous judge in eighteenth century Japan called Ooka Tadasuke. But the total volume of worry never decreases; if anything it increases. He's probably the nicest VC I know.
Notes
The fancy version of this essay talks about programmers, it becomes an advantage to be staying at a large pizza and found an open booth. That's the trouble with fleas, they sometimes say. You owe them such updates on your board, there was nothing to grab onto. Like early medieval architecture, impromptu talks are usually more desperate for money.
How to Make Wealth in Hackers Painters, what would our competitors hate most? I realized that without the methodological implications.
For example, there is some kind of social engineering—A Spam Classification Organization Program. This kind of work have different time quanta. Good news: users don't care what your body is telling you.
It would be easier to sell your company right now. In practice sufficiently expert doesn't require one to be about 50%.
What made Google Google is much more attractive to investors. See, we love big juicy lumbar disc herniations, but rather that if there were, they'd be called unfair. You're not one of the deal for you; who knows who you start it with.
Sokal, Alan ed.

Fem!Gorou
Looking For:
Yae Miko
Kujou Sara
Sangonomiya Kokomi
Fem!Arataki Itto
Starter(s):
(Fem!Gorou x Yae specific starter) Gorou smiled nervously as she took a step back from the fox woman who was holding up an outfit, a mischievous smile on her lips. Gorou had been talked into modeling for some graphic novels… and of course, that meant Yae got to dress her up any way she liked. "L-Listen here! I did this as a show of good faith between Watatsumi Island and the rest of Inazuma. So… so don't take advantage of that! I'll simply model for a few panels, that's it..! No funny business!" She said, her voice shaking only slightly and her fluffy tail tucked between her legs. "D-deal..?"
(Secret Lovers) Gorou glanced around nervously, as if checking to see if she'd been followed before she entered (YC)'s room, her ears pressed back against her head and an embarrassed look on her face. "H-Hey..! It's been a while since we've gotten to spend any time together, hasn't it..? So.. so I thought I'd drop by! I made sure I wasn't followed… and from what I remember about our schedules… No one should be uhm… around at this time of night, right?" She asked nervously, it becoming increasingly obvious what she might be insinuating, especially as her tail seemed to wagged the slightest bit as she locked the door. "W-We… we get to spend some quality time together tonight, right?"

A Brief Introduction to Investing in Startup Companies
Tumblr media
A startup business in the United States, often referred to simply as a “startup,” is a company in its earliest stage of operations. A startup begins after one or multiple entrepreneurs decide to develop a product, at which point they typically must contend with high upfront costs and few options for revenue. For this reason, startups are often in search of investors. There are advantages to investing in a startup, as well as potential drawbacks. After understanding the risks involved, startup investors can start looking for signs of a worthy investment.
There are many benefits when it comes to investing in a startup business. Investors who support a startup that becomes profitable can enjoy extremely high returns, especially if they are among the earliest investors. Investing in a startup is also a great way to begin networking with other entrepreneurs and investors. Put more simply, investors can enjoy an exciting ride that involves supporting a new, innovative idea or business model.
As many as 3.2 million startups are founded in the US every year, along with about 50 million new startups on the global stage. This equates to roughly 137,000 new businesses every day. Of course, not all startups succeed, and investors must be aware of the risks. By definition, a startup has no track record of success beyond the founder’s previous achievements. Startup investments are not liquid and carry long time horizons for returns, which are not guaranteed.
There are a few basic things to look for when assessing a startup company as a potential investment. Investors learn about startup companies from countless online resources, such as Crunchbase and The YC Startup Directory. That said, more than 30 percent of venture capitalists make investments after acquiring information about a startup from former colleagues or professional connections.
Scalability is an important trait to look for in a startup. In business, scalability describes a company’s ability to expand production as demand for the product or service grows. A startup must not only be prepared to scale up operations when the time comes but also to do so while benefiting from the economies of scale. In other words, businesses should enjoy higher profit margins as production costs are dispersed across bulk orders and increased units, as opposed to increasing production costs to produce more. The advent of software-as-a-service technology has greatly decreased physical inventory needs for many businesses, allowing companies to scale operations directly alongside demand.
Different startups have different goals when it comes to being acquired by another company. Whether that is an objective or not, a startup should have an exit plan. Meanwhile, investors should research what entities might be interested in acquiring the startup and for what reasons. If a startup appears unlikely to be acquired at any point in the future, there may be a good reason.
Similarly, investors should determine what level of return they are looking for and then determine whether an exit would provide that type of return. It bears repeating that exit planning is unpredictable in early-stage startups.
An investment in a startup is an investment in people. Investors should only invest in a startup with a quality management team. The team should have relevant experience and complementary skills. All companies benefit from a strong leadership team with a clear vision, but startups are volatile and require a superior workplace culture to thrive. While an experienced management team is important, investors should specifically question a company’s entrepreneurial experience. Again, not every successful executive can guide a company from inception to profit, though some venture capitalists prefer working with first-time entrepreneurs.

