thinking about some rough starker throat-fucking. tony's got both hands on peter's skull, so big that it engulfs practically his entire head. tony's fingers are tangled in peter's soft curls. peter can't move, can only take it as tony pumps his hips against his face. every thrust pushing a wet, choked up, gurgling sound from the back of peter's throat.
tony pulls back just for a moment, just to hear peter panting, gasping for air, eyes watery as they blink up at him, gorgeous and wide. and tony can't help himself. he shoves his cock back in roughly, making the boy whimper, hands scrabbling at tony's thighs. but oh he takes it so good. just lets tony use his mouth like a warm wet hole.

That's Just What Good Dick Does - A Starker Ficlet
A little 1.3k one-shot inspired by this ask sent to @starker-secrets . I hope you don't mind that I took this prompt and ran with it, anon.
Tumblr media
--
The girl – woman, really – moans like she’s being fucking paid for it. Loud, high-pitched, and unrelenting.
“Ohh… ohhh… oh, fuck yeah, right there… oh fuck, that’s so good… give it to me… ahh!”
It’s the kind of noisy shit that most guys would jerk their dicks furiously over on some grainy, shaky footage of your run-of-the-mill amateur pornstar being railed, posted on whatever free streaming website these guys would frequent because they’re too cheap to shill out on the good stuff.
“oh god… ohh… oh, yeah… nnngh, fuck!”
She’s moaning and gasping and panting and practically screaming. Her head is lolled to the side, mouth slack, almost drooling on what look like very expensive sheets. It looks totally fake, except Peter – and the whole world, really – knows that it isn’t. The face on screen that’s contorted in pleasure is one that’s very familiar, often gracing entertainment gossip channels and fashion magazines. Usually the socialite’s face is painted immaculately with make-up, posed in carefully sultry and demure expressions, overlaid with flattering filters and perfect lighting. But here in this leaked video, she’s stripped of all control, her face is warped in the kind of wild, naked bliss that could be nothing but genuine. She’s probably super humiliated by all this.
Peter imagines a lot of men would get off on that. But not him. To Peter, all that noise, all that face and all that body, huge bouncing tits and all, they’re just distracting him from what he really wants to watch from this video.
“Oh god, your cock… it’s so big… ohhh… ohh fuck Tony, it’s so deep in me… oh yeah… right there… right there, ahh!”
Peter huffs frustratedly, one hand still palming absently at his barely hard self. He wants to see that supposed “big cock”. He wants to see how fucking massive and beautiful and amazing that cock must be to make her look like that, sound like that. Peter knows that cock must be glorious, but he wants so desperately to see it.
A quick scan of the video tells Peter that he’ll never get to see a glimpse of that cock he so yearns for, even when it ends with the woman’s belly getting splattered with what looks like a generous amount of cum. Peter would have exited the video and opt for jerking off to his usual material – that particular magazine spread featuring the CEO and owner of Stark Industries all greasy and sweaty in a tank-top, biceps straining as he lifts something in his workshop. But under all the grating noises the woman is blaring in his earphones, Peter can pick up another voice in the background, deeper, masculine, rough with arousal and exertion.
“Mmm, you like that, don’t you… squeeze around me, baby… yeah, just like that…”
Tony Stark, the object of Peter’s teenage affections and lust, doesn’t make much noise in these leaked videos. But it’s enough to send the blood rushing to Peter’s dick so fast that he gets a little dizzy.
Peter takes his hand out of his sleep pants and wipes it distractedly on his bedcovers. He needs two hands to quickly open another application on his laptop and isolate that particular audio. He abandons the original video and turns up the volume on Tony Stark’s low, rumbly dirty talk.
Peter closes his eyes and takes in the only sounds from that leaked sex tape that he’s interested. He’s heard Tony Stark speak in all sorts of public events on TV. He knows exactly what the man sounds like, the confidence and charm in his voice a perfect match to his handsome face and muscular body. Now Peter knows what Tony Stark sounds like in lust. The man’s groans and low, heavy breathing are just as sexy as the rest of him.
Peter bites his lip, stifling a moan as he pumps his dick faster. His aunt is sleeping just down the hall and he can’t be as loud as the woman Tony Stark is fucking in the video. He’s only got the man’s voice filling him up and he already wants to scream out in pleasure. He can’t imagine what it must be like to have Tony Stark’s actual cock inside him. Oh god, that cock. He hasn’t even seen it but he knows it’s big. He knows it. He wants it so bad.
Tony Stark is grunting in his ear, whispering dirty, filthy things to him. Peter’s earphones make it sound like the man is right here in this dark bedroom with him. He can almost feel a phantom breath on his neck, praising him, crooning about how hot and wet and tight he is.
And then Peter learns what Tony Stark sounds like when he orgasms. A low, gorgeous sound, a heaving groan that’s so clear, so close to Peter’s ear that the boy can’t control his gasp as he cums, back arching in a taut line, toes curling as he jerks and spills all over his fist.
--
Several years later
“Slow down, sweetheart. I wanna take my time with you.”
