When I was in high school I used to perform gospel songs at church with one of my best friends. She sang, and I played accompaniment and sang backup. We were actually really close! Then I went to college and we suddenly weren’t anymore—she’d stopped talking to me so she could date this grown man she liked, who I hated.

So when I came home from college that summer, I stopped singing songs with her and started performing at church on my own. The first one I sang was about how people change for the worst slowly, over time. Anyway that’s MY silver springs

local man completely obliterated by strength of narrative and character writing in 2023 game of the year

#mine #last night after putting it off for essentially as long as i possibly could because i knew it would decimate me #i finally attacked c4z4dor and (of course) kept ast4r10n as a spawn and basically finished up his quest #FUUUUCK ME DUDE....i knew what was coming in advance but that did not make it any less impactful #i mean holy shit the writing on this guy......the fucking graveyard scene (DO NOT GET ME STARTED)...#and of course neil's performance ohhh my god he deserves every award he can possibly have #god i love asta so much i'm literally never going to be the same this game is soooo insane #the only things i have left are the house of hope and then disabling the foundry and killing gort and doing the final fight stuff #i am ... nervous lol #ive heard the raphael fight is HAAAAAAAAARD #i'll find a way...#i think in the future i may reorder my act 3 quests i think it would be interesting to tackle some (ex companion quests or raphael)#sooner in the story #shadowhearts quest was like...3rd or 4th last thing i did cause i think i did that and then ansur and then astarion #i'm actually SO excited to replay the game i think im gonna have the time of my life doing roleplay and making diff choices #plus i know i missed a TON of stuff in this run so its gonna be fun to see what else is out there #after this im planning to do my first durge run which is REALLY exciting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#i may do another regular tav run simultaneously but not totally sure....#anyway yeah... awesome game everyone should buy it and play it its on sale right now go buy it and play it

Some random PotO moments that I love

(Some of these are little acting details from Jon Robyns' second performance on the West End aka the only live version I've seen)

This is also not a comprehensive list of all of them because everything in this show is great

Okay, everyone loves this, but the chandelier rising with the overture is incredible and deserves to be on every list.

The fact that The Phantom gets about 20,000 francs a month (which I'm convinced he just uses to keep his candle collection thriving).

"INSOLENT BOY, THIS SLAVE OF FASHION"

The fact that Erik was like "I'll show Christine the mannequin I have of her in a wedding dress. That'll go great!"

And then she passes out and he leaves her on the floor. 😭 (He does put his cloak over her though).

Is Erik that invested in his opera (Jon did have some very excited scribbling) that he didn't notice Christine wake up or was he just like "oop, she's waking up. Act natural, Erik. You are cool and mysterious. ACT NATURAL."

Jon half crawling half dragging himself across the stage during Stranger Than You Dreamt It (sir, how can you still sing like that???)

The whole Poor Fool sequence was very funny to watch and the cast nailed it!

Raoul being an adorable dork during All I Ask of You. 🥰 Matt Blaker is great.

The Phantom's reprise of All I Ask of You being one of my favourite vocal moments in the entire show! 🔥

Monsieur André's incredible sparkly skeleton get-up.

Carlotta's batwing dress!

Erik being the dramatic bitch he is and vanishing just to appear the top of the stairs again. Do you think he rehearsed that bit in his little sewer lair?

That sparky skull cane thing that Erik is waving around in the graveyard. 💀

Page Blankson is an absolute joy to watch as Christine.

Piangi drawing his coat around himself when The Phantom says he needs to lose weight and then him doing the same thing when Madame Giry asks Carlotta if they can be sure he's not watching rehearsals. Nice little detail.

The fact that in The Point of No Return The Phantom looks like the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come from The Muppets Christmas Carol.

Me watching Raoul jumping into the lake and thinking "that's a big drop from the stairs to the stage" only to watch him disappear below the stage.

Erik's organ slam because he has to be a drama queen.

