I'm still thinking about how ashamed I was (and am) with being open about my pain because I am so young. It's so hard to feel worthy of having your pain taken seriously when the people around you insist that young bodies are always in pristine, untouched condition and that you must earn your pain through aging. Never is it considered that young people aren't lying or being a hypochondriac for expressing their pain.
Young people can be in life-altering pain. Young people can have debilitating pain. It doesn't matter what age it happens because pain doesn't discriminate. Complaining about pain and doing things to prevent needless pain aren't something you have to "earn" through aging.
If you want young people to be in less or lesser pain, then encourage them to do whatever they can to minimize it. Don't downplay what they're experiencing. Not everything is a lie, not every experience that is different than yours is exaggeration or deceit.

hey. turns out i likely have idiopathic condylar resorption, a degenerative joint disease that causes progressive/rapid bone loss in the jaw. i've had it since i was a kid but went undiagnosed for over a decade; my severe functional issues, pain, and other symptoms were repeatedly dismissed by doctors for years. my mandibular condyles have deteriorated, my jaw is slowly shrinking to the point where i look unrecognizable, and none of my teeth touch anymore. the pain is increasing more and more by the day. it's extremely difficult to breathe, eat, talk, sleep, and exist.
this is a progressive condition, so nothing will stop it or slow it down until the joints have been completely eaten away. my only option is a total temporomandibular joint replacement, where the two diseased joints that literally hold my face together are removed and permanently replaced with metal prostheses. aka a major surgery with a 6-12 month recovery 😃

Thinking again about the new version of Shang Tsung and the contradict source material about his living condition (poverty forcing him to cheat his way out of it as a means of survival vs his own laziness and dislike of honest work that leads him to scheming and cheating) finally made me to realize the most weird part of Liu Kang’s choice and surprisingly, it is not about making his former enemy to live this or that kind of live but making him Outworlder in the first place.
I mean, Kitana and Mileena are already living for ten thousand years, still pretty young and strong and all. And even if the Royal Family’s life span is related to divine forces, I don’t think there is any source saying that other Edenians don’t live longer than the average human from Earthrealm. Same with other Outworld species? Like Shokan. Goro was a champion of Mortal Kombat for a few hundred years at least. Queen Sheeva was a long-lived guard (and friend) of Queen Sindel in MK11 before the woman was killed and when Kitana was a baby herself.
Why make Shang Tsung one of Outworld inhabitants when Liu Kang could easily put him in Earthrealm at any given time and if he didn’t piss off someone enough to kill him much earlier, the man would be the trouble for what? 80 years? Maybe 100, give and take? What is a hundred years for a literal immortal god? One blink of an eye and surprise surprise, Shang Tsung is just a bad memory, his soul tucked safely in the afterlife and Liu Kang’s conscience clear.
And if for some reasons Fire Lord still thought the man could be redeemed, Liu Kang could easily reincarnate him and repeat the process until he straighten Shang Tsung’s moral backbone or dunno, reincarnate him as a snake and let him be venom all he wants somewhere far away from any human being. A win-win solution, if you ask me.
But sure, let's give a long life span to a person that is most likely to fuck up things at the first opportunity. Very smart.