Peter shivers. He’s masturbated countless times to the sound of that voice through his earphones but it’s got nothing on the real thing. Not when he’s also got actual lips nipping at his neck, that rasp of stubble on his skin telling him that this is actually happening to him. Peter is the one spread out on Tony Stark’s expensive sheets now, pinned to the mattress by the man’s broad weight, feeling that unmistakeable bulge between his legs.
“Fuck me, Daddy” Peter begs, breathless already. “Please. You’ve no idea how long I’ve wanted this.”
Tony chuckles. He sucks biting kisses on Peter’s neck, hands slipped under the younger man’s shirt, tweaking his nipples, making him cry out in pleasure.
“Yeah?” Tony trails his lips up Peter’s jaw until they’re kissing, open-mouthed and filthy. “Don’t worry, baby. I’ll give you what you want.”
Peter moans at the taste of Tony’s tongue. The man’s kisses are confident and dominating and Peter is helpless to it, swept up in the overwhelming sensations.
“This pretty mouth is so sweet,” Tony murmurs between kisses. “Wanna feel it on my cock. You wanna suck me off, baby boy?”
Peter is still dazed when Tony sits back on his knees. Through the haze of lust he registers the older man unzipping his pants to take out his cock.
“Oh my god,” Peter gasps, eyes fixed on Tony’s hard-on. “Oh my god, it’s even bigger than I imagined.”

It's a widely known and often memed statistic that Tony Stark has never dated anyone older than twenty-five-years old. The reliability with which all his relationships degrade within weeks of his partners' 25th birthday is truly comical to the entire internet-using world, except to two people: Tony Stark himself, and his current boyfriend, Peter Parker.
Peter knew of Tony's history upon entering a relationship with the older man, of course. He's Gen Z, born with the power of the internet in the palm of his hand. He was 21 when he first met 46-year-old Tony Stark. He knew he had an expiry date. But he was young and Tony was funny and smart and nice and so unbelievably hot. Peter could have a good time with him for however brief it may be.
Tony, on the other hand, was prepared to quit dating entirely when he was dumped yet again shortly after spending a small fortune on a diamond necklace for his ex's birthday. She was nice enough to try to give it back the night she left him, but he refused. Maybe she can sell it and use it towards the down payment for a house or whatever it is that "serious adults" do.
Because that's the thing the internet doesn't talk about, how people date Tony Stark for a good time and not for a long time. Oh it's fun to get invited to high society galas and travel to beautiful places around the world and be showered with lavish, expensive gifts. But when people decide it's time to settle down, make commitments, have a family, they don't want to do it with a man like Tony Stark.
Peter is too beautiful for Tony to resist, though. And as Tony got to know him - just how sweet, kind-hearted, and absolutely prodigy-level genius the young man is - Tony knows Peter is entirely too good for him to keep. Tony knows his heart will inevitably be broken again down the line, but hey, it's better to have loved and lost and all that.
Right?
It's a wonderful few years. Perfect, even.
Peter never imagined he would find the love of his life in his early twenties but here he is. Tony Stark's incredible body and insane stamina and big, fat bank account are great perks for sure. But it's his quirks, his passion, his work ethic, even his flaws that make Peter fall even deeper in love. It seems like the only flaw of Tony's that Peter can't get over is the fact that the man obviously prefers them young. And it's not something Peter can ever accept or change about himself. The thing about puppies is that they always grow into dogs.
Tony throws Peter the biggest 25th birthday party the city has ever seen. No expense was spared. Everyone was out to celebrate, family and friends inside the venue, even the vultures outside waiting for their breakup, jokes at the ready.
There's just one couple whose happiness was subdued. It's a melancholy that hovers over them like a stormcloud. Each bout of lovemaking feels like the last.
With every kiss Peter is saying, please let me stay.
With every touch Tony is saying, please don't go.
Tony is the one who caves. This has gone enough for too long. Either way, Peter will be the last person he'll ever be with, the last person he'll ever love.
The engagement ring is a vintage piece of gold that once adorned Tony's own late mother. Tony hopes against hope that it doesn't become yet another piece of jewelry to bookmark another heartbreak.
But Peter says yes. Of course, he says yes. Few people are lucky enough to find a love like he had. Even fewer had found it so quickly.
"I'm sorry I kept you waiting for so long," Peter says.
"It's worth it to finally find you," Tony says.
In the end, everyone is still right. Tony Stark has never dated anyone older than twenty-five-years old. But he will be married to one.

My #1 post of 2022
peter walks into the living room, wearing an oversize sweater with sleeves that fall past his wrists, tiny lil shorts and white socks, looking like the most adorable angel baby the world has ever seen.
"whatcha lookin' for, daddy?" he asks tony.
"my pen rolled under the couch," tony grumbles. "i can't reach it." his hand doesn't fit in the crevice between the couch and floor.
"here, let me," peter says.
and tony thinks peter is gonna reach under there with his much more slender arms.
but instead peter, adorable sweater paws and all, just deadass lifts the whole couch and unearths tony's errant pen from under there.
