Ratha is staring directly at Orgo . . . no, actually. He's staring directly at the donut in Orgo's paw. He wants it.

“Huh?” Orgo grunted, turning away from his delectable snack to address the sudden, rhythmic, and hot wind blowing down his back. 

He got a face-full of Ratha as his answer. 

The Felyne yowled in surprise, falling back on the stump.

“Woah! Little too close for comfurt there.” Orgo huffed, dusting off his shirt as he sat back up, “What’s the big idea, anyway?”

Ratha was too fixated on some… part? Of him to give any sort of tell. Orgo crinkled his nose, waving his free paw in front of the monster’s face. No response.

He waved his doughnut paw in front of the wyvern’s face. Ratha’s eyes dashed to-and-for, honed onto the motion. Orgo blinked -- once, twice. He glanced down at his doughnut. Just in case, he flailed his hand around until he felt his muscles ache and the air left his lungs. 

Ratha’s eyes followed the motions perfectly.

That’s when the realization hit him like a Lagiacrus’s electric shock.

“Oh… ooho-ho-no way, big guy.” He turned away quickly, shaking his head. “Look, I love treatin’ my pawsome pals to a doughnut as much as the next Felyne, but Mari’s got you on a diet! Can’t fly if you weigh as much as a Duramboros. And besides, I dunno if you can even eat… sugar…”

Orgo’s rant wilted away beneath Ratha’s stare. 

It wasn’t intimidating or anything. Orgo may have had a rich and colorful history of being utterly clobbered by monsters, but he knew Ratha was no brute. The big lug wouldn’t so much as scratch him.

No, what got Orgo to shut up was how huge Ratha’s eyes looked. Were they always so saucer-shaped, with such big pupils? The sunlight caught the rims of them in such a way that they glistened, bringing to mind tales of wyvern’s tears. Logically, he knew Rathalos had no eyebrows, but with Ratha staring at him from just the right angle, Orgo could swear that there were furrowed brow ridges, drooping and crest-fallen.  

Orgo scratched the back of his head. 

Now, he didn’t typically find monsters cute, either. One too many wallopings inevitably ruined the charm. But Ratha was doing a pawsitively purrfect impersonation of a hungry kitten right now….

And he could feel his resolve crumbling. 

Orgo squinted his good eye shut the moment he realized. Must… resist… 

An utterly pathetic whine from Ratha goaded him into stealing one more peek. Just one little slip.

That was enough.

“Nyhh… - d’oh, alright!” Orgo finally relented, quickly shoving the doughnut towards Ratha’s face.

“But don’t go tellin’ Mari ‘bout this, ‘kay?” he said, looking away, “‘Specially if you go and hork it all back up. As far as we’re concerned, you just found it on the ground.”

I hope you know, that I’ve enjoyed watching your art grow through the years a from the old FNAF days, the appliance alliance, to where you’re at now digitally! It’s been a real journey and you should be proud of the progress you’ve been making. oh my god literally Y'ALL were my inspirations for encouraging such work. i was a depressed kid in an abusive home and often i had to hide my art lest it be torn up and shredded. so seeing people's active interaction asking for more and even giving me some creation in return meant the WORLD and still does!

coloring tips specifically? hmm here are a couple links to some videos on light and color and shadow stuff that does a good job explaining the way i approach those things. i dont always get super detailed with it but knowing how it all works will help you make your own creative choices

ive gotten kinda lazy with my coloring the last year or so. i started using blending modes to shade with instead of trying to do all the color logistics myself so now i can just throw down the true color flats and go. but the layer modes do a good job simulating light and shadow so it works enough for me aha

i use overlay layers for light and multiply layers for shadow pretty much, with the occasional glow layer for harder lights. plus sometimes either an overlay (day) or multiply (night) layer fill with the BG color to bring the flats into harmony with the BG before shading if it needs it. used a pin light layer for a night piece recently and i like how it looks (more saturated night look). just mess around with the layer modes until you like it honestly aha. but i try to use as few layers as possible since i dont want it to look over done or anything. intersecting overlay and multiply layers helps to give that saturated effect around where light meets shadow. you can see it pretty easily here (flats > multiply/shadow > overlay/light (+glow in the eyes))

its just the overlay layer painted on part of the multiply layer. warm light cool shadow (or cool light warm shadow depending on the scene). i keep the ambient light thats in the shadow cool (no overlay) to imply it as indirect from the primary light source

UHH thats really it honestly for my coloring process. i also try to use a limited palette. i look for all the colors characters share and try to pull them from the same swatch as much as i can. it helps to keep things feeling in harmony. same with using colors for light and shadow that already exist in the BG

other random tips always include DOING STUDIES AND USING REFERENCES!!!! i know studies can be sooo boring but they really do help. and even just doing a few of them can help tremendously. make it fun draw your faves instead but at least do it using some references youll improve so fast. style is all about how you interpret the world, so look at the world and try to learn from it :)

The following contains only the aftermath of the gacha and me being real chatty about the way characters look + expectations, so if you're looking for commentary of the story, please refer to Part II!

Hortus de Escapismo is on the horizon and Dr. Lundi is a radiant and unavoidable ball of excitement during the pulls. How could she NOT be??? Six months of saving, an ungodly ammount of pulls and a surprising eagerness of Executor to arrive home later (i.e. the fact out of eight 6*, only two were strangers).

Speaking of strangers, an obscure horse wandered into the pulls to remind her that he's still her number one husband and Executor comes second. Most likely because to summon Federico she changed Mlynar on her homescreen to Executor normal version and he got a little worried, the old man.

Among the 4 Doctors there's always 7 pots of each Elite, so it's no wonder the other one went to Dr. Pinkie before pity, which pretty much concluded our pulls. I don't know what happened to Dr. Kryo, but I personally didn't pull because Hoederererer is on the horizon four months from now and I am BEHIND because of Silverash Kernels.

Fastest character build ever in the world. I think maxing out characters ASMRs have to exist. It's so nice to see it happen so fast. Aesthetically pleasing, complete and right.

But since I'm giving statements that are already unrequested, I just want to say that Executor is not my type. I don't like stiffly blunt and I am also on the side of Sarkaz, so just Sanktas in general are a little... off for me. Except Enforcer, Enforcer is my baby and I would kill for him.

Go on, TRY and convince me this isn't one of the coolest arts ever. I need old 6* characters to get a revamp on their E2 art, because compared to this few can truly compare. God is behind him, holding the scythe, the statue is half a robot for whatever reason???? And it's so cool???

Not to mention that he looks exactly the same face-wise versus his E0 art, which cannot be said about, I don't know, SilverAsh, who looks like he was born in a wet cardboard box all alone in an alley.

His token is also so so so so cute, I don't know what the overall experience with listening to him talking into your ear feels like, but just-- just read this:

Base skill not all that impressive. For some reason while looking into it Dr. Pinkie expressed surprise, because she couldn't find any other operator who gives productivity for EXP cards, but by complete accident I saw FEater is another one.

Insider's splash looks great, he's the embodyment of that one weirdo who always gets in trouble for some reason. Might be the spiky hair. Might be the army of pigeons following him.

Their voice actors are amazing so far as I heard, so we wait and see what he's like personality wise.
