Rauchfrei / non smoking: Der komplette Innenbereich bleibt wie immer rauchfrei (auch was E-Zigaretten betrifft). As always, there is no smoking inside the whole venue, this concerns also e-cigarettes. merch: NARSHARDAA RECORDS wird wie immer am Start sein, die Kieler Antifa ebenfalls und alle Bands werden ihr Zeux dabei haben. There will be plenty of record & merch tables at the festival, also from NARSHARDAA Records and of course the local antifa will be there too.

Anreise - arrival: Per Bahn geht es auch. Wegen der Kieler Woche fahren innerhalb Schleswig-Holsteins & nach Hamburg viele Extrazüge bis spät in die Nacht hinein. During the Kieler Week the railway company provides a lot of additional trains through North Germany. Therefore it will be possible to get home even late at night, in an hourly rhythm.

1. PLANKS (HC/Metal - Mannheim): Keine klassische reunion, sondern die Gelegengeheit einer der besten deutschen Bands ever noch einmal live zu sehen. Bei uns und beim legendären Cry Me A River Fest in NRW, die nach 20 Jahren aufhören werden. PLANKS, mit ihrer düster-metallischen Mischung aus HC, (Black) Metal und Doom, werden beim KIEL EXPLODE ein set mit dem Fokus auf den ersten drei Alben und der split mit TOMBS spielen. In der Originalbesetzung und als Abschluss des KIEL EXPLODE Festival.

Not a classic reunion, but the opportunity to see one of the best German bands ever again live on stage. Here in Kiel and at the legendary Cry Me A River Fest in NRW, which will stop after 20 years. PLANKS with their dark, metallic mixture of HC, (black) metal & doom will play a set with the focus on the first three albums and the split with TOMBS. They will play with the original line-up and they will close our festival. So, be there!

2. KOKOMO (Post-Rock - Duisburg): Brachialer, epischer Instrumental Post-Rock, der verdammt heavy ist und kaum besser sein kann. KOKOMO sind für uns alte Bekannte, eine fantastische Liveband und wir freuen uns sehr, dass sie zum Abschluss unseres Festivals noch einmal nach Kiel kommen.

Epic post-rock that is damn heavy and could barely be better. KOKOMO are old acquaintances for us. They are a fantastic live band and we are very happy, that they come to Kiel for the conclusion of our festival.

3. LLNN (HC/Metal - Dänemark): Metallischer Extrem-HC aus Dänemark, der uns etwas an TODAY IS THE DAY erinnert. Tonnenschwere riffs treffen hier auf sehr gut gemachte und hervorragend integrierte Synthesizer-, Industrial und Horror-Soundtrack artige Klänge. Mit ihrem eigenständigen Mix sind LLNN derzeit eine der besten europäischen Bands.

Metallic extrem HC from Denmark, which reminds us a little bit of TODAY IS THE DAY. This is real dark and heavy music in combination with great and very well integrated synth and industrial sounds, that are similar to a good horror soundtrack. With LLNN you can expect one of the best and heavy as hell European bands right now.

4. AESTHESYS (Post-Rock - Russland): Neo-Klassik meets Post-Rock? AESTHESYS aus Moskau, die bisher nur selten in Europa unterwegs waren, kriegen das hin. Auf ihre ganze eigene Art und Weise, da fallen Vergleiche schwer. Wir sind gespannt!

Neo-classic meets post-rock? AESTHESYS from Moscow, who have rarely been to Europe, do that in their very own way. Comparisons are difficult. We are excited!

5. SUFFOCATE FOR FUCK SAKE (HC/Screamo - Schweden): Stammen aus Schweden (mit Basti v. MOMENT OF COLLAPSE in den Reihen) und fabrizieren Musik, die alles andere als leicht verdaulich ist. Auch textlich gesehen. Düster-depressive Post-Rock/Screamo Klänge mit Gitarrenbreitseiten versehen, die an CULT OF LUNA oder alte ENVY erinnern. Live sind SUFFOCATE FOR FUCK SAKE nur selten zu sehen. Insofern sind wir doppelt froh, dass sie nach Kiel kommen.

Coming from Sweden (with Basti/MOMENT OF COLLAPSE in the ranks) SUFFOCATE FOR FUCK SAKE create music - and lyrics - which are anything but easy to digest. Dark-depressive post-rock / screamo sounds with guitar walls, reminiscent of CULT OF LUNA or old ENVY. SUFFOCATE FOR FUCK SAKE are rarely seen live. In this respect, we are twice as glad that they will come to Kiel.

6. rýr (Post-Metal - Berlin): rýr haben gerade erst letztes Jahr ihr Debütalbum veröffentlicht. “Left Fallow” nennt sich das hypnotische Werk und ist ein ordentliches Brett. Wer düster-atmosphärischen sowie rein instrumentellen Post-Metal mag, ist bei den Berlinern ganz richtig.

7. KAVRILA (HC/Sludge - Hamburg): Die Hamburger werden unser letztes Festival eröffnen. KAVRILA beackern das HC/Sludge/Metal/Doom-Feld. Kompakte Songs die ohne lange herum zu fackeln dynamisch auf den Punkt kommen. Und das schlägt sich auch in ihren Live-Auftritten nieder, mit denen sich die vier in Kiel bereits eine Fangemeinde erspielt haben.

KAVRILA from Hamburg will open our final festival edition. Expect an energetic and powerful mix of HC, sludge, metal and doom, reduced to the essentials.