"there you go," peter hands it over cheerfully to a fully gaping tony.
with how smol and cute peter is, sometimes tony forgets he has super strength.

Physical Magazine and Book Research
Week 2/3/5
I forgot to put some research I had done in for my process book and Magazine, and some research I have recently done.
Week 2/3
Courier: work better, live smarter, be happier. | Couriermedia
I have seen their magazine before and I liked it because of the bright colours and interactive pages like sticker sheets and different paper textures. With my magazine it won't have different textures but I can do that in my process book instead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
British Vogue - Fashion, Trends, Latest News, Catwalk Photos & Designers | British Vogue
Vogue is just a timeless magazine that is always a good reference, however, it doesn't target 18-25 year olds really, that age range do read Vogue but other magazines are probably more popular or interesting.
Tumblr media
How to Read Greek Sculpture | The Met Store (metmuseum.org)
I just looked at The Met's book about Greek Sculpture to see if they had any interesting ideas on how to layout their book. It seems pretty simple so I might not use much of their ideas in my project.
Current Archaeology - Britain's favourite archaeology magazine
Tumblr media
Again, just to see what other competitors are doing, it is all just quite plain and simple, but I would like it to be more intriguing for my target audience, so that younger people can become more interested in older art.
Week 5/6
After the London Trip and some of Hannah's feedback, I had a look at the V&A's website and publications. The website is bold and modern, however the book doesn't reflect that I don't think. Most sculpture books relatively the same.
Tumblr media
V&A Exhibition & Special Edition Books | V&A Shop (vam.ac.uk)
Sculpture - A publication of the International Sculpture Center (sculpturemagazine.art)
This is a more interesting front cover for sculpture and definitely caught my eye. This might be a good reference for my own cover. The font is sans serif and has lots of colour, which isn't something my magazine has, but maybe should have?
Tumblr media
Dazed & Confused Magazine | Fashion, Art, Music, Film, Ideas | Dazed (dazeddigital.com)
Dazed is a classic 18-25 year old magazine, its fun, intriguing and looks sleek all in one. The title especially is bold and clear, the cover does not have much on it, but just title's of the main article of person the issue is about. I think I might go with this more stripped down look, one photo that explains the article and the title.
Tumblr media
These images are from Tank, I picked them out as they each had the contrapposto pose that the Greek's loved to use in their own sculptures.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have previously included these images in my sketchbook work, to compare the modern and ancient models.

The Future of Retail
Retail companies are a customer-focused business. They need to constantly think of ways to not only satisfy but also enhance the customer experience. Covid-19 has impacted the retail industry immensely and it has resulted in permanent changes. The retail industry is rushing to adapt and keep pace with these changes and implement solutions quickly.
According to experts, “Automation will reshape retail business models and the broader value chain, creating organizations with fewer layers and a better trained and trusted workforce, empowered by real-time data and analytics. The winners in this sector will be those who understand these implications and act quickly to address them.”[1]
Let us look at some of the major changes the retail industry has had to adapt to in this post-pandemic scenario.
Tumblr media
Customers have moved online
Social distancing, lockdowns, and limited physical contact have forced customers to move online. Covid-19 has substantially contributed to the online shopping trend that had already begun to gain momentum pre-Covid. With large numbers of customers now using the internet, convenience has been the guiding mantra to win online customers as retail moves online.
Retailers have to ensure that they are present where the customer is. They have to work towards providing a great buying experience for their customers. They have to make it convenient for customers to buy from them at each touch point.
Retailers should aim to provide an amazing customer experience. Once we open-up post-pandemic, these new changes will remain prominent. They will act as new benchmarks for customer expectations and consumer experiences.  Those retailers who are able to ace this challenge and provide a good, convenient, and hassle-free buying experience to their customers, will be the go-to retailer for them.
Omni-channel presence is the future
As mentioned earlier, online shopping has become mainstream. Most retailers who initially were present only in brick-and-mortar stores have moved online either through strategic alliances or by investing in their own digital pursuits, understanding that they have to approach their customers through different channels.
As a retailer, focus has to be on providing a delightful customer experience on all these different channels. Retailers have to analyze multiple omnichannel touch points and ensure that there are no bottlenecks or obstacles that will prevent their customers from coming back to them.
Investing in an ERP that has got a tight integration and communication between multiple channels of commerce such as e-commerce websites, e-commerce mobile applications, a dynamic POS System, a chat application/chat bot, customer care, social media & many more channels can result in better sales & bottom lines.[2]
The important part is to replicate the experience a customer would have had, in the offline world. This is possible by having effective systems in place that can handle returns, refunds, changes in orders placed and everything else that was possible when shopping was done from a physical store. Omnichannel retailing, allows all of this.  In addition, customers can gain a unified experience across online and offline platforms.
Physical stores are now moving towards showcasing displays for various products rather than being commerce centers. There will be some products that will require personal consultation or guidance. A customer is now able to check the product online, try it at the local store, place the order online and get the product delivered at home by the local store. These facilities will continue even post-pandemic. [2]
E-Commerce is the need of the hour
E-Commerce was progressing at a good pace before the pandemic too. The pandemic has fast-tracked the transition of consumers, as well as companies, online.
