Aa a big fan of Bendy I hate the state the series is in right now

I know I don't post about it but it really is one of my favorite games ever. Yes, even more than Psychonauts. It's a big part of my childhood, and it's one of the things that got me so into gaming and fandom

But after seeing all this major retconning FOR NO REASON and how greedy the company has been (2 new games already? Seriously guys?) It makes me so legitimately sad... If I'm being honest, Dark Revival was the last good thing from these guys. The new book was good, but it did lack that same charm the first two had I'll admit

And the retcons... at this point, if the story is gonnq keep getting this screwed up I might make a re-write AU like I am for Fnaf

so, for my Psychonauts AU, I'm just gonna write down my main synopsis and some lil bits ive got written down/just came up with

Synopsis but like really freakin long:

At age eight, quirkless Izuku Midoriya comes across a strange street vendor in the middle of a back alleyway. The man, who tells the boy he prefers to be called AA (like... double-a), has some extremely interesting wares, from brain-shaped lollipops, to a weird device he calls a dowsing rod, even giant lidded eyeballs packaged with cards. The thing that Izuku takes a shine to, however, is a journal, so the man tells him it's free of charge, and decides to package it with a golden pill with a mustache on it, and a weird little door with geometric designs on it, and gives the boy a map with locations he'll be in (as the man hasn't had very many customers). When Izuku gets home, he finds that the journal's already been written in, and is property of the former second head of the psychonauts, Hollis Forsythe.

This strange journal will lead to Izuku becoming a hero, and the pioneer for a new era of the Psychonauts.

ok now for the fun stuff:

Izuku has his psychic awakening the day after his meeting w AA

He does not, in fact, tell his mom about AA. at least, not at first.

by the time he's 10, he's learned all of the in-game psychic abilities, but only mastered mental connections

he masks his abilities as an "energy manipulation" quirk, just for extra safekeeping

nobody in this setting has ever heard of psychics (and yea, i'm def gonna be touching on that)

A comic take on 2k3/MSA. I once jokingly called it “Vivi’s Irregulars” to myself, and, unfortunately, I love it.

There’s a good chance “Vivi’s Irregulars” would be a series of crossovers, and not specifically the 2k3 one, but whatever.

A more horror/adventure-oriented 2k3/MSA crossover, because a friend and I had some great stuff going there.

I had some vague ideas about a follow-up to Some Time to Think it Over, and have some bits written that turned out really well

I wanted to write about Alphys and Frisk for the entirety of 2018

A... kinda odd Team Sonic/Heroes fic that I’ve never said anything about because I was embarrassed. It’s strictly friendship/adventure, but still.

I don’t technically want to write this one, because I think it ran its course, but The Outline That Would Not Die gets an honorary mention for being 13,733 words long and featuring three separate diagrams.

Not gonna lie, the trans!WW Link concept wasn’t a story I was actively telling myself until the end of December, but it’s a concept from 2018 that I don’t want to give up on, so I’m adding it.

Maybe with all of this off my chest, I can finally focus on one thing at a time instead of being swamped by concepts I have just nebulously floating around.

Or maybe I can ignore all of it and immediately write something from a boat’s point of view, because apparently you can’t trust me with anything.