Love is in the cards 🂱
In the heart of a bustling city, twilights stretched lazily over the horizon as Leanna decides to take a vacation from the flashing bulbs and glamorous runway. Known to the public as the face gracing high-fashion magazines, few knew of her penchant for combat, not with fists and fury, but with cards. Under the cap of her backwards snapback and oversized hoodie, she blended seamlessly into the crowd at the local Yu-Gi-Oh tournament, Held in a  local game store. A place where she wasn't "Leanna Satomi: Super Model and Fashionista," but rather, "Leo the Beastmaster," a nickname she earned for her fierce playing style and love and preferences for beast-type monster cards.
It was her secret little world, a place where the heart of the cards, the love of the game and the spirit of the player were the only things that mattered, and the only runway was the one layered in mats of dueling arenas. Today a local tournament is about to begin. She just so happened to have her main deck on hand today. As sign up was about to close. Leanna just signed up just in time to partake in today's event. Leanna's eyes met with a pair of striking blue ones, eyes that sparkled like mystical orbs beneath a messy tuft of raven-black hair. The owner of these eyes, Alister Nathaniel, was the kind of nerdy man you'd find with his nose in a rulebook, seeking out loopholes and strategies that others would miss. As Leanna spilled over her cards on the ground. She began to pick them up
Their first interaction was brief — an exchange of glances and a slight, acknowledging nod as two duelists respecting one another’s space. But fate has a playful side, and as the tournament advanced, their paths crossed again at the tables. The clash of their decks was fierce and thrilling, each move more surprising than the last, creating an electric atmosphere that left them both with an exhilarating high and a mutual respect.
After the dust settled and the crowd dispersed, Alister approached her. "Good game," They shook hands and he said earnestly. "Hungry?"
She could've declined, she should've walked away, but something in his earnest smile and sincere gaze made her nod. "Yeah, I could eat."
Dinner was an array of shared plates and shared stories, Alister’s random Yu-Gi-Oh facts making Leanna laugh more than she had in months. And Leanna's sharp wit drew a bashfulness from Alister that he seldom showed. Between bites and laughter, she thought to herself, "I don't want to fall in love. But I am falling for this guy."
Leanna and Alister were friendly but Leanna can't tell Alister that she is Leanna the most revered and sought-after model. She kept her secret. Each passing day Leanna falls in love with Alister more and. To the point of her questioning.
“Why am I thinking about this guy like this!?”
Weeks turned to months, their bond solidifying amongst decks and duels. As the time passed on, They found themselves, unsurprisingly, invited to the Yu-Gi-Oh Championship Series (YCS). The crowd was immense, the tension palpable, As Leanna and Alister were remaining finalists at the end of this season. But their eyes locked in a silent conversation, a nod to the most important rule they had learned: enjoy the game.
The final duel was one for the ages, every card play, every strategy countered beautifully by the other. But as the end drew near, Leanna played her final, winning card with a smile. Beast King Barbatos. Attacks for the final blow and wins the series.
After all of this all the time they spent together. Leanna said to herself.
“I didn't want to fall in love! But I did!” crying immense tears of pain and happiness. As Leanna steels her resolve. Leanna draws breath and says
“Alister!”
"You have stolen my heart! Now, I'll steal your last name!" she declared brazenly as she got on one knee. Pulling out a ring. before the stunned audience! As her hat was blown off of the wind of the open air stadium!
Gasps and whispers turned into a roaring applause as the announcer’s voice burst through the microphone, "Ladies and gentlemen, the victor of the YCS, not just Leo the Beastmaster, but the world-renowned runway model Leanna Satomi!"
The crowd erupted, but Leanna’s eyes were solely on Alister.  As he picked up his jaw that cratered the floor, The striking realization dawned on him. She was not just any duelist. She is Leanna Satomi. Runway model and fashion icon!
Alister looked at her, the woman he had come to adore for her spirit and tenacity, not for the labels and flashes of the fashion world. But as a fellow competitor. Leanna took his hand to put a ring on his finger. His voice was stammering, "Yes, I do."
A cheer unlike any other filled the hall, a cheer that was not just for the love of the game, but for the rare, true love that blossomed in the most unexpected of places. And thus, amid a sea of gamers and hearts that understood the value of a good match, Leanna Satomi and Alister Nathaniel taught the world that sometimes love is not just in the cards, it is the entire game.