Companies not having any digital presence have to go online or run the risk of perishing. They have to invest in last-mile delivery options. They have to ensure that they adopt systems like contactless payments, contactless delivery, and so on.
More importantly, more people started buying online because of restrictions in movement and as a business; companies have to be present where their customer is. Customers will buy online, and if you are not there in front of them, they will buy from your competitor. Hence, e-Commerce as a channel is now as critical for a retailer to stay in business just as oxygen is for a human being to survive.
Safer in-store experiences are a must
Retailers will have to invest in and provide a safer shopping experience for those shoppers who visit their stores. They will have to invest in ensuring better hygiene standards in-store. People are now more conscious (in some cases even obsessed) about health and hygiene due to the pandemic.
Retailers will have to ensure that they gain the trust of in-store shoppers by making sure that they provide them with a safe and hygienic environment. This is not just keeping a store clean; this is communicating properly with customers that the brand cares about their health and safety at all times.
Diversifying the supply chain is the key to mitigating risks
When Covid-19 hit the world, many retailers and their supply chain were under tremendous strain. Businesses that were overly dependent on one or two suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, etc., were severely crippled.
As retailers did not get their product on time, they faced huge losses, and sadly some of them couldn’t sustain the financial burden and had no option but to shut down.
Many businesses now understand that over dependence on a single supplier resource can be detrimental to business growth. Businesses should consider diversifying to ensure that similar unforeseen circumstances do not impact their business severely. Diversifying will also help them mitigate risks and reduce loss of business due to stock outs, with resulting impact to the bottom line.
Digital transformation is a necessity and not an option
Retailers have to invest in technology. They have to accept that digital transformation is a necessary for their business to survive in this post-pandemic market.
Services like contactless payments, contactless delivery, payment gateways, book online pick-up at store options, online product brochures, online consultations, online advertisements, etc., are multiple avenues where retailers will have to make investments. Whether you are a small mom and pop store or a big-box retailer, you will have to invest in digital transformation to stay relevant and competitive.
To remain competitive in this global market with sustainable margins, retail business owners need to adopt new tools.  Technology to ensure that the entire business is on a single platform with scalability is the best choice for the business owner.
With retail ERP, demand forecasting is possible. It helps companies track past trends and see forecasting reports that help identify future demands easily. It also gives companies accurate figures, so data is highly reliable and can be used effectively to make key decisions. [3]
The success of a retail company, as mentioned earlier, is directly proportionate to customer satisfaction. Retailers must therefore constantly think of ways to keep customers happy and coming back for more.
ERP for Retail can help
Manage the supply chain merchandise with multiple levels of product categories.
Manage Trade and Non-Trade Payables.
Provide comprehensive analytics on inventory, cash flow and margins.
Have a robust presence across all the channels of retail.
Keep track on consumers, their preferences, their buying patterns, their influencers through data analytics.
Quantify the quality aspects of the brand.
Integrate seamlessly with POS systems that allow companies to report stock and summary transactions daily.[3]
Besides POS, ERPs can be easily integrated with different pieces of software. The amalgamation of disparate pieces of software facilitates the movement of data quickly, easily, and accurately from one end of the retail process to the other. This enables managers and users make better decisions (based on data and facts and not guesswork). [3]
One of the best aspects of an ERP is its reporting system. This is what allows management to gain control over all departments. It typically ranges from product planning, development, manufacturing, sales and marketing of a product in a single application. You can always know your profit and loss, and your company balance sheet will be at your fingertips. [3]

Canning corn, Use a pressure canner for safety.
Canning Corn
Canning corn is a great way to preserve your harvest.   Some people love it... some don't.  Personally, I like the flavor of home canned corn too. Canning corn from your own garden or locally grown is still better than store bought.
Tumblr media
Many people also prefer the taste of frozen corn. For these reasons freezing corn is another great preserving option.  I do some of each because my family prefers the frozen over canned.  But I love the convenience of canned!
We have a wonderful variety of sweet corn that is grown around here called Olathe Sweet Corn. It is so good and sweet, they have a festival weekend dedicated to corn. This weekend includes concerts and all you can eat corn on the cob.  If you are working with a sweet corn  don't be surprised if it comes out a deep golden color. This sometimes happens with the sweeter varieties.
Corn does take a bit more work than some other foods. It is not hard, but it has a processing time of 1 hr and 25 minutes for quarts and 55 minutes for pints. Compared to other produce this is a long time.
Prepare
Gather your canning supplies
Corn
Canning Salt - optional
You will need about 32 pounds (in husks) of sweet corn per canner load of 7 quarts; an average of 20 pounds is needed per canner load of 9 pints.
Canning Corn Procedure
Pick your corn. Corn should be fresh picked and ripe.
Get your corn huskers to work! Make sure they do their best to get all the hair off. Games make this task fun. Challenge them to see who can husk the most ears. Here's a tip; for mess control.... husking can be done outside.
While the corn is being husked, start boiling water. Either in a large stockpot or your blancher.
