so wild to me as someone who has been involved in online fandom for 15+ years seeing now a generation of young fans who have had queer rep in their mainstream media for pretty much their whole lives and are so used to audience/creator interaction on socials that they go into new media with the GENUINE ACTIVE EXPECTATION that their favourite noncanon queer ship will either be acknowledged or become canon if it's popular enough online

#irl #I'm not calling anyone out here it's just bananas to me #that you guys are so USED to queer rep and creators who take interest in the queer ships fandom like #that you EXPECT canon content for them???? even in franchises where romance is CLEARLY not what the story is about??????#absolutely bonkers man you go you funky little zoomers #one thing I am NOT impressed by though is the new re-emergence of hating on female characters that 'get in the way' of queer ships #like REALLY? you guys are doing that again? leave that shit behind in 2014 where it belongs 🙄
