i'm gonna go insane

whenever i watch the opening of wreck it ralph i can't help but wonder ... ok so originally and for years i've always thought the other bad guys just didn't fully understand how much shit ralph has gone through for his entire life and they have better lives which i think is in parts still true , as they do appear to have get-togethers often and they seemingly have other friends while ralph had no one , but i unfortunately don't feel like that's the extent of it and that there's more to it than that .

on one rewatch something about their phrasing bothered me ... 'we've all felt what you're feeling and we've come to terms with it' like this could either - again - mean just that 'we didn't exactly like doing bad things but as bad guys it's our job to' but then i thought ... what if they also experienced a similar situation of mistreatment by their good guys and npcs ? what if they still experience that ? but it's just easier to deal with because they all have each other ? if bad-anon isn't just for 'im bad and that's good' but like the only place they find acceptance ?? bc like when ralph is walking home from pac-man's , the other characters he comes across say 'bad guy coming' like ??? do all bad guys experience this ??? but we just don't get to see it ??? ralph is the only one stopped by surge protector in the instances we see but who's to say the other bad guys don't get stopped on occasion too and we just don't see it ? or maybe they're let off easier bc they've 'accepted their place' . oh my god .

and at the end of the movie , ralph is treated better by the nicelanders , which is good ofc , but how are the other bad guys doing ??? if they've been through something similar , are they being treated better too ??? i sure hope so ... like maybe there was like some kind of meeting offscreen like 'hey can we stop outcasting bad guys for just doing their jobs please' idk ... i just have a horrible terrible feeling there's no way the other bad guys aren't facing or at the very least have faced similar discrimination . it's just easier to deal with bc they've had to forge a community to support eachother . because no one else will give them the respect after-hours . im sure someone else has mentioned this before idk i just need to get it out b4 i lose my mind

i could phrase this all more eloquently but i think i might just end up overthinking myself to death i tend to do that a lot

ok i'll bite and toot my own horn this once— when it comes to writing zoro it feels like i have him down to a science. i read the things i write for him and feel so proud (most of the time) bc it comes from such a personal place, he means so much to me and because of that, his voice comes so naturally to me. sukuna is a bit more of a challenge but it's mostly because i just don't write for him as much as i do zoro – i'll probably never write for anyone as much as i do zoro erm haha

right now im trying to figure out guzma, and my 15 year old self is coming out a Lot in the sense that I'm projecting my teenage crush onto him by making Him crazy about Me LMAO. he's a bit of a blank slate but there's also plenty to work with so he's a challenge while also being really fun (and funny) to write. i think it would also probably help to find a voiceclaim for him since omg i do Not like his dubbed voice in the anime. it doesn't suit him At All HAYDNDBD

Zilly headcanons that i have no source for and tbh are probably contradicted in one throwaway line somewhere in the comic

Okay so this one does have some canon merit and I've talked about it before but for the sake of this post being in any way comprehensible: Zillum/The planet(/nations/whatever who cares) that all the Zilly bullshit originates from was the byproduct of a bunch of cherubs getting high on trickster candy and cooperatively ruling one big society, the entirety of which was also perpetually tripping on space lsd.

Okay back to baseless spitballing

The inhabitants of the planet were pretty much All Tomorrows Style genetically engineered to resemble trickster cherubs. The people there would've looked incredibly similar to trickster humans.

This one is where I'm 99% sure I missed a major plot point that contradicts it but: I like to think the reason Earth was so wildly different from Alternia despite supposedly being a clone of the planet in a cloned universe was due to LE or LE-adjacent interference. Paralleling Doc Scratch thinking it'd be funny to make Alternia into a caricaturistically violent war planet, someone involved with Earth A decided it'd be funny to go the opposite route and just fill the universe with Zilly references. Hence humans looking like that, clowns being a common thing on earth and not just an obscure cult, squiddles existing, etc.

Most of the language spoken in the Zilly nations (and by most cherubs after the nations' fall as a result) was intended to be able to be spoken only by the Zilly people. Cherubs themselves don't have the mouthparts to verbally pronounce a lot of words associated with themselves and with Zillium (examples of those words include: Cherub, Juju, Zilly, Wee, Beep, Meow) so the idea was to make the language as foreign and incomprehensible as possible to establish cherubs as impossibly powerful and mind-boggling forces.

(Oh yeah. Based on the stupid analysis of every canon visual depiction of cherubs I could find, the best conclusion I could come to about how cherub mouths are structured is that they have no upper lip but do have a pseudo-bottom-lip. Also obviously overbites and snake tongues and sharp teeth. Stay tuned for the complete cherubic phonetic inventory post based on this /j)

A lot of Zilly words also leaked into human languages--at least into English--based on how cherubs pronounced them. (Most notably, Zilly -> Silly, Cherub -> Seraph (although the word cherub obviously made it in too) and Hoo/Wut/Wen/Wair/Wigh/Wich/Hau -> Who/What/When/Where/Why/Which/How)

The mere existence of Zillium had a tangible effect on all the life in Paradox Space. Everything is just a little bit more curious and bipedal and vulnerable to addiction etc. since it happened. This is how I'm coping with the obvious and very intentional joke of all these species having most of their culture copy-pasted from Earth.

I never like to class an F/O as my "main" F/O because I have so many to love BUT. I HAVE A FEELING ZILLY MIGHT BE TAKING THAT SPOT. Even when I feel myself drifting from the Stop the Pigeon fixation I still try to keep him lingering in my head, I went years without thinking about him, I ain't about to do it again!!

Even when I'm thinking of my other F/O's he'll always be there <333