Place in boiling water for 2 minutes and remove with tongs. If you are using a blancher the tongs are obviously not necessary.
Cool immediately in a sink or large bowl of ice-cold water.
A blancher works well or just use a large stock pot.
You do not want to cook the corn just blanch it. I find it easier to cut it off the cob this way. I read that many people skip this blanching step.  Since this corn will be processed in a pressure canner you can skip the blanching step if you prefer.
Cut the kernels from the cob.
Let the cobs cool. Set it on end and run your knife down the sides cutting off the kernels.
Try not to cut into the cob. I aim for getting off about 3/4 of the kernel.
The kernels will stick together in little strips and look like this.
I use a large cookie sheet to catch the kernels; a large flat dish like a cake pan would also work.
This can get messy too. The corn tends to squirt. Do it in an area that will be easy clean up. I have a big island in the center of my kitchen that I use. I LOVE easy clean up!
Tips; Use an electric knife; I've never done this but it sounds like a great idea.
Another Tip - Use a Bunt pan, set your corn on end on the centerpiece and let the kernels fall into the pan. I've tried this and it seems awkward to me. I list it here because I have seen others rave about doing it this way. Try it you may just like it.
Here is a video of my husbands cool cutting the kernels off the cob time saver.  He is using a tool that is called a corn stripper.   I do not have a brand name on ours and it is a vintage tool that has been around for years.  If you do a search on Amazon you'll see some that are similar.
Close up of the blade on this corn stripper.  Check your local farm store for similar cutters. It is an invaluable tool when canning corn, dehydrating, pickling.  Anytime you want to get a lot of cobs stripped use one of these.
Tumblr media
While the corn is being husked and the corn is cut off, go ahead and get your canner and canning jars ready.
Optional add salt to the jars. ½ tsp. per pint, 1 tsp. per quart. Salt is for seasoning purposes only.
After the kernels are off the cob, pack into clean canning jars.
When canning corn you can either raw-pack or hot pack. Since I have already blanched my corn, I prefer raw pack. Here are directions for both
Raw pack; pack lightly into hot jars and add boiling water, leaving 1 inch head space.
Hot pack; simmer kernels for 5 minutes, then pack into jars.  Top off with cooking water leaving 1 inch head space.
Fill jars, leaving 1-inch head space.  Be sure and wipe the rims of your jars clean so there will be no food particles to interfere with the seal.
Place your canning lids on and finally add your screw bands.  Place in a pressure canner to process.
Process in a pressure canner.
Always use a pressure canner when canning corn.
pints - process for 55 minutes
quarts - process for 1 hour 25 minutes

Do you like Creamed Corn?  Try this.
Here’s a quick easy way to make a cream style corn from regular kernel corn.  home canned corn, frozen, or store bought, it doesn’t matter.  This is not for canning, rather it is how I make creamed corn when I open the jars.
Heat corn to simmer.  Simmer for 10 minutes if you wish.  Remove 1/2 of the corn to a blender add 1/2 cup or so of cream.  Half and half, evaporated milk or other cream of your choice works.  I usually have half and half on hand.  Puree.
Add back with corn add butter and salt to taste heat and serve.
Canning Corn Questions from my inbox.
When pressure canning corn, do I really have to process that long?
Canning Corn processing question.
Hello, I'm a long time canner/freezer/preserver type of girl. In the past I've always put my corn up in the freezer, because that's the way mom and gran do it.
But the garden is gang busters this year and even with a new freezer, there isn't going to be room for all of it.
Anyway I called gran and borrowed mom's steam pressure canner and canned up the first few batches of corn. I followed the directions in the Ball Blue Book and let the thing chick-chick for 55 minutes.
However the corn has darkened quite a bit and some of the water in the jar is gone as well. So I've gone on-line to get more info.
Both gran and mom say 55 mins is too long and they only ever steam theirs for 25 minutes.
I'm filding conflicting directions on line too, I've found websites indicating times anywhere from 25 to 55 minutes. I don't want to poison my family, but I would love it if that 25 minute time was a possibility.
This is a hard question. And I have been asked it in a myriad of ways. Can I do it the 'old' way? Many of the questions posed to me point out that either moms or grandmothers did things different. And I certainly don't like contradicting our elders... often they have great wisdom!
However, The answer is: You take a risk by doing it the 'old' way. You have to make that decision yourself. Personally I decided to just follow the recommended guidelines and have that peace of mind. The processing times I give on my site are all taken from safe sources.  My most used source is the National Center for Home Preservation.  Some directions are from the Ball Blue Book.
The good news is.... it is not unusual for canning corn to turn golden colored. Mine often is a darker color. From my research it is because it is a very sweet variety. My corn never tastes over cooked.
As far as the liquid loss. That is ok too. You want to avoid it, but it will not hurt your corn unless it is extreme. Liquid loss is often caused by taking your jars out of the canner too quickly.
Leave the jars in your canner for a couple of minutes before removing. Open the canner and then wait 3 or 4 minutes. This gives the jars a chance to cool slightly. When it is cooling the contents will be shrinking and not swelling so that may help you keep more liquid in your jars.