Erik being like "if only I wasn't so ugly, then you would love me" and Christine pointing out that his face is not exactly the problem in this entire situation.

Jon's, Matt's and Paige's vocals!!!

Jon's delivery of "make your choice" coming across as a little broken and scared is *chef's kiss*.

*Christine kisses Erik* Erik.exe has stopped working

Jon's delivery of "LEAVE MEEEEE!"

The little Masquerade reprise that makes me cry. Every. Single. Time. 😭 (It's the hand over the monkey's face. I can't do it 🥲).

Erik disappearing from the chair because he needs a final Dramatic Bitch™️ moment.

im so so sad i wish i could be an adult

#does anyone else get terrified of the fact they will never be an adult and adequately perform adulthood in any capacity #it might be subjective but i know i can't. everyone around us can without question but the moment i try my brain fails #im terrified of doing anything to escape this household bc i will be all on omy own #and i know i can't do that i will not survive but i have no choice and no support system i have NO ONE to rely on i have no outside contact #im so so scared. i was not taught any of the life skills and ilack the capacity to think or act like an adult and i know it's not something #i can acquire at all because everyone did by now. everyone did i wish i wasnt perpetually left behind and flailing trying to stay afloat #i hate everyone around me who set us up for failure i hate them for not being able to provide me at least the care and support i need #if i can hold down a job and that's very very questionable i will at least be happy with myself. that's something.#it's scary and so alienating snd i wouldn't wish it upon anyone i just can't function on the same level #something tells me it's okay bc normal brains supposedly don't finish developing til 25 but this is not considering developmental disability #but im so scared of being seen as incompetent and unserious and unreliable when we're already in our twenties #i wish someone could relate #maybe it's something to do with my source too as a system but i still genuinely feel like not a single thing changed since our teens i feel #so stuck and so stunted #i am nothing. perhaps.#vent #? idont even knoe

I did!!!!! I got to see it with the entire OBC in 2019 and it was absolutely amazing I loved every second of it, but a couple of my friends and I saw it with the new cast today and OH MY GOD??!?! I am a changed person I will never be the same

SO fucked up that when u study languages they also make u study architecture history and ant biology and economy and european politics hierarchy so by the end of the semester i still cant tie a proper sentence in any language but sure i can differentiate the neo gothic style from rococo or tell you what a bull market is

#shut up dave #im tired im tired im tired i dont care abt any of this #i mean i do enjoy architecture and art periods. i dont want to be required to know all of them #i have an exam tomorrow and one on sunday and one on wednesday and one on next saturday #then on monday and tuesday and the following saturday and monday too #and frankly. im only confident i can pass 3 maybe 4 of them #for the rest??? idk ill need to study and im very bad at that #but hey we got the grades back from the first exam!! the one i took last week and i got a 9 yippeee #that is out of 10 #it was in german interpreting n like. genuinely. im good enough at consecutive interpreting that i dont think theres a way 4 me to fail #like even if i mess it up i cant do THAT bad #i had to do it 4 english today and i think i fucked up sooo big it was so embarrassing. but then we got to the critique of my performance #and. it was all the usual nitpicks? like few word choices #the occasional discordance with adjectival conjugation. few points that 'havent clearly come across'#in my mind i had missed like a whole half of the speech but apparently it was p good still #now the problem is. same prof who teaches that subject also teaches specialized languages #and im. very bad at that one for simple reason that i have not processed any information all year #um maybe next time dont make your class about the stock market? idk just a suggestion. i dont care for wallstreet or whatever.#tho to b fair i didnt care for the european parliament last year either so ig u just cant win me on those terms #but if we get to specializing on the judiciary field i think i wouldnt be able to keep ignoring it. because of the circumstances #i have two more shirt designs to finish before the month ends but as u can see school wants me dead at the same time #one of said designs is a full 7 character thing :/#and the other. well ive already made 3 thumbnails for it and nothing rly clicks the way i want it to
