MOVE has an urgency for movement. Where change is not only inevitable, it is burningly wished for. Willed into existence. From a sense of interconnectivity sprouts a direct, decisive and ready-made improvisation. Relentless as the rainforest, fertile as alluvium, blossoming ideas from doubt. MOVE is the concept and music of bassist Felipe Zenícola (Chinese Cookie Poets, New Brazilian Funk), saxophonist Yedo Gibson (Eke, Naked Wolf) and drummer João Valinho (Rodrigo Amado Refraction Quartet, Fashion Eternal). The three musicians connect through an unwavering awareness of each other's creation, where activity and adaptability are strived for, where communication and respect are paramount - where everything is possible and the impossible is desired. With a legacy of intense collaborations between its members, MOVE was born in 2022, between Sintra and Lisbon, through the will of creating a project that would gather their shared ideas, striving to offer a pertinent contribution to the creative music panorama. Characterized by perceptive and incisive construction, MOVE's music knows no stylistic limits, searching an unique dynamic that explores the limits of interplay and communication. O Portalegre Jazzfest - Festival Internacional de Jazz de Portalegre, um dos mais conceituados festivais de jazz do país, está de regresso, com a sua 18ª edição a decorrer de 27 a 29 de abril, no Centro de Artes do Espectáculo de Portalegre (CAEP) e também noutros locais da cidade, com uma programação eclética, descentralizada e recheada de jovens promessas e de nomes conceituados do panorama europeu e mundial do jazz contemporâneo. A abrir o 18º Portalegre Jazzfest, o auditório do Museu da Tapeçaria de Portalegre - Guy Fino receberá, dia 27, num concerto de entrada livre, Margaux Oswald, pianista de origem franco-filipina, a residir atualmente em Copenhaga, na Dinamarca, expoente europeu da arte da improvisação livre. O seu álbum "Dysphotic Zone", lançado pela Clean Feed Records, foi eleito um dos melhores álbuns a solo de 2022, pela New York City Jazz Record e foi eleito o 10º álbum internacional do ano, pela Jazz.pt. A noite inicial do JazzFest terá lugar no Centro de Congressos da Câmara Municipal, também na 5ª feira, com o regresso do Sax Alto de Ricardo Toscano, desta vez num trio, com Romeu Tristão, no Contrabaixo e João Pereira, na Bateria. O Ricardo Toscano Trio virá apresentar o álbum "Chasing Contradictions". Se em termos formais, o som do trio pode reportar aos anos de 1950 e 1960, já no que ao conteúdo diz respeito ele é sem dúvida um produto do nosso tempo, refinado e sofisticado, sem perder urgência. Novidade este ano, será a parceria com a aKadémia Jazz, que englobará a realização de duas jam sessions, abertas a toda a população, na tarde dos dias 28 e 29 de abril, no seu espaço "Improvisos", no Business Center de Portalegre. Na 6ª feira, dia 28 de abril, "regresso à base" do JazzFest, no Grande Auditório do CAEP, que receberá dois concertos de exceção: a abrir a noite, um dos grandes nomes do jazz europeu, o baterista norueguês Paal Nilssen-Love, está de volta ao Centro de Artes, com o seu grupo Circus, projeto que traz a palco sete músicos de diferentes campos, com experiência em vários estilos: étnico, clássico, contemporâneo, jazz, free jazz, noise, pop, entre outros. Nilssen-Love compôs as músicas, mas estas são mais como mapas com liberdade para cada músico escolher direção e intensidade. A terminar a noite de 6ª feira, mais um concerto a não perder, com o projeto Move, criado em 2022, entre Sintra e Lisboa. Composto por Yedo Gibson, no Saxofone Tenor e Soprano, Felipe Zenícula, no Baixo Elétrico e João Valinho, na Bateria, a música dos Move não conhece limites estilísticos, traduzindo-se numa dinâmica ímpar que explora os limites da comunicação musical, viajando num inexplorado mundo que vai do free jazz ao punk rock. Para concluir a 18ª edição do Portalegre Jazzfest em beleza, a noite de sábado no Grande Auditório do CAE promete, com o projeto João Lencastre's Communion, que virá apresentar o seu galardoado disco "Unlimited Dreams", saído em 2022. Este octeto, capitaneado pelo baterista e compositor João Lencastre, é um ensemble de geometria original graças à combinação de duplas de saxofones, guitarras e baixos, com o piano e a bateria a surgirem solitários, mas igualmente determinantes, com alguns dos mais experientes e criativos músicos da cena lisboeta. O último concerto do JazzFest será o do grupo Julien Desprez Abacaxi, com a sua mescla de rock, jazz e blues. Os Abacaxi são constituídos por Julien Desprez, na Guitarra, Jean Francois Riffaud, no Baixo Elétrico e Francesco Pastacaldi, na Bateria/Sintetizador. Este trio franco-italiano cria uma música altamente enérgica, cheia de brilho ruidoso e bordas afiadas - complementada por uma coreografia de luz. O programa do 18º Portalegre Jazzfest engloba ainda as já tradicionais provas de vinhos e de produtos regionais, assim como a Feira do Disco e do Livro, em colaboração com a editora Clean Feed. Some of the Greatest Games of All Time Get New Life as a Tabletop Game Series

Set to capture the feel of these classic titles, the Atari line of board games are fun, intense and fast-paced. From the music recorded in two days at Namouche Studios Lisbon, and reaching the public through this cd, comes a constantly changing sound and atmospheric passages, managed with the tense restraint of someone who listens and understands their place within a great formation and moments of collective ecstasy with no final destination. Movements of elusive harmony that revolve around themselves in line with the haunting lyrics of 'He Loved Him Madly' by Miles, along with a whirlwind of strings that brings that liberation of Alan Silva's ensembles, electronic phrases as meta-rhythmic as landscapes and more detours and certain continuities, in an abysmal game of mirrors. The name is well placed! The troop, the Abyss Mirrors, invoked by guitar player Luís Lopes, as described in his own words draws from inspirational foundations and a search for continuity to music that is born from the ensembles of Sun Ra and advances through the electric periods of Miles Davis and Ornette Coleman, to continue with Wadada Leo Smith, and pinching from electroacoustic giants like Stockhausen or Gabriel Prokofiev. A Herculean task but full of intention, built by an ensemble made up of a dozen figures, 4 nationalities: Portuguese, Swedish, Finnish, and Brazilian, all currently based in Lisbon, coming from areas as disparate as intersectional: obviously from jazz but also free improvisation and experimental styles, from electronic to underground techno, contemporary or rock, with a good balance between electric and acoustic.