Another question on processing time.
Tumblr media
Sharon, I was reading canning corn and noticed that it takes 1hr-25min to do a batch. Why does it take so much longer with corn and beans to process. Thank you.
Answer - It all has to do with the acidity of the food. I've used the times recommended by the USDA. They test the foods and determine the length of processing necessary for eliminating the risk of botulism. Corn is more starchy than other vegetables so I'd assume the acidity levels are different as well. Also corn has more natural sugar.
Here are a few pages that might interest you.
Botulism A severe, sometimes fatal food poisoning caused by ingestion of food containing botulin.
Canning methods Which Canning methods to use? Is my food high acid or low acid? Should I process in a water bath canner or pressure canner? Why? That is a common question ~ and a good one....

The civics test for US naturalization
Among the requirements that all immigrants must meet to become a naturalized US citizen is a civics test covering US history and government. The test contains 100 questions, 10 of which are verbally posed by a Citizenship and Immigration Services officer...no multiple choice. Applicants must answer 6 out of 10 correctly to pass. The questions include:
What is the supreme law of the land? What is freedom of religion? What stops one branch of government from becoming too powerful? The House of Representatives has how many voting members? What is the name of the President of the United States now? Under our Constitution, some powers belong to the states. What is one power of the states? What are two ways that Americans can participate in their democracy? The Federalist Papers supported the passage of the U.S. Constitution. Name one of the writers. When must all men register for the Selective Service? Name one war fought by the United States in the 1800s. What was one important thing that Abraham Lincoln did? Why does the flag have 13 stripes? Before he was President, Eisenhower was a general. What war was he in? Name one of the two longest rivers in the United States. Name two national U.S. holidays.
You can take a 20-question multiple choice test on the USCIS website or if you want to see how many you can answer out of 100 with no multiple choice, I knocked up a Google Sheets version here -- access is read-only but you can make a copy and take the test by choosing File / Make a copy... from the menu. Here's a full list of the questions and suggested answers to check your work. Without studying, some of the questions are more difficult than you'd think, particularly if your last political science and American history classes were 25 years ago in high school.
And like all tests, this one is imperfect.1 In 2001, Dafna Linzer wrote about her test-taking experience.
Then there is Question 12: What is the "rule of law"?
I showed it to lawyers and law professors. They were stumped.
There are four acceptable answers: "Everyone must follow the law"; "Leaders must obey the law"; "Government must obey the law"; "No one is above the law."
Judge Richard Posner, the constitutional scholar who serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals in Chicago, was unhappy. "These are all incorrect," he wrote me. "The rule of law means that judges decide cases 'without respect of persons,' that is, without considering the social status, attractiveness, etc. of the parties or their lawyers."
The Simpsons lampooned this aspect of the test in 1996 when Apu answered a question about the Civil War2 during his civics test.
Examiner: "Alright, here's your last question: What was the cause of the Civil War?"
Apu: "Actually there were numerous causes. Aside from the obvious schism between the abolitionists and the anti-abolitionists, economic factors both domestic and international..."
Examiner: "Hey, hey..."
Apu: "Yep?"
Examiner: "Just... just say 'slavery'".
Apu: "Slavery it is, sir."
This would never happen in a million years, but I would love for someone to sit down with Donald Trump to see how many of these he could answer. Like I said, if you haven't studied, some of the questions are not that easy. But surely the President of the United States should be able to get almost all of them correct...
I was always good at tests in school because I learned early on the difference between the correct answer and the answer you're supposed to give. Most of the time, they're the same but not always.↩
The question from the actual test reads "Name one problem that led to the Civil War" and the three suggested answers are "slavery", "economic reasons", and "states' rights".↩

Bournemouth vs Manchester City Preview: Pep Guardiola’s side look to get back on track
Eddie Howe & # 39; s cherries may shrink to face Manchester City .
The total Premier League score between the two parties is 25-3 for the champions and Bournemouth failed to win one of the 14 games (W0 D2 L12) .
But the sun shines that little bit brighter on the south coast after a 2-1 win at Aston Villa last weekend in stark contrast to the anger felt in Manchester the VAR dragged a late winner away from them against Tottenham .
Guardiola had a few days to sit in a darkened room mumbling about herself about the new handball laws. Watch out for the kickback.
The side of Pep Guardiola wants get back on track after dropping points against Tottenham
BOURNEMOUTH: All eyes on the bogeyman – Raheem Sterling
The Bournemouth back four should wake up this week in the cold sweat and thinking of facing Sterling again.
He started the season on fire with a hat-rick against West Ham and a goal against Spurs, but he must lick his lips at the prospect of Howe & # 39; s men.
The recent record of the English winger against the Cherries is phenomenal.
Sterling is directly involved in 10 goals in only seven Premier League games against them (8 goals, 2 assists).
Triple captain in his fantasy team, sell everyone to get him in there, he is Bournemouth's bogeyman. Having said all this, Guardiola will now start Mahrez instead.
