why didn’t lovechild!au geralt ever go looking for jaskier?
That is a good question! I think there are various things at play.
First there is Ciri – which he did take in shortly after they separated. Since I took wild hunt Ciri for this story (when they meet later) this does change her age quite drastically. It deages her quite a bit (if Milek is around 14 and she is ~24) that means Geralt took her in when she was nine. And I think that does change things. His focus was on her.
Then there is Yennefer – I think she wanted to encourage him to look out for Jaskier, but she is also majorly pissed at him. I feel like their dynamic changes a lot because she is aware of Milek. (It’s way cooler, for a start.) It’s not her intention but... Geralt feels even worse because of that? She makes him feel like he did something unforgiveable. Which makes avoidance a bigger topic on his side. And after a while… I dunno. When Yen and Geralt had that talk on the dragon hunt, that this life they lead doesn’t fit and work with a baby – Geralt was not wrong. And I feel like, with time, and what Ciri goes through too, Yen comes to realize that it might be better if he doesn’t know (for now). So maybe she doesn’t outright discourage him to look out for Jaskier, but… She certainly is not encouraging that idea. (it’s messy.)
There is part of Geralt that feels like. Jaskier will come back when he feels ready (he always did) and if he goes out to find him, he isn’t welcome. It doesn’t help that Jaskier is suddenly very hard to find. Geralt wants to respect his wish to not be found.
(little does he know).
And then there is also A LOT of plot happening.

An idea for a Hazbin Hotel Reaction fic-
What if the crew get grabbed for it a few months before the events of the Pilot?
Imagine, the story starts off relatively normal, and our starting cast consisting of Lucifer, Charlie, Vaggie, Angel Dust, Husk, and Niffty. [I’m including the last two for Reaction potential with someone coming up later in this idea] They would be first watching the Pilot Thankfully for Angel Dust he wasn’t whisked away while he was having a shoot, but is at least mildly buzzed. Not not everyone’s so “lucky”, with Lucifer barely dressed up and in full depressed-dad mode, Husk still losing the whole pot (he doesn’t know it but he would’ve lost at that table anyways), and Vaggie while doing some sort of bandage-work almost revealing that she’s an angel, it sets up the thread of reactors possibly being taken during tense situations.
They get the usual message, that they’re stuck in a room together (and attached rooms with at least a kitchen space probably), until they all finish watching the series together, but they can take as much time as they want. Time has stopped for the world they come from, once they return it’ll be back to normal and all that jazz. They are also told that some additional people would be joining them/getting pulled in as they become more relevant in the story, but not always when they make their first appearance on screen.
Lucifer probably has a heart to heart with Charlie—if he isn’t too prideful at that moment—an Charlie hasn’t properly fixed up the hotel yet, but has been in the process of drafting up plans and a little through the intro she would invite Angel Dust to it. Lots of introductions made, and then they actually start watching the show.
The crew hears the thrum of a portal opening up, and Sir Pentious falls in. He’s holding the steering wheel of his airship—sooo that’s gonna be a fun problem to deal with when he gets back.
A portal opens for Razzle and Dazzle as the news segment pulls up, who were mauling some sinner that was about to mess with the hotel.
When the radio demon invites himself into becoming a sponsor for the hotel, the crew had almost expected him to come falling through as well, but hey since he didn’t, maybe they won’t have to worry about it? The guy seems pretty evil anyways, and the message given to them at the start implied that any new viewers probably wouldn’t try to kill anyone else there. Both Husk and Vaggie help build up this impression.
It is as the Pilot comes to a close that a red man crashes through and floods the room with the noise of static. A limp figure is covered in blood, barely breathing, limbs with snapped shackles on them. Clothed in what few damp rags would cover up the numerous wounds and scars on his skin. Gaze is hazy, but his eyes are wide and wide, confused and furious, and terrified. The big close-lipped smile is trembling with blood dripping from its stitches.
The seven years he would’ve been gone for were wouldn’t have been very kind to him.
It takes the crew a long while before they start watching the next episode.
(Alastor, wrapped in blankets and bandages and picking at the scabs forming around his mouth, has his arms around Niffty on the sofa. She too is wrapped in a blanket as an extra layer to help with touch-aversion.)
What comes next? What other discoveries will the Staff have later and how will that influence what they do when they get out? Will some of them want to get out? (Al will be fine though- they’ve probably set up a rescue or housing plan by that point, if at least because the Morningstars are as industrious as they are stubborn) Who knows, you decide on how you’d want to deal with such a total derailment of the plot! I just wanted an excuse for more Alastor whump-
(a sudden reunion with Vox and this Alastor would be fun)