omg reverse riko au is making me feel so ill..... please let us know if you have any more thoughts abt riko kayleigh and kevin legend.....
I DO my idea is that its around the same age kevin and riko met in canon so tetsuji kicks the bucket when riko is 7/8 and riko is (very forcibly) removed from the nest and sidelined to kayleigh as a new moriyama asset from the main branch takes over the nest. riko struggles a lot with the change because he is very young and very scared and he’s used to horrible things at tetsuji’s hand, which means that he doesn’t trust kayleigh and finds kevin entirely too weird. it’s honestly really cute because i think at this point obviously 7 year old kevin wants to befriend him but riko is such an anxious ball of anger that most of their interactions are like
baby riko: what do you WANT from me. go AWAY!!!! NOW
baby kevin: (heavy irish accent) nothing i think. do you want a bite of my sandwich?
anyway i think riko and kayleigh do get along but he never really considers her his mother or even godmother, for a long time he thinks of her as his Benefactor until the child therapy starts hitting and she becomes Aunt Kayleigh and then after a few more years he can be loosely convinced to refer to her as auntie once or twice a year. his second son syndrome never really leaves him; in the upcoming years riko struggles with the idea that he’s anything But an add-on to the days and still overworks himself to death trying to be acknowledged by kengo, but it’s leaps better just from being outside the nest and having people to look out for him
riko and kevin have some rough patches, especially during riko’s first years with the days. because kevin is an easy target and riko is afraid of kayleigh he ends up letting a lot of that anger out on kevin, though obviously at this point they are children and riko’s anger manifests in some mild bullying and name calling. i think kevin doesn’t even understand it most of the time 😭 riko has been around grown ups his entire life so his adult level insults make no sense to kevin’s seven year old mind. nevertheless after kayleigh tells him to stop picking on kevin riko does respect it (first out of fear, then later because they actually get along) and they go on to become brothers with only a slight tendency towards antagonism. riko’s jealousy of kevin is still a big part of their relationship and i think even more so when college applications roll around, and he’s even more worried when wymack comes into the picture, but it never culminates into anything as horrible as hand breaking because riko has an actual outlet and a support system :) it’s mostly a yelling match that eventually turns to getting scolded by kayleigh for acting like barbarians

duman vs kalshare
This one goes out to the people who weren't there during the great YouTube comment battle, allow me to set the stage for you:
All the way back in December of 2021 I was just existing on YT, looking at a couple videos, whatever- When suddenly, in a random comment section I came across the question that started it all. If Duman and Kalshara were to fight, who would win? And because I was about as normal as I am now, very extremely normal, I just. Jumped in there. Which I actually don't do, usually. Commenting stresses me out and ''arguments'' even more so.
I said Duman would win ofc. No surprises there. Now I will admit I literally just went "Duman." and dipped, I was satisfied with that at the time. I think a couple of people did the same thing, actually? Just a short chain of "Duman", it was kinda funny. Then the person started their defense, something along the lines of: "Kalshare has fairy magic and wild magic, that's more than Duman." And I'm not 100% proud of this response, but basically I just went "nuh uh"?? Like yeah it's more in the sense that. Those are two things. But is it more in terms of strength? 2021 me didn't think so. And lowkey I still don't.
Is it my bias against season 7? Maybe.
But did Kalshara still have her fairy powers when she went full wild magic? Idk!! If she did, she'd still wouldn't have finished/graduated fairy school?? I'd argue still being part fairy would put her at more of a disadvantage tbh, because y'know. Trained fairy hunter who is immune to fairy magic. Which is a point that was brought up to the commenter, Duman can't be hurt by 'lesser fairy magic', as mean as that might sound. The Winx themselves needed a specific transformation to start doing damage to the Black Circle, ignoring how some people feel about that, it was a thing. We told them that. Kalshara isn't a Believix fairy so her being a fairy would not help.
Besties. When I tell you their response will be engraved into my mind forever. "We never saw her transform so we don't know if she is." SORRY lemme just-
I don't even feel like explaining why that's a deranged take, so I'm not gonna. I'll just move on to my next point.
This might be because I don't really respect wild magic as a whole, but what it looks like is just. Transforming into animals and creatures. Which? Slay ig. But it seems that's where the limit is. Animals and creatures. Duman is shown to also be able to transform into people and fucking WATER on top of animal and creatures. It's his preference rather than his limit. We don't really know where his actual limit is and S4 didn't bother giving a clear answer. Just kinda killed him off. That whole thing also vague in the show.
Anyway, we went back and forth for a bit, didn't come to an agreement or anything whatever. I ended up finding this person in other comment sections after this as well! Asking the same question. One comment section being. My own. Under my Duman VA video. I think the original comment section was blocked because the video got marked as for kids, but I may have some screenshots laying around that I'll add in a reblog if I find them. I do have this response to one of her comments that I decided not to interact with:
Because spoken like an individual that doesn't value their two turtles.
Remember besties, one of these villains had to be DESTROYED, the other fell down a hole, was declared dead and never seen again. Things to think about. I know I think about it. Sometimes. Because I'm normal.