Raheem Sterling is the man who must stop for Bournemouth because he has a great record against them
Bournemouth was bitterly disappointed by a late Billy Sharp goal who denied them three points on the opening day but had packed their first three points of the season are now in use.
Fans at Vitality Stadium will be eager to review Harry Wilson after the Liverpool loan and open his account for the club at Villa Park.
Howe has built a team with a lot of talent and attacking skill to complicate opposition, but you think it is Nathan Ake, Steve Cook and the rear-guard who would be heroes if Bournemouth City first beats team in the Premier League.
Four points from their first two-game is sufficiently solid, but three points against the champions would really ignite the campaign.
Harry Wilson scored his first goal for the club against Aston Villa last weekend
MANCHESTER CITY: how often does City drop points twice in succession?
Guardiola & # 39; s well-oiled football machine looked at its best against Tottenham, but the well-known stomach-caring combination of a guided Spurs goal when late VAR intervention stole the headlines.
The favorites of the titles will be about to correct that result and Bournemouth could feel the heat of a recoil.
Guardiola knows how to beat them, he really only has a better record against West Ham and Malaga (100 percent win rate), so unless Howe evokes a tactical surprise, it should go the same way.
Another huge slap in the positive column for City is Bruyne's return to Kevin's form.
Kevin de Bruyne looks razor sharp against Spurs and its shape is a huge bonus for City
So often plagued by injuries last season, he looked back to his best against Spurs and will be the man who dictates the game for the Sunday away game.
The rapier-like pass from the Belgian offers a more direct threat than City can pose if he is not in the team and gives opponents something to think about.
Another more interesting plot is that the Man Guardiola chooses to start in the front after his confrontation with Sergio Aguero.
It was probably just a little peroxide that was posted by the Argentinian after it was replaced by Gabriel Jesus, but the replacement looked sharp and could be kinked.
Only a win for City with Liverpool and Spurs are looking good to take on a challenge this season.
Predicted line-ups
[1945902] Predicted start of Bournemouth XI: Ramsdale, Smith, Cook, Aké, Daniels, Wilson, Billing, Lerma, Fraser, King, Wilson
]
Man City & # 39; s predicted start XI: Ederson, Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi, Laporte, Zinchenko, Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan, Silva, Jesus, Sterling
What do the bookmakers say?
Bournemouth are huge 12/1 outsiders to win and there is not much value if you want to put your money on City, they are 1/5 to win.
Sterling is 14/1 to score more than once and given his recent record against the Cherries, which could be of great value.
Who says what?
Howe van Bournemouth about Wilson: & he looked like he was in the team, he got balls between the lines. The Premier League is such a high level, it will be a very difficult challenge, but it has certainly started very well. & # 39;
Fernandinho of Man City about playing with his new teammate Rodri: & # 39; We are going to work closely together, and I will be there for him to talk and advise him with everything he needs, but of course he is already a quality player that I really enjoy.
& # 39; He did very well in the preseason and in the first few games he played in the Premier League & # 39 ;, he told the club's website.
MAIN FACTS:
Bournemouth has 13 of their last 15 Premier League games against & # 39; big six & # 39; opposition (W2) lost, with both wins in this run to the Vitality Stadium (4 -0 v Chelsea in January and 1-0 v Spurs in May)
Man City has won their last eight away games Premier League against teams on the south coast, since losing 2-4 against Southampton in May 2016.
Bournemouth has never held a zero sheet in their 21 previous Premier League games on a Sunday, with 56 goals in total (W3 D2 L16). Their only two home victories on Sunday in the top flight were against & # 39; big six & # 39; parties (4-3 v Liverpool and 2-1 v Arsenal).
None of the last 16 away games of Man City have ended – with the Citizens winning 13, including the last eight in a row (L3).
Callum Wilson did not score in one of his last five Premier League home games for Bournemouth, took 469 minutes and took 15 shots since his last goal at Vitality Stadium.
Man City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has so far assisted 49 goals in his 122 Premier League matches – the least number of matches taken to help 50 goals in the history of the league is played by Mesut Özil (141 games).

Assignment 1 – Lecturer’s Hints and Tips
What follows is an overview of Assignment One with comments on how you might approach it.  The primary purpose of this assignment is for you to get an overall understanding of the breadth of the topic, AND for you to find some relevance or relationship to your own situation.  I have found that people who understand how creativity and innovation relates to their own situation are more successful in making innovation happen.  Good Luck.
Is Creativity & Innovation important to individual or organizational success?
If you believe it is then you may like to consider the following…
How do we define creativity and innovation?
What’s the difference between them?
Where does one end and the other begin?
Can you have one without the other? What would be the result if you did?
Where does intra/entrepreneurship fit in?
What are examples of people, organizations, or products/services etc. you believe are innovative, and why do you believe they are. What type(s) of innovation do they display or use to be successful?
In addition the following questions may raise your interest…
Is it important that we have ‘creative’ people in our business?
Are creative people born or developed – nature or nurture?
What examples do we have of creative genius – and what makes them creative?
Should we try to find and hire creative geniuses?
Should we reward creativity and innovation, and if so how might we do that?