Do you think that an Antari can get sick ? Or their blood protect them from any infection ? As they heal very quickly and can survive very bad injuries, could they also resist not-magic diseases ?
This is not something pointed in the books but the story takes place in the 1800s, where many diseases killed thousand of people and life was shorter. Even if Red London appears to be the cleaniest of the four, this is interesting to note there is no accessible magic for healing. Priests can balance elements but seem not able to heal people. They should have very good knowledge of medecine or being lucky (or having an Antari at hand…).
Lila probably got sick when she was young, and maybe her mother has died from infection. It would be highly tragic if her power manifested to try to save her mother. I really want to learn more about her past!!
Hi anon! That's a good question. I would love to see this in the books, because it never happened so far. Their blood has healing powers, so we could assume that they do not get seriously ill like ordinary people. But an antari still needs another antari to heal wounds of any kind they may sustain, so I don't think their blood protects them from any infection either. Or maybe just light things. I think if it would, the antari wouldn't need another antari to heal them. I guess it's because of the balance of power. The antari might be able to use their blood to do things others can't do, and they're harder to kill, but they are still human beings at the end of the day. So I think they get sick :) maybe we haven't seen it yet because it's not relevant to the plot like when someone gets a fight wound or breaks a few bones. Plot wise, this has more impact. I think there is a slight possibility that we may see an antari get sick and I have a scenario in mind of when/who could be. I might write a story about it. 👀
I also think Lila's mother died because of a disease and I need her full backstory like yesterday. lol Like you said, around that time even a cold could kill a person, or even hunger. She died when Lila was 10, so her power had manifested already, if we think Kell's had manifested before he was 5. The trying to heal her mom theory would be devastating to read about, but then it would clash with what happens later because Lila doesn't know she's an antari until she goes to WL to save Kell.
Part of me thinks Lila would remember trying to use her magic to save her mother, because unlike Kell (who has forgotten everything about his biological parents due to the forgetting spell), Lila remembers everything and the trauma of losing her eye, but also of losing her mother is still vivid in her mind. I definitely think her mother died before her eyes and she felt powerless because she couldn't do anything to save her. Unless, since it was a traumatic experience, her ptsd manipulated her memories and she forgot about this or has a distorted recollection of the memory.
It would parallel with the scene I mentioned above of Lila going to WL to save Kell. When she finally frees him, she wants to heal him using antari magic, but she doesn't know the words. "Tell me the fucking words," she orders Kell, and he obliges. She goes feral when Kell is injured, maybe because it reminds her of when her mom was dying. What if this also happened with her mom but her mom didn't know the words? Would be mind blowing! I also realized something about the mothers when I reread A Life Erased... but I'll write another post about it.
I love answering btw <3

🎢🛒🤡✨
This one looks suspiciously like a little story in itself... 👀
🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?
Journey Into Night........!!!!!!!!!!! Hands down. From beginning to end. I was shaking when I finished writing it.
🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
First, I'd love to understand the link between the question and the cart?!?! 🤔
Second, I think there is a lot of these in my writing.
My most recurring themes would be fighting for justice and what's right, bravery, and kinship. The topic of feels however would be more wide and I let a lot of room for unexpected feels for my characters and for my readers too. It would be awesome to me that my readers find themselves feeling things they never imagined to feel when they picked this or that one of my stories!
Except for disgust, maybe. And anger. Unless it's because the story is too good and you feel angry for or with the characters! Then, I'm happy! 🤣
I'm a little less into imagery, I think. But I'm sure there must be some accidental ones or perfectly intentional ones I just don't recall right now. If one of my readers stumble upon this and have noticed some kind of imagery in my writing, I'd be glad to know about it. 👍
And about scenes though, there are always characters eating something at some point, plot relevant or not. I love food and talking about food (apparently!) and it's sometimes even a theme in my stories or for a character… I'm so happy when one of my characters shares my liking for food!! (Thank you Ela!! 😭👍 … even if I don't like sugar like you do.)
🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?
Sometimes, I think myself funny. 🙃 But sadly, the quote that still makes me laugh to this day is from Ulrik… so, only in French, and it translates not so good because you need the entire build-up for the "punch line".
In context (and in a nutshell), he's being a little shit to one of his informants and tries to pressure him into giving him a skelton key to commit more crimes in order to solve another (he's a cop, remember?)… and this bit of the scene between them was unplanned and just appeared as I was writing, and it was very funny. See? I'm a very funny person…
I'm pretty sure there must be other funny moments in my published writing and, from the top of my head without spoiling too much: Din rampaging the Handler's lounge would be one. 👀
✨ Give you and your writing a compliment. Go on now. You know you deserve it. 😉
Aww thank you. 🥺 I'd say I love my characters (OC or canon) from the bottom of my heart and even if my translations might not be perfect, the stories are still good and should give you a very good time!
