Why isn't anyone talking about Willow (2022) it's actually gay it's like legit gay it's canon gay IT'S REALLY ACTUALLY GAY AND IT'S A LIVE ACTION DISNEY SHOW

Anytime they have a character who casually mentions/insinuates non heteronormativity they tout it as "Disney's first openly gay character" and then we actually get it and it's nowhere (or they cancel it *cough cough* owl house *cough cough*). You find out about it because it's a thumbnail on an app (and then you go looking at the "Pride" section of Disney plus which is actually really fucking ironic and see it there and decide to give it a shot)

Ask me what it's about it's sword lesbians. Sword lesbians and magic that's all you need to know

The only really sad thing about Saphrin and Astarion's relationship is the fact that after hearing all of Astarion's backstory and personally helping him get rid of Cazador, Saphrin would probably never tell him about his traumatic ass past, because from his point of view he comparatively 'had it better' than a man who was tortured and abused for 200 years. Not that he'd need to do it, obviously, I'm talking about the general attitude to that sort of thing: if he was kinda willing to at least allude to something bad that happened to him before the whole tadpole shebang, by the end of the game he would clam up completely and avoid even insinuating that some things make him uncomfortable due to his past. 

The only way I can see him even remotely addressing it is if Astarion were to ever meet Elendar, Saphrin's best friend, who played a big role in his healing process after Saphrin just left the Lolthite society. It would go something like "Darling, why did your friend just pull me into a dark corner and say he'll disintegrate me with Eilistraee's holy light if I ever make you sad?"

Amazing the way in which heterosexuality is defined by patriarchy. There presumably must be real life situations in which a somewhat good-natured IT assistant guy flutters around a reserved older woman who runs marathons and has a high-paying technical job. Or so on and so forth. But you’d never find any evidence of woman-man romances in fictional works that ever flip the age personality etc dynamics from the gendered expectations