What is your experience in this area?
Assignment 1 Individual Essay (30%)
Each participant is required to submit an essay based on an exploration of the nature of creativity and innovation – how these are defined, what academics and others say about them, what their own experiences are, and how they might apply the insights they gain from reading material on these topics.  The assignment report should be a document of 2000-2500 words and should include a Mind Map® overview and Executive Summary.  The topic will relate to the theory and practice of creativity and innovation in an organisational setting and will require participants to research the current body of knowledge in the area and present a case based on their research.
The assessment criteria are outlined in the course description.
This assignment asks you to explore around the concepts of Creativity and Innovation.  The approach to undertaking the task is purposely open to interpretation – much like the concepts involved.  Our aim is to invite you to research, explore and hopefully discover what creativity and innovation mean to you, your situation and your entrepreneurial or career aspirations – based on what has been done and learnt by many others.  There is no ‘right’ answer to the assignment, but we believe the subject is an important one that entrepreneurs and leaders need to be abreast of.  This is a chance to explore what is likely to be the differentiating factor for business in coming years.  We anticipate that you could spend 20-30 hours working on this, including the reading and web-searching, and if you do you will almost certainly be rewarded with some interesting insights.
We enjoy reading the reports we get back from participants, as no two are alike.  How boring it would be to read papers that all covered the same stuff!  In the past most papers were laid out in standard essay form, and many had summaries in Mind Map form, which is what we ask for.  A couple were presented in alternative formats, such as cartoon story book and a video, and these were fun – although content is our primary interest.  Some people focus on the creativity aspect, with people and thinking as a central topic, while others look more at organisational innovation effort.  Most participants go well beyond the set of readings we make available, and those that do score much better than those that simply cut and pasted information and wrap it up with a brief summary.  The reports we like are those that surprise us with new and/or controversial information.
We also look for you to find links to your own situation, or for you to challenge views held by ‘experts’ based on your own experiences.
In written comments on your reports we try to only give Yellow Hat comments, because each of you will learn something of value – sometimes significant, sometimes small. In grading the papers I use the criteria in the grading sheet but in general I look for….
A clear focus on what you are trying to achieve with the report, and whether or not you went beyond what is asked for in the instructions. The research aspect is wide open and we hope to see you start with the reading references we give you, but that you then go beyond this into areas more specific to your area of interest.
The assignment is wide open to individuality, and here we really invite you to pursue diverse and sometimes contradictory views held by ‘experts’. Are you posing questions that demand further exploration and then following them through?  We would like you to find a relationship to your own experience.  Do this by building on your research and reflect these onto your personal experiences.  Don’t just give us your opinions.  We value these, but without reference to something they remain just opinion.  Make a connection with the research and see what you learn about yourself, those you work with and your business interests.  Keep this top of mind as you write.
I also consider the quality and richness of your thinking and the layout of the report. We want to see you presented your thinking well in a building and interesting way.  We expect to see good referencing and that grammar and spelling is checked and the report is easy to navigate.  Written communication is a skill all leaders must have, so at least use your spell-checker.
The issue of what Creativity and Innovation means to different people, organisations, and situations is clearly a tough one to pin down, but you will likely agree that trying to understand it better gives you an insight into running a business better.  This is a chance to see the wide diversity in what Creativity and Innovation mean to different companies and ‘experts’.  At its base though is creative thinking and this is even more difficult of define and engage.  In our view at the source of creativity is the human being with a genius brain that can be left to radiate somewhat aimlessly or directed with discipline and purpose in the pursuit of new ideas, new concepts, and new answers.
Can you have Innovation without Creativity?  Can people be more creative through the use of thinking tools? Can the human brain be used better, more creatively?  Where does learning, artistry, memory, experience, education etc. come in?  Do we have the desire, the discipline, the skills to think better?  These are questions we believe entrepreneurs need to explore.  We urge you to keep looking, reading, exploring and experimenting well beyond this assignment.
References
With References, please be clear in your report on what is a direct quote or reference, what is paraphrasing, and what are your own insights, being sure to correctly reference these in the report and in the Reference Appendix.  If you need help with referencing in the Fed Uni style there are links available on Moodle under Student Information & Support (Right Side Column).
Doing this assignment, you will have scanned and read a lot of articles, websites, videos etc. but in your Reference List please clearly list those you actually use in your paper.  We often see a long list of 25 or more references in reports, but most are not used in the report.
If you feel it is important to also indicate what other articles etc. you’ve reviewed that didn’t feature in your final report you can list those separately under a suitable title (E.G. Other information reviewed).
Lastly, remember to submit your assignment via Moodle – don’t leave it in Draft form there, as we are only notified when it is fully submitted. It is to be submitted by midnight on the day before the it is due, or as instructed by your lecturer.  Be sure to include a signed Uni Cover Sheet
Lastly, just check with your Lecturer to see if she/he would like you to, if possible, also bring to class a printed copy.  Some lecturers prefer to provide comments on the marking sheet, rather than via Moodle, and will often give overall feedback to the entire class, as many comments are common to many people and everything can be a good lesson.
