i once saw an instagram reel with a guy holding two preserved blue morpho butterflies, one with brownish tattered wings and one with beautiful bright blue wings

he explained that the one with tattered wings lived a full, long life and died of old age

but the beautiful one died tragically young, of some sort of abdominal infection shortly after becoming a beautiful blue butterfly

its blue beauty being preserved after its untimely tragic death reminded me of a story i read in a dream:

once upon a time, there was a little prince everyone loved so much, but he died so young; too young

the kingdom turned his ashes into a sandcastle, and the kingdom still rejoiced at their prince becoming a beautiful, delicate sandcastle; there were special guardians and servants who ensured the sandcastle stayed intact

but one day, the sandcastle fell

and the kingdom cried

and cried

and cried

because they had lost their prince once more, forevermore

I'm rereading a version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears from my childhood and in it she uses too hard/too soft/just right for the CHAIRS but in this same exact adaptation she uses the too high at head/too high at foot/just right for the BEDS