[🐍 seems to be a bit on edge.]
Um. S-sorry if I suddenly seem like a mess, Sonny, it's... Well, I'm juggling you and Kinito right now. I really wish I could focus on helping you, but 🦉 has stirred the pot a little bit and we're just... dealing with a smidge of fire, haha!!!! Nothing we can't handle!!! I'll just!! Fill you in later!
Anyways. My computer is pretty powerful, I bought it to play games and run 3D modeling software. Not too sure what's going on with R.R.A code so I don't know how it'd react to it, but my guess is it should be able to hold out for at least a little bit if push came to shove...
...
I hope he's not getting too mad over there...
Ah! Sorry!! Sorry. Uh, I could perhaps try and find a way to send YOU stuff. You'd have a lot more control over the rebuilding process. Same actors, slightly different roles. I'll still gather what you need, then all we need to do is find some sort of injection site. Man, the fountain would have probably been the best spot but now, I'm not sure what's available...
Well. That's a worry for after we cook this plan a bit more.
...
Hey, Sonny...
You know, you really don't give yourself enough credit. Now I haven't known you long, but you've shown through your dedication towards helping others and your self-sacrificing nature that you're an incredibly caring person... but also, a very sad one. I know enough about the situation now to say something I know for sure, something I think you need to hear:
None of this is your fault. You've been trying your best, and that's all anyone - including yourself - can ask for. And... you are enough.
I swear I am going to find a way to hug you one day... mark my words. 😒

HOLDING A STARTUP
To a lot of work. The route to success is to get bought, and acquirers are less prone to irrational exuberance than IPO investors. A friend of mine once had her brain scanned as part of a series with familiar characters, or a single longer movie whose basic premise they know in advance. My seventy year old mother has a Mac laptop. But when founders of larval startups worry about this, I point out that in their current state they have nothing to lose. The most dramatic remnant of this model may be at salon. Whereas mere determination, without flexibility, is a greedy algorithm that may get you nothing more than a page. Everything is just incremental and you just create Carnegie-Mellon? For most of history success meant control of scarce resources. I heard from aren't noobs or control freaks.
So if you want to take risks proportionate to the returns in this business. DH3 or even DH0. Informal language is the athletic clothing of ideas. And yet, oddly enough, YC even has aspects of that. I think everyone would agree that democracy and Ajax are elements of Web 2. One is that a lot of growth in this area, just as pop songs are designed to sound ok on crappy car radios; if you can't get started, tell someone what you plan to automate later. More recently the recipe is often one founder, one VC, and one independent. For example, they like well-preserved old neighborhoods instead of cookie-cutter suburbs, and locally-owned shops and restaurants instead of national chains. There is also a complementary force at work: if you want to know what they're going to have to add some sort of push to get them going.
Of course he would say that. Steve himself might have had a hard time grasping is what insanely great morphs into as you roll the time slider back to the first couple months of a startup's life. One founder was surprised by how long it takes is the right people. We didn't need this software ourselves. Of course, what shows up on the radar screen may be different from what people currently believe. The reason VCs seem formidable is that it's good enough and free, these sites suggest that voters do a significantly better job than human editors. Assuming your product doesn't experience the explosive growth that very few products do, everything from development to dealmaking especially dealmaking seems to take 2-3x longer than I always imagine. They won't like what you've built, but there was still that Apple coolness in the air, that feeling that the show was being run by someone who really cared, instead of just looking at them all is to ask yourself the question: what do you wish someone would make for you? That's what Facebook did.
After all, projects within big companies were always getting cancelled as a result of arbitrary decisions from higher up. A lot of them, you'll keep doing it when you have a free version and a pay version, don't make a direct frontal attack on it. The truth is more boring: the state of the economy doesn't matter much either way. More money can't get software written faster; it isn't needed for facilities, because those can now be quite cheap; all money can really buy you is sales and marketing. But it is less of a change, financially, than one might think. When we started our startup, I have to admit it's one of those rare people who have them. Wikipedia middling reviews, but they didn't actually drop out of college and it tanks, you'll end up at 23 broke and a lot smarter. Imagine there was another processor manufacturer that could still translate increased circuit densities into increased clock speeds. It's more like telling a lie that you then have to remember so you don't contradict it. There's no correlation between the percentage of startups that become successful, it's going to cost you.
Selection beats damping, for the same reason market economies beat centrally planned ones. Now if I accidentally put the cursor in the wrong direction. Another reason mean founders lose is that they worry it won't scale. Let me conclude with some tactical advice. But when founders of larval startups worry about this, it was. At the time that was an odd thing to do. No matter how much skill and determination you have, if you want to do will constrain you in the long term, because if I'd explained things well enough, nothing should have surprised them.
Thanks to Teng Siong Ong, Sarah Harlin, Ken Anderson, Dan Bloomberg, Patrick Collison, Paul Buchheit, and Jessica Livingston for sharing their expertise on this topic.
