Fireheart carrying on with his deputy shit while his clan is literally falling apart, his arch nemesis is on the loose, his leader is losing her mind, his nephew/apprentice constantly disobeys him, his crush gives him mixed signals, his best friend left the clan, and losing their home & some of their clan mates to a pack of rabid dogs AND a literal fire:

I find it super ironic that my first post is about shipping when that's already what all of fandom focuses on lmao.

Anyway I'm halfway through A Dangerous Path on my reread and I just cannot get behind Fireheart x Sandstorm. And it's on both of their ends.

Fireheart does not spare her a thought. He doesn't realize her affections until Cinderpelt points them out. After this he begins to see her as attractive, and shares meals and patrols sometimes, but his inner dialogue never views her as a close friend or someone to actually depend on like he does Graystripe and Cinderpelt.

Like he says when Cloupaw gets captured by twolegs, he feels he has no one left in ThunderClan, with Graystripe in Riverclan and Cinderpelt busy with med cat duties. And Sandstorm gets offended by this. Not hurt that her feelings aren't mutual, but angry at him and expecting him to make up for it.

And she continues to get angry and petty at him for not being the cat she wants. Sandstorm does have feelings for him, but she's so mean about it. When Fireheart discloses going behind Bluestar's back to prevent the battle with Windclan to all the warriors, she straight up recruits Dustpelt to bully him again for his actions. And all the other times she gets offended when he's busy and can't spend time with her. I just don't see any actual affection here.

I don't remember if a significant change happens in their interactions by the last book, but I just feel that they are not a good fit for each other lol

Rereading TPB books for fic research is such a weird experience, there's moments I've completely forgotten about over the years.

Like, the time Fireheart literally staged a mini coup because Bluestar was about to start a war with Windclan over literally nothing, how come we don't talk about that more

Also the plot in Dangerous Path is just Non Stop. Fireheart must be constantly exhausted, I just want this boy to get a single chapter of calm where everyone doesn't hate him

This is my first ever post on Tumblr! I love the communities here, and everyone friendliness.

My first drawing is of Firestar, and the prophecy surrounding him. I've never drew fire before so this was a good experiment for me!

I'm not completely happy with how Rusty turned out in the front of the picture, but that's okay! I'm still getting back into drawing after 2 years of art block haha, I've definitely found my art style after experimenting, and this piece was a really good opportunity for me to experiment with different brushes.

I think Firestar is an amazing character, people often think he's overrated because he's always tied to everything, but I don't think he is appreciated enough. No one else could've done what he did, and he really has the heart of a true warrior, more so than some of the other warriors in the books despite being born into a kittypet life.

I wonder where the clans would be without him?

I still find it funny about how much Tigerstar hates Firestar.

Like. It's so stupid it's funny.

Cause like. Baby Firepaw is 6 moons old or so when he joins ThunderClan. Two moons later he's made a warrior at 8. If we take 6 moons = 12 years, that means Tigerclaw was literally growling over this teenager for years.

One teenager pisses you off so you decide to obsessively dream about murdering him (canon), you train your sons to kill him (canon), you haunt his grandson throughout his life (canon), and then. and THEN.

And then you go out of your way to find this teenager-who-is-now-a-grown-man at the end of a fucking war and attempt to murder him then and there.

And you fail.

Nice going, buddy. Obsession ain't the best look on you, but I wouldn't have it any other way <3

(Sidenote: It's also funny that while Firestar is a constant in Tigerstar's brain, Tigerstar is not one in Firestar's. LMAO)
