The thing is with tumblr is really the two main ways of getting found are thru tagging (only the first 5 tags filter into the tags) and other folks reblogging (which given how everyone just uses likes these days which is useless on tumblr other than an archive, its always good to leave a little note to reblog your posts, too). There's not really much else that can be done directly that I've experienced? Which, to be fair, im only one person, so others have other experiences.

In my experience it's good to make a couple friends in your fandom too, and support them as they support you, cause then everybody gets stuff rotated around to new crowds. And of course having friends to talk about blorbos with is great ✨️

Additionally too, when you go from one fandom to another, especially abruptly or you were wholly in a single fandom before, it can be hard to engage with your previous audience cause they expect one kind of content and you're giving another. So you really have to show them how great this new thing is on your blog! Or, some people start fresh and have sideblogs for each of their fandoms

The last piece of advice I have for your thoughts is that you can check your activity on tumblr, if you're on desktop, and see what hours you get the most engagement on your blog. Posting at those times can help boost posts. As do shitposts and things that follow with a current popular trend.

You're doin great man, don't ever think that you're not enough for doing the best you can! Your artwork is totally fine and uniquely you, so dont worry about making it different unless thats something you really wanna do, not something you feel like you have to ✨️
